Trump’s DOJ to Toss Eric Adams’ Historic Bribery Case, Agrees With Dem That Charges Were Politically Motivated by Biden Admin

The Justice Department ordered Manhattan prosecutors Monday to dismiss the historic bribery case against Mayor Eric Adams — siding with Hizzoner that the charges under the Biden administration were politically motivated and hampered his ability to combat the migrant crisis in New York City, The Post has confirmed.

The new DOJ under President Donald Trump instructed the Southern District of New York to dismiss the case without prejudice, meaning charges could be re-filed in the future, sources said.

“You are directed, as authorized by the Attorney General, to dismiss the pending charges” against Adams, Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove wrote in a letter obtained by The Post.

The letter notes “independent reasons” as to why Adams’ case was being tossed — including that the case was retribution for him speaking out against the Biden administration for its handling of the migrant crisis.

“It cannot be ignored that Mayor Adams criticized the prior Administration’s immigration policies before the charges were filed, and the former US Attorney’s public actions created appearances of impropriety…” (Read more from “Trump’s DOJ to Toss Eric Adams’ Historic Bribery Case, Agrees With Dem That Charges Were Politically Motivated by Biden Admin” HERE)

Prosecution in Trouble as Trump Defense Traps Michael Cohen on Witness Stand

Defense attorneys for former President Donald Trump stunned observers in a Manhattan courtroom on Thursday with a devastating cross-examination of the prosecution’s star witness, former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

Trump is on trial for allegedly falsifying business records related to a non-disclosure agreement with adult film star Stormy Daniels (Stephanie Clifford) in 2016. The statute of limitations had expired for misdemeanor charges under state law, so District Attorney Alvin Bragg had to find a way to charge Trump with a felony. He did so by alleging that Trump falsified records to conceal a federal crime, though prosecutors have not told the court what that crime was.

Cohen had testified earlier in the week that Trump had directed him to falsify records related to the payments to Daniels, which Cohen borrowed money to pay from his personal funds. Cohen testified that Trump reimbursed him through a misleading legal retainer agreement, and did so to avoid reporting the payments to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC).

(Neither the FEC nor federal prosecutors have alleged that Trump committed any wrongdoing — possibly because previous prosecutions of politicians for similar payments have failed, and because it is difficult to prove that non-disclosure payments made to protect one’s personal reputation are primarily campaign expenses.)

Cohen, who has already been convicted of lying to Congress, unraveled on the witness stand Thursday as defense attorney Todd Blanche attacked key details of his story. For example, Cohen testified for the prosecution on direct examination Tuesday that he discussed the payments to Daniels in an October 2016 phone call. But that claim fell apart after Blanche showed text messages and call logs that suggested the phone call was about another subject.

Donald Trump Starts 4th Week of Trial: ‘I Should Be out Campaigning … Election Interference’

Former President Donald Trump decried election interference as he arrived at a Manhattan courthouse on Monday to begin the fourth week of his criminal trial.

The numerous indictments against Trump are meant to politically sabotage his reelection campaign, Trump believes, buoyed by reports of multiple meetings between the Biden administration and Trump prosecutors.

“I should be out campaigning now instead of sitting in a very cold courthouse all day long,” Trump told reporters outside the courtroom. “This is a Biden prosecution. It’s election interference at a level that nobody in this country has ever seen before.”

“This all comes from in the White House,” Trump said.

The establishment media recently acknowledged that opponents waging lawfare against Trump are failing to prevent him from completing the greatest political comeback in history. What first appeared to be a “wall of legal obstacles” preventing Trump from mounting the greatest comeback in political history now appears to be “little more than a series of speed bumps,” Politico’s Senior Legal Affairs Reporter Josh Gerstein recently wrote. Biden Tells the Same Story, Almost Word for Word, Just Minutes After Telling It the First Time

President Joe Biden told a story at a Manhattan campaign event, appearing completely oblivious to the fact that — just moments earlier — he had told the exact same story, almost word for word.

The story was one Biden has told numerous times in the past — about the 2017 riot in Charlottesville and how it had ultimately proved to be the inspiration behind Biden’s 2020 presidential run.

The White House press pool report addressed the issue, stating, “After briefly touting his economic record, POTUS reflected on his decision to seek the presidency. He told the story about the events of Charlottesville in 2017 as the reason for his campaign. A few minutes later, he told the story again, nearly word for word.”

The New York Post elaborated on the event, hosted by real estate heiress and billionaire Amy Goldman Fowler, during which Biden apparently joked about being happily retired before the events of 2017 transpired.

“You remember those folks walking out of the fields literally carrying torches, with Nazi swastikas, holding them forward, singing the same vicious, antisemitic bile — the same exact bile — bile that was sung in — in Germany in the early ‘30s. And a young woman was killed. A young woman was killed,” Biden began, before pivoting to former President Donald Trump and the oft-repeated lie that Trump had called Neo-Nazis and white supremacists “very fine people.” (Read more from “Biden Tells the Same Story, Almost Word for Word, Just Minutes After Telling It the First Time” HERE)

Manhattan Judge Sets Trump’s Hush-Money Criminal Case Trial for Middle of Primary Season

A Manhattan judge set former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial date for the middle of the primary season, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Trump appeared virtually in a court hearing regarding the criminal investigation into whether alleged hush money payments were made via forged business records, according to the AP. Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump’s criminal trial to March 25, forcing the former president to come before the Manhattan court room amid the highly contentious primary season.

The former president expressed frustration during his appearance, and threw his hands up when Merchan ordered him to cancel all other plans for the newly-scheduled court appearance, which could last for weeks, according to the AP. Trump took to Truth Social following his virtual courtroom visit, and argued the judge infringed on his First Amendment rights.

“Just had New York County Supreme Court hearing where I believe my First Amendment Rights, ‘Freedom of Speech,’ have been violated, and they forced upon us a trial date of March 25th, right in the middle of Primary season,” Trump wrote. “Very unfair, but this is exactly what the Radical Left Democrats wanted. It’s called ELECTION INTERFERENCE, and nothing like this has ever happened in our Country before!!!”

Ultra Liberal Church That Holds Gay-Friendly Mass Every Sunday Is Slammed for Hosting ‘God Is Trans’ Exhibit

A notoriously liberal Catholic church in Manhattan is dividing parishioners with a ‘God is Trans’ art exhibit, leaving one member of the faithful to suggest they were having an agenda forced on them.

The Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Manhattan is promoting a display called ‘God is Trans: A Queer Spiritual Journey.’

The church is noted for its embrace of the LGBTQ+ community and has promoted a ‘gay-friendly’ 5 p.m. mass on Sunday in the past, according to the New York Times.

Some who regularly go to the church told the New York Post that including gender ideology in an exhibit was a step too far.

‘The church should not be promoting this,’ said one parishioner. ‘I understand there are transgender people. I pray for all people but enough is enough.’ (Read more from “Ultra Liberal Church That Holds Gay-Friendly Mass Every Sunday Is Slammed for Hosting ‘God Is Trans’ Exhibit” HERE)

Alvin Bragg Won Election by Bragging About Suing Trump More than 100 Times

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, during his 2021 Democrat primary race, campaigned on suing the Trump administration more than 100 times, a video unearthed by the Republican National Committee shows.

“Let’s talk about what is waiting for the new DA — the docket,” Bragg said about upcoming future cases for the new DA. “We know there is a Trump investigation.”

Bragg then explained why he should be elected as DA according to his record of prosecuting Trump and his family.

“I have investigated Trump and his children and held them accountable for their misconduct with the Trump Foundation,” he said.

Indictment Backfire: Poll Shows Majority of Americans Think Charges Will either Help Trump or Have No Effect

New polling suggests that a majority of Americans believe a looming indictment of former President Donald Trump from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will backfire and either not hurt him or actually help him in his quest to retake the White House.

The results of the poll, conducted by Convention of States Action in conjunction with the Trafalgar Group, were obtained by Breitbart News exclusively ahead of their public release. These results appear to be the first polling numbers conducted fully after Trump announced last weekend that he expected to be charged imminently, and show the solid majorities of Americans believe the indictment will not hurt Trump at all.

A whopping 74 percent of Americans believe that an indictment of Trump either helps him or will have no effect on his presidential campaign — 37.5 percent said it will not affect him and 36.8 percent said it will help him. Only 25.7 percent of voters surveyed think it will hurt his presidential campaign.

“It’s obvious to the majority of Americans that former President Trump is being hounded by a politically motivated witch hunt designed to discredit him in order to render him a permanent pariah in American politics,” Mark Meckler, the president of Convention of States, said. “This tactic has never worked, and these early numbers already reveal it’s going to backfire. Voters either think his indictment and arrest will either have absolutely no impact on his 2024 bid, or that it will even boost his campaign.”

Broken down by political party of respondents shows a pretty consistent view across the board among Democrats, independents, and Republicans — though among Republicans those who think it will help Trump jumps up into a clear majority. Newly-Elected District Attorney Changes Rules for Who Can Go to Prison

Newly-elected Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced there will be no prison time in any case unless the defendant is found guilty of murder, other violent felonies, sex offenses, or major white collar crimes.

Bragg sent a memo to “all staff” Monday with new changes to the district attorney’s office, according to the memo.

“The Office will not seek a carceral sentence other than for homicide or other cases involving death of a victim, a class B violent felony … domestic violence felonies, sex offenses … public corruption … or major economic crimes,” the memo reads.

Charges that will also not be prosecuted include marijuana possession, trespass, resisting arrest, prostitution, and “obscenity” related charges, according to the memo. (Read more from “Newly-Elected District Attorney Changes Rules for Who Can Go to Prison” HERE)

Manhattan DA Isn’t Filing Charges Against Trump

Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance has indicated he does not currently plan to charge the Trump Organization with crimes related to allegations of “hush money” payments and real estate value manipulations, according to a personal lawyer for Donald Trump.

Ronald Fischetti, a New York attorney who represents the former president, said on Monday that in a meeting last week, he asked Vance’s team for details on charges they were considering.

According to Fischetti, members of Vance’s team said they were considering bringing charges against the Trump Organization and its individual employees related to alleged failures to pay taxes on corporate benefits and perks. It has been widely reported that those perks included cars and apartments and appear to only involve a small number of executives.
