Federal ‘Motor Voter’ Forms In KS, AZ Must Include Proof of Citizenship (+video)

Photo Credit: APA federal judge ordered the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to immediately add state-specific instructions requiring documented proof of citizenship to mail-in federal “Motor Voter” registration forms used in Kansas and Arizona.

Both states have laws requiring applicants to prove they are U.S. citizens before they are registered to vote. The federal form only requires them to swear under penalty of perjury that they are U.S. citizens.

“Because the Constitution gives the states exclusive authority to set voter qualifications under the Qualification Clause, and because no clear congressional enactment attempts to preempt this authority, the Court finds that the states’ determination that a mere oath is not sufficient is all the states are required to establish,” U.S. District Court Judge Eric Melgren said in his March 19th ruling in Wichita. (See EAC – 2014-03-19 US Dist Ct Decision Kobach v EAC.pdf)

“This is victory not only for Kansas and Arizona, but for all 50 states,” Kansas Secretary of State Kobach told CNSNews.com. “Any one of those 50 states may now choose to follow our example and require proofs of citizenship when people register to vote. There are two other states that are doing it already, Alabama and Georgia, for a total of four states.

“And I would encourage more states to do so because anytime an alien votes, it effectively cancels out the vote of a U.S. citizen.

Is Obama Too Busy to be President?

Photo Credit: American ThinkerIs Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold.

None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf. During the five-plus years that we have been without a real president, meaning one who actually was aware of all aspects of the position and tried, even just a little, to perform them, everything that was predicted to occur during his tenure has materialized. We are weaker, less respected, less feared, less liked and, well, just less. No surprise there, really. Conservatives had this guy figured out early in the first campaign, and they were spot on. No record, no experience, no consistency, no integrity, no background, no evidence of morals, no normal friends or associates, and no supporters who cared more about their country than about their silly self-congratulation over electing the first black man who seemed just like them: unserious.

If we assume that the president is even half as smart as we’ve been told he is, which would still make him the smartest person ever to live, you’d think he would have picked up some skills along the way, or gained some firsthand experience that might come in handy. You know, maybe how to read the tea leaves to foresee the bad things that could happen if you take a certain action, or what might happen if you decide to take no action at all when action is necessary. Perhaps you’d think that someone that smart would be open to what more informed people in fields like intelligence and foreign relations have to say, and would use his smarts to discern which advice seemed most sage to plot his course, and ours. He could still claim credit for the successful final decision, after all, which is really all that matters.

But you’d be wrong. In every single crisis that has arisen since the beginning of Obama’s reign of error, he has had something else to do, something that was so much more important than the grenade going off behind him that he just could not find the time to address the crisis of the moment. The celebrity and the trappings of the position have always been vastly more important to this man than the responsibilities, so much so that when faced with the choice of focusing on something hard requiring judgment and decisiveness, and giving in to something easy and self-indulgent, he always goes with easy and self-indulgent.

Holder Denies Cruz’s Request for Special Prosecutor in IRS Targeting

Photo Credit: DonkeyHoteyAttorney General Eric Holder has denied Sen. Ted Cruz’s demand for a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS’s targeting of tea party groups – a rejection the Texas Republican is slamming as “the height of hypocrisy” by the Obama administration.

The tea party favorite had called for the appointment on Jan. 22, writing the nation’s top prosecutor that it had been eight months “since both you and President Obama professed outrage at the IRS’s wrongful conduct,” and yet no legal action had been taken.

But in a March 10 reply, the Department of Justice curtly asserted “such an appointment is not warranted” because the case doesn’t present a conflict of interest, adding that “career prosecutors and law-enforcement professionals” were conducting the probe.

“The Department remains committed to integrity and fairness in all of its law-enforcement efforts, without regard to politics,” the letter stated. It was signed by Peter Kadzik, principal deputy assistant attorney general.

Republicans have pointed out the investigator in the Justice department probe is a partisan donor to President Obama and Democratic causes.

WATCH: Kevin Bacon Reprises ‘Footloose’ in Grand Entrance to Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’

NBC’s “The Tonight Show” Thirty years after playing Ren McCormack in the iconic eighties film “Footloose,” Kevin Bacon put on his dancing shoes once again for a dramatic entrance to NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, complete with that burgundy tux jacket and sparkles in the air.

As in the 1984 film, the powers that be (this time apparently the executives at NBC) issue an edict stating that dancing is no longer allowed on the Tonight Show. Fallon announces the new rule to his incredulous and upset audience as Bacon watches on television from his dressing room. His reaction, “Jump back, this is the Tonight Show, there has to be dancing.” He pulls a cassette tape out of his jeans back pocket, pops it into a handy nearby wall-mounted player, and the rest, as they say, is movie re-creation history.

Bacon proves once again the words of Solomon (quoted by Ren in “Footloose”) are true. Despite what any human ordinance may decree, in the divine scheme of things, “There is a time to dance.”

Why Does Air Force Academy Encourage Atheism, Prosecute Christianity?

Photo Credit: Fox News There appears to be a double-standard at the Air Force Academy.

The Academy is defending its promotion of an atheist event just a week after a Christian cadet was pressured into removing a Bible verse from his personal white board because it allegedly offended non-Christian cadets.

“Ask An Atheist Day” was sponsored by The Freethinkers Club, an Academy approved cadet club. The event was advertised all week on Academy bulletin screens and an official email sent to the Cadet Wing. An invitation was also issued by a cadet to the entire Cadet Wing assembly on Tuesday.

As I reported last week, a cadet “voluntarily” removed a Bible verse he had written on a white board hanging outside his dorm room. “I have been crucified with Christ therefore I no longer live, but Christ lives in me,” the verse from Galatians 2:20 read.

That verse led to a formal complaint from Mikey Weinstein, of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. Exactly two hours and nine minutes after the complaint was filed, the Bible verse was erased.

Feminist: Babies are ‘Time-Sucking Monsters’

Babies are “time-sucking monsters,” according to a feminist blogger who says she considers abortion “kind of my jam.”

Amanda Marcotte, in a recent post at Rawstory.com that blasted Republicans and “anti-choicers,” said abortion “may roll itself into the world of obsolescence.”

“Let me just put a stop to this **** right now,” Marcotte wrote. “You can give me gold-plated day care and an awesome public school right on the street corner and start paying me 15 percent more at work, and I still do not want a baby. I don’t particularly like babies. They are loud and smelly and, above all other things, demanding.

“No matter how much free day care you throw at women, babies are still time-sucking monsters with their constant neediness,” she declared

Marcotte said she is pleased with her present life, which gives her the “ability to do what I want when I want without having to arrange for a babysitter.”

Photo Credit: APPelosi to Receive Planned Parenthood Award Honoring Eugenicist

By Penny Starr.

Next week, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America will present House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) with the Margaret Sanger Award. The award is the group’s “highest honor” and is named for a woman who believed in breeding better humans through eugenics.

Planned Parenthood is the nation’s leading abortion provider, having performed 327,166 of the procedures in 2012, according to its latest annual report.

Pelosi, a Catholic, will receive the Margaret Sanger Award at the PPFA’s annual gala in Washington, D.C. on Mar. 27. She is being honored, according to PPFA, because of her “leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement over the course of her career.”

Planned Parenthood, according to its website, traces its origins to 1916 when Sanger opened a birth control office in Brooklyn, N.Y. (In 1917, she started publishing The Birth Control Review.) In 1923, Sanger opened the Birth Control Clinical Research Bureau in Manhattan to provide contraceptives to women and collect data on their effectiveness.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Star On Culture War Debate: Bring it On

Photo Credit: Breitbart The culture war that rocked Duck Dynasty late last year pitted the reality show’s patriarch against media outlets which willfully misinterpreted his comments about the gay lifestyle.

For son Willie Robertson, the ensuing debate had one happy, happy happy side effect. The country started examining politically correct speech and what people can and cannot believe, he says. That’s precisely the kind of discussion that is healthy for the country.

“I loved it,” Robertson tells Breitbart News.

He hopes a similar conversation ensues after people see God’s Not Dead, a movie pitting an atheist professor (Kevin Sorbo) against a spiritually aware student (Shane Harper).

“Just like this movie where there’s a testing of the faith, there was a testing of the show [last year] … are we just in this for the money, for the fame, or is there something bigger?” he says in comparing the projects.

Middle School Workbook Reportedly Includes What Could Be the Most Outrageous Definition of the Second Amendment Yet

An Illinois father claims a workbook that teaches the Second Amendment comes with a requirement to register firearms was handed out to seventh-graders at Grant Middle School in Springfield, including his own son.

An image posted on the Illinois Gun Owners Rights Facebook page shows a worksheet that defines the Second Amendment as the following:

“This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison. The founding fathers included this amendment to prevent the United States from acting like the British who had tried to take weapons away from the colonists.”

The parent reportedly spoke anonymously to Storyleak.com and the Examiner about the workbook, which he says includes a summary of the entire Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

“My son was given a workbook at school that is a compilation of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. When they covered the Second Amendment, he saw that they were stating that only ‘certain guns’ could be owned and that they had to be ‘registered,’ which he knew was false,” the parent reportedly said.

Vatican Chief Justice: Obama’s Policies ‘Progressively More Hostile Toward Christian Civilization’

Photo Credit: AP / Charles DharapakPresident Barack Obama’s policies “have become progressively more hostile toward Christian civilization,” Cardinal Raymond Burke, head of the highest court at the Vatican, said in a recent interview.

Cardinal Burke added that Obama wants to restrict religious freedom and force the individuals, outside of his or her place of worship, “to act against his rightly-formed conscience, even in the most serious of moral questions.”

In an interview first published in Polish in Polonia Christiana magazine and republished exclusively in English at LifeSite News, Cardinal Burke, the former archbishop of St. Louis, was asked about President Obama’s policies towards Christian civilization and if there are any “Catholic reactions against this policy? If yes, what are they, [or] if not, why?”

Cardinal Burke, who heads the Apostolic Signatura, the highest court at the Vatican, said: “It is true that the policies of the president of the United States of America have become progressively more hostile toward Christian civilization. He appears to be a totally secularized man who aggressively promotes anti-life and anti-family policies.”

“Now he [Obama] wants to restrict the exercise of the freedom of religion to freedom of worship; that is, he holds that one is free to act according to his conscience within the confines of his place of worship but that, once the person leaves the place of worship, the government can constrain him to act against his rightly-formed conscience, even in the most serious of moral questions,” said Cardinal Burke.
