Feud Explodes as Country Star Slams Megachurch Pastor Joel Osteen: ‘You’re Not Going to See Him Do That’

A bizarre feud has ignited between country star John Rich and megachurch pastor Joel Osteen after the singer accused the televangelist of omitting a key teaching from the Bible in his sermons.

Former Lonestar bassist Rich has slammed Osteen for allegedly avoiding talking about the 24th chapter of the Book of Matthew in the New Testament, which outlines the ‘end times’, because it would make congregants feel ‘uncomfortable’.

The chapter in question begins with the disciples asking Jesus: ‘What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’

Jesus responds by warning them that they will face a perilous period of ‘famines and earthquakes’ while being confronted with false Messiahs, adding that his actual coming will be unexpected.

Speaking on the Shawn Ryan Show on Wednesday, Rich, 51, described the passage at length before accusing Osteen, 62, of omitting the key teachings from his preaching because ‘it’s very uncomfortable for Christians to have to think about’.

‘To say that God would never make his people go through something like that is one of the most ignorant, spiritually ignorant things a person could say,’ Rich said. (Read more from “Feud Explodes as Country Star Slams Megachurch Pastor Joel Osteen: ‘You’re Not Going to See Him Do That'” HERE)

Lakewood Church Shooter Identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno; ‘Palestine’ Written on Gun

By Fox News. Police in Houston, Texas, have identified the shooter who opened fire at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church on Sunday as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, Fox News has confirmed.

Moreno, originally from El Salvador, who had a lengthy criminal record, also previously used the name Jeffrey Escalante Moreno, investigators said. The shooter was killed after off-duty police officers at the church responded to the incident. Police said two people were injured – a 57-year-old man and the child who accompanied the shooter. . .

The preliminary reporting also indicated that the message “Free Palestine” was written on the rifle; investigators said later it was just “Palestine.”

Moreno, 36, had a criminal history including convictions for assaulting a police officer in 2009 and forgery in 2010.

Members of the FBI, the Texas Rangers, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Conroe and Houston Police Departments were investigating a property Monday in Conroe, north of Houston, that was believed to be Moreno’s residence, KPRC reported. Child Critically Wounded In Church Shooting Is Son Of Shooter, ‘Anti-Semitic Writing’ Recovered: Police

By Daily Wire. The Houston Police Department confirmed Monday that the woman who opened fire at Lakewood Church in Houston had a documented “mental health history” and her son was the child injured in the shooting. Authorities also obtained “anti-Semitic writing” during their investigation into the shooting.

On Sunday afternoon, 36-year-old Genesse Ivonne Moreno* walked into Lakewood Church in Houston with a long gun and a young child and opened fire before being shot dead by law enforcement at the scene. During a press conference Monday afternoon, Houston PD Commander Chris Hassig said that Moreno “was put under an emergency detention order” in 2016 and “has a mental health history that is documented through us and through interviews with family members.”

The commander added that authorities recovered “anti-Semitic writing” and they believe there was “a familial dispute that has taken place between her ex-husband and her ex-husband’s family.”

Houston PD Chief Troy Finner said Moreno was the biological mother of a 7-year-old child who was shot during an exchange of gunfire between Moreno and two off-duty law enforcement officers. Finner added that the child is “fighting for his life” in critical condition, and a 57-year-old man who was also shot has since been released from the hospital. . .

The shooting at Lakewood Church comes amid growing concern about recent mass shootings carried out by trans-identifying and “non-binary” shooters. (Read more from “Child Critically Wounded in Church Shooting Is Son of Shooter, ‘Anti-Semitic Writing’ Recovered: Police” HERE)

Joel Osteen Slammed for Not Opening Church to Flood Victims

Celebrity televangelist Joel Osteen is under Twitter fire for not opening his church to victims of Tropical Storm Harvey.

Osteen is the head of Lakewood Church in Houston, which is housed in The Summit–the former NBA stadium of the Rockets, which holds 16,800 people.

The storm, which started out as a Category 4 hurricane but was reduced to a tropical storm once it hit land, has showered Texas with more than 30 inches of rain, has left 300,000 people without power and displaced 30,000 in temporary shelters across the state. FEMA is expecting as many as 450,000 potential disaster victims.

Lakewood Church’s Facebook page on Sunday said the church was “inaccessible due to severe flooding,” though the message doesn’t clarify whether the church itself is flooded. Pictures of the church purportedly taken since Harvey made landfall seem to show that it is less affected than other areas of Houston. Here’s a photo:
