Federal Appeals Court Forces State to Fund Planned Parenthood

. . .On Wednesday, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a previous ruling blocking that law, mandating that Ohio taxpayers fund abortions . . .

U.S. Circuit Judge Helene White said the two Planned Parenthood affiliates had a right to taxpayer dollars because abortion was a “protected activity” outside of the government-funded programs . . .

Reuters reports that “White said the law had violated Planned Parenthood’s due process rights by requiring a health care provider surrender its right to provide legal abortions as a condition of participating in programs that have nothing to do with abortion.” More of the ruling written by White below:

The issue in the instant challenge is … whether Ohio may require a provider to surrender the right to provide safe and lawful abortions on its own “time and dime” as a condition of participating in government programs that have nothing to do with abortion.

Thus, as a condition of retaining access to abortion free of undue governmental interference, Ohio women must forego the extensive and subsidized access to health services under federal programs that they previously enjoyed. Although Ohio women do not have a right to the programs, they do have a right not to have their access to important health services curtailed because their major abortion providers opted to protect women’s abortion rights rather than yield to unconstitutional conditions.

Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards Attacks Ivanka Trump for Refusal to Support Planned Parenthood

By The Daily Wire. . .Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, interviewed by associate editor Stephanie Eckardt of W magazine, stated regarding Ivanka Trump’s refusal to support Planned Parenthood, “For God’s sake, you can’t be trading away women’s rights.” . . .

You heard that right: for God’s, according to the leader of the leading organization for murdering the innocents God creates before they can draw their first breath.

That revelation came on Monday as W magazine published a piece on the “problem of Ivanka Trump.” Richards was speaking about an off-the-record meeting with Ivanka first mentioned in her new memoir, Make Trouble. Richards stated in the book that at the meeting, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were “bartering” and “almost” bribing her to eliminate Planned Parenthood’s abortion “services.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards Attacks Ivanka Trump for Refusal to Support Planned Parenthood” HERE)

Planned Parenthood Prez Leaks ‘Off-The-Record’ Abortion Meet With Ivanka

By Newsbusters. . .On Tuesday, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards’ new memoir, Make Trouble, became available to the public. The book comes a month before Richards plans to step down from her position at Planned Parenthood after 12 years. Towards the end of her new work, Richards detailed an “off-the-record” meeting with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner which left her feeling like they were “bribing” and “bartering” with her on abortion.

Following President Donald Trump’s transition into office, a “friendly acquaintance in the fashion industry” put Richards in touch with daughter Ivanka.

Even though Richards wasn’t “feeling optimistic” and doubted having an “honest, off-the-record conversation with anyone in the administration,” she decided to go through with it in February 2017. (Speaking of “off-the-record,” Planned Parenthood appears to have been the first to speak to press about it.)

After she found out Jared Kushner would accompany Ivanka, Richards “begged” her husband, Kirk Adams, to attend as a “witness.” On their way to a Trump golf course in New Jersey, Richards was so “terrified” of running into one of her staffers or supporters that she hid in her car when they stopped at a “nearby Panera” for coffee.

And the conversation Richards had with Jared and Ivanka was anything but secret – in her memoir, at least. (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Prez Leaks ‘Off-The-Record’ Abortion Meet With Ivanka” HERE)

Take Heart! Even Though Planned Parenthood Is Still Funded, Pro-Life Victories Are Everywhere Else

. . .In 2017, 19 states adopted 63 restrictions on abortion—the highest number of restrictions, according to the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood’s research arm, since 2013.

And that might be just the beginning. As The Hill noted, “that trend could continue in 2018 — state legislatures have proposed 15 bills that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, and 11 bills that would ban abortions if the sole reason is a genetic anomaly like Down syndrome.” And 2018 has already been a fruitful year for pro-life activists. Consider just a few examples:

On January 17, President Donald Trump spoke to the March for Life, addressing tens of thousands of pro-life activists gathered in Washington, DC. It was the first time a sitting president addressed the March, and was yet another example of Trump’s transformation from an avowedly pro-choice New York businessman to a politician dedicated to his pro-life allies.

Also on January 17, Congress passed the Born-Alive Survivors Act, which would protect babies who were born alive after failed attempts to abort them. The act both prohibited medical practitioners from denying the proper care to these survivors, required abortion workers to immediately bring these children to the hospital for medical attention, and instituted criminal penalties for those who refused to do so.

On January 18, President Donald Trump announced extensive conscience protections for medical professionals who have ethical, moral, or religious objections to performing abortions—a high priority for the pro-life movement in a cultural moment where religious liberties are under attack from every side.

U.S. Taxpayers Give Planned Parenthood Cash to Fund Abortions

American taxpayers gave Planned Parenthood $1.3 billion over a three-year period, enough money for every abortion the company provided, including half-a-billion dollars that went to divisions later referred for investigation of their unborn-baby body-parts trade.

That’s according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office, whose report for 2013-2015 covered federal money going to federally qualified health centers, which provide a variety of health services. The recipients include International Planned Parenthood Federation and Marie Stopes International, which provide abortions around the world, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America, which provide abortions in America.

Federal obligations to the four organizations or groups totaled more than $26 billion during that time. And while the report confirmed that a significant portion of the funds went to the health centers, which act as “part of the nation’s safety net” for uninsured and the underserved, still hundreds of millions of dollars was sent directly to the abortion industry.

The American Center for Law and Justice said the U.S. Government Accountability Office report “confirms Planned Parenthood received enough federal funds to effectively pay for every abortion they performed in the U.S. from 2013–2015, and that millions in federal funds allocated to Planned Parenthood’s international affiliate, International Planned Parenthood Federation, were directly available to fund abortions abroad.” . . .

The ACLJ report said the GAO report “confirms what we have been saying all along: It is time to hold Planned Parenthood and its allies accountable and end their federal funding.” (Read more from “U.S. Taxpayers Give Planned Parenthood Cash to Fund Abortions” HERE)

Here’s How Trump Can Defund Planned Parenthood

Democrats don’t hold a majority in the U.S. Senate, but the GOP doesn’t have a supermajority of 60 votes, which explains why the granting of $500 million in taxpayer money to the abortionists at Planned Parenthood slipped into the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill . . .

FRC explained the massive spending bill includes many things conservatives don’t like because of the Senate rule that requires 60 votes to end debate on such legislation and move to an up-or-down vote.

“The refrains on social media are all the same: Republicans control the Hill and the White House. Why aren’t they defunding Planned Parenthood? By now, the entire country has seen the ghoulish videos; they’ve heard the criminal evidence; they know these centers are destroying an innocent life every 98 seconds. They’re right to be upset,” FRC said. . .

“Or they could tackle the funding for Planned Parenthood in mandatory programs through budget reconciliation, which only requires 51 votes. The Republican majority succeeded in defunding Planned Parenthood on its 2015 health care repeal, but President Obama vetoed it. Last August, they tried again – only to fall short in the Senate,” FRC said. . .

“That’s where HHS comes in. If you want to know how powerful the agency is in directing government funds, think back to Obama. With a simple HHS regulation, he stopped all 50 states from defunding abortion providers under Title X. Fortunately, Congress overturned that rule last year, and more states are moving to cut ties with Richards’s group than ever,” FRC explained. Planned Parenthood: ‘We Need a Disney Princess Who’s Had an Abortion’

By Life Site News. A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Pennsylvania called for a Disney princess who not only supports abortion, but who has had one.

“We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice,” read a tweet from Planned Parenthood Keystone’s official Twitter account, published Tuesday morning. It has since been deleted, but a screenshot of the tweet is preserved below.

The message also calls for a transgendered Disney princess, as well as “union worker” and “undocumented immigrant” princesses.

Planned Parenthood Keystone has not referenced the tweet or its deletion on its Twitter account as of the time of this writing, and neither it nor the national organization replied to the Wrap’s request for comment. Planned Parenthood Called for Disney Princess ‘Who’s Had an Abortion’ in Now-Deleted Tweet

By USA Today. A Planned Parenthood branch in Pennsylvania called for the Walt Disney Co. to create an animated princess “who’s had an abortion” in a since-deleted tweet posted Tuesday.

Planned Parenthood Keystone, a branch of the health service provider based in Trexlertown, Pa., tweeted that, “We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion / We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice / We need a disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant / We need a disney princess who’s actually a union worker / We need a disney princess who’s trans”.

The tweet’s construction riffed on a recently popular Twitter meme that imagines new animated princesses with traits serious and not. The non-profit Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine — which archives snapshots of sites across the web — shows it stored six captures of the tweet on Tuesday. Planned Parenthood’s national office confirmed the tweet and its deletion in an email to USA TODAY.

“Today, we joined an ongoing Twitter conversation about the kinds of princesses people want to see in an attempt to make a point about the importance of telling stories that challenge stigma and championing stories that too often don’t get told,” said Melissa Reed, Planned Parenthood’s president and CEO. “Upon reflection, we decided that the seriousness of the point we were trying to make was not appropriate for the subject matter or context, and we removed the tweet.”

The tweet triggered a slew of feedback online from users replying to a now-vanished post. Some took screenshots of the tweet before its deletion.

Soros and Planned Parenthood-Sponsored ‘March for Our Lives’ Hypocritically Protests Our Only Real Protection Against Violent Crime

Police are on our side, for the most part, and many of them lay their lives on the line nightly to serve and protect fellow Americans and immigrants in neighborhoods that the rest of us avoid. But do they have a legal duty to respond quickly or effectively to our 9-1-1 calls?

No. If police arrive in time to prevent a tragedy, that’s nice, but it’s up to them. They aren’t legally obligated to dispatch, patrol or operate well. It’s been litigated from different angles, and it was eventually settled by the Supreme Court.

In March 1975, two men kicked down a Washington DC single mother’s door and raped her. Two upstairs neighbors heard her screams, called 9-1-1 and were told help was on the way. But it wasn’t.

When they didn’t arrive for 12 minutes, the neighbors called 9-1-1 again and were told again to sit tight, that police were coming. One shouted down to encourage the downstairs mom that police were en route.

This alerted the rapists to the women upstairs. They broke into the upstairs apartment, kidnapped all three women at knife-point, and for the next 14 hours, beat them, raped them, robbed them and forced them to perform sexual acts on one another.

The victims later sued the District of Columbia municipal government, which employs the police. The government fought the women’s lawsuit and did not settle out of court. That city, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in America, argued in court that its police owed no specific duty to the brutalized victims. The courts agreed.

The Supreme Court settled the law on this issue in a 2005 ruling. In that case, police failed to enforce a court order against a Colorado ex-husband who abducted his three daughters, ages 7, 9 and 10. The girls’ mother reported the abduction and violation of the court order, and provided reliable information on their location, but police did not follow up. The ex-husband later shot his three girls dead.

The bereaved mother later sued, based on the court order’s language that “you shall arrest” the violator. When the lawsuit reached its final appeal, the Court held that the fatal inaction was “within a well-established tradition of police discretion” despite “apparently mandatory arrest statutes.” The law of the land, since 2005, is that you have no legal right to police protection.

You do, however, have a legal right to keep and bear arms. The government is Constitutionally prohibited to infringe that right. And so you have a capacity, if you can keep it, to protect yourself, your daughters and your downstairs neighbor from violent criminals.

The 2nd Amendment was under attack Saturday, just across town from where the three women were overwhelmed and dehumanized by knife-wielding criminals in 1975. March for Our Lives organizers claimed that 2 million adolescent supporters participated, including over 800 “sibling events” across the nation. They assure us that their attack on gun rights will continue during the midterm elections this Fall.

If you have trouble remembering which is the March for Life and which is the March for Our Lives, just remember that the March for Life is the annual prolife rally that is largely ignored by the mainstream media, not breathlessly promoted. Or you can remember that the March for Life is a protest against the killing of over 60 million defenseless, unborn American children since the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.

The March for Our Lives, on the other hand, was partially funded by Planned Parenthood, an organization that has committed 8,058,657 abortions, by one count, since 1970.

“Everyone has a right,” Planned Parenthood tweeted Saturday with breathtaking irony, to lead “a life that is healthy and free of violence.” A Planned Parenthood spokesperson boasted to BuzzFeed News that the government-subsidized organization is “teaching and hosting trainings” for young anti-gun activists. They provided the students with “logistics, strategy and planning” assistance. Likewise MoveOn.org, underwitten by billionaire immigrant George Soros.

But the March for Our Lives is also funded by a number of large contributions from Hollywood celebrities, entertainers and corporate donors, including $50,000 from Joshua Kushner, brother of Trump son-in-law Jared. Some of the celebrities attended the anti-gun rally, protected by armed security.

Law enforcement failures are apparently of little interest to the NeverAgain movement. The police officer who stood inert in front of the high school he was assigned to protect, the ignored warnings about the shooter’s intentions, the FBI’s failure to follow up – none of this seems to matter as much as the opportunity to launch impassioned attacks on Republicans and the NRA. Why not?

At what point do we admit that this is not a children’s crusade? Hardened leftist adults, with other fish to fry, have provided its infrastructure, funding and even its goals. The kids have compelling and tragic stories that give them value to people who would have happily crushed their skulls and dismembered them less than two decades ago. But the kids are not in control of this movement.

I’m not a mind-reader. I don’t know how sincere the adolescents are. I’m not sure that I could have resisted, at their age, the seduction of the spotlight, the opportunity to feel like a rock star. It wouldn’t be fair to expect wisdom of them. Not now.

Although a few have surprised us: Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv, for example, considers himself a NeverAgain supporter but seeks a middle ground of hardening targets and improving security without infringing his fellow citizens’ right to keep and bear arms.

“The only way change will be accomplished,” the high school junior said, “is if we stop using inflammatory language, we sit down and have a logical discussion, we don’t call the person the enemy, we don’t shout at them and we don’t boo them. That’s the only way a positive change will be made.”

‘Landmark’ Pro-Life Bill Signed by Governor, Strips Planned Parenthood of Power

Idaho will now require that the facts regarding health complications caused by abortions be shared with the public.

On Thursday, Republican Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter signed into law state House Bill 638, which creates a new reporting system.

As of July 1, abortion providers must report a woman’s age, race, how many children she has, if any of those children have died and how many abortions she has had previously, according to Fox News.

“We believe this is landmark legislation because, in coming years, we will be able to learn how abortion affects women and girls in both the short-term and long-term,” pro-life group Idaho Chooses Life said in statement.

“For the first time we will not be dependent upon Planned Parenthood or the FDA to tell us what they want us to hear.”

“It is rather shocking to realize that, some 45 years into the Roe v. Wade era – virtually everything we think we know about abortion and its impact on women comes from the abortion industry. Not exactly an unbiased source,” the group said after the bill was passed by the state senate.

The state would publish the data annually, but withhold identifying information, The Associated Press reported.

In addition mandating that direct medical complications be reported to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare — including infection, blood clots and hemorrhaging — the state also requires providers to report whether women suffer from depression, anxiety and sleeping disorders.

State Rep. Greg Chaney, a Republican, said the bill was necessary because Idaho had no legislation requiring providers to share this information with the public.

“Idaho currently has no enforceable requirement that complications be reported, and the scant reporting that does occur is from abortion providers only; this is a challenge since many complications are treated by emergency room doctors or primary care doctors–and not the abortion providers,” read a statement on his website.

The bill’s text notes that, “Surgical abortion is an invasive procedure that can cause severe physical and psychological complications for women, both short-term and long-term.”

The legislation said that its purpose was “to promote the health and safety of women by adding to the sum of medical and public health knowledge through the compilation of relevant data on all abortions performed in the state, as well as on all medical complications and maternal deaths resulting from these abortions.”

The impact of the new law, and Otter’s efforts, were summarized by Idaho Chooses Life on its blog.

“It takes a lot of folks to make a victory like this possible. And it takes the Lord’s kindness and blessing, without whom we could do nothing,” the group said.

“There are many reasons to be joyful in thanksgiving over this victory. But here is an important one: The Governor has completed his time in office with a perfect pro-Life record. He has finished the race and will leave behind him a tremendous pro-Life legacy,” the group added.

“We predict his stellar pro-Life record will be his greatest, long-term contribution to the well being of Idaho and its citizens. There is no doubt that Butch Otter has helped save lives that would otherwise have been wasted through abortion – and that number will continue to increase long after he leaves office.” (For more from the author of “‘Landmark’ Pro-Life Bill Signed by Governor, Strips Planned Parenthood of Power” please click HERE)

Cecile Richards: Planned Parenthood Provides Testing ‘at Your Favorite Local Gay Bar’ – This Is Where Our Tax Money Goes?

By CNS News. Americans can get tested by the nation’s largest abortion provider “at your favorite gay bar” – even after midnight on weekends – Planned Parenthood Pres. Cecile Richards said Friday . . .

“You can come to Planned Parenthood to get testing, treatment, and the support you need in the privacy of our health centers. Or even at your favorite local gay bar, where our staff has been known to be doing testing on Saturday night at 1 A.M.”

Taxpayers Still Funding Planned Parenthood

By Free Beacon. American taxpayers will continue to pay Planned Parenthood hundreds of millions of dollars each year despite Republican pledges to defund the nation’s largest abortion organization, sparking criticism from pro-life activists.

Planned Parenthood receives more than $500 million each year from American taxpayers, while performing more than 300,000 abortions. Congressional Republicans pushed legislation steering that money away from the organization in order to fund local female health clinics during the Obama administration—an effort that surged in the wake of revelations about its organ harvesting operations—only to be met with opposition from the Democratic White House. Many Republicans campaigned on the issue in 2016, and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan pledged to defund Planned Parenthood in January 2017, but nothing has come of those promises despite GOP control of the White House and both chambers of Congress.

The $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill was seen as the prime opportunity to strike at Planned Parenthood, which received $543.7 million from taxpayers last year, about 40 percent of its $1.46 billion revenue stream. Republicans, however, did not include the defunding measure in the final bill, as negotiations over a proposed border wall and federal funding for a New York City tunnel took center stage. The negotiations over the massive spending package amounted to a failure, according to pro-life activists.

“It’s hard for the pro-life base to look at a bill like the omnibus that fully funds Planned Parenthood and is chock full of other broken promises and not come away completely disgusted with the Republican Party,” said Terry Schilling, executive director of the American Principles Project. ID Concealed of Doctor Who ‘Bungled’ Late-Term Abortion

A lawsuit against Planned Parenthood alleges the abortion industry giant, which takes hundreds of millions of dollars a year from taxpayers, concealed the identity of an abortionist accused, along with a nurse, of bungling a late-term abortion.

OR Senior Vice President Cheryl Sullenger pointed out that while the lawsuit names Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts Inc. and the nurse practitioner, Rebecca Kreiger, there is no mention of the abortionist.

That’s because Planned Parenthood redacted the abortionist’s name from the medical records of the pregnant woman, Celina Casas.

The complaint states: “On or about March 12, 2015, a doctor, whose name is redacted from the medical records and whose identity is unknown, performed the first step in a two-step abortion at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Worcester by softening the cervix.”

Casas experienced a “bungled late-term abortion” that resulted in her delivering her “presumably dead baby” in her bathroom at home, OR said. (Read more from “ID Concealed of Doctor Who ‘Bungled’ Late-Term Abortion” HERE)
