Biden Swipes at Trump Without Naming Him in Social Security Speech

Former President Joe Biden slammed his successor without naming him in a speech on Social Security that marked his first major address since leaving the White House.

“They’ve taken a hatchet to the Social Security Administration, pushing an additional 7,000 employees, 7,000, out the door,” Biden said at a Chicago conference for disability advocates on Tuesday evening. “Now they’re getting ready to push thousands more out the door.”

Biden regularly refused to say President Donald Trump’s name during his speeches as president, calling him “my predecessor” or “the former guy.” He continued that trend Tuesday while amplifying claims from the Democratic Party that the Trump administration wants to cut Social Security.

After taking the stage accompanied by the Bruce Springsteen song “We Take Care of Our Own,” Biden made a speech that was similar in tone and approach to those he gave during his single term in the White House, which ended less than three months ago. Trump White House Plans Bold Return to Faith for Holy Week After Biden’s Trans Day of Remembrance

In a striking contrast to the often secular tone of past administrations, the White House under President Donald Trump is planning an “extraordinary” Holy Week, emphasizing Easter’s spiritual and cultural significance. As the nation prepares to mark the holiest days on the Christian calendar, Trump ensures the observance receives the reverence it deserves—offering a clear nod to the values of faith, tradition, and religious liberty that remain central to millions of Americans.

“President Trump promised millions of Christians across the country that he would create a White House Faith Office, and he delivered on that promise,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said. “The White House Faith Office has put together an extraordinary weeklong celebration for Holy Week ahead of Easter Sunday.”

According to the new White House Faith Office, President Trump will attend several events to celebrate and honor the holiest day of the year leading up to Easter. The president is scheduled to mark Holy Week through various events, including a special video message, hosting a pre-Easter dinner, and an Easter service for White House staff.

“The newly created White House Faith Office is grateful to share that President Trump will honor and celebrate Holy Week and Easter with the observance it deserves,” faith director of the White House Faith Office Jennifer Korn said, adding that it “will be a special time of prayer and worship at the White House to be shared with Americans celebrating the week leading up to Resurrection Sunday.” (Read more from “Trump White House Plans Bold Return to Faith for Holy Week After Biden’s Trans Day of Remembrance” HERE)

Stephen Miller Blames DOJ ‘Saboteur’ For Claiming Salvadoran Migrant Mistakenly Deported

Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff for policy, on Monday morning dismissed claims that an illegal immigrant who lived in Maryland was deported to El Salvador by mistake.

Miller appeared on Fox News and said that reporting and accusations against the Trump administration around the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia have been seriously flawed. Despite reports that Abrego Garcia should not have been deported to his home nation of El Salvador, Abrego Garcia was, in fact, correctly sent there, Miller said.

“He was not mistakenly sent to El Salvador. He is an illegal alien from El Salvador,” Miller told Fox News host Bill Hemmer. “In 2019, he was ordered deported. He [has] a final removal order from the United States. These are things that no one disputes. Where is he from? El Salvador. Where is he a resident and citizen of? El Salvador. Is he here illegally? Yes. Does he have a deportation order? Yes.”

Miller blamed a “saboteur” working inside the Department of Justice (DOJ) for making the original claim that Abrego Garcia had been mistakenly deported. He said the lawyer has since been terminated.

“A DOJ lawyer – who has since been relieved of duty, a saboteur, a Democrat – put into a filing incorrectly that this was a mistaken removal. It was not. This was the right person sent to the right place,” said Miller. (Read more from “Stephen Miller Blames DOJ ‘Saboteur’ For Claiming Salvadoran Migrant Mistakenly Deported” HERE)

White House Will Decide Which Reporters Get Briefing Room Seats: Report

In a major break from established tradition, the White House will now decide which reporters get the coveted seats in the briefing room, not the White House Correspondents’ Association, Axios reported Sunday.

A senior White House official told Axios that the communications staff have formalized a plan for “fundamental restructuring of the briefing room, based on metrics more reflective of how media is consumed today.” The White House’s new layout will include reporters from digital outlets, print outlets, TV, and more. The digital group includes “new media” outlets, according to Axios, like The Daily Wire, Axios itself, Semafor, and influencers.

“The goal isn’t merely favorable coverage,” the White House official told Axios. “It’s truly an honest look at consumption [of the outlets’ coverage]. Influencers are important but it’s tough because they aren’t [equipped to provide] consistent coverage. So the ability to cover the White House is part of the metrics.”

The legacy outlets who have enjoyed, until now, prominent visibility and easy access to the White House press secretary, should expect less prominence, Axios reported.

“We want to balance disruption with responsibility,” the official told the publication. (Read more from “White House Will Decide Which Reporters Get Briefing Room Seats: Report” HERE)

White House Blasts the Atlantic After Release of More ‘Attack Plans’ Messages: ‘Oversold’

The White House on Wednesday accused The Atlantic of sensationalizing the content of additional “attack plans” messages that the outlet released after administration officials denied sharing classified information in a Signal group chat that its reporter was inadvertently added to.

The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was mistakenly added to a Signal group chat of top Trump military and intelligence officials to monitor airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. The Atlantic’s first article on the chat, published Monday, left out messages that Goldberg said contained sensitive “attack plans” that could damage U.S. national security if released.

The outlet published those redacted messages on Wednesday after Trump officials denied on Tuesday that any classified information was shared in the group chat. “There was no classified information as I understand it,” President Donald Trump said on Tuesday.

The messages released by Goldberg were sent by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at 11:44 a.m. ET on the morning of March 15, the day of the strike on the Houthis. The messages, sent to the group roughly two hours before the strike was delivered, said:

U.S. Secret Service Shoots Armed Man Near White House After Confrontation

An adult male brandishing a firearm was shot by U.S. Secret Service officers near the White House in Washington, DC, shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The agency said the encounter happened near the intersection of 17th and F Streets NW.

NPR reports local police had earlier reported a “suicidal individual” possibly traveling to D.C. from Indiana, the agency added.

Secret Service personnel located the individual’s vehicle and spotted a person on foot who matched the description.

“As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm, and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel,” the Secret Service detailed in a statement shared on X by spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

The full statement by the Secret Service is below:

“On Sunday March 9th, an adult male was shot by U.S. Secret Service personnel following an armed confrontation with law enforcement in Washington DC.

Karoline Leavitt Unleashes On ‘Disgraceful’ Dems, Corporate Media Over Their Antics Responding To Trump’s Address

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt condemned the Democrats and corporate media’s antics Wednesday as they lamented every aspect of President Donald Trump’s address to Congress.

Many Democratic lawmakers did not stand or applaud the special guests who appeared at the address, including a 13-year-old boy battling brain cancer and a high school athlete who suffered brain damage after competing against a transgender-identifying male. Leavitt condemned Democrats and the corporate media over their criticisms of the address and for their lack of sympathy toward the special guests.

“The behavior of Democrats last night was completely disgraceful and demonstrated how severely how out of touch they are with the American public,” Leavitt said. “It was the most shameful moment in the history of presidential addresses in that beautiful chamber. And what was supposed to be a unifying moment for our country, Democrat members of Congress instead screamed at the president of the United States, who was just overwhelmingly reelected by their constituents, walked out of the chamber and worst of all, they disrespected the American people. Democrats didn’t stand to keep men out of women’s sports, they couldn’t even clap for a girl who got her head smashed in by a man on a volleyball court. Democrats didn’t stand for an innocent and beautiful child who is surviving brain cancer.”

“They opposed eliminating taxes on tips and social security. They didn’t stand for cutting taxes of hardworking Americans, they couldn’t even clap for two mothers whose daughters were killed by illegal aliens,” the press secretary continued. “One of the only things that could get Democrats off their feet last night was cheering for Ukraine, not for America.” (Read more from “Karoline Leavitt Unleashes On ‘Disgraceful’ Dems, Corporate Media Over Their Antics Responding To Trump’s Address” HERE)

Associated Press Loses Its First Court Battle With the Trump White House

The Associated Press’ war with the Trump White House suffered its first loss when a judge declined to restore its Oval Office and Air Force One access. This legal scuffle is in no way over, but for now, the AP and their fake news reporters are barred from certain events at the White House. Still, the judge’s opinion also carried a warning that the White House was skating on thin ice (via NYT):

A federal judge cleared the way on Monday for the White House to continue barring The Associated Press from covering news events with President Trump, extending a legal fight over freedom of speech and press access, which Mr. Trump has long sought to challenge.

The Associated Press sued several top Trump administration officials last week, accusing them of violating the First and Fifth Amendments by barring its reporters from press events. The White House began turning away the wire service’s reporters this month, raising objections to its editorial decision to continue to refer to the Gulf of Mexico in its coverage, rather than calling the body of water the Gulf of America.

Judge Trevor N. McFadden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, who was appointed by Mr. Trump, said The Associated Press’s circumstances were “not the type of dire situation” that would require emergency intervention against the White House, in part because the organization could still report the news through shared reports sent out to all media organizations in the White House Correspondents’ Association.

Social Media Cheers as White House Deputy Chief of Staff ‘Torches’ Press Corps: ‘I Love This’

Stephen Miller gave the White House press corps a “civics lesson” on presidential powers at Thursday’s press briefing, to the delight of conservatives.

The White House deputy chief of staff for policy responded to a question comparing media concerns about Elon Musk serving as an “unelected bureaucrat” while ignoring former President Joe Biden’s declining mental state.

“You’re tempting me to say very harsh things about some of our media friends,” he began. “It is true that many of the people in this room for four years failed to cover the fact that Joe Biden was mentally incompetent and was not running the country.”

“It is also true that many people in this room who have used this talking point that Elon is not elected fail to understand how government works. So I’m glad for the opportunity for a brief civics lesson,” he continued.

“A president is elected by the whole American people. He’s the only official in the entire government that is elected by the entire nation, right? Judges are appointed. Members of Congress are elected at the district or state level. The Constitution, Article II has a clause known as the Vesting Clause. And it says the executive power shall be vested in a president, singular. The whole will of democracy is imbued into the elected president. That president then appoints staff to then impose that democratic will onto the government.”

King of Jordan Tells Trump He Will Take In 2,000 Sick Gaza Children

King Abdullah II of Jordan told President Trump at the White House on Tuesday that his country would give refuge to 2,000 children from Gaza who are sick with cancer or other illnesses.

During a meeting with Trump on Tuesday, the king said to “keep in mind that there is a plan from Egypt” and other Arab countries, and that they had to look out for the best interests of the people of the United States, Jordan, and the Middle East.

“One of the things that we can do right away is take 2,000 children that are either cancer children or in very ill-state to Jordan as quickly as possible,” the Jordanian king said. “And, then wait for the Egyptians to present their plan on how we can work with president.”

In response to the king’s announcement, Trump described it as a “beautiful gesture.”

The king’s offer to take in 2,000 sick children from the Gaza Strip comes as the Egyptian and Jordanian governments have previously rejected taking in displaced refugees from Gaza. (Read more from “King of Jordan Tells Trump He Will Take In 2,000 Sick Gaza Children” HERE)
