Newt Gingrich Has a Strategy to Destroy ISIS

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told a group of Iowa Republicans on Wednesday afternoon that if ISIS terrorists want to live in the eighth century, he has a plan to send them there.

In a preview of his prime-time address to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night, Gingrich said that “great societies have the capacity to destroy evil people if they have the courage to destroy evil people.” He delivered the remarks aboard the Goodtime III, Cleveland’s largest excursion ship.

Gingrich said that he “would put assets overhead” to ensure that all modern technology in “any area geographically occupied by ISIS” is targeted by airstrikes.

“I would say that the minute you turn on a car—we’re killing you,” Gingrich said. “The minute you have an electric generator—we’re killing you.”

“You’re going to have no electricity so you can’t be on the internet and you’re going to have no cars,” Gingrich said. “By the time we’re done eliminating your vehicles and by the time we’re done eliminating your electricity, if the neighboring folks want to come in and mop you up, that’s fine with us.” (Read more from “Newt Gingrich Has a Strategy to Destroy ISIS” HERE)

Gingrich Indicts Obama for ‘8 Years of Failure’ in the Fight Against Terrorism

As unrest in Turkey — which President Barack Obama has embraced as a staunch ally — has forced America to suspend all air attacks against ISIS, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich pounded home the fact that the Obama administration has continually failed to execute a Middle East policy that achieves peace and stops terrorism.

Gingrich and Obama have been locked in a war of words ever since Thursday night, when Gingrich said America needed a way to weed out Muslims loyal to the United States from those who are not. He said the United States might need to “test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported.”

“The very suggestion is repugnant and an affront to everything we stand for as Americans,” Obama said of such a proposal Friday.

Gingrich then fired back on Twitter.

Gingrich’s comments about Obama’s lack of leadership in the fight against terrorism came as Friday’s coup attempt in Turkey left that American ally shaken, causing Turkey to suspend all U.S. flights against ISIS that would have been launched from the country’s Incirlik air base. The use of Turkey-based air power has been the centerpiece of the Obama administration’s efforts to fight ISIS in Syria.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly put his finger on the problems of the region by indicting Obama for leaning on allies who never quite come up to expectations instead of getting the job done with the U.S. taking charge.

“The Middle East is absolute chaos, anything could happen, and we’re in a war against radical Islam — and this kind of stuff just makes it more difficult to fight that war,” adding that the unrest in Turkey is “what happens when the United States steps back and tries to become one nation of many, and doesn’t lead.” (For more from the author of “Gingrich Indicts Obama for ‘8 Years of Failure’ in the Fight Against Terrorism” please click HERE)

Newt Gingrich Makes Unusual Pitch for Spot on Ticket With Trump

There has been a lot of speculation as to whom presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will pick as his running mate. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has been the most widely talked about candidate, with many reports Thursday that he indeed is Trump’s choice, over former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Gingrich posted a video to Facebook on Thursday in which he discussed his strengths and seemed to subtly play down Pence’s.

“I think my appeal is probably more national. I have some appeal in virtually every state,” he said. “I think Mike Pence would have a huge Midwest appeal. So, if you’re trying to compete for western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, there’s a certain value to an Indiana candidate, I think.”

Gingrich has reported that the Trump campaign has vetted him thoroughly, detailing an exhaustive process. The former House speaker referred to the other potential running mates as “pirates,” and credited himself as a more stable alternative.

Both Gingrich and Pence have the ability to unite the Republicans, especially conservatives, who are still somewhat iffy about Trump, but Gingrich sees it as a decision that ultimately must be framed through the real estate mogul’s point of view.

“Whether I could do that better or Mike Pence could do that better, that’s something Trump has to personally sort through as he sees it from his perspective,” Gingrich said.

During the video, one person asked the former speaker what he thought Trump’s most impressive characteristic was.

“I think he has courage,” Gingrich replied. (For more from the author of “Newt Gingrich Makes Unusual Pitch for Spot on Ticket With Trump” please click HERE)

Newt Gingrich Makes Announcement That Many Have Been Awaiting

After months of speculation, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has just confirmed he is being vetted to be Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s vice president.

The news may be a welcome sign for many who respect the conservative icon and see Trump as needing a Washington veteran to help navigate through the world of politics.

Gingrich, who is best known for writing the “Contract with America,” a conservative congressional agenda put forward in 1994, confirmed the reports while a guest on The Sean Hannity Show. According to Hannity, Trump and Gingrich will be hitting the campaign trail in the next few days.

Hannity led with a brief discussion of a Drudge Report poll indicating the American people most wanted Gingrich to be selected as the vice president.

“Do you know if there’s any vetting going on?” Hannity asked. Gingrich responded, “Well, I certainly hope so!” which drew laughs from the talk show host.

Hannity then directed a more pointed question at the former House speaker: “Are you being vetted?”

“I think they’ve been very clear all along that I’m one of the four or five people that they’re vetting,” Gingrich said.

Hannity pressed Gingrich to reveal when Trump will announce his running mate.

“When do you think that decision will be made?” he asked. “Will it be made at the convention? Will he hold the suspense?”

Gingrich indicated he was speculating when he said, “First of all I have no idea. … My guess is that they’ll do it either Thursday or Friday [before the GOP convention] so that it dominates the weekend news going into the convention.” (For more from the author of “Newt Gingrich Makes Announcement That Many Have Been Awaiting” please click HERE)

Report Reveals the Truth About Newt Gingrich’s 2012 Presidential Campaign

Running a presidential campaign is costly, with many campaigns operating in the red.

According to a Bloomberg report, the campaign with the largest outstanding debt belongs to Newt Gingrich, owing $4.6 million for his 2012 presidential campaign.

A Huffington Post article from July 2015 reported the campaign was indebted to several businesses, the largest portion of the debt, 1.8 million, owed to Moby Dick Airways for chartered jet service.

Campaign field and political operator Bo Harmon revealed he is still owed $25,000 for his work organizing volunteers, as well as canvassing neighborhoods and making phone calls. Harmon said he called for 2 years following the campaign’s end attempting to collect the amount he was owed, but never received a response.

“Especially with someone like Newt, you hope they conduct themselves in a different way than that. So it’s very disappointing,” Harmon said. “He’s not the first politician to disappoint his supporters, and he won’t be the last.”

A deadline for Gingrich’s debt settlement plan, originally set for May 23, has been moved to August 1.

Gingrich is not the only one to owe for campaign expenses. President Obama’s campaign still owes $2.4 million for his 2012 campaign, while Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson owes $1.4 million for his 2012 bid for the White House. Others like Reverend Al Sharpton and former Senator John Edwards are still in campaign debt.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Gingrich confirmed he would consider joining the Donald Trump presidential ticket. “I endorse Donald Trump. I’m going to work very hard for the nominee,” he said.

When asked if Gingrich was on the short list of possible running mates, presumptive Republican nominee Trump said, “Absolutely. I’ll say yes, because he’s been such a supporter. I mean, anybody that supports me is on the shortlist as far as I’m concerned.” (For more from the author of “Report Reveals the Truth About Newt Gingrich’s 2012 Presidential Campaign” please click HERE)

Gingrich Dismantles Robert Reich’s Rant on Income Inequality: ‘This is Baloney’ (+video)

Newt Gingrich7232Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich heatedly disputed Robert Reich’s contention that the “War on Poverty’s” initial success was spoiled by decades of Republican “intransigence,” telling the former labor secretary his argument was “baloney.”

Gingrich and Reich appeared on ABC News’ “This Week” to discuss TIME magazine’s choice of Pope Francis as Person of the Year. Reich, a well-known proponent of wide-scale income redistribution, changed the topic to inequality in the United States today. ABC News host Jonathann Karl asked Gingrinch whether the Republican Party should be worried about poverty in America.

“Absolutely,” he responded. “How can you justify the level of wealth in those big towers in New York City and the level of poverty in those alleys? And without talking about government, surely a society that cared, that believed every person was endowed by their Creator with the right to pursue happiness, would come up with a better solution than 22,000 children that are homeless.

“I think that the Republican Party has an obligation to rethink some of its indifference to the very poor,” he continued, “and I think the Democrats have an obligation to ask themselves after 50 years of the ‘War on Poverty,’ isn’t it clear that government isn’t a very good –”

Gingrich: ‘Even More Power and More Control’ for Obama (+video)

Photo Credit: AP/J. Scott ApplewhiteBecause the Senate wasn’t functioning the way President Obama thinks it should, he supported Democrats Thursday as they overturned 200 years of Senate tradition by essentially doing away with the filibuster.

Democrats invoked the so-called “nuclear option,” allowing presidential nominees be confirmed with 51 votes, instead of 60.

“[T]his was one more step to give President Obama even more power and even more control,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday on CNN’s “Crossfire.”

The Senate changed its longstanding filibuster rules only for presidential nominees, not for legislation — but Gringrich said that will probably change, too.

“And I think what struck me, I think this is a very historic vote. I don’t think this is just a tactic. And if you watch the president’s press conference today, the entire opening of the press conference is a litany of legislative problems. He doesn’t get to the appointments until after he goes through layer after layer of legislative problems, which signals to me he intends to unwind the entire filibuster by the time this is done.”

Gingrich: GOP Must Stop ‘Stumbling Into Next Crisis’

Photo Credit: Gage SkidmoreNewt Gingrich urged House Republicans to stop “stumbl[ing] into the next crisis” and instead seize the policy initiative by seeking “breakout” policies in healthcare, education, and other major policy areas.

Although the 2014 midterm elections already look to be fought over raising the debt ceiling or defunding ObamaCare, the former Speaker said Republicans must look in a different, more future-oriented direction.

“Instead of sitting around, passively waiting to stumble into the next crisis, we ought to be out there looking at new ideas,” Gingrich told The Hill in an interview.

These new ideas, said Gingrich, cover everything from promoting regenerative medicine to the potential benefits of online schooling and self-driving cars.

Gingrich’s new book “Breakout,” published Monday, argues that America is on the cusp of major technology-driven innovations in most major policy areas. But such a “breakout” requires overcoming the political and bureaucratic “prison guards of the past” who benefit from stagnation, Gingrich says.

Newt Gingrich: Sebelius Worse Liar Than Nixon

Photo Credit: Gage SkidmoreNewt Gingrich accused embattled Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Wednesday of being a worse liar than disgraced former President Richard Nixon.

The charge — which the former House Speaker delivered in a biting tweet — came Wednesday morning as Sebelius delivered testimony on the disastrous rollout of the new Obamacare health insurance website before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

“Sebelius dishonesty in testimony this morning exceeds anything president Nixon was accused of. The Obama team can’t tell truth and survive,” Gingrich tweeted.

Sebelius’ testimony was her first appearance before Congress since the Oct. 1 debut of Healthcare.gov, the federal website that was set up to enable Americans to buy insurance.

Newt Gingrich: Obama Deserves Credit

By Donovan Slack. Newt Gingrich, the former speaker who famously wanted to create a moon colony, is now backing President Obama’s plan to spend $100 million mapping the human brain.

“President Obama is taking a very important step toward the most dramatic breakthroughs in human health. Brain research is vital for Autism, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, traumatic brain injury, mental health, and a host of other concerns,” Gingrich said in a statement. Obama proposes $100M for brain mapping project

By Associated Press. President Barack Obama on Tuesday asked Congress to spend $100 million next year on a new project to map the human brain in hopes of eventually finding cures for disorders like Alzheimer’s, epilepsy and traumatic injuries.

Obama said the so-called BRAIN Initiative could create jobs and eventually lead to answers to ailments including Parkinson’s and autism and help reverse the effect of a stroke. The president told scientists gathered in the White House’s East Room that the research has the potential to improve the lives of billions of people worldwide.

“As humans we can identify galaxies light-years away,” Obama said. “We can study particles smaller than an atom, but we still haven’t unlocked the mystery of the three pounds of matter that sits between our ears.”
