Trump on Ukraine War, Calls With Zelensky, Putin: ‘Two Very Good Conversations,’ ‘I Do Believe a Deal Will Be Worked Out’

President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively on Wednesday afternoon that his phone calls on Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin and on Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were “two very good conversations.”

“The one with President Putin was yesterday—that went very well,” Trump said in an interview in the president’s private dining room just off the Oval Office. “I then spoke with President Zelensky today and explained what took place yesterday, and my aim is to put these two countries together. Then we work a ceasefire and ultimately we stop losing 2,000 people a week. Two thousand people a week or more are being killed in that war, and I want to stop it. I also want to stop massive payments that are necessary to be made by us. I also want Europe to pay the same as us because they weren’t able to do that under Biden and Biden never asked that because Biden was a grossly incompetent president. We had two very good phone calls and I do believe a deal will be worked out so we can stop the bloodshed that’s taking place over there.”

The White House readout of Trump’s call with Putin on Tuesday noted that both leaders expressed an interest in strengthening economic ties between the U.S. and Russia.

“The two leaders agreed that a future with an improved bilateral relationship between the United States and Russia has huge upside,” the White House readout read in part. “This includes enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace has been achieved.” (Read more from “Trump on Ukraine War, Calls With Zelensky, Putin: ‘Two Very Good Conversations,’ ‘I Do Believe a Deal Will Be Worked Out’” HERE)

Russian State Media Stops Calling Americans “Anglo-Saxons” After Kremlin Directive

Russian state media outlets have abruptly ceased using the term “Anglo-Saxons” to refer to Americans following Kremlin orders to moderate their language, The Moscow Times has reported.

The Amsterdam-based publication, citing anonymous sources, stated that state media received new editorial guidelines in mid-February following the inauguration of US President Donald Trump and renewed diplomatic engagements between Russia and the United States over the war in Ukraine.

The term “Anglo-Saxons” has frequently been used by Russian state media, as well as by senior officials such as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, to describe the English-speaking world, primarily the United States and the United Kingdom. The phrase, often employed in a derogatory manner alongside terms such as “the collective West,” became more prevalent following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

However, after recent discussions between Moscow and Washington, the term has largely disappeared from major state television broadcasts and publications. According to The Moscow Times, the directive to state-run outlets was swiftly implemented, with figures such as political strategist Yevgeny Minchenko publicly rejecting the notion that “Anglo-Saxons” were responsible for Russia’s difficulties.

Other prominent commentators, including Dmitry Kiselyov, who previously threatened the US with nuclear strikes, have adjusted their rhetoric. Instead of condemning Washington, Kiselyov recently referred to Russia, China and the United States as the “Big Three” global powers, dismissing the European Union and Nato as politically insignificant. USAID-Linked Ukrainian Group Smears Vance, Massie

A London-based Ukrainian intelligence group linked to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) labelled American politicians as “foreign propagandists,” falsely accusing them of Russian loyalty.

The group, Molfar, created an online blacklist including Vice President JD Vance, Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, U.S. Counterterrorism Director Joe Kent and others. The list claims these officials are “external agents of Russia,” demanding their removal from public positions and investigations into their “personal involvement in crimes.” and calling for sanctions against them.

“Instead of mentioning famous names of internal Russian propagandists, we focused on the personalities of external agents of Russia,” Molfar’s website reads. “Foreign propagandists of the Russian Federation repeat the theses of Kremlin leadership, justify Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, call for the lifting of Western sanctions against the Russian Federation and convince the world that the annexation of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is legitimate.”

The website presents tweets from Vance describing Ukrainian NATO membership as “irresponsible” and Massie’s characterization of Ukrainian aid as wasteful as supposed “evidence” that these politicians serve as Russian “propagandists.” (Read more from ”

Molfar, founded in 2014 following Ukraine’s Western-backed Maidan uprising, describes itself as an open-source intelligence (OSINT) firm dedicated to countering “Russian disinformation” and identifying “enemies of Ukraine.” While it claims to focus on tracking alleged war criminals, its activities have expanded to include doxxing journalists and compiling blacklists of foreign politicians. Molfar lists USAID as a “partner” on its website as of Tuesday. (Read more from “USAID-Linked Ukrainian Group Smears Vance, Massie” HERE)

Russia Rejects Ukraine Ceasefire, Launches Massive Bombing Campaign

Russia said on Thursday that a partial or temporary ceasefire in its war on Ukraine would be “unacceptable,” and only a comprehensive “final settlement” will do.

The Russians punctuated this argument by launching a massive attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with missiles and drones. Russia also appears to be on the verge of ejecting Ukrainian forces from Kursk, the territory counter-invaded by the Ukrainians in August 2024.

The Russians curtly rejected a French-British proposal for a one-month ceasefire “in the air, at sea, and on energy infrastructure,” to be backed up by a “coalition of the willing” that would include at least 20 member nations, according to British officials.

“Firm agreements on a final settlement are necessary. Without all this, any respite or regrouping is absolutely unacceptable, as it will lead to exactly the opposite result,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters on Thursday.

“In reality, we are dealing with an open desire to achieve a respite at any cost for the Kyiv regime in its death throes, for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and to prevent the collapse of the front,” she said of the UK-France temporary ceasefire plan. Trump Envoys Meeting With Ukraine Officials Next Week in Saudi Arabia, Seeking ‘An Initial Cease-Fire’

President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff revealed plans Thursday for a summit meeting next week with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia — saying the parties would discuss a possible cease-fire with Russia.

“We’re now in discussions to coordinate a meeting with the Ukrainians… It will be [in] Saudi Arabia. And I think the idea is to get down a framework for a peace agreement and an initial cease-fire as well,” Witkoff told reporters on the White House driveway.

The meeting will attempt to restore US-Ukrainian dialogue after the Trump administration moved to halt the flow of weapons and intelligence to Kyiv in response to an explosive Oval Office meeting Friday featuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky, who is not expected to attend the Saudi Arabia meeting, said Friday that he opposes a temporary cease-fire, citing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s prior deal-breaking.

“We can’t just speak about cease-fire and speak and speak. It will not work,” Zelensky said at that meeting, fueling Trump’s rage.

Trump told him: “Look, if you could get a cease-fire right now, I tell you you’d take it, so the bullets stop flying and your men stop getting killed.” (Read more from “Trump Envoys Meeting With Ukraine Officials Next Week in Saudi Arabia, Seeking ‘An Initial Cease-Fire’” HERE)

Zelensky Calls Oval Office Meeting ‘Regrettable,’ Says He Is Ready to Negotiate, Thanks Trump

By Breitbart. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday he was ready to come to the negotiating table to begin peace talks and expressed regret over last week’s meeting at the White House where he sparred with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance and blew a minerals deal with the U.S.

Zelensky wrote on X:

I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace.

None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.

The tone was very different than the last 10 minutes of the meeting in the Oval Office with Trump, Vance, and other members of the cabinet who have worked to get Russia and Ukraine into peace talks, beginning with a U.S.-Ukraine mineral deal.

The meeting began amicably and went on for about 40 minutes without issue, until a Polish reporter asked Trump about being “close” to Putin. Trump initially responded, and Vance jumped in with a response, and then Zelensky challenged Vance. Ukraine Selling T-Shirts With Zelensky Quote From Trump-Vance Meeting

By The Hill. The Ukrainian government has launched a T-shirt fundraising effort seeking to capitalize on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s now-infamous Oval Office meeting Friday with President Trump and Vice President Vance.

The meeting, which unraveled to such an extent that a joint press conference between the two sides scheduled for afterward was canceled, included multiple moments that went viral, such as when Zelensky was criticized for not wearing a suit. He has dressed in more military-themed garb since Russia invaded his country three years ago.

United24, a Ukrainian state-sponsored platform that raises funds amid the ongoing war, is raffling off 100 T-shirts with Zelensky’s response: “I’ll wear a costume when the war is over.”

In Ukrainian, the word “costume” is used as a translated term for suit.

The raffle is open to those who donate $24 or more toward Kyiv’s defense efforts. (Read more from “Ukraine Selling T-Shirts With Zelensky Quote From Trump-Vance Meeting” HERE)

UK, France to Craft Ukraine Peace Plan to Present to USA

UK Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer said ahead of a Lancaster House summit on Sunday that Britain and France will work to craft a Ukraine ceasefire deal that would be presented to the United States.

Echoing the language of former U.S. President George W. Bush, the Labour Party leader said that London and Paris will seek to build a “coalition of the willing” to enforce a peace in Ukraine.

The UK and France have already committed to sending troops into the former Eastern bloc nation to act as peacekeepers, but other European nations, notably Italy, Germany, and Poland, have so far shot down the idea.

“We’ve got to find those countries in Europe that are prepared to be a bit more forward-leaning,” Prime Minister Starmer said per The Telegraph.

“I’m not criticising anyone here, but rather than move at the pace of every single member, every single country in Europe, which would in the end be quite a slow pace, I do think we’ve got to probably get to a coalition of the willing now.” (Read more from “UK, France to Craft Ukraine Peace Plan to Present to USA” HERE)

Ukrainian MP Calls for Crucial Impeachment Proceedings Against Zelensky

A member of the Ukrainian Parliament has called for impeachment proceedings against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asserting that such actions are crucial for the future of the nation’s leadership. The call comes amid growing criticism of Zelenskyy’s public humiliation of Ukraine following his disastrous meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House last week. With his increasingly authoritarian approach to governance and downright refusal to accept a peace and rare Earth minerals deal with the U.S., Zelenskyy’s foreign policy missteps have led to Ukraine’s isolation on the global stage.

Alexander Dubinsky, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, is calling for an emergency session to initiate impeachment proceedings against Zelenskyy. He accused the Ukrainian president of diplomatic failures, the country’s loss of unconditional U.S. support, and the regime’s complete collapse.

“Zelensky has not only failed in foreign policy – he has driven the country into a state where anyone who disagrees with his course faces repression,” he said in a statement.

Dubinsky criticized Zelenskyy’s stubbornness for the country’s reaching a dead end, noting that Ukraine has no more cards to play.

“Zelenskyy has lost,” Dubinsky said, echoing Trump’s previous remarks. “If he cannot offer a real way out of the crisis, then it is up to us to make fateful decisions.” (Read more from “Ukrainian MP Calls for Crucial Impeachment Proceedings Against Zelensky” HERE)

Trump: ‘America Will Not Put Up With’ Zelensky’s Anti-Peace Rhetoric ‘Much Longer’

President Donald Trump said the United States “will not put up with” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s anti-peace rhetoric “much longer.”

Trump took to Truth Social after the Associated Press reported Monday that Zelensky said peace between Russia and Ukraine “is still very, very far away.”

“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!” Trump wrote, sharing an image of the AP headline.

“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing,” Trump added before zoning in on the meeting between Zelensky and European leaders over the weekend. Mike Johnson Weighs In on Trump-Zelensky Clash

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on Sunday that while the U.S. is committed to supporting Ukraine, he believes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s focus is misaligned. In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, Johnson emphasized that although the U.S. will continue assisting Ukraine in its fight against Russia, its leadership needs to prioritize domestic reforms and stability. He also argued that someone other than Zelenskyy must step forward to lead the foreign country toward peace and long-term success, suggesting a shift in strategy for Ukraine.

Following Friday’s disastrous meeting in the Oval Office with Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Zelenskyy, during which the Ukrainian leader seemed more inclined to extract every penny from the U.S. than seek peace for his country, Johnson urged Zelenskyy to come to his senses. The House Speaker echoed similar remarks from Republicans who have called on Zelenskyy to be more grateful to the United States after it has shelled out billions of dollars in aid and military weapons in its ongoing conflict with Russia.

“Either he needs to come to his senses and come back to the table in gratitude, or someone else needs to lead the country to do that,” Johnson said. “President Trump has brought back strength to the White House. We need these parties to go along with this, and we need President Zelenskyy to do what is necessary. This war has drug on far too long. He’s lost hundreds of thousands of people, including women and children. We’ve got to bring an end to it. And I think our European allies are hoping that that is the case, and we are as well.”

Johnson stressed that the U.S. was not abandoning Ukraine but that Zelenskyy must want peace for his nation. He called it a “grave disappointment” that the foreign leader refused to cooperate with Trump during a meeting at the White House, pointing out that it’s apparent Zelenskyy is not ready to talk about any sort of peace agreement.
