Special Forces Veteran Wanted for Murder Found Dead in Tennessee Woods

A special forces veteran wanted for second degree attempted murder was found dead Wednesday in woods “several miles from his home,” according to CNN.

Preliminary findings indicate the cause of death of the veteran, Craig Berry, was a self-inflicted gunshot wound and it is thought that “he likely died not long after he fled early on May 1.”

NBC News reported a statement from the U.S. Marshals Service, which said, “We can confirm Craig Mark Berry is deceased and no longer a threat to the public.”

‘Armed and Dangerous’ Special Forces Veteran Hiding out in Tennessee Woods after Shooting Wife

A special forces veteran with “extensive” survival training has been on the lam for several days after he allegedly shot his wife at their Tennessee home and fled into the woods, according to authorities.

Craig Berry is wanted on a second-degree attempted murder charge for shooting his wife at his home in Dover around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, according to the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office.

Berry, a retired military special forces veteran, dashed into the woods near the residence in camouflage clothing before deputies could nab him, cops said.

His wife, who was not identified, was taken to a medical facility after the domestic altercation, police said. Her condition is not immediately known.

The department added in a statement that the multiagency manhunt for Berry across a heavily wooded stretch of the state may be “a lengthy process” as the vet has “extensive training in survival tactics” and is an “excellent swimmer and diver.”

He is considered “armed and dangerous” and vanished with at least one handgun. He is also believed to have taken extra ammunition, authorities added. (Read more from “‘Armed and Dangerous’ Special Forces Veteran Hiding out in Tennessee Woods after Shooting Wife” HERE)

Special Forces Officer Blocked 1,585 Afghans From UK

A UK Special Forces officer personally rejected 1,585 resettlement applications from Afghans with credible links to special forces, newly released documents say.

The files, disclosed by the Ministry of Defence in court on Thursday, show the unnamed UKSF officer rejected every application referred to him in the summer of 2023, in what was described as a “sprint”.

The MoD told the court that the officer may have been connected to matters under examination by the ongoing inquiry into alleged war crimes committed by the SAS.

The admission comes after the BBC revealed last week that the UKSF officer – who previously served in Afghanistan – rejected applications from Afghans who may have witnessed the alleged crimes.

Afghan commandos, known as the Triples, supported the SAS and SBS for years in Afghanistan and were in danger of reprisal after the Taliban seized back the country in 2021. (Read more from “Special Forces Officer Blocked 1,585 Afghans From UK” HERE)

Stolen Valor Scandal Deepens: Brazen Tim Walz Sparks Vets’ Fury After Wearing Hat Bearing US Army Special Forces Crest — a Unit He Never Served In

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was criticized for wearing a hat bearing the U.S. Army Special Forces crest – a unit he never served with. . .

During the show, a picture of the Minnesota governor wearing a camo hat featuring the Special Forces crest was shared.

Some view wearing a hat in support of a military organization as a kind gesture, but it is heavily criticized within military veteran circles. It is frowned upon because it is viewed as misleading people into thinking an individual served with a specific unit.

A U.S. Army Green Beret wrote on X: “Hey Tim Walz, this you? Do you often wear our crest even though you were only National Guard with zero deployments, never went through SFAS or the Q course, and by all accounts never even worked with Special Forces?”

Another X user commented: “As a 20+ year veteran, Tim Walz knows how offensive it is for someone to wear the insignia of a unit they weren’t a part of – especially the 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne). Time for an apology and promise never to do it again. Shame on you Walz.” (Read more from “Stolen Valor Scandal Deepens: Brazen Tim Walz Sparks Vets’ Fury After Wearing Hat Bearing US Army Special Forces Crest — a Unit He Never Served In” HERE)

Good Boy: British Special Forces Combat Dog Takes Down Three Syrian Jihadis, Saves Fellow Soldiers

By The Daily Wire. A Special Air Services dog is being hailed as a hero after he successfully fought off a Jihadi surprise attack while his unit was on patrol in Syria.

The un-named Belgian Malinois was on a “routine patrol” in a small Syrian village with six British Special Air Services soldiers, when the unit came under surprise attack — a “360 degree ambush,” the Daily Mail reports. The soldiers fired on the Jihadis, but they were out-manned, and quickly surrounded.

One of the soldiers let the dog out of his leash and signaled for the dog to attack. . .

“The handler removed the dog’s muzzle and directed him into a building from where they were coming under fire,” according to reports obtained by the Daily Star. “They could hear screaming and shouting before the firing from the house stopped.” . . .

“[The gunman’s] throat had been torn out and he had bled to death,” the report said. “There was also a lump of human flesh in one corner and a series of blood trails leading out of the back of the building.” (Read more from “Good Boy: British Special Forces Combat Dog Takes Down Three Syrian Jihadis, Saves Fellow Soldiers” HERE)

Top US General: Distress Call From Soldiers in Niger Ambush Not Received Until 1 Hour After Attack

American forces ambushed in Niger earlier this month did not call for support until an hour after the firefight they were in had begun, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Monday.

Gen. Joseph Dunford also said it was another hour before French air support was able to assist the embattled unit.

The 12 U.S. soldiers and roughly 30 Nigerien forces who were under attack on Oct 4 from about 50 terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State group requested support “approximately one hour after taking fire,” he said.

Dunford would not speculate further regarding the time frame.

“It’s important to note when they didn’t ask for support for that first hour, my judgment would be that that unit thought they could handle the situation without additional support,” he said. “And so well we’ll find out in the investigation exactly why it took an hour for them to call.”

Dunford said it is important not to read into that timing until investigators learn more.

“I make no judgment about how long it took them to ask for support. I don’t know that they thought they needed support prior to that time,” Dunford said. “I don’t know how this attack unfolded. I don’t know what their initial assessment was of what they were confronted with.”

He said that within minutes of the call for support, a U.S. drone was diverted from another mission to provide “full-motion video … right over the scene of the troops in contact.”

The French were notified at the same time. Mirage fighter jets were scrambled within 30 minutes and then took another 30 minutes to arrive at the sight of the fight near the northern border of Niger.

French attack helicopters also responded, Dunford said.

Two wounded U.S. soldiers were flown out by the French during the fight. In the evening, after the fight was over, three of the dead Americans were evacuated.

Dunford also said that he could not provide detailed information about why Sgt. La David Johnson’s body was found separated from the rest of the group. The other three Americans killed in the attack were found with the main group. Johnson’s body, which was found two days later, was discovered between one and two miles away.

He acknowledged that there’s a “perception that the Department of Defense has not been forthcoming.”

“I thought it would be helpful for me to personally clarify to you what we know today, and to outline what we hope to find out in the ongoing investigation,” Dunford told reporters Monday.

“Many of you have asked a number of questions and many of them are fair questions and we owe you more information,” he added. “More importantly, we owe the families of the fallen more information. That’s what the investigation is designed to identify.” (For more from the author of “Top US General: Distress Call From Soldiers in Niger Ambush Not Received Until 1 Hour After Attack” please click HERE)

U.S. Special Forces Killed in African Ambush

Three U.S. Green Berets were killed during an ambush in Niger, a West African nation, on Wednesday.

Two more members of Army special forces were wounded in the ambush, that took place while U.S. troops conducted a joint patrol with Nigerien forces about 120 miles north of the country’s capital, The New York Times reports.

“We can confirm reports that a joint U.S. and Nigerien patrol came under hostile fire in southwest Niger,” said Lt. Cmdr. Anthony Falvo, a spokesman for the United States Africa Command. (Read more from “U.S. Special Forces Killed in African Ambush” HERE)

The 7000+ Men in the US Special Forces UNANIMOUSLY Oppose Women in Their Ranks

The men in the U.S. military’s most dangerous jobs have a message for their political leadership: women have no place on their teams.

In a survey conducted by the Rand Corporation, more than 7,000 members of America’s Special Operations Forces unanimously objected to having women do their jobs. . .

Lack of physical strength and mental toughness were the main reasons given.

“I weigh 225 pounds, and 280 pounds in full kit, as did most of the members of my ODA (a 12-man Army Green Beret unit),” one respondent said. “I expect every person on my team to be able to drag any member of my team out of a firefight. A 130-pound female could not do it, I don’t care how much time she spends in the gym. Do we expect wounded men to bleed out because a female soldier could not drag him to cover?”

Another said, “. . .Most males in the area of the world I work in would rather back hand a female than listen to her speak. There is a reason we send men to do these jobs,” he said. (Read more from “The 7000+ Men in the US Special Forces UNANIMOUSLY Oppose Women in Their Ranks” HERE)

US Special Forces Conduct Successful Raid in Syria, Kill High-Value Target [+video]

Photo Credit: Controversial Times According to a White House press release, United States Special Operations Forces (specifically Delta Force) have killed a senior ISIS official, Abu Sayyaf, during a covert operation inside of Syrian borders.

The team reportedly managed to capture the commander’s wife during the raid while Sayyaf himself was killed. The raid was carried out by United States forces at the authorization of President Obama. The team entered Syria via Blackhawk helicopters and Osprey aircraft. According to statements made by defense officials, US personnel were forced to engage in hand to hand combat after landing at a multi-story building where the raid took place.

According to the White House statement, at least 12 ISIS fighters were killed during the raid. American forces suffered no casualties.

Sayyaf is reportedly in charge of oil and gas operations for the terror group. The sale of oil and gas is one of the reasons ISIS has been able to amass such a large fortune so quickly. With top ISIS leadership in question, it was believed Sayyaf was becoming more and more involved with day to day operations and may have been in line to become one of the top officials in the organization.
