Biden Open to Sending Ukraine Limited-Supply Missiles Capable of Striking Russia Within a 190-Mile Range

President Biden signaled his openness Wednesday to sending Ukraine long-range missiles following the completion of a two-day summit of NATO leaders in the Baltic state of Lithuania.

Biden, 80, was asked before boarding Air Force One in Vilnius whether he was “thinking about” giving the Kyiv government US-made Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS – pronounced “attack-ems” – which are in limited supply.

“Yes, but they — they already have the equivalent of ATACMS now,” the president answered. “What we need most of all is artillery shells, and they’re in short supply. We’re working on that.”

With a range of roughly 190 miles, ATACMS are capable of striking both Russia and the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow has occupied since 2014.

On Tuesday, France pledged to send Kyiv SCALP cruise missiles, which have an approximate range of 150 miles. The United Kingdom in May sent Ukraine some of the same weapons, which the Brits call “Storm Shadow” cruise missiles. Talk About Weird: Corrupt Zelensky Slams Corrupt Biden for Not Wanting a Nuclear War With Russia

Editor’s note: Zelensky’s desire for NATO security guarantees in the middle of his war with Russia has only one outcome: direct conflict between the U.S. and Russia along with an astronomically high chance of nuclear war. But the corrupt president of Ukraine seems giddy over the prospect of a nuclear exchange. Is that what his controllers want? Check out a discussion of a few of his controllers here:

Zelensky Goes Off on Biden Over NATO Membership

By Steven Nelson. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tore into NATO leaders including President Biden on Tuesday for not extending membership to his war-torn country — introducing fresh diplomatic drama into the annual gathering of the military alliance’s leaders.

Zelensky slammed the reticence as “weakness” and “absurd” just moments after Biden referred to the development of new language regarding his country’s potential NATO ascension.

“Now, on the way to Vilnius, we received signals that certain wording is being discussed without Ukraine. And I would like to emphasize that this wordxfing is about the invitation to become NATO member, not about Ukraine’s membership,” Zelensky tweeted.

“It’s unprecedented and absurd when a time frame is not set neither for the invitation nor for Ukraine’s membership. While at the same time vague wording about ‘conditions’ is added even for inviting Ukraine.” (Read more from “Zelensky Goes Off on Biden Over NATO Membership” HERE)

Biden Skips NATO Leader Dinner as Staff Cites Recent Workload — Days After President Lounged on Beach

President Biden raised eyebrows on Tuesday when he skipped the NATO leadership summit’s opening dinner in Lithuania’s capital, with White House staff citing a — relatively — action-packed schedule for the 80-year-old commander-in-chief.

Asked why the president gave the meal a miss, a US official said that Biden “has four full days of official business and is preparing for a big speech tomorrow in addition to another day at the summit.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken took Biden’s place at the dinner, which brings together heads of state and government from all 31 NATO member countries.

It was not immediately clear whether the American president was the only leader to miss the event, which was also attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The snub comes after Biden spent Saturday relaxing on the beach near his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., which some critics were quick to point out Tuesday evening. (Read more from “Biden Skips NATO Leader Dinner as Staff Cites Recent Workload — Days After President Lounged on Beach” HERE)

Biden’s Elevation of Woke Admiral to Top NATO Post Among Blocked Promotions

For a top position at NATO, President Joe Biden’s pick is an admiral who has been outspoken about increased opportunities for women in the Navy since 1993—and today advocates diversity, equity, and inclusion policies in the military.

In February, Biden tapped Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield for promotion to vice admiral and assignment as U.S. military representative to the NATO Military Committee in Brussels, Belgium.

Chatfield, 57, currently serves as president of the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.

Chatfield is among the some 200 military promotions being blocked by Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., in his effort to undo the Defense Department’s new taxpayer-funded abortion policy. . .

The top of Chatfield’s LinkedIn page touts her experience in naval aviation and DEI, saying: “Talks about #navalaviation and #dei.” (Read more from “Biden’s Elevation of Woke Admiral to Top NATO Post Among Blocked Promotions” HERE)

U.S. Congress Retaliates Against Conservative Hungary for Delaying Sweden’s NATO Membership

The United States Congress has blocked a $735mn arms sale to Hungary, which includes 24 HIMARS missile launchers, because of Budapest’s delay in ratifying Sweden’s Nato membership, Hungarian media reported on June 14.

According to The Washington Post, Hungary expressed interest in purchasing 24 HIMARS missile launchers, used extensively in the Ukraine war and sold widely to other US allies. Earlier this year, on the first anniversary of the conflict, the US Congress approved the delivery of state-of-the-art long-range artillery systems to Poland.

Republican Senator James E. Risch, the influential Republican leader of the Foreign Relations Committee, has blocked the sale to Hungary, stating that Budapest must approve Sweden’s Nato accession before obtaining the weapons. He expressed his concerns to the Hungarian government directly over its position.

Sweden’s application has been held up by only two Nato members, Turkey and Hungary. The ruling Fidesz party first claimed that parliament had other more important legislation to deal with, but later the narrative changed, saying that Sweden was spreading “blatant falsehoods” about the erosion of democracy and violations of the rule of law in Hungary and this argument was used as a pretext to delay the procedure.

Critics said the government was simply blackmailing its European allies in an attempt to unlock frozen EU funds. The strategy has backfired and has only strained the country’s ties with its Western allies, leading to further isolation of Viktor Orban’s radical rightwing government. Pentagon Probing Release of Alleged Secret U.S./NATO Plans to Arm Ukraine

The Pentagon is investigating how alleged secret U.S. and NATO plans for building up Ukraine’s military ahead of a planned offensive against Russia leaked online.

Versions of documents dating back to March 1 on assessments of Ukraine’s military strength and what Ukraine is expected to need before the offensive have surfaced on Twitter and Telegram, a messaging app with wide reach in Russia. The documents do not include battle plans or a date for when the push against Russia is expected to begin, but they contain a wealth of other information that had not been made public, according to The New York Times. . .

Since the war between Russia and Ukraine broke out last year, intelligence sharing between the United States and Ukraine has increased substantially. The documents that have appeared online, if authentic, represent a serious intelligence breach that could harm that intelligence sharing relationship.

Some of the documents appear altered to show the number of Ukrainian casualties much higher and Russian casualties much lower, according to the Times. The documents also include some information that has never been made public before, such as the Ukrainian military’s burn rate of HIMARS munitions, supplied to Ukraine by the U.S. military. . .

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the authenticity of the documents that have appeared online, but told CNN: “We don’t have the slightest doubt about direct or indirect involvement of the United States and NATO in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.” (Read more from “Pentagon Probing Release of Alleged Secret U.S./NATO Plans to Arm Ukraine” HERE)

Finland Set to Join Military Alliance This Week, Irking Moscow

Finland is set to become NATO’s 31st member, doubling the military alliance’s border along Russia in a strategic and political blow to President Vladimir Putin.

As will all NATO members, Finland will benefit from the collective security guarantee of Article 5: “an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all.”

The Finnish flag will rise between the French and the Estonian flags in a ceremony afternoon ceremony, completing the fastest accession process in the organization’s recent history.

NATO has said that it has no immediate intention to step up its presence in Finland. Some members have deployed troops there for war games over the last year.

Such assurances will fall on deaf ears in Moscow. Putin has long howled against NATO’s expansion eastward and partly used that as a justification for his country’s war with Ukraine. (Read more from “Finland Set to Join Military Alliance This Week, Irking Moscow” HERE)

President Biden Delivers Direct Message to Putin in Speech at NATO’s Eastern Flank (VIDEO)

President Biden on Tuesday challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to “end the war” against Ukraine, and warned that the U.S. and its allies around the world will continue to support Ukraine and push for new sanctions on the Kremlin.

Biden delivered that warning from Warsaw, Poland, nearly a year after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and a day after making a surprise visit to Ukraine.

“One year ago, the world was bracing for the fall of Kyiv,” Biden said. “Well, I just came from Kyiv and I can report Kyiv stands strong. Kyiv stands proud. Kyiv stands tall. And most importantly, Kyiv stands free.”

Biden stressed that a year after Putin’s invasion, NATO is “more united and more unified than ever before.” (Read more from “President Biden Delivers Direct Message to Putin in Speech at NATO’s Eastern Flank” HERE)

North Korea Calls NATO Chief’s Seoul Visit a ‘Prelude’ to War

North Korean state media on Monday denounced NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg’s visit to South Korea as a “prelude to confrontation and war.” During his visit, Stoltenberg urged South Korea to “step up to the specific issue of military support” for Ukraine.

“The trip of the NATO secretary general to South Korea and Japan is a prelude to confrontation and war as it brings the dark clouds of a ‘new Cold War’ to the Asia-Pacific region,” North Korean political researcher Kim Tong-myong charged in an article published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), an outlet controlled by the North Korean regime.

Kim claimed NATO has turned Ukraine into a “theater of proxy war” against Russia and claimed Stoltenberg is attempting the same strategy against North Korea by building an Asian version of NATO.

On Saturday, dictator Kim Jong-un’s sister Kim Yo-jong denounced the United States for promising to send 31 advanced main battle tanks to Ukraine. Kim said the offer crossed a “red line” and promised North Korea would “stand in the same trench” as the Russians against the United States.

“I express serious concern over the U.S. escalating the war situation by providing Ukraine with military hardware for ground offensive,” Kim said in a statement published by KCNA. (Read more from “North Korea Calls NATO Chief’s Seoul Visit a ‘Prelude’ to War” HERE)

The West Is Losing Weapons Production Race to Russia, NATO Ally Says

Russia’s defense industry has “almost doubled” its prewar ammunition production rates, according to a senior NATO member defense official who estimated that Ukrainian forces could face as many as 10,000 incoming rounds per day.

“Russia can still manufacture a lot of dumb bombs,” the Estonian defense minister’s permanent secretary, Kusti Salm, told reporters in Washington this week. “And dumb bombs are also 152 [mm] artillery that does the most damage in the battlefield. … Shooting 10,000 artillery [rounds] a day makes a lot of damage.”

That sobering thought punctuated a wider warning that Russia has vast resources available to conduct a protracted war in Ukraine despite sustaining heavy losses over the past year. And that assessment raised a corollary misgiving that Western defense companies have not taken the necessary steps to provide adequate supplies to Ukraine while preparing for future threats.

“The attitude from the industry [is] that ‘we will only wake up in the morning when you put the contract on the table,’” said Salm. “Our stocks are getting more depleted. So we’re not only on the uphill trajectory here with the trend. We are still going down. It needs to be reversed.” (Read more from “The West Is Losing Weapons Production Race to Russia, NATO Ally Says” HERE)
