Murkowski Lacks Integrity On Stimulus Accusations
Anchorage, Alaska. August 13, 2010 — US Senate Candidate Joe Miller is calling on Senator Murkowski to engage in constructive dialogue about the future of our country. In a press release a few days ago, Senator Murkowski accused Joe Miller of lying about her stance on President Obama’s Stimulus bill. “This is just another indication of how desperate the Murkowski camp is,” Miller said. “We are gaining ground in this race every day and their response is not to step up and talk about her record, but to attack my character. I think that is very telling.”
The truth of the matter is that it is Murkowski who lacks integrity on the issue. The Murkowski campaign tried to deceive the public by pulling a quote of Mr. Miller from the Dan Fagan Show months back and posting it on her website in which Miller states, “I’m shaking my finger at Murkowski for voting with Obama’s stimulus this year.” The Murkowski camp accuses Miller of lying because Murkowski voted against Obama’s first stimulus bill in 2009. Miller clearly stated during the program her vote was for Obama’s stimulus bill “this year,” also known as “Obama’s Second Stimulus.” Miller has often referred to it in this manner, as well. In spite of Murkowski’s protests, Miller stands by his claim that 2009 is not “this year,” and his statement was and is accurate.
On February 16, 2010 the New York Times reported that “members of Congress are now debating another, smaller stimulus bill (they’re calling it a “jobs bill,” seeing stimulus as a dirty word).”

This is surely a strange way of fighting against the President’s radical agenda. At the end of the day, Senator Murkowski is just another run-of-the-mill big spending, big government politician.
