Biden Admin Reportedly Worried It’s Only a Matter of Time Until Americans Are Killed by Iranian Proxies

President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly worried that the conflict in the Middle East may escalate and result in American troops being killed by Iranian proxies, according to The New York Times (NYT).

As the Iranian-backed Houthis continue to attack U.S. interests and commercial ships within the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, the Biden administration continues to weigh how it should respond, according to the NYT. The administration has reportedly struggled to strike a balance in its response, not wanting to cause the conflict to escalate into a war but privately, officials think “they may have no choice” if American troops die, the outlet reported.

“The administration confronts a problem without a risk-free solution,” Aaron David Miller, a former Middle East peace negotiator, told the outlet. “They don’t want to strike Iran directly for fear of escalation, which only widens the margin for pro-Iranian groups, including the Houthis, to strike at U.S. forces. At some point, if U.S. forces are killed, they’ll have no alternative but to respond directly against Iranian assets.”

The Biden administration has launched a series of retaliatory strikes on the Houthis in response to their continued attacks on U.S. interests in the Red Sea. Despite the Biden administration’s strikes, the Houthis have continued to retaliate.

Shortly after the Biden administration ordered strikes on the Houthis for the first time, the administration moved to put the group back on the foreign terrorist list. Former President Donald Trump’s administration marked the Houthis as terrorists in Jan. 2021, but after coming into office, Biden reversed the decision in Feb. 2021. Escalating Iranian-Backed Terrorist Attacks in the Middle East Heighten Concerns Over U.S. Response

In recent developments, the Middle East has witnessed a surge in attacks against U.S. forces by Iranian-backed terrorist groups, leading to growing frustrations among U.S. officials over President Joe Biden’s perceived lack of a forceful response. Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin reports that approximately a dozen attacks were launched within a 48-hour period, targeting various sites, including Al Asad Air Base, Mission Support Site Euphrates, Rumalyn Landing Zone, Patrol Base Shaddadi, Erbil, Green Village, and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

The onslaught, comprising missile and drone strikes, represents an alarming escalation in hostilities, with U.S. forces being targeted multiple times since October 17 by Islamic terrorist groups supported by Iran. Notably, these attacks have extended beyond ground forces, with missiles and drones being used against U.S. Navy warships in the Red Sea.

U.S. Central Command disclosed on Saturday that the French Navy successfully intercepted two Houthi drones in the Red Sea, originating from Yemen. The situation has prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to express concern directly to President Biden, indicating that Israel is prepared to take action against the Houthi terrorists if the U.S. fails to respond adequately. This warning follows repeated attacks by the Houthi group on shipping vessels associated with Israel.

Criticism of President Biden’s handling of the situation has intensified, with numerous U.S. defense officials expressing concern about the lack of a robust response. Critics argue that Biden’s approach, intended to avoid escalation, is inadvertently fueling an increase in attacks. Former CIA official Marc Polymeropoulos emphasized the need for immediate strikes on Houthi targets, stating that action is imperative.

Retired Vice Adm. John Miller, former commander of U.S. 5th Fleet, echoed these concerns, asserting that the U.S. is not taking the situation seriously, as the attacks have gone largely unanswered. Miller emphasized the failure to deter the perpetrators, stating that the current approach is not effectively preventing further acts of aggression.

U.S. Sending 300 More Troops to the Middle East as Israel Escalates Airstrikes

Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder announced Tuesday that the U.S. will be sending an additional 300 troops to the Middle East.

These soldiers reportedly specialize in communications and explosive ordinance disposal.

In addition, Ryder said that attacks on U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq have risen to 27 — 16 on bases in Iraq and 11 in Syria.

The announcement comes shortly after the IDF confirmed the death of a senior Hamas commander responsible for all military operations in the northern Gaza Strip.

Ibrahim Biari and several other terrorists were killed in an airstrike with Hamas claiming 50 civilians died, the Times of Israel reports. (Read more from “U.S. Sending 300 More Troops to the Middle East as Israel Escalates Airstrikes” HERE)

WATCH: Biden Enjoys Breezy Beach Walks as Middle East Explodes

President Joe Biden has been seen in pictures and videos enjoying a weekend of walks on Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, as Hamas terrorists pushed their campaign of destruction against Israel and the U.S. placed additional troops on prepare-to-deploy orders to the Middle East.

One short clip shows the octogenarian and first lady Jill Biden strolling the Atlantic beachfront on Sunday while a reporter off screen asks him about the release of Americans being held hostage by Hamas terrorists.

Biden cheerily waves towards the reporter but does not stop to answer questions before continuing his jocund seaside perambulation.

Major Chance of Escalation in Attacks on U.S. Troops, Pentagon Says

Iran and its proxy militias in the Middle East intend to escalate conflict by attacking U.S. troops based in the region, defense and military officials said on Monday.

Since Thursday, U.S. troops based in Iraq and Syria have endured at least 5 drone and rocket attacks, while Iran-backed Iraqi militant groups have claimed several additional attacks. The Pentagon initially said the incidents should be considered independently, but on Monday, senior officials, speaking on condition of anonymity to give a situational update, said they are part of a concerted effort by Iran to draw the U.S. into conflict.

“What has happened in the last several days is efforts by Iran and Iranian proxy forces in an attempt to escalate this conflict,” a senior defense official said Monday.

“We see a much more significant prospect for conflict in the near term,” the official continued, adding that U.S. forces are prepared for any potential escalation. The U.S. will “hold Iran accountable” for its actions, the official said. (Read more from “Major Chance of Escalation in Attacks on U.S. Troops, Pentagon Says” HERE)

Trump Says He Would Cut Off Funding to ‘Palestinian Terrorists,’ Pledges to Stand With Israel ‘100%’

Former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Iowa on Monday touted his Middle East foreign policy record and contrasted it with the instability under President Joe Biden just two years later.

“Making America Great Again must begin with making America strong again and making America safe again,” Trump said at a rally in Clive, Iowa, less than 100 days from the Iowa Caucus.

“Under my leadership, the world’s thugs, villains, killers, and savages were in retreat and running scared—all because you had a president who stood up for America, who stood up for Israel, and who stood up for Judeo-Christian civilization,” he said.

He went over his four years in office, which he said created “peace in the Middle East”:

In four short years, I obliterated the ISIS territorial caliphate. I terminated its founder and leader, Al Baghdadi. I annihilated the senior ranks of Al Qaeda. I eliminated Iran’s terrorist mastermind Kassem Solemani, who was killing our soldiers by the thousands and killing everyone else. I withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal, crushed the murderous Iranian regime with sanctions, and starved Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Iranian proxies of funding and support.

Saudi Arabia Set To Join Anti-West Bloc With China And Russia

Saudi Arabia is joining an anti-Western influence bloc formed by Russia and China, in a sign of Riyadh’s deepening ties with Beijing as the US pivots away from the Middle East.

The kingdom’s cabinet approved a plan to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as a “dialogue partner”, a precursor to being granted full membership, SPA, the Saudis’ state news agency, announced on Wednesday.

Formed in 2001 by Russia, China and former Soviet states in Central Asia, the SCO is a political and security bloc of countries spanning much of Eurasia and has expanded to include India and Pakistan, with a view to challenging Western influence in the region.

Iran also signed documents for full membership last year.

The SCO holds an annual summit to discuss economic cooperation and mutual security, often focusing on terrorism, separatism and extremism, though divergent interests limit the group’s effectiveness. Member states are planning a “counter-terrorism exercise” in Russia this August, though the SCO is not a military alliance. Democrat Plan Spends $870M for Border Security in Middle East, No Funding for U.S. Border Wall

A Democrat budget plan spends hundreds of millions of American taxpayer money on border security for a multitude of Middle Eastern countries while stripping all funds for construction of a border wall at the United States-Mexico border.

On Tuesday, the Democrat-controlled House Appropriations Committee released their Department of Defense funding bill that includes $870 million in taxpayer money for “border security” measures in foreign countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman.

Of that funding, $150 million will go to Jordan to help “enhanced border security.” Likewise, the budget allocates $500 million to be used “to provide assistance to the government of Jordan to support the armed forces of Jordan and to enhance security along its borders.” (Read more from “Democrat Plan Spends $870M for Border Security in Middle East, No Funding for U.S. Border Wall” HERE)

New Pentagon Chief Makes Tremendous Announcement Regarding the Middle East

It appears that the time has finally come for the United States to end its military involvement in the Middle East and bring its troops home, according to Acting Defense Secretary Christopher C. Miller, on Saturday. The new Department of Defense chief indicated that the country would work towards fulfilling President Trump’s promise to keep the nation out of “endless wars.”

In a written statement, Miller, who was appointed after Trump fired Mark Esper, explained that the U.S. would continue its fight against radical Islamic terrorist organizations like al Qaeda and others, but that the nation would halt major military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. According to the Washington Times:

“But he also made clear that the American mission must change and that the U.S. military must adopt a more supportive role abroad. His comments strongly suggest that he and other Pentagon leaders will mount an aggressive effort over the next several months to bring the bulk of U.S. forces back from Afghanistan and other nations abroad.”

“As we prepare for the future, we remain committed to finishing the war that al Qaeda brought to our shores in 2001. This war isn’t over,” Miller wrote. “We are on the verge of defeating al Qaeda and its associates, but we must avoid our past strategic error of failing to see the fight through to the finish. Indeed, this fight has been long, our sacrifices have been enormous, and many are weary of war — I’m one of them — but this is the critical phase in which we transition our efforts from a leadership to supporting role.” (Read more from “New Pentagon Chief Makes Tremendous Announcement Regarding the Middle East” HERE)

Donald Trump Announces ‘New Dawn’ Middle East Peace Deal

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump announced his plan for peace in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine on Tuesday at a White House event with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Together we can bring about a new dawn in the Middle East,” Trump said as the room applauded.

The president acknowledged that the field effort to make peace between Israelis and Palestinians was a historically difficult process but that he was determined to make it happen.

“All prior administrations from President Lyndon Johnson have tried and bitterly failed, but I was not elected to do small things or shy away from big problems,” he said.

Supporters of the president and Israel filled the East Room of the White House for the event, enthusiastically applauding throughout his speech. (Read more from “Donald Trump Announces ‘New Dawn’ Middle East Peace Deal” HERE)

Trump Leaps Into Middle East Fray With Peace Plan That Palestinians Denounce

By Reuters. U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday proposed creating a Palestinian state as part of a Middle East peace plan, drawing Palestinian condemnation for imposing strict conditions and agreeing to let Israel maintain control of long-contested West Bank settlements.

Trump announced his plan for Israeli-Palestinian peace at a White House event with embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu standing at his side. It includes what Trump called a four-year freeze by Israel on new settlement activity.

Although Trump’s stated aim was to end decades of conflict, the plan he advanced favored Israel, underscored by the absence of Palestinians from Trump’s announcement.

It seemed unlikely to immediately advance Israeli-Palestinian talks that broke down in 2014, but the plan was called “an important starting point for a return to negotiations” by the United Arab Emirates. Saudi Arabia and Egypt also offered encouraging statements. (Read more from “Trump Leaps Into Middle East Fray With Peace Plan That Palestinians Denounce” HERE)
