Christian Businessman Refuses to Serve Transgender “Woman,” Faces Backlash

A Christian business owner wouldn’t print business cards for a transgender woman who demanded his services, saying that doing so goes against his Christian values and beliefs.

After a transgender diversity consultant, Joanne Lockwood, asked Nigel Williams to print business cards to advertise his “SEE Change Happen” firm, Williams refused, according to the Independent. He said he did not feel comfortable offering his services to promote a firm that gives companies advice on transgender inclusion, equality, and diversity and that doing so goes against his religious convictions.

“The new model of diversity is used (or misused) to marginalise (or indeed discriminate against) Christians in their workplaces and other parts of society if they do not subscribe to it,” Williams wrote in an email replying to Lockwood’s request for business cards. “Although I’m quite sure you have no intention of marginalising Christians, it would weigh heavily upon me if through my own work I was to make pressure worse for fellow Christians,” he added.

“I was not expecting a lecture. I disbelieved this could happen in 2017… I have been the victim of some discrimination,” Lockwood told the Independent, describing her reaction to Williams’ email. (Read more from “Christian Businessman Refuses to Serve Transgender “Woman,” Faces Backlash” HERE)

Taliban Hostage’s Ex-Wife Has Al-Qaida Ties, Once Justified 9/11

Former Taliban hostage and Canadian citizen Joshua Boyle’s ex-wife’s father and brother had deep connections to al-Qaida and Osama Bin-Laden.

Boyle’s ex-wife Zaynab Khadr is the daughter of Ahmed Said Khadr and brother of Omar Khadr. Her father Ahmed was a veteran of the Afghan war in the late 1980s against the Soviet Union and is thought to have been a founding member of the al-Qaida terrorist group. His son, Omar was captured by U.S. forces during a firefight and spent 10 years in Guantanamo bay.

Omar was infamously granted a multi-million dollar settlement from the Canadian government for his detention despite admitting to killing a U.S. soldier in combat.

Boyle was married to Zaynab for approximately one year. He and his current wife Caitlin Coleman along with their three children were rescued by Pakistani Security Forces from the Taliban after nearly 5 years of captivity Wednesday . . .

Of the 9/11 attackers she said, “I don’t think whoever did that really wanted to kill all these people, or to kill people who had nothing to do with anything. But he really wanted to hit the American government where it will hurt it,” adding: “I mean sometimes innocent people pay the price … The Iraqis who hated Saddam are being killed nowadays for I don’t know for what reason, although they hated Saddam and they probably had nothing against the states and they are still dying for it. Most of the time innocent people are paying the price.” (Read more from “Taliban Hostage’s Ex-Wife Has Al-Qaida Ties, Once Justified 9/11” HERE)

A recently-released research study sheds light on the values of white working-class voters in the United States and the reasons these voters strongly supported Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election . . .

Open Society Foundations, a network of political organizations controlled by left-wing billionaire George Soros, funded the study . . .

Mexico’s Vicente Fox Trolls Trump, Announces ‘2020 Run’ for White House

As President Trump takes to Twitter to assail foes and tackle trolls, he can add another nemesis to his list: former Mexican President Vicente Fox.

Fox, 75, who served as president of Mexico from 2000 to 2006, has launched a mock 2020 presidential campaign against the sitting U.S. president. In a series of anti-Trump tweets and videos, Fox addresses myriad issues affecting the American people.

In a video released Sept. 7, Fox, calling Trump “last year’s rotting Halloween pumpkin,” says: “Donald, every time I make fun of you, which I do a lot, people say, ‘Why can’t you be our president?’ America, I feel your pain. We all do. And that is why today I am proud to announce my candidacy for president of the United States.”

The five-minute video opens with Fox wearing a hat with a vulgar expression, features him holding up his middle finger at times and introduces his campaign mascot: a goat wearing two signs: “Vicente for Presidente!” and “A taco truck on every corner!” The clip also shows a mariachi band crooning about Trump. Arizona Restaurant Closes Following Backlash From Its Pro-Trump Facebook Post

An Arizona restaurant was forced to close its doors indefinitely this week after a politically charged Facebook post the eatery’s owners wrote prompted mass criticism from social media users.

Christopher Smith and Jay Warren, the owners of Cup it Up American Grill in Tucson, posted a statement on the restaurant’s social media page last week with a list of things the two support and resent, including the president, kneeling for the anthem and late night hosts, Vice News reported.

The post stated: “We believe in and support 100% in the following: OUR President, Always Standing for the National Anthem, repealing Obama Care…”

Army Sacks General for Sexy Texts to Wife of a Sergeant

The Army has sacked a two-star general who sent flirty messages to the wife of an enlisted soldier at his post in Italy, including one in which he referred to the woman as a “HOTTIE.”

Maj. Gen. Joseph Harrington until last month had commanded U.S. Army Africa from his post in Europe. USA TODAY first reported about the Facebook messages, triggering an inspector general’s investigation, Harrington’s suspension and now his firing.

Harrington’s dismissal was “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command,” Army Col. Patrick Seiber, a spokesman, said in a statement. “The Army has been investigating allegations related to Maj. Gen. Harrington’s communications with the spouse of an enlisted soldier; however, since the review of the investigation is still ongoing, we can provide no further comment at this time.”

Harrington’s removal is likely a career-killer for an officer whose future had seemed bright. He had been a top aide to the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Gen. Martin Dempsey. (Read more from “Army Sacks General for Sexy Texts to Wife of a Sergeant” HERE)

Government Lawyers Ask Judge to Block Release of Comey Memos

Government lawyers want a federal judge to block the release of memos written by former FBI Director James Comey about his conversations with President Trump, claiming that disclosing the documents would be “detrimental” to an investigation into Russian interference in the presidential campaign as well as an ongoing obstruction of justice probe.

The attorneys made the argument in a court filing submitted late Friday in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed for the Comey memos by several news organizations, including The Daily Caller News Foundation, CNN, and USA Today.

The lawsuit sought the release of all of the memos that Comey wrote following his encounters with President Trump. Comey, who was fired by Trump on May 9, has testified that he wrote the memos following in-person meetings and phone conversations with Trump.

Just after his ouster, Comey gave a memo he wrote on Feb. 14 — just after the firing of national security adviser Michael Flynn — to a friend with instructions to leak it to The New York Times. Comey says he wrote in that memo that Trump asked him to shut down an investigation into Flynn. (Read more from “Government Lawyers Ask Judge to Block Release of Comey Memos” HERE)

George Lopez Booed off Stage After Trump Jokes Flop

Comic George Lopez was booed off stage at a gala for juvenile diabetes in Denver last week, over an anti-Donald Trump routine that fell flat with the crowd.

We’re told the flap began when Trump backer and Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei donated $250,000 but requested that Lopez cool it with the anti-Trump jokes at the Carousel Ball . . .

We’re told that Lopez responded to Maffei, “Thank you for changing my opinion on old white men, but it doesn’t change the way I feel about orange men.”

Trying to recover and sensing the audience turn, Lopez said, “Listen, it’s about the kids . . . I apologize for bringing politics to an event. This is America — it still is. So I apologize to your white privilege.”

We’re told Lopez also told a joke about Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico, saying, “I guess you can get some Mexicans to do it cheaper and they wouldn’t crush the tunnels underneath.” (Read more from “George Lopez Booed off Stage After Trump Jokes Flop” HERE)

Rare North Atlantic Hurricane Heads for UK

Britain and Ireland braced Sunday for a lashing from Ophelia, the largest hurricane ever recorded so far east in the Atlantic Ocean, after it dumped heavy rains on Portugal’s Azores islands.

As the storm passed near the Azores archipelago on Saturday it was classed Category 3, which means it packed winds of at least 178 kilometres (110 miles) per hour.

Though cooler seas will weaken the storm as it churns towards the west coast of Ireland, it still has enough power to damage buildings and provoke “dangerous” sea conditions as well as potential flooding, Irish authorities said.

Meteorologists say Ophelia is the most powerful hurricane recorded so far east in the Atlantic and the first since 1939 to travel so far north.

It is the 15th named storm of the 2017 Atlantic season, which is expected to last until the end of November. (Read more from “Rare North Atlantic Hurricane Heads for UK” HERE)

Weinstein Brother Claims He Didn’t ‘Know’ Sibling Was Predator

The Weinstein Co. exec insists he had no idea about “the type of predator that he was” and is sickened by Harvey’s seeming lack of remorse. “I want him to get the justice that he deserves.”

For nearly 30 years, Bob Weinstein has lived in the shadow of his older brother Harvey Weinstein. While Harvey, 65, was the very public face of Miramax and then The Weinstein Company from Sundance to Cannes to Hollywood, palling around with stars and schmoozing Oscar voters, Bob, 62, has served on TWC’s board and tended to Dimension, their genre label, turning out movies like the Scream and Scary Movie franchises, that routinely made more money than all but Harvey’s biggest hits.

Now, in the wake of the dozens of allegations charging Harvey with three decades of sexual harassment, abuse and even rape, Harvey is out, fired from the company he co-founded with Bob in 2005. And Bob, thrust into an unaccustomed limelight, is forced to try to pick up the pieces amid the growing chaos. He insists that the company — which is expected to undergo a name change — can survive. But four of his fellow board members have resigned, and his COO David Glasser and other key members of his 150-employee staff have yet to commit to stay with the company. Amid widespread predictions that the Weinstein Co. will be forced to shut down or sell all or parts, he maintains, “There is a plan to come out on the other side.” (Read more from “Weinstein Brother Claims He Didn’t ‘Know’ Sibling Was Predator” HERE)
