U.S. Strikes Iran-Linked Sites in Retaliation for Attacks on U.S. Troops

The U.S. military launched airstrikes early Friday on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Pentagon said, in retaliation for a slew of drone and missile attacks against U.S. bases and personnel in the region that began early last week.

The U.S. strikes reflect the Biden administration’s determination to maintain a delicate balance. The U.S. wants to hit Iranian-backed groups suspected of targeting the U.S. as strongly as possible to deter future aggression, possibly fueled by Israel’s war against Hamas, while also working to avoid inflaming the region and provoking a wider conflict. . .

According to the Pentagon, there have been at least 12 attacks on U.S. bases and personnel in Iraq and four in Syria since Oct. 17. Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said 21 U.S. personnel were injured in two of those assaults that used drones to target al-Asad Airbase in Iraq and al-Tanf Garrison in Syria. Pentagon Sends Largest Aircraft Carrier to the Middle East, Says Military Aid Will Soon Reach Israel

The Pentagon will send aircraft and its largest aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean in a show of force to support Israel in its war against Hamas terrorists, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in a statement Sunday.

The Pentagon will begin transferring an unspecified amount of security assistance to Israel, including ammunition, Sunday that is expected to reach the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in “the coming days,” Austin said in the statement. Meanwhile, Austin, at the direction of President Joe Biden, has ordered the U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford along with its strike group to the Eastern Mediterranean and moved to enhance fighter aircraft squadrons in the region.

“We have also taken steps to augment U.S. Air Force F-35, F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the region,” Austin said. “The U.S. maintains ready forces globally to further reinforce this deterrence posture if required,” Austin said.

The Ford is the U.S. Navy’s newest and greatest aircraft carrier and was already deployed to the Mediterranean when Israel’s parliament formally approved a war declaration on Hamas attackers Sunday morning. Israel has not gone to war since 1973.

Movement of U.S. forces nearer to Israel will “strengthen Department of Defense posture in the region to bolster regional deterrence efforts,” Austin said. The decision came after detailed discussions with the president. (Read more from “Pentagon Sends Largest Aircraft Carrier to the Middle East, Says Military Aid Will Soon Reach Israel” HERE)

Report: Leaked Veterans Affairs Training Video Promotes Abortion, Says Pregnancy Not Exclusive to Women (VIDEO)

A training video allegedly leaked from the Department of Veterans Affairs promotes abortion and even suggests that men can become pregnant, Fox News reported Wednesday.

The “Reproductive Health Training” video from April 2023 tells staffers how to talk to veterans who are considering aborting their babies.

“Before discussing counseling procedures, the video began with a ‘note’ on language that clarified, ‘Not all people who seek abortions identify as women.’ Another note read, ‘Person who is pregnant’ is inclusive and preferred to ‘pregnant woman,’” according to the report.

Another slide tells staffers to use certain language about abortion, like “embryo or fetus” instead of “baby or unborn child,” “veteran or person” instead of “mother,” and “embryonic or fetal cardiac activity” instead of “fetal heartbeat.”

Pentagon Extends Hundreds of Troops’ Stay on Mexico Border

The Pentagon has extended the deployment of 400 troops to the United States’s southern border with Mexico through the end of September, the Department of Defense confirmed Friday.

The extension comes after the Pentagon assigned 1,500 troops to the southern border in May for 90 days. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin pulled 1,100 troops away from the border in August, but he extended the deployment for the remaining 400.

“On August 24, 2023, the Secretary of Defense approved an extension of up to 400 personnel providing support to Customs and Border Protection on the Southwest border through September 30, 2023,” Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Devin Robinson told NBC News.

It was the second extension for the 400 troops. The original deployment was ahead of an expected surge in migration in Texas and Arizona at the end of Title 42. However, the surge in border crossings never occurred and numbers in fact dwindled to 3,000 per day, instead of 10,000, before the expiration. It has since increased to 5,000 crossings a day, according to Customs and Border Protection. (Read more from “Pentagon Extends Hundreds of Troops’ Stay on Mexico Border” HERE)

Pentagon Shuts Down Theory About Plane Crash That ‘Likely’ Killed Putin Foe Prigozhin

U.S. officials said they believe Wagner mercenary group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was likely killed in a plane crash Wednesday, as theories continue to swirl that the Russian government was involved in his death.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said the U.S. would not comment on whether Prigozhin’s death was part of a deliberate assassination.

“First of all, our initial assessment is that it’s likely Prigozhin was killed,” he said. “We don’t have any information to indicate, right now, the press reporting, stating that there was some type of surface-to-air missile that took down the plane. But, we assess that information to be inaccurate.”

Prigozhin was killed Wednesday in a plane crash that left 10 people dead outside of Moscow, state media reported. The business jet was traveling from the Russian capital to St. Petersburg when it went down in the Tver region, according to the TASS news agency. GOP Senator’s Hold on Pentagon Nominees Is Keeping Out Left-Wing ‘Diversity’ Advocates

A number of the Pentagon’s military nominees currently blocked by Republican Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville are full-throated advocates for “diversity” initiatives and other parts of the Biden administration’s agenda to reform the military, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of reports and Pentagon materials.

Tuberville has successfully stonewalled over 300 military nominations in the Senate since February in protest of the Pentagon’s policy that funds female service members’ out-of-state travel to seek an abortion. Many of these high-level nominees have vocally supported the Biden administration’s left-wing agenda, such as supporting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

For example, Air Force Col. Benjamin R. Jonsson, who was selected for the Brigadier General position in January, wrote an op-ed to “white colonels” in 2020 after the death of George Floyd and called on them to address “racial disparity” within Air Force ranks.

“In a meeting with other white colonels, I drew attention to the reality that racial tension remains an important issue to address,” Jonsson wrote. “As white colonels, you and I are the biggest barriers to change if we do not personally address racial injustice in our Air Force. Defensiveness is a predictable response by white people to any discussion of racial injustice.”

Crazy Pentagon Spokesman Says Military Has Sacred Obligation to Kill Babies

National Security Council coordinator John Kirby wants to remind everyone that the Democratic Party is so thoroughly obsessed with letting people kill their unborn children that Democrats view it as an integral part of defense policy.

On Monday, Kirby defended the Department of Defense policy of paying for travel expenses for military members to end the lives of their unborn children. Kirby called funding abortion trips a “foundational sacred obligation” of the military and said that helping kill unborn children is how the military “takes care” of families. “It’s just the right darn thing to do,” he said.

In his three-minute rant, Kirby also drove home the idea that several female service members and the wives of service members said abortion laws in various states would discourage them or their spouses from continuing to serve in the military. “That means we lose talent, important talent, and we’re an all-volunteer force,” he said.

House Tees up NDAA Fight Over Pentagon’s Woke Policies, Military Abortion, Ukraine Cluster Bombs

The annual Pentagon policy bill is back on track after a House panel advanced a slew of hot-button amendments, signaling that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy struck a deal with hardline conservatives.

The House Rules Committee worked into the wee hours of Thursday morning to hammer out a final round of amendments for the National Defense Authorization Act that sets up a vote on the House floor.

Of the more than 1,200 amendments left to parse through, the House panel advanced 80. In all, 70 are from GOP members, four from Democrats, and the rest are bipartisan.

Most of the 80 amendments were drafted by the House Freedom Caucus, with some threatening to divide the Republican conference and guaranteeing a showdown with the Democrat-run Senate.

The amendments include ending the Pentagon’s policy of paying transportation for service members to get out-of-state abortions, halting defense money going toward transgender-related medical services, and gutting equity, diversion and inclusivity training in the military. ‘I Hire for Diversity’: Pentagon Nominees Blocked by GOP Senator Are Pushing Left-Wing Initiatives to Reshape Military

Several of the military officers whose promotions are held up due to a senator’s fight with the Pentagon have supported left-wing cultural stances and diversity initiatives, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of social media posts, Pentagon materials and public footage.

Republican Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville has single-handedly blocked numerous officers’ confirmations in protest of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s directive that the military fund out-of-state travel for female troops seeking abortions, initiating a game of chicken between Tuberville and the Pentagon that shows no sign of stopping. Yet several of the candidates in line for promotion have a history of making political statements and backed or spearheaded internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives related to race and sexuality, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of publicly available information.

“Comments by even a handful of the Biden Pentagon’s general officer nominees are instructive as to defense policy, as opposed to mere talking points,” William Thibeau, director of the American Military Project at the Center for the American Way of Life, explained to the DCNF.

“You win on what you focus on. In other words, what the commander talks about typically becomes the focus for the unit writ large,” he said.

For example, Tuberville’s hold applies to Air Force Gen. Charles. Q. Brown, who was recently nominated to replace Gen. Mark Milley as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, according to NBC News. Brown gained notoriety when he made a rare public statement on race in the midst of nationwide rioting and protests following George Floyd’s murder in 2020. Pentagon Attacks Sen. Tuberville, Suggests Murdering Soldiers’ Babies Is Critical to National Security

The Pentagon on Tuesday slammed Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) for setting a “dangerous precedent” by holding up more than 200 general and flag officer nominations over the Defense Department’s new abortion policy.

“Without these leaders in place, these holes severely limit the department’s ability to ensure the right person is in place at the right time, and to ensure a strategic readiness and operational success,” said Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh at a Tuesday briefing.

Singh said the holdup was placing Washington’s ability to counter Russia and China at risk.

“These holds set a dangerous precedent and puts our military readiness at risk at a time when our military is expected to defend the nation and meet the acute threat of Russia and address the pacing challenge of the PRC,” she continued, referring to the People’s Republic of China.

Tuberville has been blocking the nominees from confirmation in the Senate since March over the Pentagon’s policy, which provides paid time off and reimburses travel costs for servicemembers who travel for an abortion.
