Sarah Huckabee Sanders Refuses to Remove Her Kids’ Cross-Themed Chalk Drawing at the Governor’s Mansion

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) shared a photo of chalk artwork her children created on the ground outside the governor’s mansion.

“New artwork to welcome people into the Governor’s mansion! So proud of how hard the kids worked and how well their masterpiece turned out!” Sanders wrote when sharing a photo.

The design features a large cross at the center of a what appears to resemble a colorful stained-glass window.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State called for the governor to remove the artwork.

“Promotion of one religion over others through a religious display at an entrance to the Mansion sends the impermissible message that those who do not share the favored faith are unwelcome and will be treated differently,” the group’s letter reads. “While you and your family members are free to create and display religious imagery in private areas of your Mansion and its grounds, displaying a cross at an entrance ‘to welcome people into the Governor’s mansion’ violates the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders Bans ‘Latinx’ From Arkansas Government Documents

Arkansas Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will prohibit the use of the term “Latinx” in government documents through an executive order.

Sanders, who was sworn in as the first female governor of Arkansas on Tuesday, justified the ban of the word “Latinx” in government documents and name titles by citing a Pew Research poll that found only 3% of American Latinos and Hispanics used the term to describe themselves.

“Ethnically insensitive and pejorative language has no place in official government documents or government employee titles,” Sanders’ executive order states. “The government has a responsibility to respect its citizens and use ethnically appropriate language, particularly when referring to ethnic minorities.”

Progressive groups and some politicians have pushed the term “Latinx” in recent years as a gender-neutral alternative to the Spanish words Latina and Latino.

Sanders noted in the executive order that the Real Academia Española, a Madrid-based institution that serves as a linguistic guide for Spanish, officially rejects the use of “x” to replace “o” and “a” as a way to identify gender in the language. Former Trump Press Secretary Becomes State’s First Female Governor

Republican Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders won her race against Democratic nominee Chris Jones, according to multiple election forecasters.

The former White House press secretary under former President Donald Trump had won 71.6%, while Jones won 26.9% with 4% reporting, according to the AP. Sanders is the first female governor of Arkansas, and her father, Mike Huckabee, previously served as Arkansas governor from 1996 to 2007.

The state’s current executive, Republican Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, is leaving office due to term limits. Trump had previously encouraged Sanders to run for governor in the state. (Read more from “Former Trump Press Secretary Becomes State’s First Female Governor” HERE)

Sarah Sanders: So Hillary Will Be Arrested Now Right?

Longtime Trump associate Roger Stone was arrested Thursday night for one count of obstruction, five counts of false statements and one count of witness tampering as part of the larger special counsel Russia investigation. The FBI raided his home and “terrorized” his family, Stone said outside a Florida courthouse Friday. He told a crowd of hecklers he plans to plead not guilty to the alleged crimes.

Of course, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders expected the press pool to ask her for her reaction to Stone’s arrest. But she wasn’t a fan of how some reporters framed their inquires, particularly the individual who suggested that President Trump encouraged Stone to lie to Congress.

White House Slams Democrats for Puerto Rico Vacation During Shutdown

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders harshly criticized Democratic lawmakers for flying to Puerto Rico for a political event and vacationing during a partial government shutdown.

Democratic lawmakers like New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez were spotted on the beaches of Puerto Rico during a meeting for a political action committee which supports the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. The retreat comes on the 24th day of a partial government shutdown, the longest funding lapse in the history of the U.S. . .

Democrats have refused to budge from their position of $1.6 billion with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi even telling Trump in a situation room meeting last week that even if Trump reopened the government they would not negotiate. Trump is now exploring funding options to begin construction on the wall, including declaring a national emergency. Sarah Sanders Finds Herself Another Unlikely Defender After Restaurant Incident

By Townhall. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders has found herself another unlikely defender after getting booted from a Virginia restaurant simply for working for the Trump administration: Former President Bill Clinton.

On Tuesday, Clinton stopped by “The Daily Show” to promote his new book, “The President Is Missing,” which he co-authored with famed thriller novelist, James Patterson. However, it didn’t take long for host Trevor Noah to shift the conversation to today’s debate about civility and whether or not Sanders deserved to be kicked out of a restaurant because of her political affiliations.

“That’s a decision for the restaurant owner to make,” Clinton started out.

“But,” he continued, “what I’d like to point out is, would it be better if that didn’t happen? I think it would.” . . .

“I read the article about the lady who owned the restaurant,” he told Noah, “and I wound up with a lot of respect for the way for the way she debated it. But I also had a lot of respect for the way Sarah Huckabee Sanders handled it. I mean, she was very dignified, she didn’t chew them out, she didn’t pitch a fight, she didn’t call them ‘an immigrant-loving thug’ or whatever. ‘Sarah Sanders Welcome Any Time,’ NY Restaurant’s Sign Says

By Fox News. A restaurant in New York received the praise of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on Tuesday after posting a sign outside that said Sarah Sanders was “welcome any time.”

The father of the White House press secretary, who was booted from a Virginia-based restaurant on Friday, shared a photo on Twitter of an orange sign posted outside Kipps Restaurant.

“OPEN! BREAKFAST SARAH SANDERS WELCOME ANY TIME,” the message said.

The former Arkansas governor mused that the South Wales, N.Y. eatery, “looks like my kind of place!”

New Development in Red Hen Story — Huckabee Says Owner Tailed Sarah’s Family After She Left

That intolerance was on gross display over the weekend when it was revealed that the liberal owner of a small restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, had kicked out White House press secretary Sarah Sanders and her dinner party rather than tolerantly serve a member of the Trump administration with whom they disagree politically.

The incident first came to light when an employee of the Red Hen restaurant bragged on social media about how his owner had kicked out Sanders, and Sanders later responded with a tweet that provided her side of the account.

The Washington Post interviewed the restaurant owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, and reported that everything had been handled peacefully, politely and without much a scene being caused.

But in a radio interview Monday with talk show host Laura Ingraham, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee — father of the press secretary — revealed another part of the story that had conveniently been left out of the account by WaPo and the restaurateur, according to Mediaite.

The initial confrontation in the Red Hen may have been handled smoothly and with politeness, but it apparently didn’t end there, as the owner of the Red Hen is alleged to have followed Sanders’ in-laws who had been with her at the Red Hen to another restaurant and continued to harass them there. Jim Carrey unveiled a new work of art over the weekend, this time a warped depiction of White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, whom the “Ace Ventura” actor described as “monstrous” and a “so-called Christian.”

The actor was immediately hit with criticism over the drawing.

Jim Carrey’s Crude Portrait of Trump Draws New Backlash

Actor Jim Carrey drew new backlash Monday after posting artwork in which President Trump is depicted as the Wicked Witch of the West — just days after he sparked similar outrage with a “portrait” of White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

“If you liked my last cartoon you may also enjoy… ‘THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST WING AND PUTIN’S FLYING MONKEYS,” Carrey tweeted, in reference to the evil antagonist from “The Wizard of Oz.”

The actor’s artwork follows a picture he tweeted an image of on Saturday, which he stated was a “portrait of a so-called Christian whose only purpose in life is to lie for the wicked. Monstrous!”

Carrey didn’t identify who was in the picture, and his spokesperson wouldn’t confirm to The Associated Press that it was Sanders, but many Twitter users seemed to know who it was.

The press secretary’s father, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, wrote that Carrey is a “Pathetic BULLY, sexist, hater, bigot & ‘Christaphobe” who “attacks @PressSec for her faith; what would be hypocritical Hollywood reaction if he called someone a ‘so-called Muslim’ or ‘so-called Jew?’ #classlessCarrey.”
