Video: State Department Admits that Only One Person Was Guarding Ambassador at Time of Attack

Although much of her narrative is suspect, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs Charlene Lamb admitted that the Ambassador was protected by only one guard at the time of his death.

Watching this video should leave you convinced of the incompetency of the Obama administration:

Also, please take time to watch yesterday’s video of slain State Department employee Sean Smith’s mother blowing the whistle on the Obama Administration for lying.

And here’s an article about how Ambassador Stevens himself had requested more security.

Newly Confident Romney Moves to the Political Center in Risky Move that May Alienate Conservatives

Mitt Romney has taken a more centrist stance on the campaign trail recently, a move that coincides with the GOP nominee giving speeches that are more personal in nature and showing a new-found confidence to voters.

Confusion over Romney’s stance on abortion, which the candidate clarified during a stop at an Ohio restaurant — joined recent moves on immigration, financial reform, tax policies and healthcare toward the center, a more natural habitat for the former Massachusetts governor.

The move to the middle has had a twofold effect for Romney: first, it puts President Obama on his heels by thwarting planned attack lines designed to make Romney’s policies look unreasonable and far-right, and second, it gives the Republican nominee more leash than he had during the GOP primary, where questioning conservative dogma could have proven fatal to Romney’s campaign.

And it’s a message that has appeal to independent and swing voters who could decide the election.

But it also has its dangers, leaving Romney open to charges of flip-flopping. Democrats have already begun previewing attack lines that could show up in Romney’s next debate with Obama.

The GOP nominee, however, appears much more comfortable in this role.

New Photo’s From Obama’s College Years Include Photo of Ring that WND Alleges Reads “There is no God but Allah”

The New Yorker blog features new photos that verify my take on what our 44th president acted and looked like as a sophomore at Occidental College. Readers will note the real Obama, the young revolutionary extremist with a soft spot for Islam, that I got to know as a participant in Occidental’s radical student politics.

Most shockingly, the photos show Obama wearing a band on his left ring finger that WND alleges reads “there is no God but Allah.”

The photo I find to be most historically significant is the one that shows details from the anti-apartheid rally of February 18, 1981, the rally that debuted Obama’s famous first skit in Obama’s Dreams from My Father. In contrast to Obama’s story, the banner above the event proclaims the somewhat more complex cause of “Affirmative Action & Divestiture NOW.” The photo features many of the real life figures who would become composite characters in Obama’s autobiography. These include my white ex-girlfriend, Caroline Boss, the radical student leader who improbably lent her grandmother’s name – and much of her scintillating personality – to the big-boned, black “Regina” character.

For the record, I view these photos from the perspective of an accident victim looking at a long ago car wreck.

In Surprise Move, Standard & Poor’s Cuts Spain’s Debt Rating to One Step Beyond Junk Status

Spain’s debt rating was cut to one level above junk by Standard & Poor’s, which cited euro-region peers’ backtracking on a pledge to severe the link between the sovereign and its banks as it considers a second bailout.

The country was lowered two levels to BBB- from BBB+, New York-based S&P said in a statement yesterday. S&P assigned a negative outlook to the nation’s long-term rating and lowered the short-term sovereign level to A-3 from A-2.

The downgrade comes after Spain announced a fifth austerity package in less than a year and published details about stress tests of its banks. Creditworthiness concerns have grown since the government requested as much as 100 billion euros ($129 billion) in European Union aid in June to shore up its lenders and amid signals that the deficit target is in jeopardy.

S&P said the government’s action will probably be constrained by “a policy-setting framework among the euro-zone governments that still lacks predictability.” Recent statements on the European Stability Mechanism’s involvement in bank recapitalizations put into question the mutualization of loans to Spanish banks among euro-region nations, it said.

That possibility was a key factor in S&P’s decision to affirm ratings on Spain on Aug. 1 as it would enable Spanish net general government debt to remain under 80 percent of gross domestic product beyond 2015, it said.

Time to Rise Up Again: United Nations Considering International “SOPA” to Regulate, Tax Internet

In January, several million Americans contacted Congress to stop passage of two bills that would have destroyed Internet freedom and stifled innovation. The twin bills, Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (PIPA), were meant to counter Internet piracy, a very real problem. But they both used a sledgehammer when a scalpel was necessary. The legislation would have done more than block piracy – they would have hurt Internet users’ ability to get content from their favorite websites and prevented new websites from being created.

The world needs a similar citizen uprising to stop another well-meaning but harmful attack on the ability of Internet users to access websites outside their home countries. A United Nations body, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), will be meeting in December in Dubai to consider at least two proposals which would dramatically affect the ability of Internet users to get the content they want to receive over the Internet.

One proposal would require that a website owner or service provider pay a fee as a “sending party” to the government of any country for the country’s citizens to view the content. This would mean that popular websites like Khan Academy or BBC World would not be available to people outside their native countries unless the website or service provider paid a fee to the user’s country. This would hurt people in developing countries who hunger for access to quality news and education.

The countries that are advocating for this were getting money for international phone calls and have seen that revenue fall off. They see foreign website owners and service providers as having cash to fill the gap in declining long distance telephone revenue. They say they need this money to pay for their broadband infrastructure. But there are other proven ways to encourage quick broadband adoption, including liberalizing market access, encouraging broadband competition, providing spectrum awards and insisting on transparency of ownership of awardees of government telecommunications contracts.

Another proposal up for vote at the ITU meeting would allow governments or some type of multi-government body to use “security” or other justifications to create new rules to regulate the Internet.

Obama Continues to Rollout Pathetic Excuses for Debate Performance

Given the continued fall-out from the one-sided debate that Obama fantasized he won, the administration rolled out another series of excuses.

The Washington Examiner reported that Obama’s spokesperson, Jen Psaki, contended Americans are just too dumb to comprehend Obama’s “substantive” and lengthy answers:

[W]hat the American [people] are looking for is not just a professorial list of facts or accomplishments or even goals,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said yesterday as part of her ongoing, almost-comical attempt to lower expectations going into the debates. She then lamented that Obama “has a tendency to give longer, substantive answers.

Obama himself joined in the excuses. On the Tom Joyner Morning Show yesterday, the President said he didn’t do well because he was just too polite:

I think it’s fair to say I was just too polite, because, you know, it’s hard to sometimes just keep on saying and what you’re saying isn’t true. It gets repetitive. But, you know, the good news is, is that’s just the first one.

Obama then threatened “more activity” in the next debate.

Here’s the audio:

Americans are growing tired of the continued Obama excuses, whether they be about the terrible state of the US economy, the Libyan fiasco, or even his debate performance. Perhaps that’s why Obama has slidden so rapidly in the polls and is now losing in Florida and is poised to fail in Pennsylvania as well as other swing states.

Bipartisan Study Group: A Nuclear Iran Would be Devastating to US Economy

Oil prices “could double,” increasing the U.S. price of gasoline by up to $2.75, if Iran is permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon, according to a new economic analysis by a bipartisan team of current and former government officials.

While much attention has been given to the costs of preventive military action against Iran, a new report by the Bipartisan Policy Center shows that, over time, “gasoline prices could increase by more than 70 percent,” sending America “into a severe recession” and costing the country “more than five million” jobs.

“If any of the conflicts or energy disruptions that become more likely from a nuclear Iran actually occur, the energy impact and economic consequences would be more severe,” the report states. “Inflation could skyrocket to almost 5 percent,” leading to widespread job loss.

Authored by a team of former military leaders, economists, and lawmakers, the report examines a handful of scenarios that could result if Iran is permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon. In each outcome, oil and gasoline prices increase exponentially.

“Inaction also poses economic risks,” former Democratic Sen. Charles Robb (Va.) told a group of reporters Wednesday during a discussion about the report. “Heightened expectation … and instability triggered by the consequences of a nuclear Iran would cause the price of oil to go much higher and remain high … significantly impacting the US economy.”

Tennessee GOP Congressman, Claiming to Be “Tea Party and ProLife,” Pushed Mistress to Have Abortion

In this sordid report from the leftist Huffington Post, another Congressman is outed as not reflecting the values he campaigned on. In this case, he had multiple affairs and pushed one mistress to have an abortion when he suspected the child was his:

A pro-life, family-values congressman who worked as a doctor before winning election as a Tea Party-backed Republican had an affair with a patient and later pressured her to get an abortion, according to a phone call transcript obtained by The Huffington Post.

The congressman, Rep. Scott DesJarlais of Tennessee, was trying to save his marriage at the time, according to his remarks on the call, made in September of 2000. And, according to three independent sources familiar with the call and the recording, he made the tape himself.

DesJarlais, who was provided a copy of the transcript by HuffPost, did not deny its contents, but in a statement released through his campaign characterized it as just another sordid detail dredged up by the opposition. “Desperate personal attacks do not solve our nation’s problems, yet it appears my opponents are choosing to once again engage in the same gutter politics that CBS news called the dirtiest in the nation just 2 years ago.”

That race featured charges culled from DesJarlais’ divorce from Susan DesJarlais, which was finalized in 2001. The filing included allegations that he held a gun in his own mouth for hours in one instance and that he “dry fired” a gun outside his wife’s bedroom in another.

DesJarlais’ campaign vigorously denied those charges in his 2010 race against Democratic Rep. Lincoln Davis, saying they were hauled out of history for political purposes and had not been deemed credible at the time.

Videos: Chris Matthews & Congressman Cummings Caught Lying About GOP Cuts as the Cause of Inadequate Security in Benghazi

In trying to blame the Libyan security fiasco on the GOP, Chris Matthews asked Rep. Elijah Cummings today, “What about this fact, apparently, that the Republicans in the House were the ones who cut effectively a half a billion dollars in security costs. . .” Congressman Cummings responded, “That’s exactly right, that’s exactly right”:

Unfortunately for Cummings and Matthews, the decision to reduce security in Benghazi had absolutely nothing to do with GOP budget cuts.

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher later asked the State Department official responsible for denying the additional security directly whether budget restraints had anything to do with the inadequate security. She answered, “No”:

Why Socially Conservative Blacks & Hispanics Tend to Vote Democratic

How is it possible that two groups who have historical legacies of being religious could vote in elections overwhelmingly for the political party that promotes and legalizes “sin” (homosexuality, abortion, gay marriage, taking God out of the mainstream, sloth, etc.) – the Democrats? Blacks have consistently voted in the 90% range for Democrats, and Latinos have voted in the 60-70% range.

The answer to this question can be found in a great statement made recently by Glenn Beck. He said, “When somebody has an agenda, they don’t want to hear the truth.” That is, they let their dominant agenda trump any other agenda they might have. In this case, blacks and Latinos are letting their racial and ethnic identity trump their religious identity. He also said that when this is the case, the more radical are even sometimes given to “lying” (in political ads and speeches), stealing (votes) and cheating (in getting unqualified people to vote)” to advance their agenda. (More “sins”.) And if someone isn’t representing the truth, they automatically are in lies (untruths).

Some of the groups that have at least some agendas and ideologies not based on truth would be: liberals, racists, feminists, hedonists, homosexuals, environmentalists, political parties, various religions/denominations, secularists, various addictions, illegal aliens – including blind addiction to happiness and pleasure, and various personal agendas that aren’t in harmony with nature as designed by its Creator.

And speaking of illegal aliens, why do democrats and democrat judges work hard to make sure that ID’s aren’t required for voting? That doesn’t make sense, when ID’s are required for nearly everything else. The only possible conclusion is that they don’t want their many attempts at voter fraud to be stymied (dead people, felons, pets, multiple votes, illegal aliens, etc.).

A problem with people who have agendas (as the Glenn Beck quote stated) is that they are hard to reason with because based on the tenets of their agenda, they allow a blind, knee-jerk, lock-step loyalty to those tenets to overrule their ability to reason, as they just parrot the sound bites of those tenets. And the fact that they often use name-calling and emotion to push those sound bites and silence their opponents – especially within their racial, ethnic or special-interest group – implicitly says that they don’t have enough confidence in the tenets of the agenda or ideology that they are aligning with to be able to calmly and intelligently present and defend them and persuade others.
