Julian Assange Agrees to Biden Admin Plea Deal

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange struck a deal Monday with the Biden administration, pleading guilty to a felony charge related to his alleged role in releasing classified U.S. material, according to multiple reports.

The 52-year-old reported agreed to the single criminal count of violating the U.S. espionage law by “conspiring to obtain and disclose classified U.S. national defense documents,” according to filed court documents from the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands, Reuters reported. Assange was seen leaving the Belmarsh maximum security prison in the United Kingdom where he has spent nearly 5 years being held up while waiting to be extradited to the U.S.

“Julian Assange is free,” Wikileaks posted to Twitter. “He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.”

“This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations,” the post continues. “This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.”

Video footage posted online captured the Wikileaks founder boarding a jet in England where he will return to his native country, Australia.

Files Disappear From the Phone of the Former Spanish Soldier Who Spied on Julian Assange for the CIA

One of the main pieces of evidence against David Morales, the former Spanish soldier whose company spied on Julian Assange and his lawyers during his prolonged stay at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, has disappeared. The Spanish police did not deliver to Judge Santiago Pedraz the complete file of the Samsung S7 phone used by Morales to communicate with the alleged CIA agents to whom he provided the WikiLeaks founders’ defense strategy, according to documents of the judicial investigation to which EL PAÍS has had access. After repeated judicial requests, officers responded that “they do not know” the location of the complete file. Judge Pedraz has ordered its immediate recovery.

Prosecutor Carlos Bautista has complained about the disappearance of this file, which he describes as “essential” to the case. He has demanded it be found “because it contains more data than that made available to the parties.” The Public Prosecutor’s Office said: “It is extremely striking that the police unit has delivered the UFDR (Universal Forensic Data Report) and UFDX (Universal Forensic Data Exchange) files from the other devices and has not done so precisely from this one.” Previously, the Prosecutor’s Office also complained about the “certain paralysis” caused by “the exasperating slowness of the police force involved in the analysis of all the elements seized.”

Judge Pedraz has summoned the officers of the Cybercrime Unit to appear in court and make a copy — in his presence — of both files on the Samsung S7 in an attempt to recover the omitted information and find out who is responsible for its disappearance. Spain’s National Police declined to respond to this newspaper’s questions. . .

During the search of Morales’ home and offices in the Spanish city of Jerez de la Frontera, in September 2019, the investigators’ primary objective was precisely to seize the Samsung S7 G930F phone that protected witnesses (company workers) had configured for Morales so that he could allegedly communicate with the CIA. This detail was communicated to the officers who detained Morales before the arrest took place. But the police handed over the complete files of all the phones, computers and electronic devices seized from Morales’ home and offices, except for the files on the Samsung phone. This police action has meant that the Userdata folder — which stored Morales’s conversations on WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Proton Mail and Skype — has been removed from the case.

Morales — the owner of UC Global SL, a company that was in charge of security at the Ecuadorian embassy in London — was arrested two months after an EL PAÍS investigation released the audios and videos that its workers recorded of the Australian activist inside the embassy. This material was presented as evidence in a criminal complaint filed by Assange’s defense team, and Spain’s High Court, the Audiencia Nacional, opened an investigation into the violation of attorney-client privilege, misappropriation of funds and money laundering. Elon Musk Asks if Snowden, Assange Should Be Pardoned, This Is What Twitter Followers Say

Former Central Intelligence Agency contractor Edward Snowden, a self-proclaimed whistleblower, as well as Wikileaks founder Julian Assange have been pursued by the U.S. government for years over accusations they leaked confidential and sensitive information.

What Happened: Elon Musk on Saturday ran a poll on whether Assange and Snowden should be pardoned. He said the survey was not an expression of an opinion, but was meant to honor a promise he had made earlier. . .

Snowden Responds: Quote-tweeting the poll, Snowden said he and Assange were charged under a law designed to prevent fair trials. This law was originally aimed at suppressing an old, anti-war movement, he noted.

“Defendants are forbidden from mounting a public interest defense, juries prohibited from hearing it,” he added. (Read more from “Elon Musk Asks if Snowden, Assange Should Be Pardoned, This Is What Twitter Followers Say” HERE)

British Government Signs Extradition Order for Julian Assange

British Home Secretary Priti Patel signed an extradition order Friday against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange so he can be returned to the United States to face espionage charges.

Assange has 14 days to appeal the order, according to a statement from the Home Office. Should Assange be brought back to the US, he faces a maximum sentence of 175 years in prison.

“The UK courts have not found that it would be oppressive, unjust or an abuse of process to extradite Mr Assange. Nor have they found that extradition would be incompatible with his human rights, including his right to a fair trial and to freedom of expression, and that whilst in the U.S. he will be treated appropriately, including in relation to his health,” the Home Office wrote in their statement.

Assange played an alleged role in “one of the largest compromises of classified information in the history of the United States,” the Department of Justice wrote in 2020. The charges filed in 2020 expand upon 18 counts filed in May 2019, broadening the scope of the conspiracy surrounding alleged hacking.

“Assange conspired with Army Intelligence Analyst Chelsea Manning to crack a password hash to a classified U.S. Department of Defense computer,” the DOJ alleged.

U.K. Supreme Court Rejects Julian Assange’s Request to Appeal U.S. Extradition

The U.K.’s Supreme Court on Monday denied Wikileaks founder Julian Assange the opportunity to appeal his extradition to the U.S., where he could face 175 years in prison on espionage charges for publishing classified documents exposing alleged U.S. war crimes.

The court rejected the request to appeal on the basis that the application “does not raise an arguable point of law.”

The case will now go to Home Secretary Priti Patel, who will then decide whether or not to authorize Assange’s extradition to the U.S.

Assange’s U.S.-based lawyer, Barry Pollack, said in a statement that it is “extremely disappointing” that Britain’s High Court is refused to hear the appeal.

“Mr. Assange will continue the legal process fighting his extradition to the United States to face criminal charges for publishing truthful and newsworthy information,” he said. (Read more from “U.K. Supreme Court Rejects Julian Assange’s Request to Appeal U.S. Extradition” HERE)

Doctors Claim Julian Assange ‘Could Die in Prison’ Without Urgent Medical Care

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, could die in prison if he does not receive urgent medical care, according to doctors in a letter sent to British authorities Monday.

Over 60 doctors have signed an open letter to UK Home Secretary Priti Patel expressing, “serious concerns about the physical and mental health of Julian Assange,” who is currently being held in a high security prison according to the Washington Post.

“It is our opinion that Mr. Assange requires urgent expert medical assessment of both his physical and psychological state of health,” the letter read. “Were such urgent assessment and treatment not to take place, we have real concerns, on the evidence currently available, that Mr. Assange could die in prison.” . . .

The authors of the letter are a coalition of doctors from from the United States, Britain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Sri Lanka and Australia, telling the UK’s Home Secretary that Assange would not be fit to stand trial by next year.

The letter went on to state that the Wikileaks founder shows “symptoms of a torture victim” and suffers from “major depression” along with “progressive inflammation and stiffness affecting his right shoulder.” (Read more from “Doctors Claim Julian Assange ‘Could Die in Prison’ Without Urgent Medical Care” HERE)

Wikileaks Founder Assange Indicted

By Townhall. The Department of Justice announced an 18-count grand jury indictment against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange Thursday afternoon, including violations of the Espionage Act. The indictment alleges Assange had a “role in one of the largest compromises of classified information in the history of the United States.“

“The superseding indictment alleges that Assange was complicit with Chelsea Manning, a former intelligence analyst in the U.S. Army, in unlawfully obtaining and disclosing classified documents related to the national defense,” DOJ released in a statement. “Specifically, the superseding indictment alleges that Assange conspired with Manning; obtained from Manning and aided and abetted her in obtaining classified information with reason to believe that the information was to be used to the injury of the United States or the advantage of a foreign nation; received and attempted to receive classified information having reason to believe that such materials would be obtained, taken, made, and disposed of by a person contrary to law; and aided and abetted Manning in communicating classified documents to Assange.” (Read more from “Wikileaks Founder Assange Indicted” HERE)

DOJ Charges Assange with Publishing U.S. Secrets

By The Daily Beast. In a stunning escalation of the Trump administration’s war on the press, the Justice Department has indicted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for revealing government secrets under the Espionage Act. It’s the first time a publisher has been charged under the World War I-era law.

The indictment charges Assange with 16 counts of receiving or disclosing material leaked by then-Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning in 2009 and 2010. The charges invoke broad provisions of the Espionage Act that make it a crime to disclose or retain any defense information knowing it “could be used to injure” the U.S. The act has no exception for reporters or publishers, but prior administrations have balked at invoking the law against journalists for fear of colliding with the First Amendment.

The Justice Department immediately sought to draw a distinction between Assange and the press in a briefing for reporters announcing the new indictment.

“The department takes seriously the role of journalists in our democracy and we thank you for it,” said John Demers, head of the department’s National Security Division. “It has not and never has been the department’s policy to target them for reporting. But Julian Assange is no journalist.” (Read more from “DOJ Charges Assange with Publishing U.S. Secrets” HERE)

Julian Assange’s Communications Partly Restored by Ecuadorian Government

The Ecuadorian government has decided to partly restore communications for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

They were cut in March, denying him access to the internet or phones and limiting visitors to members of his legal team. . .

The Ecuadorian government said in March it had acted because Mr Assange had breached “a written commitment made to the government at the end of 2017 not to issue messages that might interfere with other states”.

Wikileaks said in a statement: “Ecuador has told WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange that it will remove the isolation regime imposed on him following meetings between two senior UN officials and Ecuador’s President Lenin Moreno on Friday.”

Kristinn Hrafnsson, WikiLeaks editor-in-chief, added: “It is positive that through UN intervention Ecuador has partly ended the isolation of Mr Assange although it is of grave concern that his freedom to express his opinions is still limited. It’s Not Just Restoring Liberty: Now Google’s YouTube Is Censoring Julian Assange and Ron Paul

In the past few weeks, YouTube has made an unprecedented move to censor political outlets which they claim promote hate speech or extremist content. However, as Julian Assange just pointed out, peaceful anti-war politicians like Ron Paul are also being snubbed out in the name of controlling the narrative.

When standing up against an illegal war with a message of peace and liberty becomes a censorable ‘offense’ it’s time to start paying attention.

To not be so blatant about their attempt to quash peaceful anti-war messages, YouTube is employing a form of soft censorship. Instead of simply deleting the videos—which has happened to the Free Thought Project on numerous occasions—YouTube is moving to slowly strangle alternative media through defunding their accounts, limiting their reach, and informing new viewers that the content may be offensive or extreme.

Through employing these various soft censorship techniques, YouTube is effectively manufacturing the narrative. When certain opinions are suppressed while others are promoted, this is a de facto form of social engineering.

The establishment must control the narrative in order to control the people. Once society begins to question the status quo, those in power risk losing their grip. Make no mistake, what we are witnessing on YouTube and Facebook right now is a move to silence the peaceful opposition. Sadly, social justice warriors and the PC police are cheering it on because their political enemies are also being silenced. These folks would do well to remember that their speech will be next.

As the Free Thought Project reported earlier this month, this censorship is not a partisan issue. Those on both the left and the right are watching as the tape is slowly placed over their proverbial digital mouths.

“This is political censorship of the worst sort; it’s just an excuse to suppress political viewpoints,” Robert Epstein, a former editor in chief of Psychology Today and noted expert on Google, told wsws.

Those who’ve been paying attention predicted this crackdown and watched it come to a head at the beginning of this month, when the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) applauded Google and YouTube for taking on hate speech and extremist content while having the ADL be the ones who decide what gets flagged.

It is no mistake that this crackdown is also coinciding with a massive push by the mainstream media to stoke divide among the people. If you watch the coverage of many of these protests and counterprotests, you may come to the conclusion that America is on the verge of a civil war.

The reality is far different, however — at least for now. Americans, in general, simply want to be with their families, make a living, and be at peace with their neighbor. However, if that happens, then people start to wake up. So, divisive identity politics are shoved down the collective throats of the masses in order to create an atmosphere so divided that people never look up at who’s controlling them.

Disagreeing with the status quo is the new hate speech—speak out and you will be mowed down.

Below are the examples of videos flagged by YouTube as “Not suitable for all advertisers.” They are not promoting hate, violence, discrimination or anything even remotely offensive. In fact, it is quite the opposite. These videos are promoting peace and prosperity for all.

What’s more, this list shatters the paradigm of Trump supporters claiming it is only them being censored. Many of the videos flagged and “confirmed by manual review” are critical of Trump.

If these videos simply called Trump a ‘Nazi’, promoted the Russian hacking conspiracy theory, made fun of the way he talks or promoted some other superficial mainstream media narrative, rest assured they would not be flagged. However, they are critical of his foreign policy—which makes them critical of the establishment’s desire to spread war and build empire—so they are censored.

If ever there were a time to start moving to another platform or building a media network outside of the establishment’s control, that time is now. And, the good news is that it’s happening.

One such move is the social media platform Steemit.

This uncensorable network is a blockchain-based social media platform where anyone can post and read what they want — and even earn money. It works in a similar fashion to Reddit; however, instead of being banned or censored for posts, if other users like your content, you make money.

As the deep state continues to tighten its grip on humanity, we need to continue to resist through outlets like this one. Also, it has never been more important to inform your family members and friends of the blatant censorship taking place under their noses. Please, encourage them to seek out alternative media and bookmark it as those like Google, YouTube and Facebook — who have a monopoly on the dissemination of information — may make it all but impossible to find in the near future.

Please share this article with your friends and family to show them that it’s not just extreme content being censored on YouTube—the very idea of promoting peace is now under attack and we must resist it through spreading awareness before George Orwell’s slogan from 1984 is realized forever.

War is peace.

Freedom is slavery.

Ignorance is strength.
