Correction: Miller Challenges Murkowski’s “good faith” on ObamaCare

The Joe Miller Campaign wishes to correct statements relating to its earlier press release issued today asserting that Senator Murkowski had not signed on to S. 3152, the Republican ObamaCare repeal bill. After months of being challenged on her position on ObamaCare, and Election Day drawing closer, our campaign has been informed that Senator Murkowski decided to sign on yesterday, July 29, 2010. There has been no public announcement of which our campaign is aware concerning the Senator’s change of heart. It should be noted the bill was introduced on March 23, 2010 with several of her Republican colleagues as co-sponsors. The other co-sponsors signed on within a month of the bill’s introduction. Only Murkowski waited until late into the summer. The Senator stated in a KTUU interview on March 30th, that repealing the bill was not the answer in her opinion. The Miller Campaign’s press release pointed to an article from The Hill on July 5th stating that Murkowski still had not signed on to the bill, and that her office did not respond to requests for comment on the story.

In spite of the fact that the Senator became a repeal convert, at least in words, around the time Joe Miller entered the race on April 19th, her reticence to co-sponsor S. 3152 before public pressure was brought to bear on her still raises questions about her commitment to repeal.
