President Trump Nominated for 2021 Nobel Peace Prize

President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for helping to broker peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates – and immediately went on a Twitter spree of self-congratulation Wednesday.

He was nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, an ultra-conservative member of the Norwegian Parliament, who praised Trump for brokering a deal in which the UAE and Israel agreed to establish diplomatic ties and trade links and allow free travel between their countries for the first time.

Tybring-Gjedde is an immigration skeptic who previously nominated Trump in 2018 for his meeting with Kim Jong-Un in Singapore. Trump lost and the prize went to Nadia Murad, a Yazidi who survive ISIS in Iraq and now campaigns against sexual violence in war.

Insisting he is not a Trump supporter, he said: ‘For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,’ Tybring-Gjedde said to Fox News.

‘The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing.’ (Read more from “President Trump Nominated for 2021 Nobel Peace Prize” HERE)

Yet Another Leftist Receives a Nobel Prize, This Time Greta Thunberg

Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg has been nominated for the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize by two Swedish lawmakers, a report said on Monday.

Jens Holm and Hakan Svenneling, members of Sweden’s Left Party, said the 17-year-old Thunberg “has worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis.”

Her work toward “reducing our emissions and complying with the Paris Agreement is therefore also an act of making peace,” they said.

The Paris accord, from which President Trump withdrew the US in June 2017, seeks to combat the rise in global temperatures by reducing emissions. . .

Thunberg, who was named Time magazine’s 2019 “Person of the Year,” was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize last year by three members of Norway’s parliament. (Read more from “Yet Another Leftist Receives a Nobel Prize, This Time Greta Thunberg” HERE)

Serial Rapist Connected With Nobel Peace Prize Convicted, Causes Unprecedented Delay in Award

By East Lothian Courier. The man at the centre of a sex abuse and financial crimes scandal in Sweden that is tarnishing the academy that awards the Nobel Prize in Literature has been convicted of rape and sentenced to two years in prison.

Jean-Claude Arnault, 72, a major cultural figure in Sweden, had faced two counts of rape for the same woman in 2011.

He was found guilty of one rape but was acquitted of the other because the victim said she was asleep at the time and judges said her account was not reliable. (Read more from “Serial Rapist Connected With Nobel Peace Prize Convicted, Causes Unprecedented Delay in Award” HERE)

Arnault, the Frenchman at the center of the Nobel Prize scandal, had long history of alleged sexual assaults

By DW. In November 2017, Arnault was accused of assaulting at least 18 women, including a claim backed by three witnesses that he groped Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria at an Academy event in 2006. He was charged with two counts of rape, after several charges had to be dropped due to insufficient evidence or the statute of limitations having lapsed. . .

There are also suspicions that Arnault has leaked the winner of the [Nobel] Literature Prize to the media several times.

As a result, the Academy announced that it will not hand out its literature award until 2019, saying that it needs to regain public trust in its processes. This is the first time the prize has been canceled in six decades. Previously, the Academy has declined to award a writer in times of conflict or when they believed none of the nominees were worthy. Judge Gudrun Antemar said: “The court’s conclusion is that the evidence is enough to find the defendant guilty of one of the events.”

She added the evidence “has mainly consisted of statements made during the trial by the injured party and several witnesses”.

Trump Gets Massive Nobel Prize News

By Conservative Tribune. . .As amazing news from the Korean peninsula continues to break, it looks increasingly possible that the decades-long hostilities between North and South Korea may finally be resolved in a peaceful manner … and Donald Trump played a major role in the process . . .

“We, the undersigned members of the United States Congress, respectfully nominate President Donald J. Trump to receive the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his work to end the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean Peninsula, and bring peace to the region,” states a letter signed by 18 lawmakers.

“Since taking office, President Trump has worked tirelessly to apply maximum pressure on North Korea to end its illicit weapons program and bring peace to the region,” the official nomination letter continues.

“His Administration successfully united the international community, including China, to impose one of the most successful international sanctions regimes in history.”

Almost nobody predicted that talks in Korea would move as fast as they did, and events have moved so quickly that there is still some doubt about whether or not North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is actually serious about keeping his word. (Read more from “Trump Gets Massive Nobel Prize News” HERE)

House Republicans Nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

By The Guardian. Eighteen House Republicans have nominated Donald Trump for the 2019 Nobel peace prize.

In a letter spearheaded by the Indiana Republican Luke Messer and sent to the Norwegian Nobel committee, the lawmakers claim that Trump should “receive the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his work to end the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean peninsula and bring peace to the region”.

The rules for a Nobel prize nomination are relatively loose. Nominations can only be made by people who belong to a handful of categories, including members of a national legislation body, university professors and former winners of the prize – but there are no other restrictions. In 2018, there were 330 nominees to win the award, which will be announced in December. The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons was the 2017 winner.

The Nobel committee operates under aegis of the government of Norway, but a 2009 justice department memo says the prize and accompanying $1.4m award does not qualify as a “emolument” from a foreign power, as the committee is independent from the government. Trump has previously faced criticism over foreign government spending at his hotels, which scholars have argued is an emolument. The Trump Organization has said that it has given all profits from foreign governments to the US treasury. (Read more from “House Republicans Nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize” HERE)
