These US Hospitals Have Brought Back Mask Mandates

Mask mandates are making a return to some U.S. hospitals despite how unpalatable such demands have become, with locations in New York, California, and Massachusetts implementing the face-covering mandates.

At least one of the hospitals recognized that “a return to masking may be upsetting for some of our caregivers,” while another location wants employees and patients to know that it’s for the “the health and safety” of the community and encouraged individuals to get the next vaccine that comes out. . .

Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center in California simply cares about your health. That’s why the facility has reinstated a mask mandate after an increase in positive tests over a span of three weeks, the Press Democrat reported.

UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, said in a statement that “a dramatic increase in the number of COVID-19 positive employees over the past two weeks” was enough to bring back masks. (Read more from “These US Hospitals Have Brought Back Mask Mandates” HERE)

Biden Airplane Mask Mandate Ruled Illegal; Liberals Aren’t Doing Well Since Biden’s Mandate Got Struck Down

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden’s “Mask Mandate” on federal airplanes is illegal, a federal judge ruled on Monday in a setback to Biden’s COVID-19 agenda.

One day after taking office, Biden issued Executive Order (EO) 13998, ordering the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop the Mask Mandate, and for various other federal agencies like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to implement the CDC’s decisions. EO 13998 also covered airports and other public transportation, such as buses.

CDC issued its initial order on January 29, 2021, pursuant to Biden’s EO. Among other things, it requires almost everyone ages two and up to wear masks in airports and on airplanes, with certain narrow exceptions such as between bites when they are eating.

Various legal challenges have been filed against the mandate. (Full disclosure: The author of this article is also one of the lawyers on one such lawsuit, FRC Action v. Biden, which Breitbart News reporter Katherine Hamilton has covered.) Most recently, almost two dozen states filed a lawsuit raising several statutory and constitutional objections to the Mask Mandate.

Monday’s ruling was on one of the earliest cases, filed in July 2021. The lawsuit alleged that the Mask Mandate violated the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) on three separate grounds: First, that issuing the order is beyond CDC’s statutory authority granted by Congress in 42 U.S.C. § 264a. Second, that the CDC’s action was really a rule (i.e., a regulation) rather than an order, and therefore had to go through a process of public notice and opportunity for public comment before taking effect. And third, that it violates the APA because it is “arbitrary and capricious,” meaning that it was not the result of reasoned decision making. Liberals Aren’t Doing Well Since Biden’s Mask Mandate Got Struck Down

By Townhall. After a federal judge in Florida struck down the Biden administration’s mask mandate for most forms of travel including planes, trains, and public transit, liberal media figures did not take the news well.

While the decision was celebrated by many sane Americans and Republican leaders, Katie pointed out on Twitter that the double-standard employed by many liberals in the mainstream media.

Their outrage is especially confusing given the mandate was set to expire on May 3 after a 15-day extension by the Biden administration was announced last week. But that didn’t stop the Twitter storm from raging as the often-hypocritical members of the liberal media apparently ignore the fact that anyone is still free to wear a mask wherever and whenever they like, however silly they may look.

Republicans: COVID ‘Over’ for Illegals at Border, Not Americans on Planes

Republicans blasted the Biden administration following reports that the nationwide mask mandate for public transit will be extended another two weeks.

One lawmaker called the move “hypocritical,” while others highlighted the ineffectiveness of the mandate as well as the recent announcement of the lifting of Title 42 – a public health provision that serves as an essential tool in combating the spread of COVID-19 and controlling the influx of migrants at our southern border.

Insanity: Teachers Union Argues for Continuation of Mask Mandates Until May to Maintain a Sense of ‘Normalcy’

A Seattle teachers union is pushing for keeping the district’s school mask mandate in place until May, despite the state and county no longer requiring masks, arguing that the forced masking ensures a sense of “safety and normalcy.”

Seattle Education Association President Jennifer Matter told NPR-affiliate KUOW that the mask mandate should remain until at least May 1, two weeks after students return from spring break, saying there “should be no rush to lift the mask mandate.”

“We have people who are immunocompromised, we have pregnant educators, we have educators who have children of their own that are under 5 years of age that cannot be vaccinated,” she said.

This comes after Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee (D) announced last week that the state’s indoor mask mandate, including for schools, would be lifted beginning March 12.

Oregon Officials Propose Making Indoor Mask Mandate Permanent

Oregon’s health officials are moving forward with a proposal to make the state’s indoor mask mandate permanent.

The state has imposed some of the country’s most stringent COVID-19 restrictions, and is among a handful that continues to mandate masks in certain settings. An outdoor mask mandate was lifted in November 2021.

The current mandate requires anyone aged 5 or over to wear masks in all indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status.

But the rule is temporary and set to expire in February, prompting the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to propose making it permanent in order to allow the mandate to remain in place indefinitely. (Read more from”Oregon Officials Propose Making Indoor Mask Mandate Permanent” HERE)

Second Grader Suspended for Over a Month After Violating Mask Rule (VIDEO)

A Florida second-grader was reportedly suspended a total of 36 days and disciplined in school for violating the school district’s mask mandate.

Fiona, a student in Palm Beach County, was served her first punishment Aug. 31, according to The Free Press. Since then, she has faced other in-school and out-of-school disciplinary actions.

“Fiona has changed her priorities a bit and is on a mission to take back not only her rights but every American child’s constitutional rights from the tyrant school board being operated by a financial expert who has no knowledge of how to safely and effectively run the 10th largest school district in America,” Fiona’s mother, Bailey Lashells, said, reported The Free Press.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced an executive order in July banning mask mandates in schools. The order protected parents’ rights to choose whether or not to mask their children while in school. A Florida judge ultimately shot down the order.

As schools being to open for the fall semester in cities across the country, a number of Republican governors are bucking mask guidelines from the Centers for Disease for Disease Control for children. . .

Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Professor Dr. Marty Makary and Tufts Children’s Hospital Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Dr. Meissner did an analysis of the science behind masking children and found not only is it inconclusive, but that masking has detrimental effects on a child’s well being, social development and ability to learn.

Liberal Mayor Denies Violating Her Mask Mandate at Indoor Wedding, Photos Show Otherwise

Washington, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser denied violating her new indoor mask mandate over the weekend despite photos showing her maskless at an indoor wedding reception.

As Townhall previously reported, Bowser officiated a wedding Saturday at a hotel in the Adams Morgan neighborhood that featured hundreds of maskless guests. Photographs showed the mayor maskless at a table while not actively eating or drinking, a violation of the new D.C. mask mandate that went into effect that morning. . .

However, following the wedding, Bowser’s office denied that the mayor violated the newly reinstated mask mandate and instead said that she was in compliance with the rule and wore a face covering while indoors.

“On Saturday, July 31st, Mayor Bowser officiated an outdoor, rooftop wedding ceremony, followed by an indoor dinner.
