Democrats’ Radical ‘Infrastructure’ Bill is Going to Drastically Change the Country; Democrats: Bill is Step Toward Massive Amnesty; Murkowski, Sullivan Vote With Dems

By The Federalist. On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, Federalist Senior Christopher Bedford and Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky break down the “progressive Christmas list” reconciliation bill disguised as “infrastructure” and why Republicans chose to help Democrats achieve their goals. . .

“There’s absolutely no reason for Republicans to back up any of this and it’s really pathetic as far as going in looking at the list of as 18 or 19 Republicans who voted for this bill, who voted for the transition bill because they’re walking into a Democrat trap,” Bedford said.

The infrastructure deal is packaged as something that will help the country but Bedford said it’s actually a way for Democrats to cede more control to the government and away from the people. Democrats: Passage of Infrastructure Bill is Step Toward Massive Amnesty

By Breitbart. Senate and House Democrats are relishing in the passage, with the help of 19 Senate Republicans, of a so-called bipartisan infrastructure bill which they see as a building block toward a massive amnesty plan for millions of illegal aliens.

On Tuesday, in a 69-30 vote, 19 Senate Republicans joined all 50 Senate Democrats to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which does not include a provision to ensure American infrastructure jobs go to American citizens rather than illegal aliens.

Those 19 Senate Republicans include:

Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Roy Blunt (R-MO), Richard Burr (R-NC), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Rob Portman (R-OH), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Jim Risch (R-ID), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), John Hoeven (R-ND), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Mitt Romney (R-UT)

Senate Passes $1T Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill

The Senate on Tuesday passed a roughly $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure deal, a significant win for President Biden and the first step on his top legislative priority.

Senators voted 69-30 on the bill, which was spearheaded by a bipartisan group of senators led by Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio). Nineteen GOP senators voted with all Democrats to pass the legislation.

The bill is now heading to the House, where it faces an uncertain future and skepticism from progressives. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has vowed she won’t take it up until the Senate passes the second part of its infrastructure two step, a sweeping $3.5 trillion spending package that includes Democrats’ top priorities.

But the Senate’s passage of the bipartisan measure on Tuesday gives a victory for Biden and the centrist-minded group that led the legislation, and placed big bets and months of time on the ability to get a bipartisan deal on infrastructure, one of Washington’s long-running legislative white whales. Humanly Impossible to Read Before Voting: So-Called ‘Infrastructure’ Bill 2,700 Pages Long; Here’s How It Could Benefit Murkowski

By Breitbart. If the United States Senate votes this week on the bipartisan so-called “infrastructure” bill, it would be humanly impossible for any U.S. senator to read it before voting on it.

The text of a draft of the bill, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News from U.S. Senate sources not authorized to leak it, shows the plan is 2,701 pages long.

The text, which Breitbart News is publishing here so the public can see what Congress is doing in secret, shows the plan is far more sprawling and expansive than GOP senators who backed advancing it without text even existing led their constituents to believe.

Sources familiar with the drafting of the text of this bill told Breitbart News it was being written in secret for months outside the normal legislative process, which is supposed to happen in relevant committees of jurisdiction. These sources made the unauthorized leak of the draft text to Breitbart News out of concern that the murky and secretive process behind this bill may have led to widespread corruption throughout its nearly three thousand pages. . .

Notably, the bill contains a large carveout for an “Alaska Highway” that would likely benefit Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). (Read more from “Humanly Impossible to Read Before Voting: So-Called ‘Infrastructure’ Bill 2,700 Pages Long” HERE)

Infrastructure Bill Will ‘Study’ Job Losses From Canceling Keystone XL, Without Restoring It

By Breitbart. The new $1.2 trillion “bipartisan” infrastructure bill contains a provision to create a “study and report” on the effects of President Joe Biden’s decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office — but does not restore it. . .

It includes the following provision on the Keystone XL pipeline (emphasis added):

SEC. 40434. STUDY AND REPORT BY THE SECRETARY OF ENERGY ON JOB LOSS AND IMPACTS ON CONSUMER ENERGY COSTS DUE TO THE REVOCATION OF THE PERMIT FOR THE KEYSTONE XL PIPELINE.

(a) DEFINITION OF EXECUTIVE ORDER.—In this section, the term ‘‘Executive Order’’ means Executive Order 13990 (86 Fed. Reg. 7037; relating to protecting public health and the environment and restoring science to tackle the climate crisis).

(b) STUDY AND REPORT.—The Secretary shall— (1) conduct a study to estimate— (A) the total number of jobs that were lost as a direct or indirect result of section 6 of the Executive Order over the 10-year period beginning on the date on which the Executive Order was issued; and (B) the impact on consumer energy costs that are projected to result as a direct or indirect result of section 6 of the Executive Order 1663 EDW21994 589 S.L.C. over the 10-year period beginning on the date on which the Executive Order was issued; and (2) not later than 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act, submit to Congress a report describing the findings of the study conducted under paragraph (1).

It Appears Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal Has Been Reached: ‘We’re Happy It’s Over’ (VIDEO)

According to CNN’s Manu Raju and Newsy’s Nathaniel Reed, it appears that a bipartisan agreement has been reached on infrastructure legislation. The deal appears to have been struck by senators as well as White House advisors.

Democrats Design Fallback Far-Left $6 Trillion Infrastructure Plan Without GOP

Senate Democrats and Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) are designing a $6 trillion fallback infrastructure plan for reconciliation if the $1.2 trillion bipartisan plan fails.

“Senate Democrats are weighing spending as much as $6 trillion on their own infrastructure package if the chamber’s bipartisan talks fail, according to two sources familiar with the matter,” Politico reported.

“The bipartisan talks could impact us, but we’re going to keep going,” Sanders said Wednesday about the reported scheme of shoving “$2.5 trillion would go through the Finance Committee, $185 billion through the Energy Committee, and almost $500 billion through the Environment and Public Works Committee.”

On Wednesday, a bipartisan group of 21 Senators released a $1.2 trillion proposal in which tax increases are excluded, presumably along with global warming initiatives.

The $6 trillion fallback plan may become useful if negotiations over the bipartisan plan fail due to far-left Democrats’ demands of including tax hikes and “climate change” measures. (Read more from “Democrats Design Fallback Far-Left $6 Trillion Infrastructure Plan Without GOP” HERE)
