With a New, ‘Strategically Located’ Unit in Alaska, the US Army Wants to Extend Its Reach in the Arctic and Beyond

The US Army activated the 11th Airborne Division in Alaska on Monday, reestablishing it as an Arctic-focused unit in what the Pentagon sees as a valuable outpost to project power in region, into Europe, and across the Pacific.

“We expect them to be masters of their craft in the Arctic warfighting, in extreme cold weather, in mountainous and high-altitude terrain, and we expect them to develop innovative ways of operating in this environment,” Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville said at a press conference on Monday.

The two major Army units in Alaska — the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Wainwright and the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) based at Fort Richardson — were previously under the Hawaii-based 25th Infantry Division. . .

The Army Arctic Strategy released last spring emphasized the need for Arctic-specific training and equipment and infrastructure that could support operations over the region’s long distances and tough terrain.

The Army conducted a “gap analysis” to determine what was needed and sought to address “near-term deficiencies” in its 2023 budget request. In that request, Army asked for $101.8 million to support the strategy by buying 13 new cold-weather, all-terrain vehicles, acquiring more Arctic clothing and gear, and continuing to winterize equipment, an Army budget official said this spring. Cotton: US Army’s Affirmative Action for Women ‘Is Going to Get People Killed’

It was gratifying to watch Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton questioning Christine Wormuth, the first female Secretary of the Army, at a recent Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.

Sen. Cotton, a Ranger-qualified infantry veteran, respectfully chastised Wormuth for the “fiasco” that the new Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) has become. For the past three years, the Army has tried but failed to implement “gender-neutral” standards in the new Combat Fitness Test — mainly because of high failure rates among female trainees. . .

Nevertheless, after several versions of the ACFT failed, this year the Army dropped sex neutrality and reinstated sex-norming. Secretary Wormuth acknowledged the Army’s stunning reversal, suggesting that the new ACFT was “more challenging.” Cotton responded bluntly: “The new standards are pathetic — They are absolutely pathetic.”

Cotton noted that soldiers qualifying for the infantry will have to do only 10 push-ups instead of 35. He also quoted the Army’s Frequently Asked Questions webpage stating that commanders may not set higher standards for acceptance or retention in a combat unit. “This,” said Cotton, “is going to get people killed.” . . .

The ACFT project, initiated by then-Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and Defense Secretary Mark Esper, always was controversial. The previous physical fitness test involved sex-normed sit-ups, push-ups, and a two-mile run that could be done anywhere. The new six-event Combat Fitness Test required expensive equipment, sex- and age-neutral standards, and considerable time to prepare for and administer the test. As Russia Wages War, US Army Trains Officers on Gender Identity

While Russia wages a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. Army is putting its soldiers through training on gender pronouns and coaching officers on when to offer soldiers gender transition surgery, according to an official military presentation on the subject obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The mandatory presentation, “Policy on the Military Service of Transgender Persons and Persons with Gender Dysphoria,” was given to officers earlier this month along with instructions for them to train their subordinates on the material. Portions of the presentation were provided to the Free Beacon by a whistleblower who was ordered to undergo the training as a high-ranking officer in the Army Special Forces.

An Army spokesman confirmed to the Free Beacon that the slides in question are part of “mandatory training” and come from an official program “used to train Army personnel on the recent changes to the DoD and Army transgender service policy.” All Army personnel, from soldiers to commanders and supervisors, are required to participate in the training by Sept. 30, 2022, according to the spokesman.

The transgender presentation follows on a June 2021 announcement by the Army altering its policies so that transgender soldiers can openly serve. The shift in policy is part of a larger push by the Biden administration to make the military more welcoming to transgender people. These efforts have prompted pushback from Republicans in Congress and some within the military who view the policy changes as an effort to promote “woke” propaganda within the service. As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens to spark a larger conflict, military experts and insiders say they are concerned America’s fighting force is prioritizing woke culture over protecting the American people. Army Begins Discharging Unvaccinated Soldiers

The U.S. Army announced Wednesday it will start discharging soldiers who remain unvaccinated.

Those who do not have an approved exemption or who refuse to be vaccinated will be separated from the service immediately, the Army said, noting that these soldiers “will not be eligible for involuntary separation pay.”

According to figures released at the end of January, 96 percent of active soldiers have been fully vaccinated. Of the 709 medical exemption requests received, six were approved and 656 were rejected. Among the 2,910 religious exemptions submitted, none were approved and 266 were rejected. The Army has issued 5,870 temporary exemptions. More than 3,300 soldiers refused the vaccine.

By Yahoo News. The Biden administration has come out against an amendment to the defense budget that would prevent the Pentagon from dishonorably discharging service members who refuse to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Office of Management and Budget said in a statement Tuesday that the administration “strongly opposes” the amendment, arguing that if it’s implemented, it would “detract from readiness and limit a commander’s options for enforcing good order and discipline when a Service member fails to obey a lawful order to receive a vaccination.”

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin issued a memo making the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine mandatory shortly after it got full approval from the Food and Drug Administration late last month. As of last Wednesday, 88% of the active armed forces had received at least one dose of the vaccine, and an additional 5% have been fully vaccinated since the mandate was issued, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said during the daily briefing.

Tennessee Republican Rep. Mark Green, a veteran, has led the push to prevent the military from discharging service members who refuse the vaccine with any distinction other than honorable via the National Defense Authorization Act.

“I am disgusted that the Biden administration is trying to gut my amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that prevents anything but an honorable discharge for servicemembers who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine,” Green told the Washington Examiner in a statement. Disturbing: U.S. Army Uses Seven Tenets of Satanism To Convince Troops To Get COVID Vaccine

By Guardian Gazette. A bombshell report by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has revealed the US Army promoted the seven tenets of Satanism in a PowerPoint to promote COVID-19 vaccines.

The PowerPoint was being presented to answer questions some of the troops had about the vaccine. One question on the PowerPoint asked how many children were sacrificed to the devil for the vaccine?

Right next to the question, the Army listed the seven tenets of Satanism in order to make the Satanic Temple look not as evil as it really is.

That wasn’t it, though; the Army also falsely stated only three people have died from being vaccinated. This is far from the truth, considering the Biden administration themselves reported that thousands died after being vaccinated. House Foreign Affairs GOP Predicts U.S. Will Go Back Into Afghanistan

Republican members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee warned that American troops may yet have to return to Afghanistan amid fears that the Taliban will again allow the country to become a haven for international terrorist groups.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken was hauled in front of Congress this week as lawmakers demanded to know how America’s longest war ended in such humiliation. But even amid the inquest, lawmakers’ minds are turning to reintervention.

For many, the war—one so complicated by vague and ever-expanding goals, Pentagon and White House deceit, and a zealous belief in America’s ability to nation-build—is not over.

“I think it’s quite likely that we’re going to end up somehow militarily involved again,” Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH), who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee that quizzed Blinken this week, told Newsweek. Army Officer Resigns Over Biden Vaccine Mandate, ‘Marxist Takeover of the Military’

An Army lieutenant colonel’s resignation letter is gaining attention on social media after he used it to protest the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and what he described as the “Marxist takeover of the military.”

The resignation letter by Lt. Col. Paul Douglas Hague, tweeted out by his wife and shared with Fox News, said he was resigning from the Army after 19 years of service and forgoing his pension primarily because of the Pentagon’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination order for all U.S. military service members.

“First, and foremost, I am incapable of subjecting myself to the unlawful, unethical, immoral and tyrannical order to sit still and allow a serum to be injected into my flesh against my will and better judgment,” Hague, who is stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, wrote in the letter. “It is impossible for this so-called ‘vaccine’ to have been studied adequately to determine the long-term effects.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said the vaccines are safe and effective.

Hague listed multiple other reasons for his resignation, including what he views as “an ideologically Marxist takeover of the United States government at their upper echelons,” and “a complete lack of confidence” in the Biden administration, which he blamed for the Kabul terrorist attack last month that killed 13 U.S. service members. On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Michael McCaul (R-TX) stated that there are around 10,000 interpreters who worked with U.S. forces still in Afghanistan, and they “are gone. The Taliban will not allow them to leave.” And are “already being executed.”

McCaul said, “The interpreters who worked with our special forces, they are gone. The Taliban will not allow them to leave.”

Host Wolf Blitzer then cut in to ask McCaul if he was referring to SIV holders.

McCaul responded, “Special Immigrant Visas, these are the guys that worked right with our special forces. The Taliban views them as the worst of the worst. Afghan War Vet Goes Off on Blinken in Heated Exchange for Deceiving Nation

By Fox News. A GOP congressman erupted at Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his hearing in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, saying Congress does not “need to hear lies.”

Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., who lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan, got into a heated exchange with Blinken as the congressman’s allotted time to question the secretary of state drew to a close.

Mast slammed the administration’s handling of the withdrawal, pointing to Biden’s controversial leaked call with the former Afghan president, leading the Florida Republican to proclaim that he does not “believe a word” the secretary was saying.

“I don’t want to hear from the secretary,” Mast said. “He lies to us when he appears before us.”

Biden Offers Welfare, Quick U.S. Citizenship To Unvetted Afghans

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden’s congressional budget request would offer tens of thousands of Afghans arriving in the United States a host of welfare and quick naturalized American citizenship, a new analysis states.

The analysis, conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and shared with Breitbart News, details Biden’s request to Congress for $6.4 billion in American taxpayer money to resettle 95,000 Afghans across the U.S. over the next year.

Specifically, Biden’s plan would provide an “expedited path to citizenship” to tens of thousands of Afghans who arrived via “humanitarian parole” by giving them green cards after just a year of residing in the U.S.

Then, after only a few years of holding a green card, those Afghans would be eligible to apply for naturalized U.S. citizenship. The FAIR analysis suggests that the Biden administration will fast-track the citizenship process by backdating green cards for Afghans to the date when they initially secured parole.

Before ever getting a green card, though, the Biden plan ensures that Afghans become immediately eligible for welfare programs that parolees are typically not provided. Afghans who complete “vague” vetting procedures, according to the FAIR analysis, would be first in line for the public benefits. U.S. General Tells British Special Forces: Stop Rescuing People in Kabul, You’re Making Us Look Bad

I understand that the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division has told the commander of the British special forces at the Kabul airport to cease operations beyond the airport perimeter.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue has told his British Army counterpart, a high-ranking field-grade officer of the British army’s 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, that British operations were embarrassing the United States military in the absence of similar U.S. military operations, according to multiple military sources. I understand that the British officer firmly rejected the request.

Col. Joe Buccino, a spokesman for the XVIII Airborne Corps, denied that Donahue made such a request.

“The XVIII Airborne Corps denies the central thrust of this story,” the spokesman said. “Specifically, Gen. Army’s Top Enlisted Leader to Soldiers: Just Take the Army Combat Fitness Test (VIDEO)

The Army’s top enlisted leader has a message for soldiers who have not yet taken the new Army Combat Fitness Test: Just take it.

This week, Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston led about three dozen command sergeant majors from across the Army through the test, which is still provisional but becomes official in March 2022.

“The oldest out there was 57 … and he was out there, and full disclosure, he’s the Sergeant Major for the Army National Guard,” Grinston told Breitbart News on a recent call with a group of defense reporters.

“He beat me on the deadlift and he beat me on the spring-drag-carry. So as an Army National Guard soldier, I couldn’t be more proud and he’s a few years older than me so I felt a little bad about that, I’m not going to lie,” he joked.
