New Details Released on Health of 5-Year-Old Thrown off Balcony

The 5-year-old Landen Hoffmann, the boy who was thrown off a third-story balcony at the Mall of America earlier this month, is “alert and conscious” following weeks of hospitalization after the vicious attack.

In a statement posted to the GoFundMe for Hoffmann, which raised over $1,000,000, Hoffmann’s family said:

All praise, glory and honor to God! He saved our son’s life and is healing him in the most miraculous ways. We are so elated to let you know that our son is now alert and conscious and is no longer in critical condition! We are now turning our focus to additional surgeries, healing, rehabilitation and eventually a return home, which we hope will happen by June.

We want to personally thank each and every one of you for your love, prayers and support. We are astounded and so blessed by the over 28,000 individuals and families, from literally around the world, that have donated to our gofundme page. Your love and generosity overwhelms and means so much to us! We have no idea where we would be without you – God and your prayers have sustained us.

As we have done before, we want to continue our plea and gratitude for your continued respect of our family’s privacy. The road to recovery remains long, but with God and you, we are assured to make it through. Please keep praying for our son and may our loving God bless you and everyone you love.

Man Throws Child Over Balcony at Mall of America

A 5-year-old boy who was seriously injured when he was thrown from a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America near Minneapolis remains hospitalized. . .

Bloomington Police Chief Jeffrey Potts said Sunday that the boy is “still alive and receiving care,” and that the family wants privacy. Children’s Hospital Minneapolis had no information to release.

Potts said during a news conference that the boy fell nearly 40 feet after a man who apparently didn’t know the boy or his family threw him off the balcony Friday. Authorities haven’t released the boy’s name.

Twenty-four-year-old Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, of Minneapolis, is jailed on a suspicion of attempted homicide charge. Jail records don’t list an attorney for him. He could be formally charged as early as Monday. Potts credited bystanders and mall security for his quick capture. . .

Court records show that Aranda has a history of convictions for misdemeanor offense. He was charged in two previous incidents at the mall in 2015. Potts said some of those cases were handled through mental health court, but he didn’t elaborate. At one point, Aranda had a trespass notice banning him from the mall, but it was no longer in effect, Potts said. (Read more from “Man Throws Child Over Balcony at Mall of America” HERE)

Mall of America ‘Looks Like Somalia’

Actor James Woods has a special knack for riling up Democrats and he has done it again with a tweet in which he posted a video of Muslims filing into the Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The tweet, which included a video of hundreds of Somali Muslims inside the mall in brightly colored robes and hijabs, comes on the heels of a vicious knife attack by a Muslim at the same mall on Sunday night . . .

On Tuesday, Woods tweeted the following:

Although it is unclear when the video was originally captured, “Nickelodeon Universe is a popular destination for Minnesota families, including the state’s sizable Somali-American population, particularly during Eid al-Adha, the biggest religious holiday in the Muslim world,” according to the Star-Tribun . . .

“Good lord. I thought this was fake, but it’s not. This is video footage taken at the Mall of America,” posted Charles Campbell. “Am I in Somalia?” (Read more from “Mall of America ‘Looks Like Somalia'” HERE)
