No Criminal Charges for Former IRS Official Lois Lerner

The Justice Department won’t charge Lois Lerner, a former Internal Revenue Service official, over Tea Party groups’ applications for tax-exempt status, closing a nearly 2 1/2-year investigation with a determination that IRS officials bungled the matter but committed no crimes.

“Our investigation uncovered substantial evidence of mismanagement, poor judgment and institutional inertia, leading to the belief by many tax-exempt applicants that the IRS targeted them based on their political viewpoints,” Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik wrote to Congress on Friday. “But poor management is not a crime.”

The announcement ends a major phase of the IRS controversy, angering Republicans and Tea Party activists who had pressed for prosecutions.

When the matter first erupted, it prompted bipartisan outrage and accusations that the IRS and Obama administration had pursued a vendetta against conservative groups. The truth proved to be more complex, and the investigations appear not to have revealed any direct involvement by White House officials.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee who is poised to become speaker of the House, said the Justice Department’s decision was a “deeply disappointing” response to what he called the “serious and unprecedented actions” taken by Ms. Lerner. One of the Largest Drug Tunnels Between U.S. And Mexico Found in California

Authorities seized 12 tons of marijuana and arrested 22 people after discovering one of the longest cross-border tunnels between the U.S. and Mexico, officials said Thursday.

The passage connecting warehouses in San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, was about 2,400 feet long and 30 feet deep. It was lit, ventilated and equipped with a rail system – hallmarks of the most sophisticated tunnels found along the border.

Near-simultaneous police stings on Wednesday resulted in six arrests in San Diego and 16 in Mexico. Authorities recovered two tons of marijuana in the U.S. and 10 tons in Mexico. (Read more from “One of the Largest Drug Tunnels Between U.S. And Mexico Found in California” HERE)

City of Sodom Discovered, ‘Consistent With Biblical Story’

By Fox News. The ruins of the biblical city of Sodom reportedly have been discovered by U.S. archeologists in southern Jordan.

God punished the wickedness of the citizens by destroying the city with brimstone and fire, the biblical story explains. Only the righteous inhabitants were allowed to escape the destruction and were spared by God.

The archeological team, directed by Steve Collins of New Mexico’s Trinity Southwest University, has been working for 10 years in the Jordan Valley. It now believes it has uncovered this magnificent historical site.

If confirmed, the discovery could give the archeological community an invaluable understanding of how people lived during between 3500 BC and 1540 BC.

And perhaps most interestingly, the excavations are revealing that life in the city came to an abrupt end during the Middle Bronze Age (2000-1540 BC), seemingly consistent with the biblical story. Preliminary tests reveal there was a stark end of life that lasted for about 700 years. (Read more from “City of Sodom Discovered, ‘Consistent With Biblical Story'” HERE)

Sodom Possibly Destroyed by an Asteroid

By Victoria Woollaston and Sarah Griffiths. The Old Testament story describes how God destroyed the ‘wicked sinners’ of Sodom with fire and brimstone but allowed Lot, the city’s one good man, to flee with his family. . .

[The city that archaeologist Steven Collins discovered includes a] rampart system that would have required millions of bricks and hundreds of workers, showing a demonstration or organization and technology.

Evidence also suggests the ruined city had gates, towers, a main road and squares.

Dr Collins said the city was abandoned at the end of the Bronze Age, perhaps following an earthquake, but other experts have suggested an asteroid may have been to blame. . .

‘It became an uninhabited wasteland for over 700 years but then, after those seven centuries, it started to flourish again – as indicated by the huge iron gate that leads into the city,’ he said. (Read more from this story HERE)

Many Hispanics Agree: Trump’s Immigration Policies Aren’t All Hogwash

Polls indicate that support for Donald Trump is plateauing while key challengers like Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Marco Rubio are quickly gaining ground.

If this trend continues and Trump flames out, the Republican establishment shouldn’t simply dismiss his candidacy as a fad. There are lessons to be learned from Trump’s unexpected popularity. The most important one is that there is broad support for some components of his immigration platform, even among Hispanics . . .

Polls show that many Hispanics agree with Trump that illegal immigration is a huge problem. The eventual GOP nominee should, of course, reject the divisive, inflammatory language Trump and his supporters have often used to make the case for reform. But there are smart policy ideas buried under all that rhetoric. They ought to be incorporated into the official party platform.

A recent poll by SurveyUSA shows that Trump commands the support of 31 percent of Hispanics. That’s not only a higher share than Mitt Romney received in 2012 — it’s also more than Republican George H.W. Bush received in 1988 when he won the general election.

Most Hispanics aren’t single-issue voters when it comes to immigration. A recent Gallup poll found that among registered Latino voters, 67 percent are at least willing to support a candidate who doesn’t share their views on immigration. And 18 percent don’t consider the issue important at all. (Read more from “Many Hispanics Agree: Trump’s Immigration Policies Aren’t All Hogwash” HERE)

Why It Matters That Carter Says Iraq Raid Isn’t Combat, Then Says It Is

An American soldier has died in Iraq as a result of the U.S. intervention to support Iraqi forces fighting the Islamic State. It’s the first loss of an American service member since the fight against ISIS began, and the first combat death in Iraq since 2011. U.S. special operations forces operating in Iraq in what Pentagon officials say was a supporting role took part in an Iraqi operation to free Iraqi hostages, including members of the Iraqi Security Forces. After more than 70 hostages were freed, 39-year-old Master Sgt. Joshua Wheeler, a veteran of 14 official combat deployments and doubtless several other less-official trips into danger, died of his gunshot wound.

His death has raised the question of how an American could have died in combat when America, at least according to President Barack Obama and his national security leaders, is not at war.

“We have this capability. It is a great American strength,” Carter said Friday at the Pentagon of special operations raids like the one this week. But he insisted those raids are not the same as the U.S. military “assuming a combat role.”

“Americans are flying combat missions, thousands of combat missions, over Syria and Iraqi territory. There are Americans involved in training and advising Iraqi security forces around the country. We do not have combat formations there the way we had once upon a time in Iraq, or the way we have had in years past in Afghanistan,” Carter said.

Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook had been blunter on Thursday: “Our mission in Iraq is the train, advise and assist mission. This was a unique circumstance…This was a support mission in which they were providing support to the Kurdistan Regional Government. U.S. forces are not in an active combat mission in Iraq.” (Read more from “Why It Matters That Carter Says Iraq Raid Isn’t Combat, Then Says It Is” HERE)

Obama Vetoes $612 Billion Defense Bill in Rebuke to GOP

President Barack Obama vetoed a sweeping $612 billion defense policy bill Thursday in a rebuke to congressional Republicans, and insisted they send him a better version that doesn’t tie his hands on some of his top priorities.

In an unusual Oval Office ceremony, Obama praised the bill for ensuring the military stays funded and making improvements on armed forces retirement and cybersecurity. Yet he pointedly accused Republicans of resorting to “gimmicks” and prohibiting other changes needed to address modern security threats.

“Unfortunately, it falls woefully short,” Obama said. “I’m going to be sending it back to Congress, and my message to them is very simple: Let’s do this right.” (Read more from “Obama Vetoes $612 Billion Defense Bill in Rebuke to GOP” HERE)

ISIS Threatens to Kill Jews Across the World in Disturbing New Video

This worrying video shows an ISIS militant threatening to kill Jews across the world.

The terror group posted the clip on YouTube showing a militant dressed in army fatigues wearing a balaclava . . .

He says: “We assure you that soon there will not be a single Jew left on Jerusalem and throughout the country” . . .

The militant backs the attacks in Jerusalem, saying: “soon there will not be one Jew left in Jerusalem.”

It comes after reports that around 30 British-born Islamic State (ISIS) fighters have reportedly returned home to wage war on the UK. (Read more from “ISIS Threatens to Kill Jews Across the World in Disturbing New Video” HERE)

Disturbing: Female Teacher Sends 2,400 Texts to 11-Year-Old Girl Begging Her to Do This

A former teacher has admitted trying to tempt an 11-year-old girl in her class to run away with her, it was reported.

Geraldine Alcorn became obsessed with the child and exchanged over 2,400 text messages in the space of two weeks early last year, police reportedly said . . .

Alcorn was caught when the girl’s mother found the text messages on her daughter’s iPhone.

She also found a ring binder with notes which read “Things Ms. Alcorn and I can do,” “What we can do” and “When we can do it”, WPXI reported.

Police said she left gifts and letters in the girl’s desk and locker when she cleared out her things from Beechwood Elementary School days later. (Read more from “Disturbing: Female Teacher Sends 2,400 Texts to 11-Year-Old Girl Begging Her to Do This” HERE)

Oklahoma Earthquakes Are a National Security Threat?

In the months after Sept. 11, 2001, as U.S. security officials assessed the top targets for potential terrorist attacks, the small town of Cushing, Okla., received special attention. Even though it is home to fewer than 10,000 people, Cushing is the largest commercial oil storage hub in North America, second only in size to the U.S. government’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The small town’s giant tanks, some big enough to fit a Boeing 747 jet inside, were filled with around 10 million barrels of crude at the time, an obvious target for someone looking to disrupt America’s economy and energy supply.

The FBI, state and local law enforcement and emergency officials, and the energy companies that own the tanks formed a group called the Safety Alliance of Cushing. Soon, guards took up posts along the perimeter of storage facilities and newly installed cameras kept constant surveillance. References to the giant tanks and pipelines were removed from the Cushing Chamber of Commerce website. In 2004, the Safety Alliance simulated a series of emergencies: an explosion, a fire, a hostage situation.

After the shale boom added millions of additional barrels to Cushing, its tanks swelled to a peak hoard of more than 60 million barrels this spring. That’s about as much petroleum as the U.S. uses in three days, and it’s more than six times the quantity that triggered security concerns after Sept. 11. The Safety Alliance has remained vigilant, even staging tornado simulations after a few close calls . . .

This is all part of the disturbing rise in earthquakes in Oklahoma, which has corresponded to increased fracking activity and oil production in the state. Since 2008, Oklahoma has gone from averaging fewer than two earthquakes per year that measure at least 3.0 in magnitude to surpassing California as the most seismically active state in the continental U.S. This year, Oklahoma is on pace to endure close to 1,000 earthquakes. Scientists at the National Earthquake Information Center in Colorado recently published a paper (PDF) raising concerns that the welter of moderate-sized earthquakes around Cushing could increase the risk of larger quakes in the future. Watch: Terrified White Students Barricade Themselves in Classroom as Hundreds of Black Activists Violently Demand This

The nonsensical propaganda that blacks cannot be racists should be clear to anyone. People of a variety of ethnicities can be racists. However, a recent video that was captured by a student in South Africa demonstrates that there are out of control blacks there just as we have seen here in the States. In fact, in the video below, you see a class or white students barricading themselves in the classroom as racist black activists demand they get out or they will be killed.

According to the post, which appeared on SA News Facebook page:

Terrified White Students Barricade Themselves in Classroom from Hundreds of “activated” Racist Blacks shouting “All white people get out or else we will kill you” – guess the blacks got the message when the President of the country, Zuma, sings “Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer” on a public podium…

The video was produced by Cape Town student Anne Landman, which shows a group of white students had barricaded themselves in a classroom against hundreds of black rioters outside and posted on October 20. She explains on her FB page:

“So this happened. I stopped filming before things got out of hand as we were scared they would damage property, which they did. Hundreds of rioters outside those doors,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “People were cornered and taunted. Some of our students were beaten up for trying to keep the doors closed. The doors are now broken. They stormed in with balaclavas on, shouting horrible things in our direction.” (Read more from “Terrified White Students Barricade Themselves in Classroom as Hundreds of Black Activists Violently Demand This” HERE)
