Ivanka Trump’s RNC Dress Sells out in One Day

During the introduction of her father Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention Thursday night, Ivanka Trump said from a young age she was taught to dream big. She said her father would often remind her, “Ivanka, if you’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big.”

It appears she has also taken to thinking outside the box, as the night of the convention she chose to wear a department store dress she designed herself, rather than an expensive item chosen by a stylist.

The dress is described on the Macy’s department store website as the “Ivanka Trump Sleeveless Studded Sheath Dress,” and is “sophisticated” for “both social and professional occasions.”

According to the Independent Journal, the dress was selling for $138 dollars from Macy’s but since the writing of this article, the dress is no longer available online, apparently sold-out after news broke of Ivanka’s style available at the department store.

Western Journalism confirmed after contacting a Macy’s representative that indeed the dress has completely sold out, presumably from the RNC appearance.

By contrast, Hillary Clinton’s wardrobe reflects price tags out of touch with most Americans. The Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign attire reportedly runs into the tens of thousands of dollars per outfit and has a total value of over 200 thousand dollars. Foreign Phrase on Bill Clinton’s Lapel Pin Sparks Speculation

With the national media’s attention fixated on the Democratic National Convention being held this week, reports from Philadelphia touched on virtually every aspect of the quadrennial party gathering. While an overarching theme of disunity — punctuated by Tuesday’s mass walkout by Bernie Sanders supporters — dominated most of the coverage, less-consequential topics also received some attention. One subject addressed by multiple outlets and regarding at least two prominent DNC attendees is the meaning behind unusual lapel pins.

Lapel pins, often of the U.S. flag variety, have long been a staple of the American politician’s wardrobe. In 2007, then-candidate Barack Obama’s refusal to wear a flag pin led to one of the first controversies of his presidential campaign.

Ahead of the 2016 election, straying too far from the norm on this issue is clearly still cause for media scrutiny.

Former President Bill Clinton on Wednesday was subject to inquiries about his pin shortly after he arrived to watch Vice President Joe Biden’s address. The Forward’s Nathan Guttman shared a Twitter photo of the blue and white pin, which sparked some discussion regarding its potential significance.

“I know it’s Hebrew,” one commenter wrote, “but I can’t make out the letters. Tovah?”

A short time later, a representative of the National Jewish Democratic Council offered some clarity. Steve Rabinowitz explained both he and NJDC Chairman Marc Stanley gave Clinton one of the pins prior to Wednesday evening’s scheduled events. The lapel embellishment reads “Hillary” in Hebrew.

“He said he’d wear it,” Rabinowitz recalled of his encounter with the former president, “but I didn’t know whether or not to believe him and certainly didn’t think he’d do it tonight.”

Hillary Clinton’s running mate also received some interest in his choice in lapel pin. Though some critics initially suggested Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine’s adornment depicted the Honduran flag, it was actually the Blue Star service flag to honor his deployed son, Nat, who is currently serving in the Marine Corps. Leaked Emails Indicate Democrats Cozy With NBC News’ Chuck Todd

NBC News political correspondent and Meet The Press host Chuck Todd has come under fire for emails he reportedly received from the Democratic National Committee’s Chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Wikileaks released the alleged hacked email on Friday.

In it, Schultz writes Todd to discuss a news story by Morning Joe’s Mika Brezinski whereby Brezinski called on Schultz to resign over perceived unfair treatment of Bernie Sanders by Schultz and the DNC.

Schultz titled her email to Todd in the subject line which read, “Chuck, this must stop.”

The head of the DNC voicing outrage over an unflattering news story, and calling Todd by his first name was all critics needed to connect their own dots and come to the conclusion the NBC anchorman was in bed with the DNC and Hillary Clinton. And they took their concerns over the relationship to social media.

Worse yet, the email seems to suggest the DNC employed pressure on the press to censor future news stories which would target the DNC, and the chairwoman specifically.

“Chuck. See below. I would like to discuss this with you today. Can you reach out to Luis (Miranda) to schedule a call? Thanks,” Wasserman wrote Todd on May 18.

And in a more demanding tone, Schultz wrote Luis regarding the news story by Brezinski, “This is the LAST straw. […] This is outrageous. She needs to apologize.”

Todd responded to the criticism, reportedly telling Mediate, “I think it’s clear what it was. Someone complaining about coverage…something that happens daily from every campaign we interact with.”

And in a tweet, Todd responded…

Miranda then passed along his boss’ concerns to Todd and requested the information be sent to the Morning Joe staff. Miranda wrote that Wasserman “talked in very positive terms about both of our candidates,” adding, “No one wrote or rewrote any rules to help or hurt any specific candidate, these are the Party rules.”

At issue was the use of superdelegates pledged to Clinton before the Democratic primaries began. (For more from the author of “Leaked Emails Indicate Democrats Cozy With NBC News’ Chuck Todd” please click HERE)

DNC Mocks Rule of Law, Showcases Love Affair With Illegal Immigration

At this point, the Democrat Party is flagrantly pouring salt in a wound that has barely any room left to receive it, all in the name of the “American dream.”

Speaking at the first night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Francisca Ortiz and Astrid Silva, illegal aliens currently permitted to continue living in the United States as a result of Obama’s DAPA and DACA executive amnesty programs addressed the crowd to shame American citizens who simply want their own laws enforced.

“Valiente, brave. That is what Hillary Clinton called me when I was worried my family would be deported,” said Ortiz’s daughter Karla, who was born in Las Vegas. “My parents came here looking for a better life for the American dream.”

“My family believed so deeply in the promise of this country that we risked everything for the American dream,” added Silva just a few moments later.

Once again, the open borders crowd substitutes “risking everything for the American dream” for “breaking federal law to cross America’s border without the consent of the American people.”

Ortiz and Silva are here illegally, strictly speaking. And federal immigration law (8 USC 1324, to be exact) SHOULD also implicate anyone who knowingly assisted in transporting them from Nevada to Pennsylvania and helped pay for their hotel rooms. But this is open borders America, where the laws are ignored and the Constitution doesn’t matter.
Ortiz and Silva were solely able to speak at the convention partly because of the Obama administration’s executive amnesty program, and the fact that they left one sanctuary city in Las Vegas to speak at another in Philadelphia.

While conservatives were actually thrown a judicial bone with June’s DAPA/DACA ruling last month after a split Supreme Court upheld the injunction of the Fifth Circuit it should be noted that the ruling only effectively applied to the Fifth Circuit and that Americans are playing a failed, rigged game if they ever expect the courts to enforce immigration law on a consistent basis.

But, digression aside, what the Democrat party trod out were yet two more impassioned arguments against the Constitution and American sovereignty.

One of the trademarks of a Republic is the ability of the body politic to make decisions for itself through laws passed by elected officials. Per the United States Constitution, decisions regarding who is permitted to enter the body politic and how they are allowed to do so is held by the United States Congress, and this shouldn’t be subject to emotional arguments. Laws matter.

Under the current administration, this has been little more than a farce, as shown by the lawless actions of President Obama and his gratuitous use of the “pen and phone” whenever a duly elected Congress doesn’t do what he and his open borders cronies want them to.

Now, to set the tone of what could be the next four-to-eight years of the American executive branch, the Democrat party has shown that they only plan to continue and expand these sorts of gross and lawless practices, parsing out American sovereignty all in the name of the “American dream.”

This should, however, come as no surprise whatsoever to the average voter who has already watched Hillary Clinton skirt prosecution for the “extremely careless” mishandling of classified information on her private email server while secretary of state, and the laundry list of other political scandals with which she and her husband have been associated.

The oath of office for the President of the United States proscribed by the Constitution states that the incoming officeholder will “solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” To do so would mean to “take care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”

The Democrat party can’t seem to help but thumb its nose at Constitutionally enacted immigration law, even if that means brazenly defying it on the national convention stage. If anything, tonight’s speaker list just goes to prove that the Clinton campaign merely wants to take care that the laws are flagrantly mocked and summarily ignored. Trump and Bernie: Where have the ‘outsiders’ gone?

After Monday night the outsider narratives pushed by the Sanders and Trump campaigns during the primaries have finally both fizzled out into establishment coziness.

After months of railing against their respective party establishments, both populists have now started working together with those same establishments in order to forge something resembling party unity going into the election.

After thanking the bare minority of his supporters in attendance, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-V.T.), made it very clear that it’s time for everyone to get in line behind the presumptive Democrat nominee.

“Let me be as clear as I can be. This election is not about, and has never been about, Hillary Clinton, or Donald Trump, or Bernie Sanders or any of the other candidates who sought the presidency,” the former Democratic candidate at the party’s national convention in Philadelphia Monday night.

“This election is about which candidate understands the real problems facing this country and has offered real solutions … By these measures, any objective observer will conclude that – based on her ideas and her leadership – Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the United States.”

At a convention that already looks more divided than the RNC could have ever appeared on national television, the Democrat elite are already running around with their hair on fire in order to keep calm among a still-tremendously fractured base.

The protests are already bigger in Philadelphia than in Cleveland, and a few days after her cheeky tweet to RNC Chair Reince Priebus, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was booted from party leadership position after a slew of emails from inside the DNC revealed, among several other things, an internal plot to sink the Sanders campaign, despite the façade of neutrality that the party tried to put up for months.

But it doesn’t look like the Clinton Sanders rift is going to heal up that quickly, at least on the convention floor, as Sanders’ endorsement seemed to be the first mention of the former Secretary of State that didn’t draw an audible mix of boos and cheers.

At several points during the night, the mention of the presumptive nominee and her selected running mate drew loud, sustained boos from Sanders supporters throughout the program. During Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-N.J.) speech, Bernie supporters chanted “war hawk, and they also shouted “we trusted you” and eventually erupted into long, sustained boos at Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) after she endorsed Clinton onstage.

Bernie even tried to quell his still-devout followers on Monday afternoon. Against the chants of protestors saying “we want Bernie,” the senator raised his hand in the air and said to the crowd, “brothers and sisters, this is, this is the real world that we live in.”

“Trump is a danger for the future of our country and must be defeated … And I intend to do everything that I can to see that he is defeated.”

On the GOP side, unity seems more of a demand than an appeal. The past two weeks in Cleveland put Donald Trump’s current collusion with the Republican establishment on full display as well. As evidenced by everything from the combined whipping efforts on the rules committee that eventually ensured that there would be no roll call vote and that the RNC would retain its current level of authority over the grassroots, or having whips tell delegates to boo Ted Cruz onstage, the New York real estate developer’s outsider narrative from the Republican party now seems like a distant memory from the primary election.

In this context, Ted Cruz is the only “outsider” candidate from the primary season who can still claim a scrap of street cred at this point in the cycle. By refusing to endorse Donald Trump in Cleveland last week and encouraging voters to vote their conscience, the Texas Senator managed to earn the respect of grassroots conservatives and those conscionably incapable of supporting the Republican nominee, as well as the seemingly unforgiving ire of those demanding party unity solely for the sake of beating Hillary Clinton.

And the backlash for the Texas Senator is still rolling out days after his Wednesday speech. In addition to short term damage to his image in the polls among Republicans, he’s now having to deal with allegations against his father on an even grander scale than before.

Donald Trump doubled and tripled down on his comments about the Senator’s father two days after the conscience speech, and even the RNC Chair Priebus and DNC communications director Luis Miranda have gotten in on the fun, both, in some way, defending Trump’s speculation on the subject.

And now even some of Cruz’s donors are distancing themselves in light of the convention speech.

The establishment strikes back, hard; stay in line, or else.

But this is the realm of party politics, where yesterday’s outsider is tomorrow’s company man, yesterday’s insurgency is tomorrow’s game of “rally ‘round the candidate,” and the establishment duopoly still reigns supreme. WATCH What Happens to Fox News Reporter When He Stands Right in the Middle of Democrat Protesters Mob

DNC protesters repeatedly chanted obscenities at Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters, forcing him to give up his reporting from the scene and walk away.

The video posted by Raw Story on its Facebook page Tuesday afternoon shows Watters at Philadelphia’s City Hall, site of some of the largest protests over the Democratic National Committee’s treatment of Bernie Sanders, as revealed by recently released hacked emails.

Watters can be seen trying to conduct an interview among hundreds of protesters, when many began chanting, “F— Fox News, F— Fox News…”

As the Fox News personality, who is a Philadelphia native, began to walk away, a new chant begins, “KKK Fox News…KKK Fox News….”

As reported by Western Journalism, Fox News has been on the receiving end of several insults and obscene gestures recently.

Earlier this month, two men passing by flashed their middle finger at the camera while Fox News senior political correspondent Carl Cameron was doing a live shot in front of Trump Tower in New York.

The act came one day after comedian D.L. Hughley appeared on The Kelly File and stated, “The only place racism doesn’t exist is Fox News and the police department. That’s absolutely true.”

“That’s insulting,” host Megyn Kelly responded. “You just insulted millions of people watching this channel.”

“And I’m insulted by the things I hear on this network, so we’re even,” Hughley fired back. “I could care less about insulting people that insult me on a daily basis.”

That same second week of July, Black Lives Matter protesters surrounded a Fox News reporter in Minnesota, with some yelling at him to “get the f— out of here” and one threatening to “knock his a– out.”

A woman nearby joined in: “Shut the f— up! The press is just as bad as the police!”

Another woman at that event also accused the Fox correspondent of being racist and siding with the police. “That’s who you are working with!” she said, adding, “He is part of the white supremacy. You are a disgrace to journalism! You are a white supremacist!” (For more from the author of “WATCH What Happens to Fox News Reporter When He Stand Right in the Middle of Democrat Protesters Mob” please click HERE)

OPEN BORDERS: Democrats Build Massive Four-Mile Long Fence Around Their Convention

Just as Hillary proved that laws are for the little people and that guns should be reserved only to protect Democrat elites, it turns out that security walls are also for your betters.

To the Democratic National Committee elites, keeping average Americans away from their convention is a good idea, while protecting the southern border from intruding terrorists, rapists and murderers is a bad one.

The DNC has erected a four-mile fence around its convention site at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. (Isn’t it ironic they’re doing so much to protect a site named after a bank?)

The Democrat Party: the “D” stands for “Double Standards”. (For more from the author of “OPEN BORDERS: Democrats Build Massive Four-Mile Long Fence Around Their Convention” please click HERE)

Liberal Filmmaker Makes Presidential Election Prediction

Appearing on a special edition of Real Time with Bill Maher Wednesday, liberal filmmaker Michael Moore stunned the crowd with a prediction they likely did not expect.

Known best for left-wing documentaries like “Fahrenheit 911” and “Bowling for Columbine,” Moore, who has said he himself will vote for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, delivered a very unpopular opinion to the show’s decidedly liberal audience.

“I’m sorry to have to be the buzzkill here so early on, but I think Trump is going to win. I’m sorry,” he said to a chorus of boos.

Maher chimed in, agreeing with Moore, and warning fellow liberals that “the enemy is complacency.”

Moore, who is from the Midwest, believes that if Trump wins, it will be because of Middle America.

“I live in Michigan. Let me tell you: It’s going to be the Brexit strategy,” he said, referring to the UK’s decision last month to leave the European Union after 52 percent of 33 million voters voted to do so.

He continued, “To millions and millions of Americans, this was music to their ears. We’ve been sitting in our bubble, having a good laugh at this total s–t-show, but the truth is that this plays to a lot of people that he has to win to become the next president.”

Those millions, according to Moore, live in the swing states in the Midwest.

“The middle of England [equivalent] is Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania,” he said. “Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes. The total electoral votes of those four states in the Rust Belt: 64. All he has to do is win those four states.”

Moore said the idea of putting tariffs on imported cars was “music to people’s ears” during the Michigan primary.

These statements seemed to echo ones the filmmaker made at a press conference in London earlier in the day.

“He knows how to manipulate a dumbed-down population. The population of schools has been wrecked, and the news media is just insipid and stupid and doesn’t give the people the facts about what’s going on,” he said at the press conference.

He continued, “[Trump is] not as stupid as he looks. You should take it very seriously. He knows the manipulation that’s going on here, and the use of propaganda and the way he’s doing it is just brilliant in the way that he is succeeding and has succeeded.” (For more from the author of “Liberal Filmmaker Makes Presidential Election Prediction” please click HERE)

This Government Agency’s Cover-Up May Have Hindered US Cybersecurity

The Chinese government may have hacked into computers at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on multiple occasions between 2010 and 2013, according to a congressional report.

The report describes various instances of in which current or former FDIC employees inadvertently downloaded sensitive data to portable storage devices, which were later removed from the office. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, chairman of the U.S. House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, described the FDIC’s cybersecurity efforts as “lax” and asserted that “major improvements need to be made to the FDIC’s cybersecurity mechanism.”

The interim report was issued last Wednesday by the Republican majority of the U.S. House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.

However, the report’s most serious accusation addresses the organization’s handling of the hacks. According to the report, the FDIC not only failed to report major hacks, but also actively worked to “evade congressional oversight” during the congressional investigation.

The FDIC’s attempts to avoid congressional oversight included the organization’s top lawyer instructing employees not to discuss the hacks via email. The FDIC’s chief information officer at the time, Russ Pittman, also called on employees not to discuss the hack. The FDIC’s efforts were apparently an effort not to jeopardize current Chairman Martin Gruenberg’s impending congressional confirmation in 2012.

According to a source close to the investigation, the servers that were targeted indicate the hackers were seeking “economic intelligence.” These accusations follow the hacking of the Office of Personnel Management last year, which saw Chinese hackers obtain the personal records of 22 million current and former government employees.

In September 2015, the United States and China agreed not to engage in corporate cyber espionage and established a joint dialogue to discuss cybercrime. A report by FireEye cybersecurity firm indicated a decrease in Chinese cyber corporate espionage hacking since mid-2014. However, the report also claims Chinese cyberattacks were becoming much more targeted and aimed at specific infrastructure.

The FDIC’s concealment of major data hacks between 2010 and 2013 is worrisome and highlights a continued detriment to U.S. cybersecurity. Cyberspace is incredibly dynamic and the sharing of information is critical in combating cyberattacks. The FDIC’s failure to notify Congress at the time of these major data breaches may have left other agencies vulnerable to similar Chinese cyber espionage attempts. Coast Guard Plots Long-Term Strategy for Increasingly Important Arctic

The inhospitable Arctic could become a major area of contention between world powers in the coming decades. As new passages open it, it is up to the U.S. Coast Guard to ensure safe lines of shipping through those perilous waters.

This August, the Crystal Serenity, an 820-foot long luxury cruise liner with 13 decks and 1,000 passengers, will sail from Anchorage, Alaska, to New York City. In an unprecedented feat, the Serenity will get there by taking a route that up until very recently has barely been navigable: the Northwest Passage.

With Arctic sea ice receding, the Serenity’s course is a harbinger of challenges to come, a wave of tourist and merchant traffic traveling through an increasingly accessible Arctic, and Arctic nations have little ability to ensure their safety.

To deal with these rapid changes and future Arctic activity, Arctic nations are stepping up their maritime security efforts in the waters of the High North. The representatives of each Arctic nations’ coast guards gathered in Connecticut in June for one of the first meetings of the Arctic Coast Guard Forum. With its unprecedented levels of coordination, the new forum hopes to chart a shared vision of a secure and cooperative Arctic.

Cooperation in the Arctic will be key for the U.S., as its own capabilities to operate in the harsh environment are currently lacking.

The Coast Guard has minimal presence in the Arctic and will be challenged to carry out large-scale search and rescue operations there if an accident occurs. The primary vessels answering such a call—icebreakers—are often days or weeks away depending on the location of the incident, and the Coast Guard has long argued that its icebreaker fleet is far smaller than it requires in the polar regions. Even if there were enough icebreakers, the U.S. does not have a deep-water port in the Arctic where it could base them.

This need for greater coordination led the U.S. and fellow Arctic nations to launch the Arctic Coast Guard Forum in October 2015. The forum expands on the role of the Arctic Council, which does not discuss military affairs in the Arctic but whose members have entered into agreements on incident response.

In the coming years, the forum will be responsible for dealing with several growing Arctic issues such as maritime security, promoting economic freedom and prosperity in the region, and dealing with its largest and most assertive member, Russia.

The forum’s most basic goal is to improve its ability to cohesively employ different nations’ resources to ensure maritime security in the Arctic. This will require a great deal of information sharing and training exercises among Arctic nations to coordinate incident response efforts, as well as commitments from each member to improve its Arctic infrastructure. This will make shipping, natural resource extraction, commercial fishing, and tourism safer and more reliable.

Since the forum is inherently security-focused (though not militarily), it is uniquely positioned to foster dialogue with Russia where other channels of communication have grown tense or have been cut in recent years.

The need for Arctic security dialogue with Russia has become increasingly important in recent years, as Russia has been rapidly militarizing its Arctic territory. Russia established a new Arctic military command, staged massive unannounced exercises with its Northern Fleet, and has been opening Arctic bases not used since the Soviet Union. These concerning actions introduce a hard security component to what could have simply been Arctic safety issues. The forum will hopefully provide a new way to address these concerns.

Predictions of larger-scale maritime activity in the Arctic have not yet materialized, but it is crucial that the U.S. Coast Guard be proactive today so that America will be prepared for what future its northern territory might hold. No nation is fully ready for increased Arctic activity, but with its responsibilities in mind, the Arctic Coast Guard Forum is a step in the right direction.
