By Mike Huckabee. After Tuesday’s Nevada Caucuses, the opera may not be over, but the fat lady is clearing her throat.
Donald Trump’s 45.9% total in Nevada was larger than Cruz’s and Rubio’s put together. It was also his third straight win, and in states that couldn’t be more diverse, culturally, politically and geographically. Next week brings us Super Tuesday. If any candidate is going to derail the Trump super-train, it needs to happen then. One complication: polls show him leading everywhere but Texas.
Many establishment Republicans still cling to the slender hope that Trump has reached his ceiling; and if only all the other candidates but one would fall on their swords and quit, all their supporters would flock to the last non-Trumpian man standing. Sorry, but that’s a pipe dream . . .
Blasting Trump for not being a consistent conservative also won’t dissuade his supporters. It’s as simple as the old saying: “When you point a finger at someone else, three fingers are pointing back at you.” Trump’s supporters have heard for years that they had to vote for “consistent philosophical conservatives” if they wanted to shrink government, reduce spending, secure the borders and stop Obama’s leftist agenda. They gave the GOP both Houses of Congress, and what did they get in return? Obama’s Iran nuclear deal and a budget that funds every item on the Obama wish list.
It’s now obvious that name-calling and badgering candidates to quit will not work. At this point, there is only one way for any other candidate to beat Trump. It’s the same way a Republican will have to defeat the Democrat in November: by doing a better job of convincing voters that he’s heard their concerns and will act on them. Donald Trump Keeps Winning. Here’s What Could Make Him Lose.
By Alexander Burns. Donald J. Trump has snatched three straight victories, built a powerful lead in national polls and knocked several opponents out of the 2016 presidential race. His path to the Republican nomination looks wider than ever. But it could still contain pitfalls and roadblocks. Here are some of the ways he could still stumble . . .
In a race that began with 17 candidates, Mr. Trump has benefited from deftly playing his opponents against one another. With four left, he can still control the race with far less than a majority of the vote.
Neither Senator Marco Rubio of Florida nor Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is likely to give way willingly, or join forces with the other. And two long-shot candidates would still snarl efforts to unite the anti-Trump vote: Gov. John Kasich of Ohio and Ben Carson have plodded on despite their slim chances. But should the field suddenly dwindle to one or two rivals of Mr. Trump, perhaps after Super Tuesday, it would test the breadth of his support as never before . . .
The stage may get even tougher for him starting Thursday night in Houston: He can no longer count on a large field of opponents to shield him from a formidable puncher like Mr. Cruz, or from Mr. Rubio, who is also seeking to break through. By Ben Johnson. Inside the Beltway support for things like the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill, which funds Planned Parenthood, is the reason so many former Republicans are leaving the party, presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said in an interview December 23.
Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Huckabee said the bill – which passed both Republican-controlled chambers of Congress recently – “put a lot of people over the top,” because after “working hard to get Republican majorities in the House and the Senate,” grassroots conservatives fail to see “significant policy changes.”
“That’s why people in the Republican Party are just bolting for the door,” he told former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough. Rev. Franklin Graham recently announced he is leaving the Republican Party over the funding of Planned Parenthood, among other things. After Funding Planned Parenthood, Hypocrites in Congress to Send Obama a Certain-to-Fail “Show” Bill Defunding the Group
By Dr. Susan Berry. Next week, Congress is expected to send President Obama a bill that would both defund Planned Parenthood and repeal Obamacare’s mandates and the taxes that enable the law.
The measure has already been approved by the Senate, and House passage appears assured as well.
Associated Press reports GOP aides have said a House vote against Obamacare and Planned Parenthood is slated for January 6, just days before Obama’s final State of the Union address on January 12. Obama would have 10 days to veto the bill, which he has already threatened to do.
The annual March for Life – during which hundreds of thousands of pro-life activists will descend upon the national mall in Washington, D.C. – will be held January 22.
Republicans have reportedly scheduled a vote to override Obama’s anticipated veto of the legislation on January 26, though it is unlikely they will have the votes to accomplish an override. Still, the plan will garner media attention especially with the March for Life held just prior to the planned vote. (Read more from “Congress to Send Obama Bill Defunding Planned Parenthood” HERE)

By Mark Hensch. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says that “sin and evil” are to blame for the recent mass shooting in Oregon, not access to guns.
“You know, we have not so much a gun control problem as we do have a problem with sin and evil,” Huckabee told host Alisyn Camerota on CNN’s “New Day” on Monday.
“I think we always talk about what the weapon was, but whether it’s a pressure cooker or whether it’s a gun, we’re dealing with people who are either deranged or they’re very focused, because they want to kill people in the name of terrorism,” the GOP presidential candidate added.
“This is a matter of evil,” he said. “This is an evil thing, when people kill another person. It happens way too often.”
Huckabee’s remarks follow a mass shooting in Oregon last week that killed 10 people, including the alleged gunman. (Read more from “Huckabee: ‘Sin and Evil’ Caused Oregon Shooting” HERE)

Marco Rubio Addresses Gun Control in Wake of Oregon Shooting
By Amanda Andrade-Rhoades. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is now among the many presidential candidates who have weighed in on what might have caused the tragic shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, which left nine students and the gunman dead.
In an interview with Today, Rubio fell in line with most of his Republican colleagues and said that gun control wouldn’t fix the issue. “For example, these were not assault rifles; these were handguns that he had purchased,” he said. “The laws that many are proposing would have done nothing to prevent these attacks.”
Rubio suggested that the U.S. consider the role of mental illness, “which we need to begin to address more seriously, as opposed to stigmatizing it or, in some cases, trying to put it aside, and that’s a societal thing that we need to confront.” (Read more from “Marco Rubio Addresses Gun Control in Wake of Oregon Shooting” HERE)
GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is expanding beyond his religious liberty message as his campaign lays out Huckabee’s battle plans for the 2016 race.
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Senior Communications Advisor Hogan Gidley and Huckabee’s campaign manager, his daughter Sarah Huckabee Sanders, explained what the former Arkansas governor plans to do differently in the 2016 race than he previously did in 2008, arguing experience is on Huckabee’s side.
“You guys know at the end of the day, you don’t vote for someone you don’t like,” Gidley said, pointing to Huckabee’s high favorability rating.
To his credit, Huckabee has one of the highest favorability ratings among GOP presidential candidates according to a recent Gallop poll, which has him with a national favorability rating of 57 percent.
Even more impressive is Huckabee’s favorability levels in Iowa at 67 percent and South Carolina at 59 percent, which are based on an average of recent polls. (Read more from “Mike Huckabee Unveils Ground Game for 2016” HERE)
The controversy continues in Kentucky as Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis steadfastly refuses to issue gay marriage licenses in her office despite the Supreme Court’s insistence that she relent and issue the licenses. There’s been a lot said about the clerk, but former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has brought up at least one thing that no one else seems interested in discussing.
In a letter sent to his supporters, Huckabee is asking a series of questions about Kim Davis and her situation. One thing he notes is that Kim is a Democrat, something that few are mentioning, especially those in the mainstream media.
Here is what Huckabee told his supporters.
I spoke with Kim Davis this morning to offer my prayers and support. For those of you who don’t know, Kim is the Rowan County Clerk, a Democrat, who is under fire from the left for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses in Kentucky.
I let Kim know how proud I am of her for not abandoning her religious convictions and standing strong for religious liberty. She is showing more courage and humility than just about any federal officeholder in Washington.
Kim is asking the perfect question: ‘Under what law am I authorized to issue homosexual couples a marriage license?’ That simple question is giving many in Congress a civics lesson that they never got in grade school.

After Paraguay’s recent decision to deny an abortion to a 10-year-old who was raped by her stepfather, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was asked by CNN host Dana Bash how he would respond as fellow Republicans say that policy is “too extreme.”
The former Arkansas governor acknowledged during his “State of the Union” interview Sunday that what happened to the girl is “horrible” and a “terrible tragedy,” but then made a strong argument for allowing the child to be born.
“Does it solve a problem by taking the life of an innocent child?” he asked, adding later: “When I think about one horror, I also think about the possibilities that exist, and I just don’t want to think that somehow we discounted a human life … Let’s not compound the tragedy by taking yet another life.”
Huckabee added that well-known Pastor James Robison was conceived as a result of a rape, and that his mother “begged” doctors in the 1940s to give her an abortion — but they refused. Now Robison heads a Christian relief organization Life Outreach International which cares for “hundreds of thousands of people across the world,” Huckabee said, adding that none of that would have happened if Robison was aborted. In a discussion with Fox News’ Ed Henry, [Mike] Huckabee was criticized for flip-flopping on the Confederate flag issue.
“You say voters want a leader, somebody who will stand up,” Henry noted. “A few days ago, I saw you asked right here on Fox about the Confederate flag issue down in South Carolina and you basically punted, and said it’s a state issue.”
“Is that leadership?” asked Henry.
“I didn’t punt at all,” Huckabee said. “I think we’ve missed the real point in this. When I’m asked that question as a presidential candidate, what I’m being baited for is, is South Carolina a racist state?”
“And so what I said was, Ed, as a frequent visitor to South Carolina, I look at this objectively,” he continued. “You’ve got a female governor who is of Indian descent, you have the only elected African-American U.S. senator in the South from a state of 4.8 million people, elected largely by people who are mostly white. That’s not racism.” (Read more from “Mike Huckabee on Charleston: God Already Solved Racism” HERE)
In a powerful open letter to conservative leaders, Mike Huckabee says the United States is moving inexorably toward the “criminalization of Christianity” due to the “false god of judicial supremacy.” He explains:
Under the U.S. Constitution, we have three, co-equal branches of government. The Supreme Court is not the Supreme Branch, and it is certainly not the Supreme Being. Throughout our nation’s history, the court has delivered backwards, broken rulings. These nine, unelected Supreme Court justices have rationalized the destruction of human life, defined African Americans as property and justified Japanese-American internment camps.
Along with many other pro-family activists, Gov. Huckabee is worried that the Supreme Court will redefine “the institution of marriage, which has existed for thousands and thousands of years, would overturn the will of American citizens in more than 30 states who have passed constitutional amendments defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.”
The 2016 presidential candidate holds nothing back on the High Court, noting how it has rebelled against its Constitutional boundaries over the last fifty years:
The notion that the Supreme Court is an exclusive entity empowered to interpret the Constitution is a modern myth, which has flourished since the 1960s. I reject this idea as just another flawed, failed feature of big government, inconsistent with what our founders fought a revolution to establish.
Gov. Huckabee concludes by directly calling “on all GOP candidates to join me in this fight to defend the Constitution. If you lack the backbone to reject judicial tyranny and fight for religious liberty, you have no business serving our nation as President of the United States.”
Here is the full text of the letter along with the conservative leaders it was sent to:
Dear conservative leaders and pro-family activists,
I share your concerns regarding the Supreme Court’s upcoming decision in Obergefell v. Hodges. As you mentioned, any decision that redefines the institution of marriage, which has existed for thousands and thousands of years, would overturn the will of American citizens in more than 30 states who have passed constitutional amendments defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
The notion that the Supreme Court is an exclusive entity empowered to interpret the Constitution is a modern myth, which has flourished since the 1960s. I reject this idea as just another flawed, failed feature of big government, inconsistent with what our founders fought a revolution to establish.
As both an American and a candidate for president, I will never forget who I serve: my God, my country, and the U.S. Constitution.
I refuse to sit silently as politically driven interest groups threaten the foundation of religious liberty, criminalize Christianity, and demand that Americans abandon Biblical principles of natural marriage. I will fight to defend religious liberty at all costs.
I also refuse to surrender to the false god of judicial supremacy, which would allow black-robed and unelected judges the power to make law and enforce it, which upends the separation of powers so very central to our Constitution. Too much power concentrated in the courts is a threat to our Republic. I will fight judicial tyranny and return power to the people.
I call on all GOP candidates to join me in this fight to defend the Constitution. If you lack the backbone to reject judicial tyranny and fight for religious liberty, you have no business serving our nation as President of the United States.
Respectfully,
Governor Mike Huckabee

In the wake of the horrific shooting at Emmanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston, S.C., presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee said Christianity is the ultimate tool for achieving “true racial reconciliation” in America during “Meet The Press” Sunday.
CHUCK TODD: If you were president of the United States today, and we have this racially motivated massacre that took place in Charleston, but we’ve had some social unrest as well — a trust issue between African Americans and law enforcement — how would you be addressing this today, if you were president?
HUCKABEE: I think the best way to address it is the way we’ve seen from the church members at Emanuel AME Church. If you look at the pastor who was murdered, it occurs to me that here is a shepherd who laid down his life for his sheep, the greatest example of Biblical love, of Christian spirit , and when you hear the family members — as we heard in that very powerful interview earlier — it reminds us that Christianity is no this cartoon-ish, contemptible, laughable faith that people today try to marginalize.

Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is pulling no punches in going after accommodations being made for transgender people.
In a video released by World Net Daily and uncovered by Buzzfeed, the former Arkansas governor told the crowd at the February National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Tenn., that changes to accommodate men and women who want to live as the opposite gender pose a “threat” to society.
“For those who do not think that we are under threat, simply recognize that the fact that we are now in city after city watching ordinances say that your 7-year-old daughter, if she goes into the restroom, cannot be offended and you can’t be offended if she’s greeted there by a 42-year-old man who feels more like a woman than he does a man,” Huckabee said.
“I wish that someone told me that when I was in high school that I could have felt like a woman when it came time to take showers in P.E.,” he added. “I’m pretty sure that I would have found my feminine side and said, ‘Coach, I think I’d rather shower with the girls today.’
“There’s something inherently wrong with forcing little children to be a part of this social experiment,” Huckabee said. “I’m not against anybody, I’d just like for somebody to bring their brain to work someday and not leave it on the bed stand when they show up to govern.” (Read more from “Huckabee Won’t Be Bullied Into Bruce-Love: I Wish I’d Known If I ‘Felt Like a Woman’ I’d Get to Shower With Them'” HERE)
