A massive crocodile feasted on some sharks in a viral video making the rounds on the internet.

In a YouTube video posted by Punnam Chander Veerati, a gigantic crocodile ate some sharks that appeared to wash up on the beach.

The video’s YouTube description reads as follows:

In Australia, Alligators are common in northern part. In this video, a salt water crocodile came as close to 3 meter from the person who shot the video to eat baby sharks. The person was fishing on the shore. It’s very dangerous in this area and always have to watchful around for these monsters. LIFE AND DEATH ISSUE.

WATCH: Salon Goers in Long Island Got Quite the Scare After a Deer Crashed Through the Front Window

So imagine you are just sitting there getting your hair done when all of the sudden a giant deer comes crashing through the front window of a salon.

That is exactly what happened Saturday in Long Island, New York, when surveillance video at the store caught the moment a huge deer run straight into and then crashed through the front glass window, per People magazine in a piece published Monday.

In the clip shared on YouTube, we see the aftermath of what occurs in the salon after the deer comes flying through the window. The animal first hits the ground after scaling a couch where a woman was seated. It then slides to a stop near hairdresser and owner, Jenisse Heredia, and her costumer.

The deer then scrambles to get its feet under it and starts running through the beauty store knocking over everything in its path while the people inside can be overheard screaming. (Read more from “Salon Goers in Long Island Got Quite the Scare After a Deer Crashed Through the Front Window” HERE)

Rare Mutation Makes Wild Copperhead Twice as Deadly

By Conservative Tribune. Copperhead snakes are already dangerous, but there’s a mutation that arguably makes one found recently twice as deadly.

In a statement released last week, the Wildlife Center of Virginia announced the discovery of a copperhead with two fully-developed heads. If you’re not a big fan of snakes, you might want to skip this article.

The snake was found in the northern part of the state, and was then quickly secured by a state herpetologist.

The center studied the serpent, finding that “it appears as though the left head is more dominant — it’s generally more active and responsive to stimulus.” Both heads appear to be able to eat and breathe, although the “dominance” of the left head could complicate things.

Although there’s only one set of lungs and a single heart in the body, both heads have their own trachea and esophagus. Radiographs of the snake show the eerie mutation in detail. (Read more from “Rare Mutation Makes Wild Copperhead Twice as Deadly” HERE)

North Carolina Man Chops Copperhead Snake Into ‘a Dozen Pieces’ After It Bites Family Dog

By Fox News. Brian Lewis felt a sense of panic when his dog’s loud barks in the backyard “suddenly stopped” last week. He rushed outside to discover his pup, Winnie, had been injured. . .

Lewis rushed Winnie to a nearby animal hospital, which confirmed his suspicion and treated the canine for a copperhead bite. . .

After returning from the vet, a furious Lewis found the copperhead likely responsible for the attack in his backyard and smashed it with a shovel.

“[The snake] was in about a dozen pieces before I regained my composure,” Lewis admitted to WNCN-News.

Winnie has been treated with antibiotics and pain medication. She hobbled around for days after the incident, but Lewis said she’s now on the mend. (Read more from “North Carolina Man Chops Copperhead Snake Into ‘a Dozen Pieces’ After It Bites Family Dog” HERE)

Number of Human-Bear Conflicts Growing Across Alaska

Wildlife experts are calling this summer one of the busiest years of bear encounters they have seen.

The Anchorage Daily News reports biologists believe that poor berry crops and struggling salmon are motivating the hungry bears to wander away from the woods and go into towns.

Recent incidents include a black bear taking over the Juneau arboretum and another bruin that shut down a fish-cleaning facility. (Read more from “Number of Human-Bear Conflicts Growing Across Alaska” HERE)

Deer Hunters Face Unwanted Competition as Feral Hog Explosion Thins Herds

Deer hunters are facing competition from a source that is mean, relentless and out of control.

The explosion of feral hogs across the U.S. is threatening the deer population — spreading disease, dominating the food chain and even, on occasion, killing and eating fawns. In Louisiana, where there are an estimated 700,000 wild hogs, hunters and wildlife officials say they are taking a toll on the whitetail deer herd.

“They are in the marshes and beaches of Louisiana all the way up into the hills and piney woods and swamps,” Jim LaCour, state wildlife veterinarian for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, told FoxNews.com. “They’re in every habitat in the state” . . .

LaCour described the feral pigs, which can weigh up to 500 pounds, as “opportunistic” eaters — omnivores that feast on anything crossing their path, including deer fawn, other piglets and dead animals . . .

Some speculate the population boom is due to relatively recent cross-breeding in the wild. Others, like LaCour, say the popularity of hog hunting in the 1980’s and early ’90’s led humans to move the feral pigs from confined, geographically isolated areas into places they had never been before. Murkowski’s Folly: No Road For King Cove

Alaska has long received more than its fair share of federal tax dollars, as evidenced by its perennial first place ranking in pork per capita according to Citizens Against Government Waste’s (CAGW) Congressional Pig Book. Now, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) wants taxpayers to pay for a road in her state linking the town of King Cove (about 750 year-round residents) to Cold Bay and the latter’s all-weather airport, purportedly for safety reasons. In February, Sen. Murkowski threatened to block the nomination of Sally Jewell to be Secretary of the Interior unless the road was approved.

Sen. Murkowski’s pet project had previously been rebuffed by the Department of the Interior because the road would run through the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Environmental Impact Statement, the road would cost $22.7 million, but data from the Alaska Statewide Improvement Transportation budget projections from fiscal years 2010-2015 suggest that the cost of the road could exceed $80 million, or more than $2 million per mile. Undeterred, Sen. Murkowski stated on February 12 that she was “prepared to consider all actions available…to convince this administration that denying the people of King Cove reliable access to medical care would be a travesty.” This week, Sen. Murkowski struck a deal with the Interior Department to get the road proposal reevaluated and toned down her rhetoric regarding the nomination.

Predictably, it appears that commercial interests, not medical emergencies, are the primary driver of the project. According to a February 24, 2013 Washington Post article, “Originally, both area residents and state officials viewed the road as a way to bolster the region’s fishing industry. …when King Cove passed its first resolution calling for its construction, it did not mention safety concerns and instead called for the road to ‘link together two communities having one of the state’s premier fishing port/harbors.'” The “safety” defense emerged only after it appeared unlikely that the road would receive federal funds.

An Inconvenient Truth: More Polar Bears Alive Today Than 40 Years Ago

Photo Credit: AP/Dan JolingAuthor Zac Unger was originally drawn to the arctic circle to write a “mournful elegy” about how Global Warming was decimating the polar bear populations. He was surprised to find that the polar bears were not in such dire straits after all.

“There are far more polar bears alive today than there were 40 years ago,” Unger told NPR in an interview about his new book, “Never Look a Polar Bear in The Eye.” “There are about 25,000 polar bears alive today worldwide. In 1973, there was a global hunting ban. So once hunting was dramatically reduced, the population exploded.”

“This is not to say that global warming is not real or is not a problem for the polar bears,” Unger added. “But polar bear populations are large, and the truth is that we can’t look at it as a monolithic population that is all going one way or another.”

According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, there are an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears worldwide, living in Canada, Greenland, the northern Russian coast, islands of the Norwegian coast, and the northwest Alaskan coast.

Polar bears became a focal point for environmentalists after former Vice President Al Gore featured them in his 2006 global warming documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” The bears were classified as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act to in May 2008 because their habitat was being threatened by global warming.

Video: Unbelievable Footage of Eagle Snatching Baby (It’s a Fake)

UPDATE FROM THE DAILY CALLER: IT’S A FAKE

A design school in Montreal has taken credit for the video, explaining that the amazing clip was created using 3D animation techniques:

_______________________________________________________________________________
ORIGINAL STORY:

Next time you’re up North visiting America’s chilly hat — that’s Canada — don’t let small children out of your sight. That’s the takeaway lesson from a video that spread quickly Tuesday afternoon.

The 60-second clip shows a golden eagle swooping out of the sky and grabbing a small boy from a Montreal park, and trying to fly away with his prize.

Luckily for the boy — and for his dad, who was so busy filming birds of prey that he forgot to keep an eye on him — the eagle wasn’t prepared to carry away a 20-pound child. The animal dropped him from a height of three or four feet before zooming off to find a smaller snack.

Restoring Liberty’s Viral “Witty Otter” Video: The Rest of the Story and New Footage

The “Alaska Killer Whales vs. Witty Otter” video that Restoring Liberty broke two weeks ago has now gone viral, getting almost 1,000,000 views at the time of this writing. When we posted the video – put together by my son Jacob – we included a short but incomplete narrative of what happened.

Many major news outlets have picked up the story including Yahoo.com, The Blaze, the Daily Mail, and other sites. We’ve received a number of inquiries seeking more details on what happened with the otter, her baby and the killer whales in Tutka Bay last month. Interview requests are pouring in from Anderson Cooper, the Today Show, Fox affiliates, and other stations.

Here’s the original video:

So, this evening, I called my friend, Dusty Harpole, the Alaskan who filmed the sea otter/killer whale encounter, and he filled me in on the “rest of the story.”

Dusty told me that he and his friend were out black bear hunting in early October. They had borrowed a boat from Charlie Largent (another good friend and a major 2010 US Senate campaign volunteer) for the trip and were cruising from Jakolof Bay into Tutka Bay, Alaska. Although Dusty is an accomplished Alaskan hunter, having taken a number of trophy bears – including a ten foot plus brown bear just this past spring – he and his friend hadn’t had much excitement on this outing. In fact, they had only sighted one bear the entire trip. But as they entered Tutka Bay, things got exciting real fast.

First, they saw a bunch of killer whales – also known as orcas – splashing around the entrance of the bay. As Dusty maneuvered his boat further into the bay, the killer whales actually began to approach the boat. Dusty slowed and then stopped the boat, and the orcas continued to play nearby. Each time that Dusty attempted to leave, the orcas would follow the boat.

So, enjoying the playful killer whales, Dusty eventually just let the boat drift. After thirty minutes or so, the boat, with the orcas still alongside, drifted into the mother otter that is the subject of the viral video.

The mother otter was floating on her back with her baby on her stomach about twenty-five yards from the boat. The killer whales began to circle the mother and her baby. They did this for some time. The mother otter, with the baby clinging to her stomach, would place her head under water to watch the orcas.

Alaska Killer Whales vs. Witty Otter

In this extraordinary video taken this past week in Tutka Bay, Alaska, a mother otter avoids getting eaten by a group of killer whales by jumping on the back of my friend’s small boat that was in the area.

What’s not shown on the below video is one of the killer whales knocking the mother otter and her baby into the air. Unfortunately, the baby otter was eaten at that point while the mother made her escape.

The guys on the boat believe that the killer whales were training their young on how to hunt. That’s probably what allowed the mother otter to avoid being eaten herself.

As you watch this video, keep in mind that the killer whales that are swimming around and under the boat are much bigger than the boat itself.
