Hero Who Raised $150k for Shooting Victims’ Families Just Got Life-Changing Reward

By Conservative Review. It’s often been said that “no good deed goes unpunished,” but that certainly isn’t the case for a hero who stepped up during a recent emergency and is now receiving a sizable reward.

James Shaw Jr. made headlines for jumping into action during the Waffle House shooting early Sunday morning in Tennessee. After a deranged man opened fire in the crowded restaurant, Shaw fought the criminal bare-handed and saved lives in the process . . .

In the aftermath of the incident, Shaw appeared humble and quiet during media interviews, simply explaining that he was just a regular person who did what needed to be done. He even started a crowd-funding project for families of the victims in the shooting, which has raised nearly $150,000 as of early Wednesday evening . . .

According to The Hill, New York City-based reporter Yashar Ali started a separate GoFundMe project to benefit Shaw himself.

“Since that horrific shooting, (James Shaw) has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the victims and shown a level of humility that has inspired many of us,” Ali wrote. (Read more from “Hero Who Raised $150k for Shooting Victims’ Families Just Got Life-Changing Reward” HERE)

By The Hill. A fundraiser for the man being hailed as a hero in the Nashville Waffle House shooting has raised more than $100,000 in less than 24 hours.

Reporter Yashar Ali started the GoFundMe for James Shaw Jr., who wrestled the gun away from the shooter during Sunday’s incident.

As of 9 p.m., just 21 hours after Ali started the fundraiser, it had raised $105,072.

“I normally don’t get involved directly in these matters, but James’ grace has inspired me to start this page to give him the support I feel he deserves,” Ali wrote on the page. (Read more from “Fundraiser for Waffle House Hero Raises $100K in Less Than a Day” HERE)

29-Year-Old ‘Hero’ in Tennessee Waffle House Shooting Speaks

By The Daily Caller. A 29-year-old man saved numerous lives after he took down the shooter who opened fire at a Waffle House in Nashville, Tennessee, Sunday morning, according to police.

James Shaw Jr. saw a chance to take down the shooter and did not hesitate, he said. The gunman entered naked except for a green jacket, which he later took off and opened fire, killing four people and injuring at least three others before Shaw Jr. was able to get the gun away from the shooter, WBIR 10 News reported.

“I was just trying to get myself out. I saw the opportunity and pretty much took it,” Shaw Jr. said in an interview with WBIR 10 News. “I don’t know if it has hit me yet as far as witnessing other people dying,” he continued. “It’s kind of, it shouldn’t have happened. When I was in the ambulance to hospital, I kept thinking that I’m going to wake up and it’s not going to be real. It is something out a movie. I’m OK though, but I hate that it happened.” (Read more from “29-Year-Old ‘Hero’ in Tennessee Waffle House Shooting Speaks” HERE)
