Safety is always a priority, even in a state where the largest city has a population of less than 300,000 people. Living in an unsafe town can be a deal breaker for many families and since Alaska is made up of so many different towns, it’s always nice to know what some of the safest places to live really are.
According to the FBI crime rates from 2013, a little outdated but still mostly accurate, these are the 5 safest cities to live in in the state of Alaska.
1) Sitka
With a population of 9,093 there were only 7 violent crimes, 21 burglaries, and 1 report of arson in 2013! Not too bad at all.
2) Palmer
Palmer has a population of 6,453, the same as Bethel, with only half the amount of violent crimes, 20 to be exact, and 13 reports of burglary. (Read more from “Here Are the Safest and Most Peaceful Places to Live in Alaska” HERE)

By WND. Is America headed for an economic collapse?
If so, presidential candidates are remaining eerily quiet about what’s being described as “a huge disaster waiting to happen.”
The U.S. stock market is on the verge of a massive collapse, warned David Stockman, OMB director during the Reagan administration, on CNBC’s “Futures Now” program. He said the recent price action has him even more convinced than ever that the bottom is about to fall out.
Stockman believes the excessive monetary policy from central banks around the world has created a “debt supernova,” and all the signs point to “the end of the central bank enabled bubble,” which could cause a worldwide recession.
In fact, he said, there’s no way to roll back the artificially inflated bubbles the Federal Reserve has caused. (Read more from “GOP Stars Tight-Lipped on ‘Huge Disaster Waiting to Happen'” HERE)
Economic Reality Now Catching up to Market Fantasy
By Brandon Smith. In the mind of a schizophrenic person, internal elements of fantasy (negative and positive) are made manifest in the psyche and projected out onto the real world. Often, the daydream images of the mind are not merely images to them. Rather, what they imagine subconsciously becomes reality. Their faculties of observation become so limited, either due to a reaction to trauma or merely an inherent inability to cope, that they cannot decipher between fact and fiction. A person could go on like this for quite some time if all his needs are provided for by someone else. But the moment that support ends (and it will), the realities of necessity, not to mention supply and demand, take hold. One cannot live in a schizophrenic world indefinitely.
The current global mishmash of interdependent and socialized economies are, at bottom, schizophrenic. Our markets are not based in any fundamental reality. There is very little tangible foundation left to stand on, and this has been the case for several years. Yet some people might argue that since the derivatives crash of 2008, most of the world has continued to walk on air.
The power of fantasy is that it is self-perpetuating. Fantasies are fueled most commonly by misplaced hopes and unhealthy or unrealistic desires, and such things are darkly and grotesquely energizing. Fantasies can indeed keep economies around the world functionally alive even when they are clinically dead. But again, there is always an end.
Equities and commodities markets in particular have levitated despite economic fact that their fall will be ever more spectacular. That fall has now begun halfway through 2015 . . .
New signals of market crisis are generating every two to four weeks as we grind on toward the third quarter. This is in stark contrast to the heavily predictable market behavior of the past three years. I realize that we are experiencing a “slow boil” and that many people may not even be taking note of the exponential increase in negative economic signs, but really think about it: At the beginning of 2014, what was the general financial sentiment compared to today? Hillary Clinton’s presidential polling numbers have taken a dramatic hit with the very demographic that was expected to lift her to the Democratic nomination and onward to the White House: white women.
A new Wall Street Journal/NBC poll reveals that Clinton’s approval among white women has dropped precipitously in a very short time, tanking by double-digit percentage points in a single month.
“In June, 44% of white women had a favorable view of Mrs. Clinton, compared to 43% who didn’t,” WSJ reports. “In July, those numbers moved in the wrong direction for Mrs. Clinton: Only 34% of white women saw her in a positive light, compared to 53% who had a negative impression of her, the poll found.”
The report describes the poll numbers as “a worrisome development” that puts Clinton at a profound disadvantage: having to play catch-up with a segment of the voter base that was supposed to be an assured win.

Believe it or not, Planned Parenthood has a Clergy Advocacy Board. And these clergy, in name only, claim Planned Parenthood employees are “doing God’s work.”
The Board released a statement (which has since been taken off of Planned Parenthood’s website) in response to what they describe is a Center for Medical Progress (CMP) “smear campaign” (planned-parenthood-clergy-advocacy-board-releases-response-to-smear-campaign”).
The video recordings expose Planned Parenthood employees discussing their enthusiastic efforts to illegally sell aborted baby parts. Some include whole baby bodies from partial birth abortions. One purchaser is Stem Express, “a multi-million dollar company that supplies human blood, tissue products, primary cells and other clinical specimens to biomedical researchers.”
Federal and state laws outlaw direct sales of body parts for profit. However, companies like Stem Express circumvent the law by donating to Planned Parenthood and only charging customers interested in purchasing specific fetal tissue and body parts for “processing and shipping fees.”
Buying and selling fetal tissue and baby parts is an enormously profitable business. Fetal tissue provides “a uniquely rich source of stem cells” that university laboratories and medical research facilities buy for a variety of purposes. Fetal liver cells, for example, range in price from $488 to $24,250.
Last year, the National Institutes of Health spent $76 million on research using fetal tissue—through grants it gave to more than 50 universities. Grant recipients included Columbia, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Yale and several branches of the University of California (Berkeley, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco).
As a result of CMP’s videos, more than 12 states and two U.S. House of Representative committees have launched investigations into Planned Parenthood’s practices. Recent efforts to halt federal funding of Planned Parenthood were derailed by Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. Senate.
While the Advocacy board members (listed below) claim to be “faith leaders committed to justice, honesty, and liberty.” Their utmost concern, they emphasize, is “the decades-long campaign of harassment against Planned Parenthood and those they serve.” Harassment over what—dismembering babies or Planned Parenthood’s commitment to eugenics?
The board members write, “Our faiths demand care for those marginalized by poverty and other oppressions. Faith leaders have supported Planned Parenthood for nearly 100 years because of our shared goals: every person — regardless of income, race, or religion — deserves access to safe, affordable, high-quality health care.”
Yet, faith in what? Faith according to the Bible asserts no such thing. In fact, it is well known among Jews and Christians that killing a pregnant woman is considered a double homicide requiring legal justice (Exodus 21:22-25). Shedding innocent blood is condemned throughout the Bible also requiring legal justice (Deut. 19:10; 1 Sam. 19:5; Psalm 94:20-21; Proverbs 6:16-17; Isaiah 59:2-7).
Even Common Law and the U.S. Constitution illegalized abortion. The Founders specifically inserted “unalienable rights” knowing that human rights came from God alone, not manmade laws, because God authored every life in the womb (Job 31:15; Psalm 22:9-10; Isa. 44:2; 49:5; Jeremiah 1:4-5; Luke 1:15).
Their “shared goal” that every person have “access to affordable high-quality health care” is nonsensical. How can dead people receive such access?
They also mischaracterize Planned Parenthood as an indispensable provider of “high-quality care.” Yet, Planned Parenthood’s own records reveal it as a profit centered abortion business, not a healthcare provider. Its own 2013-2014 annual report figures reveal that 94 percent of Planned Parenthood’s “pregnancy services” were abortions.
The advocacy board also purports a blatant lie: that abortion providers offer “the best of what religious traditions do.” Yet, the “best of religious traditions” have always promoted life-giving efforts that contribute to human flourishing. Christians were the first to found hospitals, schools, orphanages and later adoption and foster parenting services—to help people live—because they understand God’s directive to “choose life” (Deut. 30).
Christian faith demands that every person—regardless of income, race, or religion— deserves the right to live. The Planned Parenthood clerics are not among them.
Planned Parenthood Advocacy Board Members support death over life and everything that the God of the Bible and Christianity do not. God’s work involves saving babies, not killing and selling them.

You think you’ve heard this story before. A young, unarmed man is shot to death by a police officer. Black activists are outraged. The only difference with this scenario is that the young man was not black, but white.
Nineteen-year-old Zachary Hammond was on a date July 26 when he was fatally shot by a police officer while in parking lot at a Hardee’s fast-food restaurant in Seneca, South Carolina, according to Eric Bland, the attorney representing the teen’s family.
The Seneca Police Department said the officer was conducting a drug investigation and shot Hammond in self-defense.
“He was a uniformed officer, he was in a marked vehicle, was out of his vehicle on foot approaching the suspect vehicle — weapon drawn given it was a narcotics-type violation,” Seneca Police Chief John Covington said to CNN affiliate WHNS in Greenville. He added that the officer is now on administrative leave . . .
Tori Morton, 24, who was on the date with Hammond, was arrested on charges of simple possession of marijuana. An incident report from Seneca police said that Morton was the target of the police investigation. (Read more from “South Carolina Officer Shoots Unarmed White Teen During Pot Bust” HERE)

By Kyle Olson. It’s suffice to say there are at least two women who support Donald Trump for president.
A duo of black women — hosting a YouTube “show” called “The Viewers View” — eviscerated Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly for her questions related to Trump’s statements on Twitter concerning women.
Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson produced, “Megyn Kelly and that Damn Debate,” today:
“Okay, so it’s a day after the debates and you all know I am mad as hell,” Hardaway began. “Somebody already tried to come for Donald, so I’ve got to come for them.”
Hardaway objected to Kelly’s opening question to Trump, asking him to respond to comments he made on Twitter towards Rosie O’Donnell. (Read more from “Watch This Viral Video of Black Women Defending Donald Trump, Giving Megyn Kelly a Piece of Their Minds” HERE)
‘Mess With the Bull, You’re Going to Get the Horns, Sweetheart’: Trump Iowa Campaigner Says ‘Bloodgate’ Attack on Megyn Kelly Was ‘Fair Game’
By Kieran Corcoran. A Donald Trump official leading his political campaign in Iowa has said his attacks on Fox News host Megyn Kelly are ‘fair game’.
Tana Goertz, his campaign co-chair in the battleground state, said that she was not offended by Trump’s suggestion that Kelly asked him tough questions because there was ‘blood coming out of her wherever’.
Goertz instead said the abuse is part of political debate, saying: ‘If you mess with the bull you’re going to get the horns, sweetheart’.
Trump’s comments, made Friday night in a CNN segment where he also called her a ‘lightweight’ and ‘overrated’, were widely interpreted as a crude reference to Kelly’s menstrual cycle . . .
Goertz, whose association with Trump began when she appeared on season three of The Apprentice, told BuzzFeed News that she was ‘not offended’ by the statement, and does not think it is about her period. (Read more from this story HERE)

By Shawna Thomas and John Lapinski. If Donald Trump’s comments about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly are hurting his standing in the Republican primary, it’s not showing in the numbers.
According to the latest NBC News Online Poll conducted by SurveyMonkey, Trump is at the top of the list of GOP candidates that Republican primary voters would cast a ballot for if the primary were being held right now.
The overnight poll was conducted for 24 hours from Friday evening into Saturday. During that period, Donald Trump stayed in the headlines due to his negative comments about Kelly and was dis-invited from a major conservative gathering in Atlanta.
None of that stopped Trump from coming in at the top of the poll with 23 percent. Sen. Ted Cruz was next on the list with 13 percent.
During the Fox News debate Thursday evening, Trump was the only Republican candidate to say he would not rule out a run as an independent candidate. According to this poll, that’s just fine with over half of his supporters. 54% of Trump supporters said they would vote for him for president, even if he didn’t win the GOP nomination. About one in five Trump supporters said they would switch and support the eventual Republican candidate. (Read more from “Poll: Donald Trump Still in the Lead After Debates” HERE)
GOP Leaders Say Erratic Attacks Hurt Trump, but He Vows to Fight and Win
By Philip Rucker and Robert Costa. Republican leaders who have watched Donald Trump’s summer surge with alarm now believe that his presidential candidacy has been contained and may begin to collapse because of his repeated attacks on a Fox News Channel star and his refusal to pledge his loyalty to the eventual GOP nominee.
Fearful that the billionaire’s inflammatory rhetoric has inflicted serious damage to the GOP brand, party leaders hope to pivot away from the Trump sideshow and toward a more serious discussion among a deep field of governors, senators and other candidates.
They acknowledge that Trump’s unique megaphone and the passion of his supporters make any calculation about his candidacy risky. After all, he has been presumed dead before: Three weeks ago, he prompted establishment outrage by belittling the Vietnam war service of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), only to prove, by climbing higher in the polls, that the laws of political gravity did not apply to him.
Still, Trump’s erratic performance during and after the first Republican presidential debate last week sparked a backlash throughout the party Saturday and a reassessment of his front-running bid. The final straw for many was Trump’s comment on CNN late Friday that Fox moderator Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.), a fellow candidate, said Trump was jeopardizing the GOP’s chances of winning back the White House and urged party leaders to stop “tiptoeing” around him. (Read more from this story HERE)

At what point does the millennial generation wake up and realize that their love affair with the Democratic Party has been one-sided? While the Democrats have benefitted enormously from millennials’ overwhelming support of their brand in national, state and local elections, the affection has gone unrequited. Granted, the Democrats talk a big game about the youth of America, but it’s what they’re actually doing to younger Americans that matters. In nearly every significant policy arena the modern, far-Left Democratic Party is pushing policies that will undoubtedly jeopardize the futures of young Americans working hard to make a better tomorrow.
Conservative activist, former Reagan administration official, and nationally-syndicated radio host Mark Levin’s new book Plunder and Deceit is a thorough examination of the ideological and legislative assault on young Americans. The book uses extensive data points and a second-to-none analysis to make the case that the modern Democratic Party’s allegiance to liberal ideology on the social front, and to tax-and-spend economics on the fiscal front, is selling out young Americans. It is a must-read for young Americans who are looking to escape the Democratic Party’s deceptive, focus group tested talking points and looking to find the truth. Additionally, the book is a must-read for Americans of all ages who want to understand, and be able to explain to open-minded young Americans, the danger we are in if we fail to correct our course.
What is perhaps most disturbing about this disconnect between what the modern Democratic Party says to young Americans, and what it does to them, is that it’s not simply that the Democrats are failing to help the youth in our society, but that they are deliberately harming them. After reading Levin’s book and being reminded of the grave economic future being created by the Obama administration, their congressional allies, and weak-knee’d Republicans too cowardly to fight back, I wonder where young Americans think the money to pay off the growing national debt, which is equal to the value of everything the country produces, is going to come from? There is no significant difference between annual deficits, accumulated government debt, and taxes coming out of your pocket, absent the time preference. And the modern Democratic Party prefers to burden young Americans with the debt and spending they are accumulating right now, rather than to govern responsibly, due to their continued quest for the consolidation of government economic power. This allegiance to the broken economics of unsustainable government debt, is not just failing to provide young Americans with the promised “hope and change,” but it is unquestionably doing significant damage to the potential prosperity of young Americans hoping for a bright economic future.
Facts matter and the facts are not on the side of the modern Democratic Party. The laws of both arithmetic and economics dictate that all debts both public and private must be paid. Those debts are either paid by the debtor, who fulfills his obligation to pay back the debt, or the creditor, who unwillingly pays the debt himself when he fails to receive the money he loaned back from the debtor. There is no third way, these are the only options. With these hard facts in mind, it’s clear there are only a couple of options for young Americans going forward if we do not begin to control the federal government’s profligate spending. The first option for young Americans is a future of confiscatory tax rates so high that they will choke off any chance that they can live economically prosperous lives in an increasingly shrinking private sector future. Our unsustainable and growing national debt, with its entitlement promises and grim discretionary spending outlook, will strangle private sector opportunity in favor of public sector thievery.
The second option is just as disturbing for young Americans. The federal government can simply ignore its accumulated debt obligations and fail to repay its creditors, both foreign and domestic. This disastrous scenario would destroy the economic credibility of the world’s greatest supporter and dramatically increase the cost of debt in the future. Young Americans need to understand that this means that their car loans, their home loans, their credit card interest rates, and any other attempt to finance their lifestyles, or their futures, with debt will be dramatically more expensive than it was for their parents. You can thank the big spenders in elected positions in our government for this disparity between what your parent’s lifestyle was, and what yours is going to be.
Yes young America, you are being screwed, big time. It’s easy to make the faux “tough choices” to pile on government debt today, when cowardly politicians, and their silent opposition, anchor the costs of those “tough choices” to my children and yours, who will pay for them for decades.
For the sake of the country and its future, I am hoping that Levin’s book becomes the centerpiece of a long overdue national discussion about what our real “priorities” are as a nation. I refuse to accept that the greatest country in the history of mankind, when confronted with the hard facts in Levin’s book, will choose the route of a profligate present, and a bankrupt future for their children, rather than a responsible present and a prosperous future. Former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson broke his silence as the one year anniversary of the shooting death of Michael Brown approaches.
Wilson, who now lives more-or-less in exile in a St. Louis suburb, sat down for a lengthy interview with New Yorker Magazine and discussed issues such as race relations and the fallout in his life from that fateful day, August 9, 2014 . . .
The former Ferguson officer told The New Yorker that he had not read the Justice Department’s report on racism in Ferguson. “I don’t have any desire,” he said. “I’m not going to keep living in the past about what Ferguson did. It’s out of my control” . . .
The New Yorker’s Jack Halpern reports:
Later that night (after the shooting)…they turned on the television and watched live coverage of unrest in Ferguson. Barb recalled, “We stayed up all night watching, like, ‘Oh, my God—what’s going on? What are they doing?’ Barb’s younger son, who was then six, asked why there were images on television of Ferguson burning. Wilson told me, “I said, ‘Well, I had to shoot somebody.’ And he goes, ‘Well, why did you shoot him? Was he a bad guy?’ I said, ‘Yeah, he was a bad guy…’”
Halpern asked Wilson if he “thought Brown was truly a ‘bad guy,’ or just a kid who had got himself into a bad situation. ‘I only knew him for those forty-five seconds in which he was trying to kill me, so I don’t know,’ Wilson said.” (Read more from “Darren Wilson Just Broke His Silence on Ferguson, Drops This Truth Bomb” HERE)

A federal cleanup crew accidentally caused a big, and potentially hazardous, mess in Colorado, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
An estimated 1 million gallons of wastewater spilled out of an abandoned mine area in the southern part of the state on Wednesday, turning the Animas River orange and prompting the EPA to tell locals to avoid it . . .
According to the EPA, the spill occurred when one of its teams was using heavy equipment to enter the Gold King Mine, a suspended mine near Durango. Instead of entering the mine and beginning the process of pumping and treating the contaminated water inside as planned, the team accidentally caused it to flow into the nearby Animas River. Before the spill, water carrying “metals pollution” was flowing into a holding area outside the mine.
The EPA began testing the Animas River for hazardous materials on Thursday. EPA spokesperson Lisa McClain-Vanderpool said the agency hoped to have preliminary information available throughout Friday and Saturday. Until then, it is not known what the orange, acidic mess might mean for water users and the river’s ecosystem.
Officials said they believe the spill carried heavy metals, mainly iron, zinc and copper, from the mine into a creek that feeds into the Animas River. From there, the orange water plugged steadily along through the small stretch of winding river in southern Colorado and across the state border to New Mexico where the Animas meets the San Juan River. The EPA said it will continue to sample water downstream from the mine until the contamination has passed and it determines there are “no additional concerns for aquatic life or water users.” When asked if the spill could affect drinking water, the EPA spokesperson said she did not yet know.
