Former Judge, Wife Arrested for Allegedly Harboring Illegal Tren de Aragua Member in Their Home

A recently resigned New Mexico judge and his wife were arrested in a federal raid on their family home Thursday, after it was revealed they harbored an accused member of Tren de Aragua, according to a report.

Former Democratic Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Jose “Joel” Cano and his wife, Nancy Cano, each face two charges of evidence tampering for allegedly harboring Cristhian Ortega-Lopez — an accused illegal migrant who federal officials say is a member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, Fox News reported.

“Under President Trump, we have arrested over 150,000 aliens — including more than 600 members of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told the outlet.

On Feb. 28, Ortega-Lopez, 23, was apprehended during an ICE raid at the judge’s tony Las Cruces, NM, residence where the suspected gangbanger lived in a guesthouse after first ingratiating himself as a handyman, Fox News reported citing court documents.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court of New Mexico permanently banned Cano from serving on the bench due to the February arrest of Ortega-Lopez. The judge had resigned from the bench in March. Supreme Court Rejects Former New Mexico Official Banned After Jan. 6 Riot

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday tossed an appeal by a former New Mexico state official barred from office after he was involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol Building.

Former Otero County commissioner Couy Griffin, a cowboy pastor whose claim to fame was endorsing former President Donald Trump with several horseback caravans, is a former Otero County commissioner and the only elected official barred from office under the “insurrection” provision of the 14th Amendment, the Associated Press reported.

During a 2022 trial in a state district court, Griffin became the first individual in over a century to be disqualified from office under a provision of the 14th Amendment aimed at preventing former Confederates from holding government positions after the Civil War.

Despite the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that states cannot prevent Trump or other federal office candidates from appearing on the ballot, the justices clarified that distinct rules apply to state and local candidates, the AP report noted.

Judge Blocks Part of New Mexico Order Restricting Gun Rights; Dem Governor Responds

A federal judge ruled against the emergency public health order, issued by Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, repealing open and concealed carry rights in the largest county of New Mexico.

U.S. District Judge David Urias issued the judgment on Wednesday after numerous gun rights groups and advocates had filed lawsuits against the restrictions. The ruling temporarily suspends the order restricting gun rights until Oct. 3, when a hearing will be held to consider the merits of arguments for and against the ban.

Grisham released a statement on her official social media page about the ruling.

“Today a judge temporarily blocked sections of our public health order but recognized the significant problem of gun violence in this state. I refuse to be resigned to the status quo, and I will never stop fighting to prevent other families from enduring these tragedies,” she wrote.

“To be clear: gun violence and drug abuse are acute threats to public health and safety in this state,” Grisham continued. “We will stay the course by increasing State Police presence in Bernalillo County, arresting the hundreds of violent offenders with outstanding warrants still on our streets, and directing our healthcare system to immediately expand capacity to accept persons experiencing drug addiction and homelessness.” (Read more from “Judge Blocks Part of New Mexico Order Restricting Gun Rights; Dem Governor Responds” HERE)

Dem Governor Suspends 2nd Amendment Rights: Declares ‘Emergency’ to Ban Concealed Carry (VIDEO)

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) issued an order Friday suspending, for 30 days, state residents’ rights to carry guns for self-defense in Albuquerque.

The ban applies to concealed and open carry.

The Associated Press reported that the governor made the move in response to gun violence in the city of Albuquerque.

KOB4 noted the ban on carrying guns begins September 8 and runs for 30 days, after which the governor will make a decision about extending it.

When questioned about her order’s impact on the Second Amendment, the governor stressed her belief that “no constitutional right … is intended to be absolute.”

State Referring Women to Satanic Temple Provider for Abortions

The New Mexico government is reportedly referring women seeking to terminate their pregnancies to the Satanic Temple’s TST Health, which offers an “abortion ritual,” according to the New Mexico Alliance for Life.

In a press release on Tuesday, the New Mexico Alliance for Life announced that it has discovered that the state is actively referring women to the Satanic Temple Health (TST Health) via the state’s hotline, which is funded by taxpayers. The pro-life organization discovered this through what it described as a public records inspection.

The Satanic Temple’s TST Health, described as a “collaborative of reproductive rights advocates and abortion care providers contracted and directed by The Satanic Temple to advance its Reproductive Religious Rights Campaign,” openly boasts of its goal to expand access for mothers to end the lives of their unborn children. Earlier this year, the Satanic Temple touted the creation of the “world’s first religious abortion clinic,” which includes offerings of “abortion rituals.”

As Breitbart News detailed:

TST Health describes the “Abortion Ritual” as a “protective rite” designed to “cast off unwanted feelings” associated with taking the life of an unborn child. According to TST Health, the ritual involves spoken words exclusively and includes reciting the third tenet of the Satanic Temple — “One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone” — and the fifth — “Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.”

Police Release Body Camera Footage After Shooting Homeowner at Wrong Address (VIDEO)

Police in New Mexico have released body camera footage after officers shot and killed a homeowner and shot at the man’s wife earlier this month while responding to the wrong address.

On April 5, at about 11:30 p.m., the Farmington Police Department’s dispatch sent officers to 5308 Valley View Avenue due to a domestic violence call. However, officers walked past the correct house, which was illuminated by an outside light, up to the front door of 5305 Valley View Avenue, knocked on the door, and announced themselves. It was only minutes later that shots were fired.

In the body camera footage, officers can be heard repeatedly announcing who they are, but they receive no response. They then ask a dispatcher to confirm the address. The dispatcher tells them the correct address, “5308,” which was diagonal from the house where they were knocking.

Shortly after, the homeowner, Robert Dotson, 52, opened the door with a handgun, and the officers immediately began shooting as they backed away. ‘Cowboys for Trump’ Co-founder Removed From Office Over Involvement in Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

A New Mexico state judge used a 14th Amendment provision Tuesday to order the removal of an Otero County official, who co-founded Cowboys for Trump, from public office due to his presence at the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021.

Judge Francis Mathew of the 1st Judicial District Court in Santa Fe, New Mexico, disqualified Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin from his post effective immediately under Section Three of the 14th Amendment. The clause prohibits those sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution from holding federal or state office if they “have engaged in insurrection or rebellion.”

U.S. officials ratified the provision initially meant to prevent members of the Confederacy from serving in public office shortly after the Civil War.

Mathew wrote in a 49-page decision that Griffin “engaged in … the attack on the United States Capitol and surrounding planning, mobilization, and incitement were an ‘insurrection’ against the Constitution of the United States” just before Congress was scheduled on January 6 to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election. Possible Serial Killer Targeting Muslims on the Lam

Authorities are investigating the possibility that a serial killer has been hunting Muslim people in Albuquerque, New Mexico after four men of the faith were murdered there in the past year.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said Saturday that she deployed additional state police to help with the probe into the “targeted killings.”

“The targeted killings of Muslim residents of Albuquerque is deeply angering and wholly intolerable,” she wrote on Twitter.

“We will not stop in our pursuit of justice for the victims and their families and are bringing every resource to bear to apprehend the killer or killers — and we WILL find them,” the Democrat said in a statement.

By National Review. The FBI has launched an investigation into the alleged assault of a female soldier perpetrated by a group of male Afghan refugees being lodged at a New Mexico military complex.

The agency is pursuing a tip originating from the Fort Bliss Afghan refugee housing complex in New Mexico that a female service member, whose identity has not been revealed, was attacked on September 19 by a “small group of male evacuees,” Fox News first reported following receipt of confirmation from the FBI. . .

“We can confirm a female service member supporting Operation Allies Welcome reported being assaulted on Sept. 19 by a small group of male evacuees at the Doña Ana Complex in New Mexico,” the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss Public Affairs wrote in a statement obtained by Fox News. “We take the allegation seriously and appropriately referred the matter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The safety and well-being of our service members, as well as all of those on our installations, is paramount. . .

In the wake of the botched U.S. military withdrawal and evacuation from Afghanistan, some Republican lawmakers have warned of the dangers of admitting thousands of Afghan refugees into the country for safe haven without proper vetting procedures. Some immigration scholars have contended that the extremely rushed and haphazard circumstances surrounding the pullout made it more difficult to conduct thorough screening of evacuees. Potentially, individuals extracted from Kabul who carry questionable backgrounds or even criminal records could still be resettled in the U.S., they’ve claimed. Situation Becoming ‘Dire’ at U.S. Airbase Housing Approximately 2,000 Pregnant Afghan Refugees

The task of accommodating 10,000 Afghan refugees, including approximately 2,000 pregnant women, is putting facilities at Ramstein airbase in Germany under tremendous strain as nighttime temperatures drop toward freezing and what was meant to be a 10-day temporary stay is stretching into weeks, with one US source familiar with the situation describing it as becoming “dire.”

Already 22 babies have been born to Afghan mothers at Ramstein, and that number will rise very soon with roughly two thirds of the 3,000 women being housed there pregnant, requiring the time and effort of medical personnel from Ramstein and other bases, two US sources familiar with the situation at the base told CNN.

Even though it’s one of the largest US bases in Europe, Ramstein was never designed to handle such a large transient population especially when there are better equipped and larger facilities in the US. Cruz, GOP Senators Press Biden on Afghan ‘Child Brides’ Among Refugees

By Fox News. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas led a letter with three of his GOP Senate colleagues pressing President Biden on “child brides” reportedly found among Afghan refugees.

Cruz, alongside fellow Republican senators Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, demanded answers from the president on the reports that “child brides” had evacuated from Afghanistan to the U.S.

“We write regarding credible reports that your administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan facilitated the transport and trafficking of child brides and other Afghan girls subject to sexual abuse by Afghan men,” the senators began the letter, exclusively obtained by Fox News.

“We are deeply concerned that your withdrawal has imported an acute human rights crisis to our country, in part because you and your administration appear to have been wholly unprepared for the scope and nature of the operation,” they added.

Muslim Terrorists in New Mexico Tied to Dems

By WND. A federal grand jury in New Mexico has indicted five Muslims who allegedly trained children to carry out school massacres on terrorism-related offenses, conspiracy to commit murder and kidnapping.

The five were arrested Aug. 3, 2018, after authorities in a raid found 11 hungry children living in squalid conditions in a remote, makeshift training compound.

The leader, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, is the son of Imam Siraj Wahhaj, a former board member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations who is on record urging a violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government. The elder Wahhaj gave an opening prayer at an event at the Democratic National Convention in 2012, pointed out Matthew Vadum in an column for FrontPage Magazine. The imam also has been called a spiritual adviser to jihad promoter and Bernie Sanders supporter Linda Sarsour. Vadum wrote that the “openly anti-Semitic Sarsour sits on the board of the Women’s March organization and openly admits membership in America’s largest Marxist group, the Democratic Socialists of America.” . . .

The defendants previously were indicted on weapons and conspiracy charges. The new indictment, issued Thursday, alleges “the defendants conspired to provide material support in preparation for violent attacks against federal law enforcement officers and members of the military,” said Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers. . .

The defendants, along with Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, are Jany Leveille, Hujrah Wahhaj, Subhanah Wahhaj and Lucas Morton. Leveille, Wahhaj’s “Islamic wife,” is an illegal immigrant from Haiti who also is under investigation by federal immigration authorities for overstaying her non-immigrant visitor visa. Defendants in New Mexico Compound Case Hit With New Charges

Five people taken into custody in August at a New Mexico compound where 11 children were found ragged and starving have been charged with a conspiracy to carry out attacks on U.S. targets, federal prosecutors said on Thursday.The superseding indictment adds to firearms offenses already filed against the defendants in U.S. District Court following a raid at the makeshift training camp where a 3-year-old boy was found buried. . .

“These allegations remind us of the dangers of terrorism that continue to confront our nation, and the allegation concerning the death of a young child only underscores the importance of prompt and effective intervention by law enforcement,” Anderson said.

Federal public defender Kari Converse, a lead attorney for the defendants in the case, said she was out of state on Thursday and could not comment on the superseding indictment until she had studied it more thoroughly.
