Stop the Press: New York Post Banned From Biden Event as Hunter Indictment Looms

The White House press office barred The Post from attending President Biden’s only daytime public event Monday as federal prosecutors near a decision on criminally charging first son Hunter Biden for tax fraud and other crimes.

The Post has closely covered the president’s ties to his relatives’ foreign dealings and first reported in October 2020 on files from Hunter’s abandoned laptop that link Joe Biden to ventures in China and Ukraine.

Biden, who falsely characterized The Post’s reporting as Russian disinformation, appeared with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to talk about airline policies in the White House-adjacent Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

Biden ultimately took no shouted questions at the venue, which houses the set of a “fake” White House and about 50 theater-style seats for reporters — about 20 of which were empty Monday.

In the same room this February, Biden chose to answer The Post’s query about whether his family’s links to China compromised his ability to steer US policy. He fumed about the lack of “polite” reporters and stormed out. (Read more from “Stop the Press: New York Post Banned From Biden Event as Hunter Indictment Looms” HERE)

Big Tech Again Silences The New York Post for Reporting the Truth

. . .On Thursday, Facebook decided its users should not be able to share a New York Post article about the property buying habits of one of the founders of Black Lives Matter.

This is the third time we’ve tangled with social media giants in the past year. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we published a column that suggested the virus could have leaked from a Chinese virology lab. Facebook’s “fact checkers” decided this was an opinion you weren’t allowed to have, and blocked the article. Today, it’s a commonly discussed theory, with officials from former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield to CNN’s Sanjay Gupta saying it can’t be discounted. Even the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has said it can’t be ruled out.

In October, we published a series of articles about a laptop Hunter Biden left at a Delaware repair shop. Twitter suspended our account. You probably know how that ended. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey admitted to lawmakers months later it was a “total mistake.”

We were right both times. We’re right this time, too.

The $3.2 million real estate spending spree of BLM co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors is newsworthy for two reasons. One, she’s an avowed Marxist, and as a public figure, it’s legitimate to question whether she’s practicing what she preaches. Secondly, as the article details, the finances of Black Lives Matter are opaque, a mixture of for-profits and tax-free nonprofits, and they don’t reveal how much its executives are paid. Are the people donating to BLM helping to pay for these properties? (Read more from “Big Tech Again Silences The New York Post for Reporting the Truth” HERE)

Twitter CEO: Company Was ‘Wrong’ to Censor Hunter Biden Story (VIDEO)

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Tuesday that Twitter was “wrong” to censor the New York Post and its news stories on Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

Dorsey appeared virtually on Capitol Hill to testify over his company’s enforcement actions against the news outlet, as well as on other issues related to social media censorship. Dorsey was called to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee over why his social media company chose to censor news stories on the son of the Democratic nominee for president weeks away from an election.

“We were called here today because of an enforcement decision we made against the New York Post based on a policy we created in 2018 to prevent Twitter from being used to spread hacked materials. This resulted in us blocking people from sharing a New York Post article publicly or privately,” Dorsey said. “We made a quick interpretation using no other evidence that the materials in the article were obtained through hacking, and according to our policy, we blocked them from being spread. Upon further consideration, we admitted this action was wrong and corrected it within 24 hours.” . . .

The social media company censored the story, preventing anyone from tweeting or direct messaging the article’s URL. The platform also locked accounts that shared the article. Dorsey later admitted that his company’s actions, first taken without giving an explanation, were “not great,” but refused to unlock the Post’s Twitter account for weeks afterward, even after reversing course on their “hacked materials” justification for censoring the story.

New York Post Locked Out of Twitter Account for Two Weeks Over Refusing To Delete Hunter Biden Laptop Posts

The New York Post, one of the country’s largest newspapers, has been locked out of its Twitter account by the tech giant for two weeks.

Twitter locked the outlet out of its account for publishing and sharing stories about materials from a laptop that purportedly belonged to Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Emma-Jo Morris, the New York Post’s deputy politics editor and one of the two journalists with a byline on the stories about the laptop and its hard drive, documented the timeline in a tweet.

“The Democratic nominee for President is calling this story a ‘Russian disinformation campaign.’ Twitter has revoked NY Post account access for 2 weeks over it,” she wrote.

The Washington Examiner has repeatedly reached out to Twitter to see if there are ongoing deliberations about the social media company changing its enforcement decision now that the site’s guidelines on hacked materials have changed.

Twitter has not responded to most requests for comment but has said on occasion that it is not retroactively changing its enforcement decisions and is requiring the outlet to delete old tweets containing the story that it said were in violation of its old policies.
