The Next Early Nominating State Is Just Around the Corner — And It’s Not South Carolina

While all eyes are on South Carolina following New Hampshire’s Republican primary on Tuesday, one state will hold its nominating contests two weeks earlier — Nevada.

Nevada is holding a state primary on Feb. 6 and a party-run caucus two days later, but only one of the nominating contests will count for awarding delegates to the Republican National Committee’s July convention. While former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley will be on the primary ballot, former President Donald Trump is the only major Republican candidate competing for delegates in the Nevada GOP-run caucus.

“I know that some people got angry when CNN called Iowa before people voted, but you could’ve called Nevada months ago,” Jeremy Hughes, a Republican strategist based in Nevada, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The Nevada Republican Party had been holding caucuses in presidential cycles for decades until former Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak signed legislation in 2021 requiring a primary system for such elections. The state GOP has pushed back against the new law, deciding to hold the caucus anyway and award the 26 delegates proportionally through its results.

Republican presidential candidates could only participate in one nominating contest at the state party’s direction. (Read more from “The Next Early Nominating State Is Just Around the Corner — And It’s Not South Carolina” HERE)

Report: Swing State Spent Millions on Sex Changes

The state of Nevada paid $12.5 million for transgender medical services and procedures over the past eight years, according to documents obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services provided data to the Daily Caller News Foundation showing that from January 2015 to May 2023, the state paid $12,572,974 for transgender medical procedures, therapy and treatments through Medicaid and Nevada Check Up (NCU). The payments were for insurance claims tagged with “Gender Identity” and national drug codes, as well as for claims tagged with procedure codes related to transgender care, including surgeries, infertility, counseling and speech therapy, according to the documents.

The payments steadily increased by hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, going from $514,548 in 2015 to $1,142,131 two years later; by 2021, the state paid $2,244,951 for claims, according to the documents.

The number of Americans getting transgender medical procedures has skyrocketed over the last several years, with one study revealing that sex change surgeries for patients aged 12 to 40 jumped from 4,552 in 2016 to 13,011 in 2019.

Nevada paid $2,116 for speech therapy with a gender dysphoria insurance code from 2015 to 2019, according to the documents. For counseling services with gender dysphoria codes, the state paid $17,422 in 2015 and by 2022 it had covered $350,375 worth of state insurance claims. Nevada County Confirms Livestream Video of Vote-Count Areas Went Dark for 8 Hours

County officials in Nevada over the weekend confirmed that cameras live-streaming vote-counting areas on Wednesday night and Thursday morning went dark for a total of eight hours.

“We know that our election livestream cameras went dark overnight. We investigated what happened and how to prevent it happening again,” Washoe County’s Twitter account posted Thursday afternoon.

Unsurprisingly, the tweet went viral, racking up thousands of reactions, which included questions concerning election integrity.

“The livestream computer application lost connection with the courtesy cameras at 11:24 p.m. the evening of November 9,” the county said on its website. “All staff had left for the night about 60 minutes earlier and did not arrive back at the office until 7 a.m. Connection was restored at 7:53 a.m. the morning of November 10.”

“The courtesy cameras are connected to a computer application designed for livestream events,” the county site continued. “They intermittently lose connection with the application. When this has happened before, such as on Election Night when one camera went dark, staff was able to see the disruption and restore it.” (Read more from “Nevada County Confirms Livestream Video of Vote-Count Areas Went Dark for 8 Hours” HERE)

Perverted Double Life: Sick World of Chris Cuomo’s Former Producer Revealed

Fired CNN producer John Griffin allegedly led a perverted double life in recent months involving the “adoptive” mother of a 9-year-old girl in Henderson, Nevada, who was part of a sordid BDSM ring that included the child, according to court and police documents.

Heather Carriker, 48, of Henderson, was arrested on August 21, 2020, on two counts of child abuse, two counts of sexual assault against a child under 14 and one count of lewdness with a minor under 14.

Former Chris Cuomo producer Griffin is accused of flying Carriker and a 9-year-old girl described as her adoptive daughter to Logan Airport in Boston in July 2020 and then driving them in his red Tesla to a $2.5 million ski house in Ludlow, VT, according to a federal indictment filed in Vermont last week.

Carriker was one of several women claiming to be the mother of a young daughter whom Griffin contacted on kink websites about training the girls in “sexual subservience.” He allegedly paid Carriker $3,350, in part for the flight to Boston.

Griffin’s apparent involvement with Carriker came to light as part of a police investigation in Nevada spurred by the child’s biological mother, Catherine O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan, who apparently took care of her daughter some of the time, discovered a trove of disgusting text messages between Carriker and a man, called “Meet Man,” who helped set Carriker up with at least four other “boyfriends” for BDSM activity, according to the police report. The Most Sinful States In America Have Been Revealed. Number 1 Shouldn’t Surprise You

By Daily Caller. Nevada is apparently the most sinful state in America.

According to a study from WalletHub [see it below] based on anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity and laziness, the home of Sin City is also the most sinful place in the USA, which should come as a surprise to exactly zero people!

California, Texas, Georgia and Florida rounded out the top five. The least sinful state? That’d be Wyoming. (Read more from “The Most Sinful States In America Have Been Revealed. Number 1 Shouldn’t Surprise You” HERE)

Study from Wallethub Breaks it All Down

By Adam McCann. Red states and blue states may like to point to one another as the source of all that is wrong with the U.S., but the truth is that each of the 50 states has its own virtues and vices. For example, Missouri has the worst drug use problem. And it certainly comes as no surprise that Nevada is the most gambling-addicted.

But the cost of state sins is something we have to share as a nation. Gambling alone costs the U.S. about $5 billion per year. That’s nothing compared to the amount of money we lose from smoking, though – over $300 billion per year. Harmful behavior on the individual level can add up to staggering economic costs on a national scale. While many people want to quit their vices, it’s a difficult road even under normal circumstances, so the stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic make abstaining all the harder.

Infographic: Michigan’s Bombshell Allegations of Rampant Vote Fraud; ‘Historically Strange’ Spike in Incomplete Nevada Voter Files

By Doug Ross. Thanks to our magnificent Constitution, the various state legislatures have complete control of the electoral process. Not judges, not unelected bureaucrats, and not the “media” (also see: an infographic on Georgia’s provable vote fraud issues). ‘Historically Strange’ Spike in Incomplete Nevada Voter Files

By Washington Examiner. An analysis of Nevada votes has uncovered an unprecedented jump in problem voter registrations, likely providing the Trump campaign with another avenue to challenge Joe Biden’s victory in the critical state.

In an affidavit filed in another Republican election challenge, a “data scientist” found a huge surge of incomplete voter registrations and those giving casinos and temporary RV parks as “their home or mailing addresses” in the Third Congressional District that covers the southern third of the state and much of Clark County.

The expert, Dorothy Morgan, said that in her initial study of the records of those who voted, there was an “historically strange” jump in voter registrations missing the sex and age of the voter, making confirmation by poll workers impossible.

She found that in the last presidential election, there were 68 voter registrations missing the critical data. In 2020, it was 13,372.

What’s more, 74% of the incomplete registrations took place between July and September this year. (Read more from “‘Historically Strange’ Spike in Incomplete Nevada Voter Files” HERE)

State Records Show Deceased Voter Rose From the Grave To Cast Mail-in Ballot

On Oct. 9 this year, Fred Stokes Jr. was mailed a ballot in Clark County, Nevada, for the upcoming presidential election just less than 30 days away. Three weeks later, the county confirmed the ballot’s receipt on Halloween and marked it off as “completed.” There remained only one problem with Stokes’ absentee ballot counted on the fall holiday: Fred Stokes Jr. had been dead for three years. . .

Public records from the Clark County Registrar, however, show Stokes Jr. appeared to rise from the grave to vote in the November contest.

The Nevada Republican Party dispatched a staffer to the address shown on Stokes Jr.’s registration. At the address was a person who was told to be “a female resident” but who refused to share her name. She said Stokes Jr. had indeed lived at the residence but had passed away in 2017. She noted, however, that a man named Fred Stokes III was still alive and voted at the same address.

County records show Stokes III voted in person on Oct. 23, registered as a Democrat.

The revelation comes on the heels of a Nevada lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign Thursday alleging that upwards of 10,000 people voted who either live out of state or are deceased. (Read more from “State Records Show Deceased Voter Rose From the Grave To Cast Mail-in Ballot” HERE)

Man Believed to Be First in U.S. Infected With COVID Twice

A 25-year-old man in Nevada is believed to be the first coronavirus patient in the United States to recover from the illness and then contract it a second time.

The Reno resident experienced a wide range of COVID-19 symptoms before testing positive for the first time on April 18, researchers found in a study that was released Thursday as a pre-print. A pre-print means the study has not yet undergone a formal peer review.

By April 27, the man’s symptoms had subsided, and he received a negative coronavirus test result. Despite the recovery, more than a month later, on May 31, he was hospitalized and reported having similar symptoms to his first infection while also experiencing dizziness and a fever. A second coronavirus test was then performed on the man, and he tested positive.

“The patient had tested negative on two separate occasions in the interim. The genomes of the patient’s virus samples were sequenced in April and June, displaying significant genetic discordance between the two cases, implying the patient was infected twice,” according to a news release by the University of Nevada’s Reno School of Medicine. Trump Campaign Sues Nevada Over Mail-In Voting

By NBC News. President Trump’s reelection campaign is suing Nevada over a newly passed bill that expands mail-in voting for the November general election[.] . . .

The lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and the Nevada Republican Party against Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, a Republican, on Tuesday takes aim at Assembly Bill 4, under which all active registered voters in Nevada will be sent mail ballots for the November 3 election. The Trump campaign claims the measure “makes voter fraud and other ineligible voting inevitable.”

“Many of AB4’s provisions are head-scratching — particularly given the stark irregularities in Nevada’s June 2020 primary election, and because AB4 changes so many election laws so close to the 2020 general election,” the Republicans said in their lawsuit.

The legal challenge from the Trump campaign and the GOP claims several of the bill’s provisions are unconstitutional, including one that requires election officials to count ballots received up to three days after Election Day even if the date it was postmarked is unclear. They are also targeting two sections of the bill that dictate the number of in-person polling places for early voting and day-of voting, claiming the provisions will lead to more polling places for voters in urban counties than rural counties. Wealthy Donors Pour Millions Into Fight Over Mail-In Voting

By AP News. Deep-pocketed and often anonymous donors are pouring over $100 million into an intensifying dispute about whether it should be easier to vote by mail, a fight that could determine President Donald Trump’s fate in the November election.

In the battleground of Wisconsin, cash-strapped cities have received $6.3 million from an organization with ties to left-wing philanthropy to help expand vote by mail. Meanwhile, a well-funded conservative group best known for its focus on judicial appointments is spending heavily to fight cases related to mail-in balloting procedures in court. . .

The massive effort by political parties, super PACs and other organizations to fight over whether Americans can vote by mail is remarkable considering the practice has long been noncontroversial. But the coronavirus is forcing changes to the way states conduct elections and prompting activists across the political spectrum to seek an advantage, recognizing the contest between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden could hinge on whether voters have an alternative to standing in lines at polling places during a public health crisis.
