HHS Says It Has Only Two Pages of Scientific Evidence Backing Its Support for “Gender-Affirming Care”

The Department of Health and Human Services said it has only two pages of literature supporting Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine’s assessment that “gender-affirming care” is “necessary” for transgender youth, prompting allegations that the transgender-identifying Biden administration official has violated the Department’s scientific integrity policies by baselessly claiming it’s settled science.

Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT), a nonprofit watchdog, filed a Freedom of Information Act request for “records of scientific evidence, studies, and/or data to support the Assistant Secretary’s claim that ‘gender-affirming care is medically necessary, safe, and effective for trans and non-binary youth,’” as well as for “records of surveys of medical professionals regarding the value and importance of ‘gender-affirming care’ for minor children.”

In response, HHS produced only a single document—a two-page PDF called “Gender-Affirming Care and Young People.” The document is also on HHS’ website and is not a scientific study, but rather a brochure that declares that “research demonstrates that gender-affirming care improves the mental health and overall well-being of gender-diverse children.”

It supports the statement with a footnote to a single study that showed that transgender-identifying young people were slightly less suicidal when receiving treatment — 51% who were receiving such care were suicidal, slightly lower than the 62% who weren’t receiving hormones but wanted them. The HHS document also states that puberty blockers are reversible and hormone therapy is partially reversible.

Watch: Transgender Rachel Levine Claims Children Face ‘Wrong Puberty’

Some American children are “going through the wrong puberty,” says Rachel Levine, the self-described “transgender” assistant secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services.

“Adolescence is hard and puberty is hard. What if you’re going through the wrong puberty? What if you inside feel that you are female, but now you’re going through a male puberty?” Levine said during a recent appearance in the first installment of the ABC Nightline series, Identity Denied: Trans in America.

Levine, the highest-ranking openly transgender federal official in the United States, made these remarks after being asked to respond to people who say children should wait until they are at least 18 years of age before dabbling in sex-related interventions.

After being told by Nightline co-anchor Juju Chang that the argument is children are “too young to know,” Levine said, “I want to be clear that for prepubertal children, there are no medical procedures done. HHS Produces Pro-Transgender Propaganda Video Featuring Rachel Levine Interviewing a Trans Activist

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has produced a video that features Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, a biological man who identifies as a woman, interviewing self-described singer-songwriter and transgender activist Ryan Cassata.

Proponents of radical leftist gender ideology use the phrase “gender-affirming care” to refer to measures such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender-transition surgeries. Levine claimed that the phrase is “important” but that “opponents have weaponized it.” He suggested that “gender-affirming care is healthcare,” as well as “mental healthcare” and “suicide prevention care.”

Levine said much of the “gender-affirming care” is carried out by “outstanding” children’s hospitals in the U.S.

Cassata claimed that getting “top surgery” was life-saving. “Top surgery” is a euphemism for a mastectomy.

While Cassata claims to have no regrets about the procedure, other people who have pursued gender transition measures have later voiced regrets.

Biden Admin Advocate for Child Sex Changes Kicks off Adolescent Health Month With Resources on ‘Sexual’ Health

Assistant Secretary for Health Admiral Rachel Levine marked the beginning of Adolescent Health Month on Monday with resources on “sexual and reproductive health.”

“It is so important to focus on the strengths and potential of our nation’s young people,” Levine said in a press release. “During this year’s observance of National Adolescent Health Month, we are finding ways to help caring adults provide the environments and supports that young people need to grow in a healthy way and thrive.”

Levine, who identifies as transgender, has come out in support of child sex changes. Levine said transgender-identified youth are supported at the “highest levels” of the administration in November. Levine also discussed the potential revenue source that could be provided by sex changes in unearthed emails reported by the Daily Caller News Foundation in February. Levine has also said that some LGBT-identified youth will have to replace their parents with “one supportive adult.”

Rachel Levine Calls on Doctors to Become ‘Ambassadors’ to Normalize Transgenderism

The Biden Administration’s Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine called on doctors to serve as “ambassadors” in the attempt to normalize transgenderism.

Levine, a man who identifies as a woman, remarked “I encourage all of you to think of yourself as ambassadors to your communities, ambassadors for science,” as well as for “compassion” and for “care.”

“These conversations don’t need to be limited or restricted to a medical setting,” Levine added.

“Offer yourselves as informational resources not just for youth but for school teachers, principals, school boards, professional organizations, recreation centers, county commissioners, and others who would benefit from this information and your perspective,” Levine noted. Trans Biden Official Sought Justification for Performing Kids’ Sex Changes From Children’s Hospital

A top Biden healthcare official sought out justification for performing sex change operations on children during the official’s previous role leading a state health agency, according to newly obtained emails.

Dr. Rachel Levine, currently the assistant secretary for health at President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), asked in a 2017 email exchange if any scientific literature was available to support “bottom” surgeries for minors, according to emails obtained by activist Megan Brock and shared with the Daily Caller. Dr. Nadia Dowshen of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia replied she was “not aware of existing literature.”

“I know that we had discussed at US PATH the possibility of gender confirmation surgery for young people under 18 years of age. This could include top surgery for trans young men and top and bottom surgery for trans young women,” Levine said in an email to Dowshen dated May 4, 2017. “Is there any literature to support this protocol? Please let me know if you have any references.”

Transgender HHS Assistant Secretary Says Doctors Agree on Providing ‘Gender-Affirming’ Care for Minors

United States Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS), Rachel Levine, who is a biological male living as a woman, brushed off critics of new federal guidance promoting “gender-affirming” health care for minors.

The New York Post reported that Levine criticized states like Texas and Florida for pushing guidance against gender-affirming health care for children. Levine said that medical professionals support children obtaining this type of treatment, which includes puberty blockers, hormone therapy treatment, and sex reassignment surgery.

“There is no argument among medical professionals – pediatricians, pediatric endocrinologists, adolescent medicine physicians, adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, etc. – about the value and the importance of gender-affirming care,” Levine told NPR.

Assistant Health Secretary Is First Transgender Four-Star Officer

Assistant Health Secretary Rachel Levine made history Tuesday by becoming the first openly transgender four-star officer in America’s eight uniformed services.

Levine, 63, was ceremonially sworn in as an admiral in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps by Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced. . .

President Biden nominated Levine as assistant secretary for health in February of this year and [he] was narrowly confirmed by the Senate the following month. [He] is the first transgender person to hold an office that requires Senate confirmation.

Levine had previously spent three-and-a-half years as Pennsylvania’s health secretary, where [he] oversaw the Keystone State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. During [his] confirmation process, Levine was criticized by some Republicans for being in charge when her department ordered COVID-19 patients to be readmitted to nursing homes — similar to the scandal that enveloped the administration of former New York Gov.
