Obama’s Pentagon Wants Individuals to Stop Guarding Recruiting Stations

Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said in a statement that Secretary of Defense Ash Carter “is currently reviewing recommendations from the services for making our installations and facilities safer – including our recruiting stations” following the July 16 attack that left four Marines and a Navy sailor dead.

“While we greatly appreciate the outpouring of support for our recruiters from the American public, we ask that individuals not stand guard at recruiting offices as it could adversely impact our mission, and potentially create unintended security risks,” Cook added.

In the days following the attack, citizens groups, veterans, local law enforcement and the National Guard have stood watch outside of recruiting offices across the country. It’s also raised questions over a 23-year-old federal policy that leaves service members unable to defend themselves on Pentagon property. Commodities Collapsed Just Before the Last Stock Market Crash – so Guess What Is Happening Right Now?

If we were going to see a stock market crash in the United States in the fall of 2015 (to use a hypothetical example), we would expect to see commodity prices begin to crash a few months ahead of time. This is precisely what happened just before the great financial crisis of 2008, and we are watching the exact same thing happen again right now. On Wednesday, commodities got absolutely pummeled, and at this point the Bloomberg Commodity Index is down a whopping 26 percent over the past twelve months. When global economic activity slows down, demand for raw materials sinks and prices drop. So important global commodities such as copper, iron ore, aluminum, zinc, nickel, lead, tin and lumber are all considered to be key “leading indicators” that can tell us a lot about where things are heading next. And what they are telling us right now is that we are rapidly approaching a global economic meltdown.

If the global economy was actually healthy and expanding, the demand for commodities would be increasing and that would tend to drive prices up. But instead, prices continue to go down.

The Bloomberg Commodity Index just hit a brand new 13-year low. That means that global commodity prices are already lower than they were during the worst moments of the last financial crisis . . .

The commodities rout that’s pushed prices to a 13-year low pulled some of the biggest mining and energy companies below levels seen during the financial crisis.

The FTSE 350 Mining Index plunged as much as 4.9 percent to the lowest since 2009 on Wednesday, with BHP Billiton Ltd. and Anglo American Plc leading declines. Gold and copper are near the lowest in at least five years, while crude oil retreated to $50 a barrel.

Media Hammers Trump, Suggesting He May Now Be Open to Amnesty [+video]

(Editor’s note: Trump has previously made statements unambiguously supporting forms of amnesty. However, the below article – and many others today like it – are designed by the MSM to make Trump’s current positions appear soft on illegal aliens to help soften his hard-right support. But suggesting Trump is currently advocating for amnesty based upon his statements in the below video is weak, at best. Listen to Joe’s perspective on the Trump candidacy at the end of the below article)

At a campaign event today at the U.S.-Mexico border, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump left the door open to amnesty. He did so at a press conference on the border.

A reporter asked, “Mr. Trump, what would you do with the 11 million undocument immigrants who are already here?”

“The first thing we have to do is strengthen our borders,” Trump started . . .

Trump has not made clear how as president of the United States he would deal with the illegal immigrants already in this country. Today’s press conference left the door open for some sort of amnesty in the future.

More Illegals Will Avoid Deportation Under Obama’s New Policy, Report Says

Twenty-five thousand more people will avoid deportation each year under a new federal information-sharing agreement with local jails, but more immigrants convicted of serious crimes will be deported, according to an analysis of deportation numbers by a nonpartisan think tank.

Using Census Bureau and Homeland Security Department data, the Migration Policy Institute issued a report Thursday that asserts the so-called Priority Enforcement Program would target about 13 percent of immigrants in the U.S. without authorization, or about 1.4 million of the estimated 11 million people.

Previous immigration policies targeted a much wider swath, about 27 percent of all immigrants in the country illegally, or about 3 million people.

The new program has the “potential to substantially reshape” enforcement practices by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, report author Marc Rosenblum wrote.

President Barack Obama announced in November that the Priority Enforcement Program would replace the older Secure Communities program, which provided immigration agents with fingerprint records collected at local jails. Animal-Rights Activists Arrested in Multi-State Crime Spree

Two animal-rights activists were arrested Friday and charged with terrorizing the fur industry during cross-country road trips which they released about 5,740 mink from farms and vandalized homes and businesses of industry, the FBI said.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested Joseph Brian Buddenberg, 31, and Nicole Juanita Kissane, 28, both of Oakland, California. They both were charged with conspiracy to violate the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.

A federal grand jury indictment unsealed Friday said the two caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages during 40,000 miles of cross-country trips over the summer and into the fall of 2013.

“Whatever your feelings about the fur industry, there are legal ways to make your opinions known,” U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy said in a statement. “The conduct alleged here, sneaking around at night, stealing property and vandalizing homes and businesses with acid, glue, and chemicals, is a form of domestic terrorism and can’t be permitted to continue.”

Buddenberg and Kissane are accused of sneaking onto farms in Idaho, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Minnesota to free mink. They also allegedly destroyed breeding records as well. In one case, they released a bobcat from a farm in Montana, according to the FBI. (Read more from “Animal-Rights Activists Arrested in Multi-State Crime Spree” HERE)

Watch Ted Cruz Slam Down CODEPINK Outside White House

Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) tussled with and shut down a group of left wing activists from CODEPINK on Thursday during a rally outside the White House organized by activists opposed to a recently inked nuclear accord with Iran.

Cruz was meant to speak at a gathering of around 50 protestors and lawmakers who had gathered in front of the White House to express their opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, which will provide the Islamic Republic with billions of dollars in sanctions relief while keeping its core nuclear infrastructure intact.

However, as Cruz approached the podium, a delegation of CODEPINK activists who had crashed the event attempted to shut him down by screaming over a loud speaker.

The rally, which was organized by the Concerned Women for America (CWA), also was scheduled to include Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.), as well as former Reagan administration official Gary Bauer.

“We want a peace president. We want a peace candidate. We want diplomacy not war,” yelled one of the CODEPINK protestors as Cruz attempted to address the crowd. (Read more from “Cruz Shuts Down CODEPINK Outside White House” HERE)

Donald Trump Makes a Texas-Size Splash With Visit to Mexican Border

A defiant Donald Trump, visiting the U.S. border with Mexico here Thursday, said again that he will not apologize for his hard-line rhetoric on illegal immigration or back away from his plan to build a wall between the two nations.

During a whirlwind visit — it was less than three hours from when his jet touched down to when it took off — Trump blazed around in a presidential-style motorcade that included seven SUVs and even more police cars. Local officers blocked off roads, including Interstate 35, for Trump’s entourage.

The Republican presidential candidate, leading the GOP field in national polls but increasingly under fire from the establishment wing of his party, said repeatedly that he had been told he would be in “great danger” if he visited this town of 236,000 in southern Texas — even though Laredo, which is roughly 96 percent Hispanic, has a significantly lower murder rate than Trump’s home town of New York City. He would not say who had told him that he was at risk.

At the World Trade Bridge, where a long line of 18-wheelers queued up to enter the United States, Trump spent half an hour meeting with local leaders — none of whom seemed eager to endorse his signature prescription for border security.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, with the crossing as a backdrop, Laredo City Manager Jesus Olivares said the border fence Trump has been calling for was not on their list of priorities. (Read more from “Donald Trump Makes a Texas-Size Splash With Visit to Mexican Border” HERE)

Transgender Only Modeling Agency Opening in This City

In November 2014, Thailand’s Apple Model Management became the first agency in the world to represent transgender models in addition to its stable cisgender (non-trans) male and female models. This summer, Apple Model Management L.A. [Los Angeles] will open its doors to exclusively represent transgender models.

“We see trans individuals as beautiful,” says L.A. agency director Cecilio Asuncion. “Our strong commitment to developing them as successful models is never about quantifying or qualifying their gender. It’s never a question of if they are women or men, it’s about their passion and commitment to being the best possible models they can be.”

Asuncion, whose award winning documentary film What’s the T? explores the lives of transgender women, points out that there have been trans models throughout history such as Candy Darling, Caroline Cossey (aka Tula), Octavia Saint Laurent, and now Andreja Pejic. “But their full potential was never reached because of the stigma the community-at-large had towards the trans community,” he says. “This has to change.” (Read more from “Transgender Only Modeling Agency Opening in This City” at this pro-homosexual website HERE)

Welcome Home: Kenya Ready for Obama

Everyone thought Francis Oduor was dead. In fact the Kenyan international footballer had fled into the bush, walked four miles and gone into hiding after his house was torched. When he resurfaced, people were shocked and ashamed. “I was like the walking dead,” he said. “Everyone recoiled at the sight of me.”

Like many survivors of the post-election violence in 2007-8 that claimed at least 1,100 lives here, Oduor feels that justice has not been done because no senior politician has been held to account. He therefore refuses to join in the state-sponsored euphoria around Barack Obama’s “homecoming” to Kenya, which begins on Friday night when Air Force One lands in east Africa’s biggest economy.

It will be Obama’s first visit to the land of his father as US president and a far cry from a 1988 trip when his luggage got lost. He will be greeted by the stars and stripes flying all over the capital, Nairobi, and giant billboards and paintings bearing his face with slogans such as “Welcome home”. Last-minute beautification projects include the painting of street kerbs and planting of flowers and grass, while 10,000 police officers will protect the honoured guest.

Yet beneath the shiny surface lies a political minefield. Obama, ostensibly here to address the Global Entrepreneurship summit, will also meet some of Africa’s most divisive politicians in both Kenya and neighboring Ethiopia. Human rights organizations are lining up to demand that, along with championing security alliances and economic development, he should raise hard questions about democracy and civil liberties.

Kenya’s president, Uhuru Kenyatta, was, at the time of his election in March 2013, facing trial at the international criminal court for his alleged role in the 2007-8 killings. The case has since been withdrawn owing to lack of evidence after prosecutors accused the Kenyan government of harassing and intimidating potential witnesses. Kenyatta’s deputy, William Ruto, is still awaiting trial at The Hague. (Read more from “Welcome Home: Kenya Ready for Obama” HERE)
