Gallup: Americans Who Think We’ll Be Worse Off in 4 Yrs Doubled in 4 Yrs

photo credit: donkeyhotey(CNSNews) – The percentage of Americans who think America will be worse off in four years has more than doubled in the four years since Barack Obama was first inaugurated as president, according to the Gallup poll.

In a survey conducted Jan. 9-11, 2009–concluding just nine days before Barack Obama’s first inauguration as president–Gallup asked American adults: “Do you think the country will be better off or worse off four years from now?”

At that time, 72 percent said the country would be better off, 20 percent said it would be worse off, 4 percent said it would be the same, and 4 percent said they had no opinion.

This time, only 54 percent said they believed the country would be better off in four years, while 41 percent said they believed it would be worse off, 3 percent said it would be the same, and 2 percent said they had no opinion.

Fox News’ ‘Hannity’ to Air One-Hour ‘District of Corruption’ Special on Thanksgiving

Fox News’ “Hannity” on Thursday at 9 p.m. eastern will air a one-hour special about the “District of Corruption” movie and the permanent political class and crony capitalism on both sides of the aisle the film exposes and indicts.

The film, “District of Corruption,” directed by Stephen K. Bannon and produced by Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton and Victory Film Group, traces the roots of the modern disenchantment with the political system back to the Clinton administration, which shamelessly commercialized government. This continued under George W. Bush’s administration. And the Obama administration has put crony capitalism on steroids.

The Thanksgiving evening special on “Hannity” will have panelists discussing some of the Obama administration’s biggest scandals, such as Fast and Furious, green boondoggles like Solyndra, the politicization of the Department of Justice not limited to voter intimidation cases, and bailouts to Wall Street cronies.

Mark Levin: Tea Party Only Thing That Stands ‘Between Liberty And Tyranny’

Conservative scholar, talk radio host, and former Reagan administration official Mark Levin said conservatives need to first overthrow the Republican establishment to more successfully take on President Barack Obama and the institutional left.

“We cannot get through Obama and the left until we get through the Republican Establishment,” Levin said, railing against establishment consultants who attack the base and politicians who know nothing of “Burkean reform” because they have spent their whole careers “clawing their way to the top.”

In a talk at the Heritage Foundation on Wednesday with his mentor, former Reagan Attorney General Ed Meese, for whom Levin served as Chief of Staff, Levin said the Republican Party is, “devouring the conservative movement,” and the old bulls need to step aside in favor of a new generation of conservatives who are fluent in conservatism.

“It’s time for the old bulls to get out of the way and for the fresh faces who believe in conservatism and liberty and originalist principles to step up,” Levin said, criticizing those like House Speaker John Boehner for “yielding territory” to the left in negotiations.

Levin said the Tea Party consists of constitutionalists, libertarians, Evangelicals, and those who are against the rigged establishment, beltway culture that for too long has not embraced conservatism and, as a consequence, lost national elections (George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, Mitt Romney).

“The Tea Party is the only thing that stands between liberty and tyranny,” Levin said. “We have to defeat the Republican establishment mush in Washington, D.C.”

Food Stamp President? You Betcha!

photo credit: usdagovIf all 47 million food stamp recipients voted for President Obama, it would account for 75.4 percent of Obama’s 62.3 million votes.

Harry Hopkins, FDR’s close adviser who ran the non-defunct Works Progress Administration (WPA), once described Roosevelt’s strategy as “tax & tax, spend & spend, elect & elect.” He believed that if Roosevelt put everyone on the federal payroll, either through aid or federal jobs, that Roosevelt would never lose. FDR won four presidential elections in a row before his death removed him from office. Did Obama use his idol’s model to win this election?

Food stamps rolls have grown by nearly 50 percent-by more than 15 million recipients-under the Obama administration. During that same time, the unemployment rate has stayed the same. Either those outside of the workforce have been decimated by the Obama economy or this administration is making a conscious effort to get more Americans reliant on government. Or both.

Welfare programs now cost taxpayers a record-high $750 billion. While government “charity” has grown, so has poverty-and so has the Democrats’ poll numbers.

The candidates and their PACs spent $6 billion for the election. Should we add the $750 billion in federal welfare to Democratic campaign spending total?

Revelation: Obama Reportedly Signed Secret Cyber Directive in October

photo credit: loop_ohThe military now has more room to aggressively maneuver in cyberspace, thanks to a secret directive signed by President Barack Obama in October.

The Washington Post recently revealed that Obama signed the directive — called Presidential Directive 20 — to give “a broad and strict set of standards to guide the operations of federal agencies in confronting threats in cyberspace[.]”

The directive states that, before turning to military cyber units, the government will first turn to law enforcement or “traditional network defense techniques before asking military cyberwarfare units for help or pursuing other alternatives,” senior government officials who saw the classified document told the Washington Post.

“For the first time, the directive explicitly makes a distinction between network defense and cyber operations to guide officials charged with making often rapid decisions when confronted with threats,” reported The Washington Post Wednesday.

Network defense refers to protective measures taken within an organization’s network, while cyber operations consist of activities outside of that space.

Obama ‘Grand Bargain’ More Gimmick Than Grand

photo credit: donkeyhoteyThe wide gap between GOP lawmakers and President Obama over what constitutes serious deficit reduction may be too much to overcome in time to avert the year-end fiscal cliff.

Republicans now say they’re willing to yield ground on taxes — though not on tax rates — to reach a grand deficit-cutting bargain, but Obama has a different idea about what qualifies as “grand.”

The deal laid out by the White House leading up to and since Obama’s re-election has involved about $4 trillion in claimed deficit cuts over 10 years.

Yet Republicans have kicked the tires before — the deal has been on the table since September 2011 — and come away finding it’s smaller and far more tilted toward tax hikes than advertised.

The reality is that Obama’s new spending program cut proposals appear relatively modest: less than $600 billion over 10 years.

Murkowski Named One of Most Likely GOP Senators to Vote With Democrats in 2013

Senate Democrats will enter the new year with an expanded majority of 55-45, having gained two seats in the election. They may be emboldened, but Republicans will retain the ability to slow down or halt their agenda with the use of the filibuster, which requires 41 senators.

If Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell continues to wield the filibuster as routinely as he did in President Obama’s first term, Majority Leader Harry Reid will need to pick off at least five Republican senators to advance initiatives.

Here are his five most likely targets…

Lisa Murkowski

The Alaska Republican has been less loyal to party’s leaders since she lost her GOP primary race in 2010 but won re-election as a write-in candidate.

Murkowski later broke with the GOP on a series of defining votes, such as the DREAM Act, repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell” and the Paul Ryan budget. This year, she spoke out on her party’s need to stop alienating women voters and made a public showing of support for Democrats against House and Senate Republican leaders on the Violence Against Women Act.

Obama Has Firm Belief in Man-Caused Global Warming, Says ‘We’ve Got Obligation’ to Act

President Barack Obama held his first postelection press conference today, Nov. 14, 2012, in the East room at the White House. The president took eight questions from the White House press corps; one of those questions was on the subject of Global Climate Change, and the President’s plan to “tackle the issue of climate change”.

Mark Landler, part of the White House press corps and a journalist for the New York Times, asked the President the following question on Global Climate Change.

“Mr. President. In his endorsement of you a few weeks ago, Mayor Bloomberg said he was motivated by the belief that you would do more to confront the threat of climate change than your opponent. Tomorrow you’re going up to New York City, where you’re going to, I assume, see people who are still suffering the effects of Hurricane Sandy, which many people say is further evidence of how a warming globe is changing our weather. What specifically do you plan to do in a second term to tackle the issue of climate change? And do you think the political will exists in Washington to pass legislation that could include some kind of a tax on carbon?”

The president did not shy away from the question, saying, “I am a firm believer that climate change is real, that it is impacted by human behavior and carbon emissions.”

“You know, as you know, Mark, we can’t attribute any particular weather event to climate change. What we do know is the temperature around the globe is increasing faster than was predicted even 10 years ago. We do know that the Arctic ice cap is melting faster than was predicted even five years ago. We do know that there have been extraordinarily — there have been an extraordinarily large number of severe weather events here in North America, but also around the globe. And I am a firm believer that climate change is real, that it is impacted by human behavior and carbon emissions. And as a consequence, I think we’ve got an obligation to future generations to do something about it.”

White House Petition Frenzy: New Petition to Strip Citizenship of Secession Signers Gains Steam (+video)

On President Barack Hussein Obama’s WhiteHouse.gov petition website, a new petition has been posted that seeks to strip the citizenship of all citizens who have signed secession petitions. Created on November 12, the petition now has 7,917 signatures.

To meet the White House’s 25,000 signature threshold for consideration, the petition requires – at the time of this posting, an additional 17,083 by December 12, 2012. At the current rate of over 4,000 signatures per day, it seems pretty apparent that this petition will reach its signature goal.

The creator of this most recent petition is “Douglas H.” from Escondido, California.

This new petition – as well as the secession petitions that have been filed since last week’s election – stand little chance of going anywhere despite the Obama administration’s attempt to create false expectations by citing to successful petitions relating to the women’s right to vote, slavery, and civil rights under the link, “History of Petitions.” The White House conveniently leaves out that such “petitions” required constitutional amendments and/or congressional action as well.

Other disappointing features of the WhiteHouse.gov petition site include the “We the People” wording on the headers of each page as well as the shaded “TAX CUTS” phrase immediately above “We the People.” The Obama administration likely got some real humor out of the inclusion of both phrases, given its antipathy to both Tea Party “We the People” ideals as well as tax cuts.

Here’s what the White House itself says about its petition process:

Huckabee Says There’s ‘Absolute Certainty’ of a White House Cover-up on Benghazi

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee tells Newsmax it’s an “absolute certainty” there has been a cover-up involving the Benghazi terrorist attack and the White House “flat-out lied” to the American people about it.

He also maintains that Mitt Romney and the Republicans lost the election not because their message was wrong but because the Obama “machinery” was “staggeringly good.”

And Huckabee, who sought the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, says he won’t rule out another White House run in 2016.

CIA Director David Petraeus resigned his post after acknowledging an extramarital affair, and Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee want to know why, after the FBI had been investigating this for months, they hadn’t been notified earlier.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV, Huckabee was asked if details of his affair were covered up by the White House to help Obama win re-election. Read more from this story HERE.

[Editor’s Note: Curiously, after posting the video of the Huckabee interview where the Governor makes the “absolute certainty” comment, Newsmax pulled it down. We have contacted Newsmax for an explanation but have not received a response back at the time of this posting].
