Father of Georgia Shooting Suspect Arrested, Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter, 2nd Degree Murder

The father of the 14-year-old Apalachee High School attack suspect was arrested Thursday and charged with manslaughter and other charges.

CBS News reported that law enforcement sources indicated 54-year-old Colin Gray allegedly gave an AR-15 rifle to his son “as a gift … in December 2023.”

The specific charges against the father include “four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder and eight counts of
cruelty to children.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) noted that the charges “stem from Mr. Gray knowingly allowing his son … to possess a weapon.”

GBI called for communities across the state to encourage students “across this state to contact a member of their school faculty with any and all concerns of suspicious behavior that they may see.” (Read more from “Father of Georgia Shooting Suspect Arrested, Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter, 2nd Degree Murder” HERE)

Argument Over Parking Spot Turns Deadly

An argument over a parking space turned deadly Sunday night outside a crowded metro Atlanta Walmart, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Fadil Delkic, 49, was fatally shot about 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart on Scenic Highway in Snellville, according to the news station.

Troy Dennis Hunte, 27, of Grayson, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with the deadly shooting.

According to Channel 2, witnesses said the shooter and the victim argued about a parking space before the gunfire erupted. A single shot was fired, police said.

The scene was so chaotic, shoppers told the news station that families became separated. Some believed there was an active shooter situation, Channel 2 reported.

Onlookers Who Recorded Drowning Man on Cellphone, Taunted Him as He Went Under, Won’t Be Prosecuted

A group of four minors and one adult were charged last year after they recorded video of a man drowning in a central Florida pond and taunted him as he struggled to stay afloat — and even as he went below the surface for the final time. . .

Police said the individuals in question were on the bank of a pond in Cocoa last July when Jamel Dunn, 31, walked into the water and soon was struggling.

At one point Dunn was clearly heard crying out before his head went under the water — and that was the moment the observers seemed to enjoy most, as they responded with laughter and more mocking commentary. . .

The onlookers heard in the video were charged with violating an obscure law titled Failure to Notify the Medical Examiner of a Death, the station said, but after 11 months State Attorney Phil Archer said there was no way to move forward with prosecutions.

“Unfortunately, Florida law does not address this behavior, and we are ethically restrained from pursuing criminal charges,” Archer told WESH. “If the Legislature wishes to criminalize the conduct in this case, then new legislation will be required.” (Read more from “Onlookers Who Recorded Drowning Man on Cellphone, Taunted Him as He Went Under, Won’t Be Prosecuted” HERE)
