Beaten Rep. Madison Cawthorn Rants About ‘Dark Maga’ and ‘Gentile Politics’

North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn on Thursday called for “Dark MAGA” to topple “the Uni-party” and shake up “gentile politics” in his first Instagram post since losing his Republican primary election on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old — who angered fellow House Republicans by suggesting that they do cocaine and invited him to orgies in DC — lost his primary bid to state Sen. Chuck Edwards, despite having former President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

“When the establishment turned their guns on me, when the Uni-party coalesced to defeat an America First member very few people had my back,” Cawthorn captioned a chart of people he considers “America First Patriots.”

“This list includes the lion share [sic] of figures that came to my defense when it was not politically profitable. These are honorable men and women who are the type of friends anyone yearns to have.”

Cawthorn listed Trump and a handful of conservative media figures and members of Congress as patriots.

TSA Confiscates Gun From Cawthorn at Charlotte Airport

Authorities cited Rep. Madison Cawthorn for trying to bring a handgun aboard a flight Tuesday.

The North Carolina Republican allegedly tried to bring a 9 mm handgun past security at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to WSOC TV. The Transportation Security Administration confirmed it confiscated a gun, and other sources confirmed to the outlet that it belonged to Cawthorn.

This would be the second time Cawthorn has tried to bring a gun past security, the first being at the Asheville Regional Airport in February 2021. He did not face any charges in that instance, though the offense could carry up to a $10,000 fine for a loaded weapon and a criminal referral.

Cawthorn, at 26 the youngest House member, has had several run-ins with the law regarding traffic violations in the past several months for speeding and driving under a revoked license. Cawthorn had a court date earlier this month as well as two more in May. His legal troubles may also now extend to insider trading implications regarding a cryptocurrency. GOP Congressman Responds to Published Photos of Him Wearing Lingerie

Republican North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn reacted to two old photos of him wearing lingerie via Twitter Friday.

Politico obtained two photos of the representative in lingerie allegedly at the Royal Caribbean’s Quest game show taken before running for Congress.

“I guess the left thinks goofy vacation photos during a game on a cruise (taken waaay before I ran for Congress) is going to somehow hurt me,” Cawthorn said. “They’re running out of things to throw at me…Share your most embarrassing vacay pics in the replies.”

Madison Cawthorn Allegedly Walks Back Lawmaker ‘Orgy’ Claims

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) allegedly admitted to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) during a meeting on Wednesday that his claims that senior lawmakers have used cocaine in front of him and that they have invited him to their homes for orgies are not true.

“Then all of a sudden you get invited. ‘We’re going to have a sexual get-together at one of our homes, you should come.’ ‘What did you just ask me to come to?’ And then you realize they’re asking you to come to an orgy,” Cawthorn claimed without any evidence during a podcast last week. “You watch them do a bump of cocaine right in front of you. And it’s like, this is wild.”

Cawthorn’s unsubstantiated claims set off a firestorm among House Republicans this week, which resulted in McCarthy having a meeting with Cawthorn.

Axios reported on the meeting:

McCarthy said Cawthorn conceded some of his remarks were untrue and “exaggerated.”
