It’s Now Racist to Ask Students to ‘Be Respectful in Class’

White professors can no longer tell their students to “be respectful in class” or ask them to take their feet off of desks or to turn off their phones, lest they be investigated for racial bias.

Anita Moss, a senior lecturer of biology at the University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) was investigated after she called police on a repeatedly disruptive student, according to the College Fix. Moss, who is white, had been telling Paige Burgess, who is black, all semester to be less disruptive and to take her feet off of chairs.

The tweet went viral and media outlets like BET claimed Burgess was removed simply for being black and putting her feet up. Rawal continued tweeting that in the prior class, Moss “went on a whole tirade about how uncivil we all were because a few students were on their phone or not paying attention, cutting lecture time for the rest of us because her ego was bruised.” . . .

UTSA conducted an investigation and found Moss did not discriminate against the student. The university spoke to Burgess, interviewed current and previous students, and concluded “racial bias was not a factor.” Burgess herself said she never thought she was disciplined because of the color of her skin.

Even though Moss was cleared of racial discrimination and had positive reviews from students, she was removed from class for the semester. The racial bias investigation was not the only investigation going on. Her demands for proper classroom etiquette were also reviewed, and led to her removal, the Fix reported. ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’ Is Now Racist

Another holiday classic has been slapped with the label “racist” by SJWs for supposedly marginalizing the token black character: “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.”

People on social media have expressed outrage over the fact that the lone black character Franklin in “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” appears seated differently juxtaposed to the white characters during the famous dinner scene where Charlie Brown serves popcorn and toast to his hungry guests instead of turkey and stuffing. . .

“Not watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving anymore, until they sit some people on the same side of the table as Franklin,” said one Twitter user.

“How come Franklin, Charlie Brown’s only black friend, sits alone on the other side of the table? And in a lawn chair,” said another Twitter user. “Am I woke now, why is Franklin in Charlie Brown Thanksgiving sitting all by himself at the table. Man. Things that I did not notice as a child,” said another.

One Twitter user said the scene was reminiscent of the film “Get Out,” a story about rich, white liberals who insert their brains into black people’s bodies: “Let’s talk about Franklin. Dude gets invited to Charlie Brown’s by Peppermint Patty. Then he finds out that it wasn’t a real invite, a dog is cooking the food and he’s gotta sit by himself at dinner. That’s Get Out.”

Americans Disagree About What Racism Is, and It’s a Big Problem

According to a recent NBC News poll, 62 percent of Americans polled said racism is a “major problem.” Last year, Gallup found that 42 percent are “very worried about race relations.” In 2001, when Gallup began that survey, the percentage was only 28 percent, and in 2010 it was a mere 13 percent.

There are many plausible explanations for this jump, including a spate of media-highlighted, race-related police shootings and the controversial presidency of Donald Trump. What is less clear is how our society can reverse this trend. One tremendous obstacle to improving race relations is that Americans cannot even agree on what racism is.

There are two basic definitions of racism in the United States, one roughly associated with progressives and one roughly associated with conservatives. The former describes racism as the failure to acknowledge and seek to redress systemic discrimination against select disadvantaged minority groups. It is very broad and captures everything from unconscious bias to white supremacy. The latter views racism as making assumptions about, or taking action towards, an individual or group on the sole basis of their race. It is narrow and generally requires belief, intent, and animosity.

These definitions don’t simply differ; to a great extent they actually contradict each other. Much of the contradiction stems from the fact that the progressive definition of racism requires that an advantaged individual or group must be attacking the less privileged. The more conservative and narrow definition of racism requires no appeal to power structures, only to bias, and can be committed by anyone towards anyone.

A very current example of this disagreement over the term can be seen in the media’s treatment of white women after the 2016 and 2018 elections. Many progressives have argued that white women voted in a racist manner in order to uphold their privileged place in the white male patriarchy. Many conservatives balk at this and claim a double standard exists, since a white person making similar attacks on a minority group would be almost certainly be called racist. Don Lemon’s Attack on ‘White Men’ Isn’t Just Racist, It’s Incredibly Misleading

The notion that a person’s race predisposes him to act violently is unequivocally racist. It’s also easily debunked by a cursory reading of history. Then again, in today’s environment, where identity politics often strips Americans of their accomplishments, ideas, and actions so they can be judged by their melanin, it’s an unsurprising thing to hear.

“I keep trying to point out to people and, not to demonize any one group or any one ethnicity,” CNN host Don Lemon explained to his colleague Chris Cuomo, before telling him that “the biggest terror threat in this country is white men,” adding that “there is no travel ban on them”

This isn’t a new accusation. Now, Lemon is right that the vast majority of white shooters are men. He’s also correct that men are more violent than women. The majority of men in the United States are white. So some quick back-of-the-envelope calculation informs us that most shooters are probably going to be white men, just as most murderers in Arab countries are Arab men and most murderers in Asian countries are Asian men and so on.

A terrorist is a person who uses illegal violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. This is not a movement. These white men have no palpable ideological or philosophical connection. They are not part of a concerted effort. They do not idolize the same people or subscribe to the same set of ideas. They do not share a worldview. Most of them do not kill in the name of “whiteness.” Few of them have a coherent message. I have as much to do with the Pittsburgh shooter as Lemon does.

The left-winger who yelled “This is for health care” before attempting to assassinate Republican congressional leadership in 2017 — somehow Lemon overlooked this event in his rant about angry white men — has nothing to do with the man who yelled “All Jews must die” when killing 11 innocent people at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. There is no nexus between the person threatening Republicans with ricin letters and the person threatening Democrats with pipe bombs. White Journalist Dies Months After Racially Motivated Attack

Jerry Wolkowitz, a freelance journalist and EMT, died on Thursday months after he was attacked for being a “white man.”

Wolkowitz, 56, was attacked in New Jersey on May 1 by 26-year-old Jamil S. Hubbard.

“[Wolkowitz] was punched in the head and then dragged into the parking lot before being run over by a Chevrolet Malibu. His blue Kia Forte was then stolen,” the Asbury Park Press reported. . .

Hubbard was originally charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and bias intimidation, and a grand jury later added armed robbery, eluding and theft.

Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Keri-Leigh Schaefer said Hubbard chose his victim because “he was a white man” and wanted to kill him because of his race. (Read more from “White Journalist Dies Months After Racially Motivated Attack” HERE)

Steakhouse Customer Banned for Racist Note to Waiter – Then the Truth Comes Out

By The Blaze. A waiter at a Texas steakhouse made national news when he said a customer left a racist note on his receipt, but the truth has since come out and it’s drastically different from what the waiter claimed. . .

The note supposedly read, “we don’t tip terrorist [sic],” and circled the name of the server, which is “Khalil.” . . .

After making national news, [Khalil] Cavil [the waiter] admitted the story was a hoax.

“I did write it,” Cavil said Monday. “I don’t have an explanation. I made a mistake. There is no excuse for what I did.” . . .

“I’m sorry. I deeply made a huge, big mistake,” Cavil said. “And I’m in the process of getting the help that I need.” (Read more from “Steakhouse Customer Banned for Racist Note to Waiter – Then the Truth Comes Out” HERE)

Saltgrass Coo, Waiter Says Racism Story Made Up

By OA Online. he Odessa waiter whose story about being called a terrorist by a customer spurred national attention last week now admits it was all a hoax.

The waiter, Khalil Cavil, 20, admitted he wrote the racist note himself in a Monday interview with the Odessa American, where he apologized to a reporter “because I did lie to you.” . . .

Cavil’s call followed a press release from Saltgrass Steak House revealing the hoax. Cavil had lied about receiving the note calling him a terrorist while working at the restaurant on July 14.

Terry Turney, COO of Saltgrass, issued this: “After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story. The customer has been contacted and invited back to our restaurant to dine on us. Racism of any form is intolerable, and we will always act swiftly should it occur in any of our establishments. Falsely accusing someone of racism is equaling disturbing.”

Cavil claimed he was left no tip and that “we don’t tip terrorist” was written on the receipt. Cavil had said he hoped the post would spur conversation “about this hatred that is still going on, that is still here and prevalent. I just wanted people to understand that.” (Read more from “Saltgrass Coo, Waiter Says Racism Story Made Up” HERE)

Black Student Suspended, Allegedly Told He ‘Looked Like Someone Who Might Commit Sexual Assault’

An African-American graduate student at the University of Missouri was suspended after asking a white woman on a date. He had been previously accused of sexual misconduct, but was found not responsible. He claims an administrator told him during the first investigation that he “looked like someone who might commit sexual assault.” . . .

The student, identified in court documents as John Doe, was a doctoral candidate in Cultural Anthropology, and took dance fitness classes at the Student Recreation Center. During the 2015-2016 school year, John developed what he thought was a friendship with a female fitness class instructor (The Daily Wire is not naming her since it is not naming the accused student). John asked the instructor on a date in April 2016, and claims she said she was busy but discussed going out later that month. On April 18, she sent John a message asking him “to stop making romantic advances toward her,” according to his lawsuit. She did, however, indicate that she still wanted him to attend her dance classes and wanted their friendship to remain professional.

John apologized and said he would keep their relationship professional. That fall, he asked the instructor to recommend YouTube videos that could help him improve his dance technique. She suggested he take private lessons, but that she did not teach private lessons. For the next week, the instructor avoided John during her classes. . .

After this, Rec Center Associate Director Emily Bach McElwaine told Mizzou’s Title IX office that John had harassed and stalked four women who worked at the rec center, including the instructor. She apparently sent in allegations on behalf of three other women.

On October 20, the instructor was interviewed and said that John’s communications were “bizarre” and made her “uncomfortable.” On November 7, 2016, Title IX investigator Amber Lammers sent John a notice that he was being investigated for sexual harassment and stalking. John said during his interview with Lammers that he was concerned about the involvement of Salama Gallimore, who had, according to John, told him during a previous Title IX investigation that he “looked like someone who might commit sexual assault.” John was assured Gallimore would not be involved in this investigation. Man Loses His Job After Viral Video Shows Him Asking Black Woman for THIS

By The Blaze. A North Carolina man accused of racial profiling at his neighborhood pool has lost his job after a video of the incident went viral on social media this week, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.

On Wednesday afternoon, Adam Bloom, a white man, allegedly asked Jasmine Edwards to show her identification at the Glenridge community pool in Winston-Salem.

Edwards, who claimed Bloom asked her for her ID because she is black, shot video after police arrived to help diffuse the situation. A few hours later, she posted the video on her Facebook account and it went viral.

Bloom’s employer, Sonoco, saw the video and posted a statement on Facebook that said he’s “no longer employed by the company in any respect.”

. . .

Bloom asked Edwards where she lived and to show him her ID while she was at the pool, which is only open to residents and their guests. (Read more from “Man Loses His Job After Viral Video Shows Him Asking Black Woman for THIS” HERE)

Racist Bar Pays ‘People of Color’ $10 Each as a Symbolic ‘Reparation’ From White People

A bar in Portland, Oregon, this week hosted a “Reparations Happy Hour” and gave “people of color” $10 in cash as they arrived. The money was a “symbolic gift” funded by white people, according to published reports. . .

The event was organized by a local activist group “Brown Hope,” as a place for people of color to “meet, organize, discuss public policy and potentially plan various actions,” Fox News reported.

Reparations is a concept that today’s white people are “responsible” for giving monetary compensation for slavery, Jim Crow, and the wealth gap between white and black households. In a 2016 poll, the concept was supported by 58 percent of black people and 46 percent of Hispanic people. . .

Robert Brown, an economist, has said the total amount of reparations needed is between $1.4 trillion to $4.7 trillion. The money, Brown and those of a similar mindset say, would give the black community the wealth and community position it missed out on due to slavery and discrimination, the report stated. . .

About 100 people, most of them white, donated to Whitten’s happy hour event on Monday, according to the report. There are also plans for an upcoming “Reparations Power Hour” for people who don’t drink. Viral Video of Black Man Demanding (And Getting) Free ‘Reparations’ Coffee from Starbucks Is Not What You Think

Political vlogger Bryan Sharpe, AKA “Hotep Jesus,” filmed himself walking into a Starbucks and demanding free “reparations” coffee from a white barista in light of recent allegedly racist incidents involving black men at two of the company’s stores. Sharpe did indeed receive the free coffee and the video quickly went viral online. In Twitter postings, Sharpe implored other black folks to tape themselves demanding free coffee, too, as part of the “#StarbucksChallenge.”

Sharpe’s stunt, however, was not done to get free things by virtue of his skin tone and encourage others “entitled” to do the same, but to highlight how “white guilt” and “black privilege” got him free coffee, which, he says, is actually racist.

He also noted the potent “business” aspect to modern ostensibly anti-racism movements.

“Racism is a business,” Sharpe told The Blaze. “Thanks to the ridiculousness of BLM activists, it’s the new publicity stunt — and I think I just proved it.”

Prefacing the event, Sharpe says at the top of the video that he’s about to go inside the Starbucks located behind him and get his “free coffee.” He was apparently confident the white guilt at any liberal Starbucks would be abundant.
