Glenn Beck: This Is Where Obama Snapped at State of the Union

Photo Credit: National Review Glenn Beck and his radio co-hosts, Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere, responded to the State of the Union in real time on Tuesday, saying the only way they could tolerate watching the entire speech was by “addressing all the lies” as President Barack Obama spoke them.

There were a few parts of the speech that stuck out to Beck, and he discussed them on his radio program Wednesday. One of the most memorable moments, Beck said, was when the president “just snapped and got all dark and ugly,” just after encouraging the nation to come together.

The president said: “That’s a better politics. That’s how we start rebuilding trust. That’s how we move this country forward. That’s what the American people want. That’s what they deserve. I have no more campaigns to run–”

Then, as people began to applaud, the president went off his prepared remarks and added: “I know, because I won both of them.”

“Right in the middle of him saying, ‘You know what, I just love everybody and we all have to work together,’ he takes a shift,” Beck said. “[And] all he’s doing is just raising money for the campaign. That’s all this guy has done!” (Read more on how Obama snapped HERE)

Watch What a Walmart Shopper Stupidly Does When He Sees a Man Carrying a Gun

When 62-year-old Clarence Daniels walked into a Florida Walmart on Tuesday, he couldn’t have suspected that he would barely make it past the door.

Walmart video surveillance shows Daniels going into the store, but before he can get much further than the entrance, someone comes up from behind and throws him to the ground. Believing he’s definitely apprehended a bad guy, the man, who Fox 13 identified as Michael Foster, then restrains Daniels even more.

As Daniels is being held down, a few shoppers who had assumed that Foster is perhaps a hero in the making decide to help him out with the pending citizen’s arrest. They also take away Daniel’s holstered firearm that was under his shirt. Then, Foster calls 911.

In a turn of events that Foster probably didn’t expect, the authorities arrive and it’s not Daniels they’re putting in the back of the squad car – it’s him. (Read more about the Walmart shopper HERE)

Here’s What Clint Eastwood Said to Michael Moore, But Chris Kyle Himself Had the Best Retort to His Critics (+video)

By Kevin Boyd. Back in 2005, both Clint Eastwood and Michael Moore were being honored for their films at the National Board of Review dinner. Michael Moore was being honored for the anti-gun documentary Bowling for Columbine and Clint Eastwood was being honored for Million Dollar Baby . . .

When Clint Eastwood got up to make a speech after accepting his award, he directed some comments to Michael Moore. According to the Washington Examiner, Heston said:

“Michael Moore and I actually have a lot in common – we both appreciate living in a country where there’s free expression,” he said.

Eastwood then added: “But, Michael, if you ever show up at my front door with a camera – I’ll kill you.”

The audience laughed and Eastwood grinned.

Chris Kyle Himself Had the Best Comeback to ‘American Sniper’ Critics

By Victoria Taft. This exchange, three years ago, between comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien and Chris Kyle shows why the retired Navy SEAL was so beloved. At the time of the interview, Kyle was touring to publicize his book, American Sniper.

In the nearly-five minute interview, Kyle admits that he wished he had tried out for SEAL Team 6. Considering Kyle was the best sniper in American military history, that comes as a surprise to many.

Conan gets the good-natured Kyle to laugh throughout, asking him about the more than mile-long kill shot Kyle touted in his book. Kyle, in his usual humble way, says he was just a ‘monkey on a gun,’ a suggestion at which O’Brien scoffs. (Read more from this story HERE)

Domino’s Pizza to Obamacare: Fed’s Calorie Rule is a Disaster

The final Obamacare regulation forcing restaurant chains to display calorie information is causing headaches for companies who say it is “impossible to comply” with the new rule.

Domino’s Pizza, one of the regulation’s most outspoken critics, said the rule from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is vaguely written and carries the possibility of jail time.

“Essentially we think this rule is a kind of disaster for everybody,” Lynn Liddle, executive vice president of Domino’s, told the Washington Free Beacon. “Not just pizza but restaurants, and anybody that’s going to fall within this law. It’s still not workable.”

One problem, Liddle said, is that the final rule broadly expanded the definition of what qualifies as a “menu.” Under the rule “menu” can refer to any writing that “used by a customer to make an order selection at the time the customer is viewing the writing,” which could apply to advertisements.

“We no longer know what a menu is,” Liddle said. “It’s really hard to interpret. Essentially they’re saying anything that a consumer can look at and make a potential ordering decision from is a menu.” She said this could apply to flyers, ads in the newspapers, or signs in the window. State Persecuting 88-Year-Old Doctor Who Treats Poor From His Car

Doctors’ house calls are considered a thing of the past, but not in the appointment book of Dr. Carrol Frazier Landrum, an 88-year-old physician from Edwards, Mississippi. The good doctor will see you no matter who you are, where you are, or how much money you have — as long his 2007 Toyota Camry can deliver him to your location. But now his state’s medical board wants to see him gone.

Dr. Landrum, a WWII veteran, was forced to make a change after crime drove him from his Edwards, Mississippi, office two years ago, and he couldn’t find another space suited to his practice. “I had my car, and I realized I could do most everything out of it that I needed to be doing,” said Landrum, according to the Clarion-Ledger. The paper continued, and “for many in the town of Edwards’ 1,034 residents and others in the metro area, that car has become a lifeline — it’s the makeshift office of the 88-year-old Dr. Landrum, who is the only practicing physician in the town.”

And many of the doctor’s trips take him beyond the town. The octogenarian — in practice for 55 years — sometimes drives 50 miles to meet people in their homes, in a parking lot, or by the roadside. It’s a vital service in Mississippi, the nation’s poorest state, where rural transportation is limited and an emergency room visit can spell financial disaster . . .

Unfortunately, government authorities don’t seem have much of a heart for Landrum or the poor. The Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure has asked Dr. Landrum “to surrender his medical license, which he’s carried in his pocket with pride since Dwight D. Eisenhower was president,” writes the Post. (Read more about the state persecuting 88-year-old doctor HERE)

ESPN Host Mocks Joni Ernst for Growing up Poor

By Kristinn Taylor. Liberal icon and current ESPN host Keith Olbermann took to Twitter Wednesday night to callously mock Sen. Joni Ernst for her growing up in a poor working family in Red Oak, Iowa.

Ernst spoke of her childhood when she gave the Republican response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address . . .

Olbermann fired off ten tweets in a row mocking Ersnt after her speech, some with the hashtag #SOTUresponse, cribbed from the Monty Python sketch The Four Yorkshiremen.

Of course, we had it tough. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning…

Joni Ernst Being Called ‘New Star’ for GOP Response at State of the Union

By Joe Saunders. Newly sworn-in Republican Sen. Joni Ernst delivered the party’s response to President Obama’s State of the Union address in a soft voice, but with a sharp contrast between the parties’ approach to government — and some not-so-veiled criticism of the president’s performance since taking office.

And she won praise from both ends of the political spectrum.

“I do think tonight a semi-star was born,” conservative columnist George Will told Fox News anchor Bret Baier after Ernst’s speech. “I think Senator Ernst from Iowa passed a test that others have failed. And, in doing so, she helped put a fresh face on the Republican Party.”

Fox contributor, liberal commentator Juan Williams agreed, noting that the dueling speeches marked the themes of the 2016 presidential campaign. (Read more from this story HERE)

Re-Elected Virginia Lawmaker Pressed with Even More Criminal Charges

A Virginia lawmaker who was just re-elected despite being jailed for a sex scandal with a teenager has been indicted on new felony charges, according to a special prosecutor.

The forgery and perjury indictment of Del. Joseph D. Morrissey was returned and sealed the day before the election, and announced Wednesday by Spotsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney William Neely.

The lawmaker now stands accused of forging a document he vouched for in court, and persuading the girl’s mother to swear to its authenticity as well. That woman, Deidre Warren, also was indicted on perjury and forgery charges. Morrissey faces up to 10 years on each count if convicted, Neely said.

Morrissey says the charges are false and he will fight them in court.

“This is a very harmful and mean-spirited blow, but I’ll do what I’ve always done. I’ll prevail,” Morrissey told reporters after arriving at the Capitol Wednesday for the legislative session. (Read more about the re-elected Virginia lawmaker HERE)

$200M Ransom Shows ISIS Financial Desperation

Photo Credit: Interdependent By Cristina Corbin. The Islamic State’s staggering $200 million demand for two Japanese hostages may reveal the terrorist group’s desperation to maintain control of its sprawling caliphate, especially amid falling black market oil revenues from seized wells and pipelines, terrorism experts said.

An online video purportedly released by the group’s al-Furqan media arm and posted Tuesday on militant websites associated with the terror network presents a pricey ultimatum: Japan must pay $200 million within 72 hours or two Japanese hostages — a 42-year-old private military company operator and a 47-year-old freelance journalist — will be executed.

The hostages, identified as Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto Jogo, appear in the video in orange jumpsuits like other hostages previously killed by Islamic State, which controls a third of Iraq and Syria. The militant who threatens them speaks in a British accent and may be the same jihadist who appeared in videos with western journalists who were beheaded.

While Prime Minister Shinzo Abe vowed to save the men — saying, “Their lives are the top priority” — the Japanese government declined to say whether it would pay the ransom. (Read more about ISIS financial desperation HERE)

ISIS Gaining Ground in Yemen

By Brian Todd. The Syria-based terror group ISIS is active and recruiting inside the Middle Eastern state of Yemen, already a hotbed of terrorist activity, CNN has learned.

The disturbing information comes from a Yemeni official, who told CNN on Wednesday that ISIS has a presence in at least three provinces in southern and central Yemen, and there is now a “real competition” between ISIS and the Yemen-based terror group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP.

That competition manifested itself in a gun-battle between the two groups in Yemen’s eastern provinces last month, the same official said, though he did not have specifics on the casualties that resulted from that incident.

CNN cannot independently confirm the claims. (Read more from this story HERE)

Alaskan Court Overturns Man’s Conviction in ‘Last Seduction’

Photo Credit: Kiskadee 3The Alaska Court of Appeals has overturned the murder conviction of a man charged with killing his romantic rival at the urging of the woman they both hoped to marry.

The court on Wednesday reversed the murder conviction for John Carlin III, who was convicted in 2006 of killing Kent Leppink on an isolated trail about in a small community south of Anchorage 10 years earlier. The case went unsolved until Alaska State Troopers reopened it in 2004.

Prosecutors had claimed he was coaxed into killing Leppink by the woman at the center of the romantic triangle, Mechele Linehan, an exotic dancer who lived with the two men in Anchorage.

Prosecutors maintained she was inspired by the 1994 movie, “The Last Seduction,” in which a femme fatale coaxes her lover into killing her husband for money. (Read more about what the Alaskan court did HERE)

Former Bachelorette and Fiancee Call it Quits, Here’s the Incredible Reason Why

Josh Murray and Andi Dorfman got engaged on the popular hit reality show “Bachelorette” back in 2014 and have recently decided to call it quits. Sadly, for this show about finding love, this is the outcome more often than not.

Sources say the two worked hard to make their relationship work, but in spite of their efforts have decided to go their separate ways.

On January 8, Josh Murray reportedly posted a picture of a man down on his knees and the words “Lord, help me to have faith in your plan.”

Judging by this statement and social media posts from his mother, he is a Christian and so is the rest of his family. Josh’s mom, Lauren Murray, wrote on her Facebook page saying:

“The engagement time did it’s job in helping them determine what’s best for them. I know we all wanted the storybook ending but I trust The Lord has an even better journey for each of them and that makes my heart happy. Thank you for your love and messages. I’m overwhelmed & humbled by your words. XO.” (Read more about the former bachelorette and fiancee calling it quits HERE)
