Donald Jr. Goes After Roy Moore: He’s Doing a Disservice to All Conservatives and Spreading Fake News

. . .Roy Moore has decided to cross President Trump and virtually the entire Republican Party by once again running for US Senate in Alabama. Moore infamously managed to lose Jeff Sessions’ old seat to a Democrat last year, squandering what should have been a slam dunk in a state Trump carried over Hillary Clinton by nearly 30 points. GOP voters in the state ignored the president’s endorsement, and multiple warnings from the national party, in the previous primary process, resulting in an electoral catastrophe. Moore was a disastrous nominee, combining strident extremism and prejudice with a cringeworthy scandal about which he lied and misdirected. Liberal Doug Jones won the special election, thanks to quite a lot of anti-Moore crossover support.

Jones is highly likely to lose in 2020, an outcome that could help Republicans retain the Senate, which is very much undetermined. Perhaps the only way Jones could cling on is if the fatally-flawed Moore somehow persuades Alabama Republicans to once again endanger a Senate seat by selecting him as their standard bearer. President Trump has very explicitly urged Moore not to run this time (Moore didn’t even concede his last race, making him the Stacy Abrams of the Right, except his loss was in a crimson red state), but the twice-suspended ex-judge evidently doesn’t care. And he’s trying to pretend that he’s not flouting the president’s wishes with his newly-announced campaign, but Don Jr. is having none of it:

Other elements of the party are similarly uniting against Moore, a crank who has already directly proven that he’s capable of handing this “safe” seat to the Democrats. Much like his effect on high school girls, Moore would yet again make this seat unsafe:

Roy Moore Fires Back at President Trump over Recent Tweets

Controversial Republican Judge Roy Moore had a stern response to President Trump on Wednesday, indicating that the people of Alabama wouldn’t withhold their votes because of Trump’s refusal to support him in 2020.

“The president doesn’t control who votes for the United States Senate in Alabama,” he said, according to Politico.

Trump, who backed Moore as he faced sexual misconduct allegations during his Senate bid in 2017, said on Wednesday that he had “NOTHING” against Moore but didn’t think he could win a 2020 bid. . .

Moore pushed back on the president’s comments, arguing, “People in Alabama are smarter than that. They elect the senator from Alabama, not from Washington, D.C.”

In another interview, Moore suggested that the president was backing away from his candidacy because “people in Washington” pressured him.

Trump Just Torpedoed Roy Moore’s Alabama Senate Campaign Before It Started

(Editor’s note: We think it is pathetic that the Blaze would refer to Judge Moore as a “failed Senate candidate.” The hit on Roy Moore was an orchestrated take-down by the Establishment. Nevertheless, we include this post because it’s newsworthy)

Former judge and failed Senate candidate Roy Moore hasn’t even officially announced his second attempt to run for an Alabama Senate seat, and President Donald Trump has already come out strongly against the idea.

Earlier this week, Moore was the recipient of a scathing rebuke from the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr. Today, POTUS himself sent a clear message to Moore: Don’t run.

“Republicans cannot allow themselves to again lose the Senate seat in the Great State of Alabama,” Pres. Trump tweeted. “This time it will be for Six Years, not just Two. I have NOTHING against Roy Moore, and unlike many other Republican leaders, wanted him to win. But he didn’t, and probably won’t.” . . .

The president brings up some valid points in his tweets. Moore, burdened by a scandal related to relationships with underage girls, lost a special election that should’ve been a sure thing for Republicans. And while the GOP was able to extend its control over the Senate in 2018, not regaining the Alabama seat in 2020 would be a blow to the party in a severely pro-Trump state.

Democrats Tried to Sabotage Roy Moore With Second Fake Facebook Campaign During Alabama Election

By The Blaze. A group of progressive Democrats tried to undermine Roy Moore’s Senate campaign by associating him with alcohol prohibition with a fake Facebook page, hoping to scare off moderate and business-oriented Republican voters, according to The New York Times.

The effort, called “Dry Alabama,” is the second reported online false flag operation by Democrats who sought to weaponize fabricated online information to influence the election.

Matt Osborne, an activist who helped with the effort, justified the tactics by claiming Republicans do the same thing.

“If you don’t do it, you’re fighting with one hand tied behind your back,” Osborne told NYT. “You have a moral imperative to do this—to do whatever it takes.”

About the fake page: Dry Alabama was a Facebook page that was made to look as if it was run by a group of Moore supporters who wanted to outlaw alcohol in Alabama. The issue is somewhat divisive among Alabama Republicans as fewer counties remain dry. Democrats Faked Online Push to Outlaw Alcohol in Alabama Race

By The New York Times. The “Dry Alabama” Facebook page, illustrated with stark images of car wrecks and videos of families ruined by drink, had a blunt message: Alcohol is the devil’s work, and the state should ban it entirely.

Along with a companion Twitter feed, the Facebook page appeared to be the work of Baptist teetotalers who supported the Republican, Roy S. Moore, in the 2017 Alabama Senate race. “Pray for Roy Moore,” one tweet exhorted.

In fact, the Dry Alabama campaign, not previously reported, was the stealth creation of progressive Democrats who were out to defeat Mr. Moore — the second such secret effort to be unmasked. In a political bank shot made in the last two weeks of the campaign, they thought associating Mr. Moore with calls for a statewide alcohol ban would hurt him with moderate, business-oriented Republicans and assist the Democrat, Doug Jones, who won the special election by a hair-thin margin. Liberal Billionaire Apologizes for Funding Russian Bot ‘False Flag’ – but Questions Remain Unanswered

By The Daily Caller. Billionaire Reid Hoffman apologized Wednesday for funding an effort to dupe Alabama voters into believing Russian bots were fueling Republican Roy Moore’s failed senatorial bid. But he left crucial questions unanswered.

His statement left several important facts about the so-called experiment unaddressed, including a detailed accounting of everyone involved in the caper, as well who crafted and executed the campaign. The effort was the subject of a closed-door presentation in Washington, D.C., to a group of liberal technology experts, The Washington Post reported, citing anonymous sources.

“I find the tactics that have been recently reported highly disturbing,” Hoffman said in his statement. “For that reason, I am embarrassed by my failure to track AET — the organization I did support — more diligently as it made its own decisions to perhaps fund projects that I would reject.”

The Hoffman-financed group allegedly used Facebook and Twitter to undermine support for Moore and boost Democrat Doug Jones, who narrowly won the race. Hoffman referred to a group he funded, American Engagement Technologies (AET), as being involved in the effort. . .

Hoffman, like Jones, who barely beat Moore, supports any investigations into the matter. “I proudly support aggressive campaigning – both on the ground and digitally – and that is why we’ve funded organizations that help expand civic engagement,” the Silicon Valley billionaire said, adding that the funding was made on the promise that the organization would use the money to combat “fake news and bot armies.” (Read more from “Liberal Billionaire Apologizes for Funding Russian Bot ‘False Flag’ – but Questions Remain Unanswered” HERE)

Reid Hoffman Apologizes for Funding a Group That Allegedly Spread Misinformation in Alabama Senate Race

By CNBC. LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman apologized Wednesday for funding a group that allegedly had a hand in spreading misinformation during the 2017 Alabama Senate race.

In a post on his Medium blog, Hoffman said he was not aware of the tactics alleged in the New York Times article that called out his ties to American Engagement Technologies. . .

The project only had a budget of $100,000, according to Federal Election Commission records reviewed by the Times. A person close to the matter told the Washington Post that Hoffman invested $750,000 in AET.

“I categorically disavow the use of misinformation to sway an election,” Hoffman wrote in the Medium post. “In fact, I have deliberately funded multiple organizations trying to re-establish civic, truth-focused discourse in the US. I would not have knowingly funded a project planning to use such tactics, and would have refused to invest in any organization that I knew might conduct such a project.” (Read more from “Reid Hoffman Apologizes for Funding a Group That Allegedly Spread Misinformation in Alabama Senate Race” HERE)

Roy Moore Goes After Election Accusers, Alleges ‘Political Conspiracy’

By The Blaze. After his failed bid for a US Senate seat in Alabama last year, Roy Moore has filed a lawsuit alleging that the women who accused him during the campaign of sexual misconduct from years prior were part of a political conspiracy against him.

Just an hour before a joint news conference with his wife, Kayla, Moore and his spouse filed the suit in Etowah County against defendants Leigh Corfman, Tina Johnson, Beverly Young Nelson and Debbie Wesson Gibson. A friend of Corfman’s, Richard Hagedorn, was also named.

Moore’s attorney, Melissa Isaak said, “We intend to show the people of Alabama that a political conspiracy came about to ruin his campaign for Senate. And to defame him, defame his character, so that the people of Alabama would not vote for him during the special Senate election.”

The plaintiffs are asking for both compensatory and punitive damages “in an amount that will adequately reflect the enormity of the defendants’ wrongful, outrageous acts” and an amount high enough to deter future accusations. (Read more from “Roy Moore Goes After Election Accusers” HERE)

Roy Moore Files Lawsuit Against 3 Women, Alleging ‘Political Conspiracy’

By CNN. Failed Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore says the women who accused him of sexual assault were part of a political conspiracy, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.

The suit was jointly filed with his wife, Kayla, about an hour before the two held a news conference. It was Moore’s first public appearance since election night in December, when Moore, a Republican, was upset by Democrat Doug Jones. The defendants include three women who made accusations against Moore as well as two other people.

“This was filed because the people of Alabama deserve to know the truth,” said Melissa Isaak, an attorney representing Moore. “The accusations made against Judge Moore during the US Senate campaign arose from a political conspiracy to destroy his personal reputation and defeat him in the special Senate election for United States Senate.”

The suit is asking for compensatory damages from all defendants listed along with interest from the date of the injuries and the court costs. The suit is also asking for punitive damages “in an amount that will adequately reflect the enormity of the defendants’ wrongful, outrageous acts” and an amount that will prevent similar acts. Moore Accuser Leaves GOP, Will Run for House as Democrat

A woman who claims to have dated failed Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore when she was only a teenager has now reportedly changed her party affiliation from Republican to Democrat.

According to The Hill, Deborah Gibson said she was only 17 when she and the Republican politician — who was 34 — dated, and that she has left the GOP in order to vie for a spot as a Democrat in the Florida Legislature.

The sought-after spot by the newly-initiated Democrat is for the 89th District seat in the Florida House, a position that is currently held by Republican Bill Hager.

“Coming off the sidelines for the first time politically seems a natural response to realizing that too many of us, particularly women, have felt that some special mysterious qualification was needed to participate in our democratic process as a candidate,” said Gibson, whose statement was posted on her campaign’s fundraising site.

“The past 5 months have crystallized what’s been coming to me for a decade more gradually — the Republican Party is no longer the right fit for me,” she added. “I am proudly running as a Democrat.”

Gibson had been one of the first women to come forward, accusing Moore of inappropriate behavior in a report by the Washington Post last fall, and even shared a card that Moore allegedly gave her when she graduated from high school.

“Happy graduation Debbie,” the card states. “I wanted to give you this card myself. I know that you’ll be a success in anything you do. Roy.”

The romantic pursual reportedly began when Moore was an Alabama chief justice for the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office and had spoken at the high school Gibson attended.

The accusation was just one among a handful of women accusing the Alabama hopeful of having a relationship with them while they were only teenagers and he was in his thirties, with select others alleging sexual misconduct.

Though noting the differentiating age of the pair, Gibson said that Moore hadn’t assaulted her, but that their brief relationship consisted “only of consensual kissing.”

The peak of the allegations occurred during his Senate campaign last year, where he ran against Democratic opponent Doug Jones.

The allegations spurned a back and forth between both the women and Moore, Democrats and Republicans alike, as it came amid the ever-growing “Me Too” movement that helped give a voice for victims of sexual harassment or abuse to come forward.

Moore vehemently denied the allegations, labeling the women as liars and citing the accusations as a ploy created by the Democrats to end him politically. He ultimately lost the special election to Jones later in December.

Leigh Corfman, one of the women who had accused Moore of assault, has reportedly filed a defamation suit against Moore, alleging that his campaign and the politician himself defamed her by stating she was immoral and a liar.

As for Gibson, who intends to pursue her political pursuit despite a rough beginning in the world of politics, stated on her fundraising site that her platform includes “equality for all, common sense gun law reform,” and “education quality and access” among a host of other issues.

“There is a Chinese proverb that says ‘Women hold up half the sky,’” Gibson wrote on her site. “Yet women do not hold 50% of the positions in our government.”

“Division has itself become a primary and proximate issue, and it is time that we govern again,” she added. “I humbly ask your support for a place at the stakeholder table.” (For more from the author of “Moore Accuser Leaves GOP, Will Run for House as Democrat” please click HERE)

Roy Moore Accuser’s Home Burns; Arson Investigation Underway

Roy Moore accuser Tina Johnson lost her home Wednesday in a fire that is now under investigation by the Etowah County Arson Task Force.

Tina Johnson, who first came to public notice for accusing Senate candidate Roy Moore of grabbing her in his office in the early 1990s, said her home on Lake Mary Louise Road in Gadsden caught fire Tuesday morning.

After neighbors and some utility workers called 911 shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Lookout Mountain Fire Department responded to the scene. By the time the flames were extinguished, Johnson and her family had lost everything they owned.

“I am devastated, just devastated,” said Johnson on Friday morning. “We have just the clothes on our backs.”

Nobody appears to have been harmed in the blaze; Johnson and her husband were at work, and her grandson was at school. (Read more from “Roy Moore Accuser’s Home Burns; Arson Investigation Underway” HERE)

Roy Moore Sues for Election Fraud

The Daily Mail. Alabama election officials declared Democrat Doug Jones the winner of a special Senate election held earlier this month.

A judge had rejected Roy Moore’s attempt to stop the state from making his defeat final. The state’s canvassing board met and signed the papers shortly after 1:00 p.m. local time.

Montgomery Circuit Judge Johnny Hardwick on Thursday denied Moore’s attempt to delay the certification of votes while Moore’s claims of voter fraud are investigated.

Hardwick said he lacked jurisdiction to decide the case – meaning that Moore, a former state Supreme Court chief justice, may have filed the lawsuit in the wrong court.

Moore had sued late Wednesday night in an 11th-hour attempt to stop Alabama from certifying Jones as the winner. (Read more from “Roy Moore Sues for Election Fraud” HERE)

Moore Says He Took Polygraph After Election to Confirm Accusations Were False

By Olivia Beavers. Republican Roy Moore says he completed a lie detector test after the Alabama Senate election concluded to prove the allegations of sexual misconduct are untrue as he seeks to challenge his loss to Democrat Doug Jones.

“Also provided in the complaint is an affidavit from Judge Roy Moore stating that he successfully completed a polygraph test confirming the representations of misconduct made against him during the campaign are completely false,” Moore’s campaign said in a Wednesday press release.

In a reliably Republican state, Moore’s campaign became rocked by multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

Several women accused the former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice of touching them sexually when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s. (Read more from “Moore Says He Took Polygraph After Election to Confirm Accusations Were False” HERE)

Roy Moore Accuser Reveals Her Plans for the Senate Candidate Following Election Loss

After the defeat of Roy Moore on Tuesday to Doug Jones for the Alabama Senate seat, one voice in particular is speaking out about what she feels is the next step for the disgraced candidate.

Beverly Young Nelson, a woman who has accused Moore of sexual assaulting her when she was only a teenager and he was in his 30s, recently suggested the allegations still need to be investigated.

“I feel like my story may have played a part in this,” Nelson told CNN, referencing Moore’s loss in the race. “But I also believe that it was the other victims as well that also helped, you know, with all this.”

“I feel like it was just not me,” she added. “It was all of us.”

As reported by The Western Journal, Moore was first accused of inappropriate behavior by Leigh Corfman, stating the alleged unwanted advances happened when she was only 14 and he was 32.

Since Corfman’s story, numerous women — including Nelson — have accused Moore of unwanted advances.

Moore has vehemently denied all accusations against him.

According to Time Magazine, Nelson backed up her claim using the women’s’ stories while suggestively calling out the rumors that she had accused Moore on the grounds of ruining his run for Senate.

“I’m very excited over that because, you know, there’s no reason for me to go and lie on television when this was, you know, the truth from day one,” Nelson said.

Earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated that, should Moore win, the Alabama politician would face an ethics investigation.

It’s an investigation Nelson claims she won’t back down from demanding.

“I intend on still pursuing it,” Nelson said. “I’m not giving up.”

The highly publicized election was held earlier this week and resulted in Moore losing to Jones, with Jones becoming the first Democratic senator to represent the state of Alabama in nearly two decades.

The win has raised concerns among conservative groups that Jones could potentially pose as an obstacle for Republican lawmakers in their attempt to pass tax reform and numerous other bills.

The result of Jones’ victory also means that Republicans control the House of Delegates by a slim 51-49, leaving little room within the party for defection on a bill.

However, until Alabama’s Secretary of State John Merrill certifies the win sometime between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3, Jones cannot be seated.

The Senate has yet to set an official date for Jones’ swearing in. (For more from the author of “Roy Moore Accuser Reveals Her Plans for the Senate Candidate Following Election Loss” please click HERE)
