A Case for Exorcism? Transgender Ax Attacker Says He Was Possessed by a Demon Urging Him to ‘Rise Hell on Earth’

An Australian man who identifies as a transgender woman defended himself in court on Thursday, claiming that he was either possessed by a demon or his mind was addled by drugs and therefore it was his body, not him, who attacked people at a 7-Eleven with an ax last year.

Evie Amati, the 26-year-old suspect, does not deny being bodily present at the time, but claims his* mind was somewhere else. Amati allegedly attacked two people with an ax at a 7-Eleven on January 7, 2017. The suspect then reportedly swung the ax twice at a man outside who managed to avoid the blows. Amati has pleaded not guilty to six charges, including two counts of wounding with intent to murder.

In court, Amati’s lawyer Charles Waterstreet asked, “At that stage, had you any idea of the damage that you’d done to persons by your body’s actions?” To this, the defendant responded, “No.”

The court had previously heard that Amati could not remember the incident. On Thursday, the transgender suspect developed the drug and demon possession defense, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. . .

His last memory before waking up in the hospital the day after the attack was sitting on the balcony, hearing a voice “that had been telling me to kill and maim and inflict pain on people and start the rise of hell on earth.”

Country Might Drop Psychiatric Requirements for Transgender Individuals Seeking Hormone Therapy

Ireland is considering letting transgender persons receive hormone therapy without undergoing any kind of psychiatric evaluation by a medical professional as is currently required under Irish law.

Ireland’s Minister for Health Simon Harris will meet with transgender activists in August and September to determine if it might be appropriate to abandon the current regulations around access to hormone therapy to help transgender individuals transition from their biological sex to the sex of their choice, The Times reported.

The consideration comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) ruled on June 19 that gender dysphoria is no longer a mental condition. . .

Four out of 10 transgender Americans have attempted suicide, according to a 2015 poll by the National Center for Transgender Equality. That rate is nearly nine times greater than the suicide rate among all Americans, according to the poll.

Biological males undergoing hormone therapy to become female have a much higher risk for blood clots than biological men and women, a Tuesday study from the Annals of Internal Medicine found. The study also shows that males who transition to become female don’t experience any of the benefits bestowed upon biological females, like a lower risk for heart disease. Trans Bathrooms Are All About Discrimination

. . .I believe in and fight for the civil rights of all people. The current law regarding bathrooms in Massachusetts, which allows transgender people to use opposite-sex private facilities, is not a matter of civil rights. It’s a matter of unspeakable oppression against females. Few will be encouraged to consider this reality as the people of Massachusetts gear up to vote to restore privacy rights and common sense this November.

Mainstream media outlets will continue to frame the issue as one of bigotry, and will shame those with the audacity to say what we all know is true. It’s time to loudly declare that the emperor has no clothes. A person may wear what clothing that person prefers. A person can say that she or he is whatever. Such a person ought to not experience discrimination.

But I ought not to be expected to believe that by some magic and lots of surgeries and chemicals that a man can be a woman and a woman a man. I, and all woman and children, should not have to put up with the shenanigans of those who insist that biology is “a social construct” but gender “is innate in a person” when the exact opposite is true.

Children should not be experimented upon by infusing them with puberty blockers to keep them from growing up. Children should not be operated upon and have body parts removed because they “feel” they are something other than what they are, should not be subjected to a lifetime of ill health because of Big Pharma’s chemicals. . .

Women should not be forbidden to use the correct terms for their bodies and bodily functions because such terms are “transphobic.” Transgender activists’ erasure of women is horrifying. Women . . . should not be told they are haters if they refuse to sleep with males who identify as trans. Women and children should not be forced to deal with males in their spaces, whether it be locker rooms or bathrooms. (Read more from “Trans Bathrooms Are All About Discrimination” HERE)

Judge Denies Transgender Teen’s Name Change Request – Parents Appealing

The parents of an Ohio teenager are appealing a court’s decision to deny their transgender “son” a legal name change. . .

Kylen and Leigh Whitaker requested last month that their 15-year-old’s name be officially changed from Heidi to Elliott. Warren County Probate Judge Joseph Kirby declined the request, saying, “Whether [the teen] is experiencing Gender Dysphoria or is just not comfortable with her body is something that only time will reveal. . .

“Age. Develop. Mature,” Kirby further wrote in his decision, reasoning that, “Adolescence is a time of fevered exploration. The Court is sympathetic to the parents of the child and their desire to assuage their child. In essence, the Court isn’t saying ‘no’ to the name change. The Court is simply saying ‘not yet.’” . . .

The Whitakers insist that both they and Elliott are comfortable with formally changing the teen’s name to the preferred moniker. Elliott has been in therapy at Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s transgender clinic since announcing the transition to his parents a year ago.

Leigh said, “We did a lot of therapy to make sure that this was something that was real.” Kylen added, “The judge met with us for 15 to 20 minutes and then decided that he knew better than the parents and the doctors and our child. We just don’t feel that’s right.” (Read more from “Judge Denies Transgender Teen’s Name Change Request – Parents Appealing” HERE)

Legal Group Appeals Ruling That Backed Opening School’s Restrooms, Locker Rooms to Transgender Students

A conservative legal organization is asking the full 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to review the May ruling of a three-judge panel against school privacy in upholding a Pennsylvania school’s opening of its locker rooms, showers, and restrooms to students of the opposite sex.

“The U.S. Supreme Court has already spoken: The real differences between men and women mean that privacy must be protected where it really counts, and that certainly includes high school locker rooms and restrooms,” Christiana Holcomb, legal counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, said in a statement.

The alliance, a nonprofit, public interest law firm, and allied attorneys are spearheading the appeal of the May ruling.

During the the 2016-17 school year, Boyertown High School in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, opened its restroom facilities and locker rooms to students of the opposite sex without warning.

On May 24, three judges on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia heard oral arguments over the lawsuit, Doe v. Boyertown Area School District, and subsequently ruled 3-0 against student privacy.

The three were Judges Theodore McKee, appointed by President Bill Clinton; Patty Shwartz, named by President Barack Obama; and Richard Lowell Nygaard, appointed by President Ronald Reagan.

Holcomb said Alliance Defending Freedom is asking for a full-court review in hope that a wider panel of judges will rule in support of students’ privacy.

“The panel’s decision is out of step with long-standing legal protection for privacy,” she said. “That’s why we are asking the full 3rd Circuit to weigh in on the valid concerns of these young students.”

After the 3rd Circuit panel’s ruling, Alexis Lightcap, a senior at Boyertown Area Senior High School and a plaintiff in the lawsuit, said the panel’s ruling was a personal affront on her privacy.

“Today’s ruling was very disappointing, and made me feel—again—like my voice was not heard,” Lightcap said. “Every student’s privacy should be protected.”

The American Civil Liberties Union is representing Aidan DeStefano, a transgender student at Boyertown Area Senior High and with the Pennsylvania Youth Congress, a coalition of LGBTQ youth leaders in the case.

“It’s important that trans students are given the opportunity to defend themselves against these shameful attempts to isolate and stigmatize them,” Leslie Cooper, senior staff attorney at the ACLU LGBT & HIV Project, said. “Schools can and should provide extra privacy protections or private restroom or changing areas for any student who requests it. But no student has a right to demand that transgender students be segregated from their peers.”

But Randall Wenger, an attorney allied with Alliance Defending Freedom who is chief counsel at the Independence Law Center, said the case is about protecting all students’ privacy rights.

“No student should be forced into an intimate setting—like a locker room or shower—with someone of the opposite sex,” Wenger said.

“The Boyertown District could have crafted policies that respect the privacy concerns of all students and are also sensitive to the needs of individual students. Instead, the district failed to fulfill its responsibility and harmed students rightfully concerned about their bodily privacy,” he said. “The district must correct its policy—not only for our clients, but for all students within the district.” (For more from the author of “Legal Group Appeals Ruling That Backed Opening School’s Restrooms, Locker Rooms to Transgender Students” please click HERE)

Transgender ‘Woman’ to Compete in Miss Universe – and You Might Be Surprised at Who Made It Possible

Spain’s Angela Ponce will grace the stage at this year’s Miss Universe pageant, as the first transgender [man] to compete for the crown — and the 26-year-old has President Trump to partially [responsible] for the opportunity. . .

Ponce’s participation comes six years after the Miss Universe organization lifted its ban on transgender contestants. Back in 2012, now-US President Donald Trump owned the franchise, and sided with LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD when transgender contestant Jenna Talackova sued in order to participate.

GLAAD spokesperson Herndon Graddick said at the time that “The Miss Universe Organization and Mr. Trump made it clear to GLAAD that they were open to making a policy change to include women who are transgender.

“We appreciate that he and his team responded swiftly and appropriately. The Miss Universe Organization today follows institutions that have taken a stand against discrimination of transgender women including the Olympics, NCAA, the Girl Scouts of America and The CW’s America’s Next Top Model.”

Over the weekend, Ponce won her country’s qualifying contest, beating out 22 other contestants. The beauty queen wrote on Instagram, “Bringing the name and colors of Spain before the universe is my great dream. My goal is to be a spokesperson for a message of inclusion, respect and diversity not only for the LGBTQ+ community, but also for the entire world.” (Read more from “Transgender ‘Woman’ to Compete in Miss Universe – and You Might Be Surprised at Who Made It Possible” HERE)

BOOM: Transgender Man Claims DC Restaurant Demanded ID Before Using Restroom, Then Kicked Him out

A Washington, D.C., restaurant may face legal action after an employee asked a transgender [man] for identification upon entering the women’s restroom over the weekend.

Charlotte Clymer said [he] was attending a bachelorette party at Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar with a “large group of women,” but claimed [he] was the only one who was asked to prove [he] was [‘female’] before using the ladies room late Friday evening.

Clymer tweeted that the Washington, D.C., Office of Human Rights and the city’s licensing authority will be conducting an investigation. [He] also plans to explore legal options against the restaurant, according to the Washington Post. . .

“Near the end our time there, I went to use the restroom with Bethany Quinn and before I reached the door, an attendant stuck out his arm and said he needed to see my ID. When I asked why, he said that ‘female’ must be on an ID to use the women’s restroom. No one else was asked,” Clymer wrote on Facebook. . .

“I tell him he’s wrong and there’s no chance I’m showing him my ID. There are people crammed into this hallway. It’s busy. He insists I need to show my ID, I tell him that’s not happening, and demand to see what law he’s citing,” [he] continued on Facebook. WHO Reclassifies Transgenderism, No Longer Considered a Mental Health Disorder

The World Health Organization will no longer classify people who identify as transgender as having a mental disorder, the group announced Monday.

The announcement comes ahead of the release of the organization’s International Classification of Diseases in its 11th edition.

Previously, “gender incongruence” was placed in the mental health chapter of the WHO’s classification document. Now, it will be in a newly created sexual health chapter.

The United Nations health agency claimed there is “clear” evidence that being transgender “is not a mental disorder, and indeed classifying it in this can cause enormous stigma for people who are transgender.”

“Gender incongruence … has also been moved out of the mental disorders in the ICD, into sexual health conditions,” their report stated.

In a new description of gender incongruence, the WHO says that “gender variant behavior and preferences alone are not a basis” for diagnosing someone’s mental health.

According to Dr. Lale Say, Coordinator, Adolescents and at-Risk Populations Team at the World Health Organization, the goal in moving gender incongruence from the mental health chapter to a newly created sexual health chapter is to remove social stigma.

“It was taken out from mental health disorders because we had better understanding that this wasn’t actually a mental health condition,” she said. “And leaving it there was causing stigma.”

“Removing gender incongruence from mental health chapter is expected to reduce stigma and will help better social acceptance of individuals living with gender incongruence,” the representative added.

The change will be presented at the World Health Assembly in 2019 and will go into effect on January 1, 2022.

According to The National Center for Transgender Equality, a vast number of transgender individuals do suffer from mental illness.

A poll run by the transgender rights organization found that “Four out of 10 transgender Americans have attempted suicide in their lifetime, which is nearly nine times the attempted suicide rate among all Americans.”

“A staggering 39% of respondents experienced serious psychological distress in the month prior to completing the survey, compared with only 5% of the population,” the NCTE found.

Meanwhile, as noted by The Daily Wire, “the World Health Organization decided to classify excessive video game playing as a mental health disorder.”

“I’m not creating a precedent,” said Dr. Vladimir Poznyak, a member of the World Health Organization’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, discussing the decision.

“One (major characteristic of gaming disorder) is that the gaming behavior takes precedence over other activities to the extent that other activities are taken to the periphery,” Poznyak said. This Transgender Father’s Day Story From CNN Did Not Get a Warm Reception Online

A CNN tweet posting an article about a transgender man that gave birth to a child was not warmly received by many on social media. . .

The article explains some of the challenges of the transgender family, like when they had to pause their hormone treatments in order to conceive their child. They also explained that they faced discrimination in public from others who didn’t accept their lifestyle.

Many conservatives on social media mocked the attempt by CNN to normalize the left side of the transgender debate.

“And I want my son to see me as a flying superhero who is faster than a speeding bullet and can leap tall buildings in a single bound,” tweeted Ben Shapiro. “But that’s bulls*** too, so he won’t.”

“All Democrats have to do is not be insane,” said Jesse Kelly of the Federalist. “And they can’t do it.” (Read more from “This Transgender Father’s Day Story From CNN Did Not Get a Warm Reception Online” HERE)

Parents Rally When Teacher Who Was Forced to Resign Over Transgender Policy Decides to Fight Back

By Bizpac Review. An Indiana high school teacher is accusing school administrators of putting a “financial gun” to his head over their transgender policy.

John Kluge was ordered to comply with the school district’s policy on transgender students or give up his job as a faculty member of Brownsburg High School , according to WTHR. . .

The issue has divided the community as was seen in an emotional school board meeting on Monday where it was announced that Kluge’s resignation had been approved, FOX 59 reported. Angry parents voiced their concerns and berated the school board for a policy some said they did not even know existed.

“I’m sorry I know I sound like I’m ticked off because I am I’m fed up with this stuff from you guys. You are our elected officials. You work for us and the administration works for you so that makes you all responsible,” parent Jeff Gracie said. Brownsburg Teacher Claims Religious Convictions Cost Him His Job

By WTHR. . .Rhonda Echard’s daughter just graduated from Brownsburg High School. Although she respects the teacher’s religious beliefs, she said “If you are teaching in a public school situation, then maybe your personal beliefs should not be at the forefront.”

“I see where he is coming from, but I think that is getting in the way of his job and what he signed up to do,” said Samantha McKinney, an 8th grader. She said she has transgender friends.

The controversy caught the attention of the Trevor Project, a national organization working to prevent suicide among LGBTQ young people.

“Youth are at high risk when they don’t feel respected, when they are feeling all these types of stigma and discrimination,” said Sam Brinton, who directs the Trevor Project’s advocacy programs.

Brownsburg schools would not discuss Kluge’s allegations. (Read more from “Brownsburg Teacher Claims Religious Convictions Cost Him His Job” HERE)
