US Warns North Korea Over Nuclear Plant ‘Provocation’

_85550498_hi003128714The US has warned North Korea to refrain from “irresponsible provocation” after the communist state said its main nuclear facility had resumed normal operations.

The reactor at Yongbyon has been the source of plutonium for North Korea’s nuclear weapons programme.

The White House said North Korea should “focus instead on fulfilling its international obligations”.

The reactor was shut down in 2007 as part of a disarmament-for-aid deal.

But Pyongyang vowed to restart it in 2013, following its third nuclear test and amid high regional tensions. (Read more from “US Warns North Korea Over Nuclear Plant ‘Provocation'” HERE)

Kathleen Willey Slams Hillary’s New Sex Assault Survivors Ad [+video]

HILLARY-CLINTONHillary Clinton believes victims of sexual assault have “a right to be believed.” Except, of course, if the accusations are made against her husband and could complicate her political aspirations.

In Clinton’s new web ad, titled “Hillary’s Message to Survivors of Sexual Assault,” the candidate claims: . . .

But that’s a very different message Kathleen Willey received in 1993 when she accused Hillary’s husband, President Bill Clinton, of sexually assaulting her.

“She believed what happened for sure,” Willey tells The American Mirror. “She just chose to ignore the plight of all of his victims, thus enabling him to continue to abuse and rape women in the future.”

Willey adds, “She’s a money-hungry hypocritical witch who will do anything for money. (Read more from “Kathleen Willey Slams Hillary’s New Sex Assault Survivors Ad” HERE)

Watch: Iran Just Spit in Obama’s Face With This Stunning Video Threat- Will He Respond?

Obama_APIran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei continued his heated, anti-U.S. social media campaign on Sunday by releasing a video promising death and destruction to American forces if any military action is taken against his country.

On Sunday, the Iranian leader tweeted the link to a video entitled, “If any war happens.”

The video opens by quoting President Obama from an interview he gave assuring those who have any doubts about the Iran nuclear agreement that the military option is always on the table. “We could knock out their military with speed and dispatch, if we chose to,” said Obama.

An image of the White House appears next with the Ayatollah’s voice in the background stating, “A U.S. official has said that he can destroy Iran’s army. I do not want to say anything more in this regard.”

The video then depicts two cowboys, apparently representing the United States, with an Iranian fighter in the foreground pulling a knife on them. Khameni says, “Our predecessors used to call such statements, ‘boasting among strangers.’”

Next, the video shows images of Iran’s military arsenal, which it has at its disposal to attack U.S. naval and ground forces. (Read more from “Watch: Iran Just Spit in Obama’s Face With This Stunning Video Threat- Will He Respond?” HERE)

Another Country Is Refusing to Take More Syrian Refugees

refugee-crisis-transit-670x499By Kenneth Chan. Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative government has no plans to drastically increase the number of Syrian refugees permitted to resettle in Canada.

During a Q&A session on his Facebook page this morning, Harper maintained that a thorough security screening process is needed for each refugee being considered entry given the risk that a terrorist could slip through.

“The situation in Syria and Iraq is troubling. Laureen and I were touched, just like all Canadians, at the pictures from last week,” Harper wrote on Facebook. “But, to help we must ensure we screen every potential refugee carefully.”

“We have been clear that we are willing to take more people, but we must be sure we are helping the most vulnerable. We cannot open the floodgates and airlift tens of thousands of refugees out of a terrorist war zone without proper process. That is too great a risk for Canada.”

The security screening used by the federal government includes the use of a time and labour-intensive biometric system, which will be expanded to the visa applications of all tourists, students, immigrants, migrant workers and refugees by 2018. Mexico Opening Door to Syrian Refugees

By Brandon Darby. Prominent Mexican officials are calling on their president to open the doors for 10,000 Syrian refugees, though thousands of Mexicans per year are fleeing their cartel-controlled nation and its violence and seeking asylum in the United States. The move comes on the heels of Mexico accepting 30 Syrian students. Other nations south of the porous U.S.-Mexico border have already opened their doors for people fleeing the Middle East.

Considering the Mexican government’s inability to govern its own territory and the willingness of Mexican officials to accept cash bribes, one could question whether their screening process would exclude potentially dangerous individuals. Even in the case of an individual being identified having a connection to a terrorist organization, a wealthy benefactor or ally of the individual could simply pay off a decision-maker and get the individual through.

An article posted by the GlobalPost.com built a case for Mexico opening the doors for Syrians. They wrote:

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — Mexico has a proud history of welcoming refugees fleeing war and persecution around the world . . .

Senators of all political stripes on Thursday implored President Enrique Peña Nieto and his government to allow in as many Syrian refugees as possible.

Post Alleging Center City Starbucks Refused to Let Police Sergeant Use Restroom Goes Viral

24905278_BG1A downtown Philadelphia Starbucks is at the center of controversy this weekend after a Facebook post alleging that an employee of the coffee shop refused to allow a uniformed Philadelphia Police sergeant use the restroom went viral.

The post, which does not identify the sergeant involved, says he walked into the Starbucks at 13th and Chestnut streets and asked to use the restroom, for which a key code is required. The employee, according to the post, “State[d] in a loud voice … that the bathroom is for paying customers only.” The post goes on to say that the sergeant asked politely to use the restroom anyway, and that the Starbucks employee declined to grant access.

Officer Joe Leighthardt, who knows the sergeant, was the first to share his fellow officer’s post about the incident, which happened Thursday or Friday of last week. Leighthardt said he personally has been to that Starbucks location several times on calls for service, but never as a customer.

“I didn’t intend for it to go viral,” Leighthardt said, adding that most people who have responded to the post have been supportive.

In reply to Leighthardt’s post on Starbucks’ official Facebook page, Starbucks wrote in part, “We are aware of this situation, and it is certainly not in line with the experience we want any of our customers to have in our stores. We are taking all necessary steps to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.” (Read more from “Post Alleging Center City Starbucks Refused to Let Police Sergeant Use Restroom Goes Viral” HERE)

This Is the Huge Name That’ll Replace the Donald- Here’s What Trump Had to Say

donald-trump-better-thumb1According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice will not die with the exit of its larger-than-life host. Donald Trump, who left the lucrative gig to pursue the Republican presidential nomination, took a break from the campaign trail to congratulate his successor.

NBC executive Paul Telegdy announced actor-turned-politico Arnold Schwarzenegger’s addition to the popular franchise as a “powerful new chapter” for Apprentice fans. “Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business,” he continued, “and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves.” Telegdy noted that the action star is excited to continue in the tradition established by Trump and Mark Burnett, the series’ executive producer. Burnett explained that Trump “made it clear” he wanted the show to continue in his absence, particularly for the charitable donations it has facilitated. “Gov. Schwarzenegger,” he concluded, “will use his vast and highly successful business, political and media experience to drive this hit franchise to new heights.” The new host released a statement, explaining that he has “always been a huge fan” of the program. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity,” he said. “Let’s get started!” The topic was a popular one on Twitter, where users speculated on issues such as the new host’s catchphrase. Trump’s iconic send-off – “You’re fired!” – has transcended the series to become a recurring theme of his surging presidential bid.

Kentucky County Clerk Continues to Defy Supreme Court on First Day Back at Work

kimdavis090115By MICHELE RICHINICK. After being jailed for refusing to issue gay marriage licenses, Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis returned to work on Monday morning with the same message: She won’t authorize the legal documents to same-sex couples.

Speaking before 8 a.m. ET, Davis said she will continue to defy the U.S. Supreme Court by not issuing gay marriage licenses, because otherwise she would be going against her religious beliefs. “For me, this would be an act of disobedience to my god,” she told reporters.

She did, however, leave it open for her deputies to continue issuing the legal documents to same-sex couples, as long as her name and title don’t appear on the licenses. None of the licenses, Davis said, “will be authorized by me.” Instead, the documents will read, “pursuant to a federal court order,” she said. Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis Goes Back to Work

By Tribune News Service. A Kentucky county clerk announced Monday that she would not interfere with her office granting marriage licenses to same-sex couples, ending, for now, a confrontation that put her behind bars for five days for defying a federal judge.

As she returning to her office Monday, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis read a statement saying she would not interfere with her deputies issuing the licenses, but would not personally authorize any marriage licenses to any same-sex couples.

“I don’t want to have this conflict. I don’t want to be in the spotlight. And I certainly don’t want to be a whipping post,” Davis said during televised remarks. “I am no hero. I’m just a person that’s been transformed by the grace of God, who wants to work, be with my family. I just want to serve my neighbors quietly without violating my conscience.”

District Judge David L. Bunning earlier this month surprised many by sending Davis to jail for contempt after she failed to follow his order to issue marriage licenses to all couples, including gays.

On Sept. 8, the judge found that her deputies had issued the licenses, so the contempt citation was cleared and Davis was let out of jail with a sharp warning that if she interfered in the issuance of the licenses, she would be returned to a cell. Now Arriving: Airport Control Towers With No Humans Inside

Passengers landing at remote Ornskoldsvik Airport in northern Sweden might catch a glimpse of the control tower – likely unaware there is nobody inside.

The dozen commercial planes landing there each day are instead watched by cameras, guided in by controllers viewing the video at another airport 90 miles away.

Ornskoldsvik is the first airport in the world to use such technology. Others in Europe are testing the idea, as is one airport in the United States. While the majority of the world’s airports will, for some time, still have controllers on site, experts say unmanned towers are coming. They’ll likely first go into use at small and medium airports, but eventually even the world’s largest airports could see an array of cameras mounted on a pole replacing their concrete control towers. Penn State Removes Bibles From Hotel Rooms After Atheists Say They Encourage ‘Killing Nonbelievers,’ Gays

Penn-State-BiblePenn State has removed Gideon Bibles from hotel rooms after a complaint from the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) accused the Bibles of advocating the killings of nonbelievers.

“The bible [sic] calls for killing nonbelievers, apostates, gays, ‘stubborn sons,’ and women who are not virgins on their wedding nights,” FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor said in a statement last week. “What is obnoxious in a private hotel, however, becomes inappropriate and unconstitutional in state-run lodgings.”

A spokesperson from the university has confirmed to Campus Reform that the Bibles have been removed from individual guest rooms following an inquiry from FFRF earlier in the summer.

“The decision to remove Bibles from individual guest rooms was made following questions from the Freedom From Religion Foundation,” Lisa Powers, director of strategic communications at Penn State told Campus Reform in an email. “It raised our awareness and we took the opportunity to review our hotel practices. We wish to be respectful of all religions, and also of those who have differing beliefs, yet we still want to make the publication available to those who desire to read it while staying with us.”

FFRF claims in their statement that Penn State officials confirmed to them that the Bibles have been removed from the two university-run inns, but Powers confirmed to Campus Reform that the Bibles can still be found by guests in public areas.
