Head Of Immigration Union: America Is Highly Vulnerable To An ISIS Attack

Photo Credit: Daily CallerBy VINCE COGLIANESE.

The United States is highly vulnerable to a terrorist attack because of America’s “lax immigration POLICIES,” according to the head of a government union composed of nearly 12,000 immigration officials.

Kenneth Palinkas, president of the National Citizenship and Immigration Services Council, announced Thursday that there is an “extremely real and serious threat that ISIS has already or will soon slip across our porous southern border.”

“[I]t is also essential to warn the public about the threat that ISIS will exploit our loose and lax visa POLICIES to gain entry to the United States,” Palinkas said in a statement obtained by The Daily Caller.

“INDEED, as we know from the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, from the 9/11 terrorist attacks, from the Boston Bombing, from the recent plot to bomb a school and courthouse in Connecticut, and many other lesser-known terror incidents,” he wrote, “we are letting terrorists into the United States right through our front door.”

Photo Credit: AP / Carolyn KasterKerry: ISIS Is ‘the Order of Satan’

By Melanie Hunter.

Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday defended President Barack Obama’s statement that the Islamic State is not Islamic, saying that they can call themselves whatever they want, but “they’re not a state, and they do not represent Islam.” In fact, he said, they are “the order of Satan.”

“The Islamic State, they can call themselves what they want to call themselves. We shouldn’t compound the sin by allowing them to get away with it and calling them what they’re not. They’re not a state, and they do not represent Islam,” said Kerry at the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s hearing on the U.S. strategy against ISIS.

Photo Credit: Alex Wong / Getty Senate approves Obama’s plan to arm and train Syrian rebels

By Dan Roberts.

Senators gave their tacit blessing to President Barack Obama’s strategy for fighting the Islamic State (Isis) on Thursday, overwhelmingly passing a budget bill that also grants him authority to arm and TRAIN rival Syrian rebel groups. Despite attempts by Senator Rand Paul to separate the Syrian authorisation from the wider bill on the grounds that it deserved a separate debate, just 27 senators stood in the way of the cloture motion, which allowed Obama to avoid a potentially embarrassing direct vote.

Paul CLAIMED that the bill, which finally passed by 78 to 22, represented a “sad day for the US Senate” and also criticised the underlying strategy of arming groups which, he claimed, had little interest in fighting the Islamic extremists.

“It’s not that I’m against all intervention. I do see Isis as a threat to us – but I see our previous POLICY as having made it worse,” said Paul. “There are valid reasons for war. They should be few and far between … They should not be [hidden] in the pages of a 1,000-page bill and shuffled under the rug.”

Alleged ISIS Photo Controversy Engulfs Sen. John McCain

Photo Credit: BreitbartSen. John McCain (R-AZ) and his aides swear the Syrian “rebels” he was pictured last year with weren’t ISIS members or supporters, and the mainstream media is by and large buying the 2008 GOP presidential nominee’s story.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has endured brutal criticism—media fact checkers, reporters, and political figures have shredded him—for questioning just who McCain posed with.

But a closer look at the situation tells perhaps a different story than McCain’s office or the mainstream media have pushed.

The criticism of McCain centers around how the Arizona senator met with Syrian rebel leaders in May 2013 when he visited the country. McCain posed for photographs with those people, and since then rumors have sprouted up across the Internet that he met with ISIS or some other terrorist kidnappers or nefarious forces.

“The people in the pictures with Senator McCain in Syria included General Salim Idris, then-Chief of Staff of the Supreme Military Command of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Mouaz Moustafa, the Executive Director of the DC-based Syrian Emergency Task Force (which supports the moderate opposition and helped arrange some of the trip), and fighters and commanders from the Northern Storm Brigade, a FSA-aligned group,” McCain’s spokesman Brian Rogers told Breitbart News.

Australia Thwarts Beheading Plot, says Islamic State Threat Persists

Photo Credit: Joel Carret / European Pressphoto AgencyAuthorities in Australia have charged a 22-year-old Sydney resident with preparing to sow terror in the country by seizing a person at random and beheading him in a videotaped execution, Australian media reported Thursday.

Omarjan Azari exhibits “an unusual level of fanaticism,” Prosecutor Michael Allnutt told a Sydney court in a successful attempt to deny bail for the bearded young man, who is facing a possible life sentence.

The plot to carry out a random terrorist attack was foiled after a four-month surveillance operation revealed a network of violent Muslim extremists allegedly being directed by a former Australia resident, Mohammad Ali Baryalei, now a major figure in the Islamic State militant group in Syria, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported. Raids carried out in two Australian cities Thursday resulted in more than a dozen arrests, officials said.

Authorities expressed concern over the scores of Australians being drawn into the violent culture of Islamic State, which has seized broad swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria and proclaimed it a Muslim “caliphate” ruled by a harsh and medieval version of Sharia, or Islamic law.

New Alliance from Hell: Boko Haram and ISIS

Photo Credit: WNDThe Nigerian jihadist group Boko Haram, known for its kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls, has deepened its connection to the Middle East terror army ISIS by forming an information and materiel-support alliance, according to sources.

A Nigeria staff member for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, a non-profit foundation promoting democratic institutions, says leaders Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of ISIS and Abubakar Shakau of Boko Haram “have been sharing military strategy and other information back and forth.”

Kristina Baum says the alliance will empower Boko Haram.

“Boko Haram is hopeful that this will give them more financial support,” she said. “Before, Boko Haram has been getting their money from kidnapping, ransom and extortion from local governments.”

Maha Hamdan, an analyst for Consultancy Africa Intelligence and IntelligenceCommunity.com, confirms the link-up, calling it a dangerous development.

Top General says Half of Iraqi Army Incapable of Working with US Against ISIS

Photo Credit: TownHallThe U.S. military’s top officer said Wednesday that almost half of Iraq’s army is incapable of working against the Islamic State militant group, while the other half needs to be rebuilt with the help of U.S. advisers and military equipment.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey made the remarks to reporters while traveling to Paris to meet with his French counterpart to discuss the situation in Iraq and Syria. The general said that U.S. assessors who had spent the summer observing Iraq’s security forces concluded that 26 of the army’s 50 brigades would be capable of confronting the Islamic State, also known as ISIS. Dempsey described those brigades as well-led, capable, and endowed with a nationalist instinct, as opposed to a sectarian instinct.

However, Dempsey said that the other 24 brigades were too heavily populated with Shiites to be part of a credible force against the Sunni ISIS.

Sectarianism has been a major problem for the Iraqi security forces for years and is in part a reflection of resentments that built up during the decades of rule under Saddam Hussein, who repressed the majority Shiite population, and the unleashing of reprisals against Sunnis after U.S. forces toppled him in April 2003. Sunni resistance led to the relatively brief rise of an extremist group called Al Qaeda in Iraq, led by the late Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. That group withered but re-emerged as the Islamic State organization, which capitalized on Sunni disenchantment with the Shiite government in Baghdad.

U.S. Pushes Back Against Warnings That ISIS Plans to Enter From Mexico

Photo Credit: ERIC GAY / APBy MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT.

Militants for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria have traveled to Mexico and are just miles from the United States. They plan to cross over the porous border and will “imminently” launch car bomb attacks. And the threat is so real that federal law enforcement officers have been placed at a heightened state of alert, and an American military base near the border has increased its security.

As the Obama administration and the American public have focused their attention on ISIS in recent weeks, conservative groups and leading Republicans have issued stark warnings like those that ISIS and other extremists from Syria are planning to enter the country illegally from Mexico. But the Homeland Security Department, the F.B.I. and lawmakers who represent areas near the border say there is no truth to the warnings.

“There is no credible intelligence to suggest that there is an active plot by ISIL to attempt to cross the southern border,” Homeland Security officials said in a written statement, using an alternative acronym for the group.

The Great Unraveling

By Roger Cohen.

It was the time of unraveling. Long afterward, in the ruins, people asked: How could it happen?

It was a time of beheadings. With a left-handed sawing motion, against a desert backdrop, in bright sunlight, a Muslim with a British accent cut off the heads of two American journalists and a British aid worker. The jihadi seemed comfortable in his work, unhurried. His victims were broken. Terror is theater. Burning skyscrapers, severed heads: The terrorist takes movie images of unbearable lightness and gives them weight enough to embed themselves in the psyche.

It was a time of aggression. The leader of the largest nation on earth pronounced his country encircled, even humiliated. He annexed part of a neighboring country, the first such act in Europe since 1945, and stirred up a war on further land he coveted. His surrogates shot down a civilian passenger plane. The victims, many of them Europeans, were left to rot in the sun for days. He denied any part in the violence, like a puppeteer denying that his puppets’ movements have any connection to his. He invoked the law the better to trample on it. He invoked history the better to turn it into farce. He reminded humankind that the idiom fascism knows best is untruth so grotesque it begets unreason.

Colorado Teenager Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy to Support ISIS

Photo Credit: Joshua TrujilloA 19-year-old suburban Denver woman who federal authorities say intended to wage jihad despite their repeated attempts to stop her pleaded guilty Wednesday to trying to help the Islamic State militant group in Syria under a plea deal that requires her to help authorities find others with the same intentions.

Shannon Conley, appearing in a striped jail jumpsuit and a brown and black headscarf, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. She said nothing except noting that she understood the plea and its ramifications.

The agreement says she must cooperate with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies and provide information about other people in Colorado and elsewhere looking to help terrorists abroad. If she cooperates, prosecutors have promise to ask for a reduction in her sentence but the decision would ultimately would be up to a judge.

Conley was arrested in April while trying to board a flight at Denver International Airport that she hoped would ultimately get her to Syria, authorities said. She was charged with trying to help a terrorist organization and could face up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

The trained nurse’s aide from Arvada, Colorado, told agents from the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force that if she couldn’t fight with the Islamic State group, she hoped to use her nursing skills to help the extremists, according to court documents.

Obama Failing Again, this Time In a City Where ISIS Is Threatening A Fourth Beheading

Photo Credit: TwitterPresident Obama is scared to intervene in the Syria region where three Westerners have now been beheaded on video by the terrorist organization ISIS — and a fourth, British aid worker Alan Henning, is being threatened.

It is unclear when the videos were produced, or whether Henning is currently alive. But sources close to the Syrian situation confirm the videos’ setting as the mountainous area outside of Raqqa — the capital city of ISIS’ planned “Islamic Caliphate.”

Obama’s only intervention in the region came in the early summer of 2014, with a failed secret Department of Defense rescue mission for James Foley and the other ISIS captives. Approximately 24 Delta Force commandos retreated after gunfire with ISIS. The Obama administration only disclosed this information after the videotaped beheadings started. Defense Department officials were angry that they released the information at all.

When did ISIS take over Raqqa by driving a car bomb into one of their rivals’ hideouts? In mid-August 2013, just as Obama — then with a more than 50 percent approval rating — vacationed at Martha’s Vineyard with a small foreign policy team led by Susan Rice. There the president oversaw about a dozen drone strikes on al-Qaida in Yemen and also closed down U.S. embassies for a week amid terrorist chatter. House investigators also began requesting Benghazi documents from the administration in August 2013.

David Haines Beheading: Recap of Updates after ISIS Release Video Showing Execution of British Hostage

Photo Credit: Mirror.co.ukIslamic State militants have released footage claiming to show the beheading of British hostage David Haines.

The aid worker, 44, was captured by ISIS in Syria in March 2013.

The plight of the dad-of-two was revealed when he appeared at the end of a video showing the beheading of US journalist Steven Sotloff earlier this month.

ISIS had threatened to kill Mr Haines if world leaders do not bow to their demands.

Tonight, the extremists posted a new video lasting 2minutes and 30 seconds which appears to show the beheading of David Haines.

At the end of the video, ISIS parade another hostage.
