Can the Biden Admin Sink Any Lower? Ex-NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg Tapped for Pentagon Post

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been nominated to be the next chairman of a key Pentagon advisory panel.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced Wednesday he had selected Bloomberg to head the Defense Innovation Board.

The board provides advice to senior defense leaders on how to fast-track innovation to meet national security threats.

The Pentagon announcement noted Bloomberg’s “wealth of experience” as an innovator in business, government and philanthropy.

“With rapid advances in technology happening alongside rapidly evolving threats to our national security and the safety of our service members, our largest government agency must also be our most forward-thinking.” (Read more from “Can the Biden Admin Sink Any Lower? Bloomberg News Killed Investigation, Fired Reporter, Then Sought to Silence His Wife

. . .Bloomberg LP, has used nondisclosure agreements broadly to conceal allegations and silence complaints from employees of sexual harassment or a hostile work environment, as published reports have documented.

The story of one Bloomberg reporter and his wife showcases the widespread use of such legal restraints at the company — and how far their reach can extend.

Six years ago, Bloomberg News killed an investigation into the wealth of Communist Party elites in China, fearful of repercussions by the Chinese government. The company successfully silenced the reporters involved. And it sought to keep the spouse of one of the reporters quiet, too.

“They assumed that because I was the wife of their employee, I was the wife,” the author and journalist Leta Hong Fincher tells NPR. “I was just an appendage of their employee. I was not a human being.” . . .

The Chinese ambassador warned Bloomberg executives against publishing the investigation. But Bloomberg News published the story anyway. Afterward, Forsythe received what he and Fincher considered death threats relayed through other journalists. He and Fincher moved their family to Hong Kong, believing it to be safer. Bloomberg Reportedly Approached Andrew Yang About Possible VP Pick

Democratic candidate Michael Bloomberg has approached former Democratic candidate Andrew Yang about a potential political endorsement, going so far as to raise the possibility of Andrew Yang joining the ticket as vice president, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

(Via The Wall Street Journal)

Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign has made overtures to Democrat Andrew Yang, courting the former candidate’s endorsement and floating the possibility of Mr. Yang becoming his running mate, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

Aides to the former New York City mayor reached out to discuss ways the two entrepreneurs-turned-politicians could work together as Mr. Bloomberg seeks the Democratic nomination, these people said.

Mr. Yang, who dropped out of the race earlier this month, didn’t commit to join forces, as he considers his own political future, a third person familiar with the discussions said.

Mr. Yang didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. A senior Bloomberg aide said Mr. Yang wasn’t being seriously considered to be the former mayor’s running mate if he secured the nomination.

Bloomberg’s Cash Financing ‘Overtly Political’ Agendas in State AG Offices, West Virginia’s Morrisey Claims

Billionaire Democrat Michael Bloomberg has bankrolled a network of climate-change lawyers who are operating out of the offices of attorneys general in liberal states, West Virginia state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey claimed Tuesday, calling the Bloomberg setup “absolutely outrageous.”

“[W]hat you are doing is, you’re outsourcing who is running the government to people who are not accountable to the voters,” Morrisey said during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.” “It’s unacceptable on so many levels.”

There would be public and media outrage if a corporation like ExxonMobil decided to fund similar attorneys, but for the opposite reasons, Morrisey added.

“I’d like to take a moment just to point out, what would the other side think if the Republican attorneys general were to bring 25 lawyers in [who] were paid by ExxonMobil, and they report both to the attorney generals and they report to ExxonMobil? People would find that to be absolutely unacceptable because it’s unethical.”

Morrisey said what Bloomberg is doing equates to the “outsourcing of law enforcement powers.” (Read more from “Bloomberg’s Cash Financing ‘Overtly Political’ Agendas in State AG Offices, West Virginia’s Morrisey Claims” HERE)

Embarrassing: Bloomberg Ad Uses Obama-Era Footage of Caged Migrants to Criticize Trump (VIDEO)

Mike Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City and contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, released an anti-Trump campaign advertisement that included footage of caged migrants in 2014 — during the Obama era.

The Bloomberg campaign released an ad that was meant to highlight unflattering events that have occurred during the Trump administration, such as the white nationalist march in Charlottesville, Virginia, the aftermath of a Florida school shooting, the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, and immigration enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“America demanded change and change is what we got,” a narrator said in the ad, which then led to a montage of footage, supposedly all taken during the Trump presidency.

The campaign took direct aim at the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement measures, clipping images of Border Patrol agents doing their job and featuring footage of detained migrants. However, a review by the Daily Caller News Foundation found that one still image used in the ad was taken in 2014 — during the Obama administration. Bloomberg Created a Secret Tech Company Chock-Full of Former Facebook Execs to Take on Trump

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg created a secretive tech company before he entered the 2020 presidential election that was designed to help Democrats win congressional seats in 2018, CNBC reported Monday.

The former New York City mayor is using Hawkfish to help collect data on voters and promote his run for president, the report noted, citing communication with a spokeswoman with the Bloomberg campaign. Two former Facebook big wigs are involved in the venture.

Hawkfish will be the “primary digital agency and technology services provider for the campaign,” Julie Wood, the spokeswoman, told reporters. The firm “is now providing digital ad services, including content creation, ad placement and analytics,” she added.

“Hawkfish appears to have been assembled in secret. It has no public website. A search of elections databases turned up no financial records connected to work for other Democratic causes,” CNBC noted in its report, which also noted that Hawkfish will help Democrats running for office. . .

Former Facebook Chief Marketing Officer Gary Briggs is one of Hawkfish’s top lieutenants, the report noted. Briggs is not the only Facebook alum joining the cause. The former vice president of operations, Mike Buckley, also announced on Dec. 10 that he is joining Bloomberg’s team. Critics Accuse Bloomberg of Using Racist Trope Against Cory Booker

On “CBS This Morning,” host Gayle King asked Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg to respond to fellow Democratic candidate Cory Booker’s observation that in the upcoming Democratic debate scheduled for December there will be more billionaires on stage than black people.

“Cory Booker endorsed me a number of times and I endorsed Cory Booker a number of times,” the former New York City mayor began. “He’s very well-spoken.”

Very well spoken? Why are Democrats always amazed to encounter an “articulate” black man? Have they never met a black conservative before?

An inexhaustive list of high-profile Democrats who have used the trope of the “articulate” black man includes another Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden, who called Obama “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather described Obama as “very articulate” but said he “couldn’t sell watermelons” unless “you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.” Bill Clinton noted that just “a few years ago, [Barack Obama] would have been getting us coffee.” And former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was reportedly mystified by Barack Obama’s oratorical abilities, adding that America was finally ready to embrace a “light-skinned” black man “with no negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Bloomberg Campaign Manager Says Impeachment Probe Is Making Trump’s Reelection ‘More Likely’

Democratic 2020 candidate Michael Bloomberg’s campaign manager said Wednesday that the impeachment proceedings against President Trump are increasing his chances of reelection rather than damaging them as Democrats hope.

“I worry a lot that we’re setting ourselves here to impeachment, acquittal and re-election,” Bloomberg’s campaign manager Kevin Sheekey told CNN.

“You should be outraged by what this president has done, except it’s not helping in the places where this election will ultimately be decided,” Sheekey added.

The impeachment inquiry is “threatening” the reelection of swing state Democrats, Bloomberg’s campaign chief explained, warning that Trump has a “pretty clear shot” at winning the six states Sheekey said the presidential election is decided by, namely Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina Florida, and Arizona.

“The impeachment proceedings are making the president’s re-election more likely, not less likely,” Sheekey concluded. (Read more from “Bloomberg Campaign Manager Says Impeachment Probe Is Making Trump’s Reelection ‘More Likely’” HERE)

WATCH: Democrat Megadonor Michael Bloomberg Repeatedly Defends China’s Communist Party

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a billionaire and Democrat megadonor, was called out during an interview that aired on Friday on PBS’s “Firing Line” for repeatedly praising the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Bloomberg’s remarks came in response to a question from Margaret Hoover about climate change and how the United States can get India and China to be more responsible in reducing carbon emissions.

“China is doing a lot, India is doing some, but I think China is doing a lot,” Bloomberg responded. “Yes, they’re still building a lot of coal-fired power plants … but they’re now moving plants away from the cities.”

“The Communist Party wants to stay in power in China and they listen to the public,” Bloomberg continued. “When the public says ‘I can’t breathe the air,’ Xi Jinping is not a dictator, he has to satisfy his constituents or he’s not going to survive.” . . .

Hoover, however, did not let Bloomberg off the hook about his comments on the CPC being responsive to the people of China, saying, “the idea that the Chinese government is responsive to sort of a Democratic expression of fresh air, clean air … ”

Bloomberg’s Gun-Control Group Loses Mayors Over Deceitful Tactics

Photo Credit: ReutersNew York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is losing part of his arsenal of local leaders as more and more long-time members of his gun-control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns say they aren’t happy with the coalition’s trajectory and want out.

While the group apparently is growing in membership overall amid an effort to assume a larger profile in the national gun debate, it’s turning some members off. In the past five months, 50 members of the group have quit. Many say they did so because the organization abandoned its mission statement of going after illegal guns, and instead used its political clout to go after lawmakers who supported gun rights.

Most recently, the mayors of Rockford, Ill., and Nashua, N.H., dropped out after saying they felt misled by Bloomberg.

Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau says she called it quits after the group launched television attack ads against New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte. Ayotte voted against legislation that would have expanded background checks to cover almost every gun purchase in the country.

“I said, ‘Wait a minute. I don’t want to be part of something like that,’” Lozeau told The Manchester Union Leader. “I told them, ‘You’re Mayors Against Illegal Guns; you’re not mayors for gun control.’”
