FBI Director: Terrorist Drones ‘Coming Here Imminently’

FBI Director Christopher Wray warned Congress on Wednesday that terrorist groups are looking to use drones to wage attacks in the U.S.

“I think we do know that terrorist organizations have an interest in using drones,” Wray testified in a hearing for the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.

“We’ve seen that overseas already with growing frequency. I think the expectation is that it’s coming here imminently. I think they are relatively easy to acquire, relatively easy to operate, and quite difficult to disrupt and monitor,” Wray added.

Nicholas Rasmussen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center echoed Wray’s concerns.

“Two years ago this was not a problem. A year ago it was an emerging problem. Now it’s a real problem. So we’re quickly trying to up our game,” Rasmussen testified during the hearing. (Read more from “FBI Director: Terrorist Drones ‘Coming Here Imminently'” HERE)

By Susannah Cullinane, Euan McKirdy and Holly Yan. At least 50 people were killed in a mass shooting overnight on the Las Vegas Strip, police said, the deadliest in modern US history.

A hailstorm of bullets and the subsequent stampede left more than 200 people injured, officials said. The crowd was watching a concert by country music superstar Jason Aldean, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Monday morning.

The gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, was firing from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel, Lombardo said. Paddock was eventually killed by police. (read more about “Madman Slaughters Dozens” HERE)

Gunman Identified

By ABC13.com. Las Vegas Metro police identified 64-year-old Stephen Paddock as the gunman in the mass shooting. Police confronted Paddock on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino after the barrage of shots were fired Sunday night. He was killed by police.

Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Paddock is believed to be the lone shooter. Police said he lived in Mesquite, Nevada, which is located outside of Las Vegas.

Police also said they have located a person of interest, Marilou Danley, who was identified as Paddock’s roommate. . .

Among those killed were two off-duty officers attending the concert, said Lombardo. An officer working at the event was critically injured and another was wounded, according to the sheriff.

Police stated the city’s largest hospital, University Medical Center, is at capacity with other trauma units taking in the overflow. Fleeing attendees were also being picked up on buses and being sent to UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center arena for shelter. (Read more about the mandman slaughter HERE)

“You’re all going to die”

By Joe Barnes. One woman, who was at the Route 91 music event, claimed an unidentified woman had told other concert-goers they were “all going to die” after pushing her way to the front of the venue.

The witness, 21, told local news: “She had been messing with a lady in front of her and telling her she was going to die, that we were all going to die.

“They escorted her out to make her stop messing around with all the other people, but none of us knew it was going to be serious.”

She described the lady as Hispanic. The lady was escorted from the venue along with a man.

The unnamed witness, who was attending the event on her 21st birthday, described the pair as short, both around 5 ft 5ins to 5ft 6ins tall, and looked like “everyday people”. (more on the madman slaughter HERE)

7 Things You Need to Know About the West Point Communist Saga

The U.S. Army is probing a West Point graduate’s pro-communist posts on social media. His father has condemned his political views on social media, and this graduate’s West Point professor has now been placed on administrative leave.

If you haven’t been following the saga, you may be overwhelmed by trying to figure out “what exactly is going on?” Here are the facts:

1. His name is Spenser Rapone, and he is a communist.

This week, 2nd Lt. Spenser Rapone, a graduate of West Point Military Academy, posted pro-communist images on social media, including a picture of him holding up his military hat with the message “Communism will win” written inside, and another image revealing a Che Guevara shirt underneath his military uniform.

Rapone’s Twitter account, @punkproletarian, has been protected (with original tweets unavailable to view). Sunday, Rapone wrote #VeteransForKaepernick, expressing support for last weekend’s NFL anthem protests.

Monday, he clarified that he is indeed a communist, writing, “In case there was any lingering doubt, hasta la Victoria siempre” — the lyrics to a 1965 song by Cuban composer Carlos Puebla honoring communist revolutionary Che Guevara, who ran La Cabana, Castro’s prison for political opponents of communism.

2. The Army is investigating Rapone’s tweets

After public outrage at Rapone’s promotion of communism in uniform, the U.S. Army released a statement Tuesday saying “Second Lieutenant Rapone’s actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army.”

“As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform. Second Lieutenant Rapone’s chain of command is aware of his actions and is looking into the matter. The academy is prepared to assist the officer’s chain of command as required,” the statement said.

3. Rapone’s past statements may have violated military code

Rapone isn’t just in trouble for disrespecting the uniform of the U.S. military. In additional tweets, Rapone denigrated Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Vice President Mike Pence with vulgar insults.

Rapone referred to Sec. Mattis as “the most vile, evil fuck in the current administration” and to the vice president as “a fucking medieval, cold-blooded killer.” He’s also tweeted that he’ll “happily” dance on Arizona Sen. John McCain’s grave.

According to Jonah Bennett and The Daily Caller, Rapone’s statements have have violated Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which states: “Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

The maximum punishment for this violation is dismissal from the military, forfeiture of all military pay, and up to a year in prison.

4. Rapone’s father, an elected official, disavowed his son’s politics … and hinted those views have changed drastically

Rapone’s father is Lawrence County (Pennsylvania) Treasurer Richard Rapone. In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, the senior Rapone repudiated his son’s radical politics, expressing much disappointment in his son.

“I disavow his political views and overall politics,” he wrote. “I am very disappointed in the direction he has chosen and as his father it greatly saddens me.

He went on to write that his son was not always a radical communist and once was very patriotic.

“As a young man, Spenser personified patriotism and in high school was a member of the Civil Air Patrol,” he recounts. “He applied to be a West Point cadet and at that time he was not selected. He enlisted in the United States Army right out of high school. Later, he served as an Army Ranger and was deployed to Afghanistan on special mission. He applied once again to West Point and was accepted.”

“It’s my belief when he returned back from Afghanistan there was a notable difference in his political views,” Richard Rapone wrote. “Spenser is my son and I love him dearly however I do not like nor condone his politics, his actions or behavior.”

5. The congressman who nominated Rapone to West Point has also disavowed him

Former Pennsylvania Rep. Jason Altmire told The Daily Caller Wednesday he finds Rapone’s words “indefensible.”

“Several years ago, I met Spenser Rapone when he was a high school student seeking an appointment to West Point,” Altmire said. “At the time, he was an outstanding, well-rounded student who came from a good family. I have not been in touch with him in the years since the appointment, and I was shocked and extremely disappointed in the recent reports of his indefensible actions.”

“The behavior of 2nd Lieutenant Rapone is symbolic of a larger problem in our society — the epidemic of incivility in our public discourse,” Altmire continued. “While I strongly support the rights of American citizens to express their opinions, the actions of 2nd Lieutenant Rapone are abhorrent and appear to be in clear violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, in addition to being inconsistent with the values of the United States Military Academy. I have no doubt that the U.S. Army will take appropriate action.”

6. Rapone’s mentor at West Point is now on administrative leave

While attending West Point, Spenser Rapone was mentored by Rasheed Hosein, a professor of Middle East history, who is now on administrative leave for reasons unknown. Hosein holds a Ph.D in Islamic history from the University of Chicago. His biography on the West Point website lists Rapone as one of several “cadets advised.”

A West Point spokesman told Breitbart News that Hosein’s leave is unrelated to Rapone.

According to Breitbart News, photos from Rapone’s Facebook page indicate that in 2014, Rapone accompanied Hosein on a trip to the Taj Mahal. Breitbart News’ Kristina Wong writes, “a review of Rapone’s Facebook page shows that over time, since 2014, his posts became increasingly anti-racism, anti-Israel, pro-Muslim, pro-Communist, anti-military, and anti-police.”

7. A Democratic Socialists of America veterans’ group is coming to Rapone’s defense

2nd Lt. Rapone is a self-declared card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). A Twitter account for veterans associated with the DSA tweeted their support and “pride” in Rapone.

Still Alive? ISIS Releases Audio Recording of Reclusive Leader

The Islamic State group released Thursday an audio recording allegedly of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, dispelling rumors that he had been killed in battle.

The 46-minute recording was released by Al-Furqan news organization, marking the first time in nearly a year that Baghdadi’s voice has been broadcast to a public audience.

It is unclear exactly when the recording was made, but there is evidence that the message was recorded recently.

Baghdadi makes reference to recent events, including North Korea’s threats against the U.S. and the taking of Mosul by American-backed Iraqi forces, Reuters reported Thursday.

The recording, which was disseminated in Islamic State group chat rooms, begins with a narrator saying, “May Allah protect him.” This phrase is used as prayer for the living, New York Times correspondent and Islamic State group expert Rukmini Callimachi noted, indicating that Baghdadi was not killed as some previous reports had claimed.

Russian defense officials said earlier this year that Baghdadi might have been killed in an airstrike on Islamic State group commanders near Raqqa, Syria.

U.S. officials could not confirm the death, and Iraqi officials also remained skeptical. There were no photographs or other physical evidence of Baghdadi’s body.

Army Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, the commander of coalition forces fighting the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, expressed doubts in August that the Russians had killed Baghdadi.

“Do I believe he’s alive? Yes,” he said, according to Fox News.

Baghdadi no longer appears to be directing the day-to-day operations of the Islamic State group as it struggles to hold on to remaining territory in Iraq and Syria, Pentagon officials have said.

The recording appears to be an attempt to boost the morale of the Islamic State group fighters.

U.S.-backed forces drove them out of their stronghold in Mosul, Iraq, last month and the Islamic State group militants are on the verge of losing Raqqa.

A previous version of this story was published on The Daily Caller News Foundation website. (For more from the author of “Still Alive? ISIS Releases Audio Recording of Reclusive Leader” please click HERE)

‘BURIED BY ISLAM’ Leader Says the Weight of Immigration and the Rise of Islam Is ‘Burying British Culture’

THE weight of immigration and the rise of Islam is leading to British culture being “buried”, according to Ukip’s new leader.

Henry Bolton said there is a concern amongst people that their way of life is being “pushed aside”, and vowed to “address it” as he spoke to The Sun a day after his shock election.

The 54-year-old ex-Army officer had said he wanted to move the party away from focusing on Islam after their manifesto earlier this year contained an “integration agenda” which was almost entirely about Muslims.

And the issue had been brought back to the fore when the controversial anti-Islam campaigner Anne-Marie Waters was the favourite to win the leadership election.

Mr. Bolton, who pushed her into second place yesterday, signalled a softening stance on the issue when he spoke to the media, saying he had a “broad platform” and wanted to “move away from the focus on Islam”. Sex Change Regret: Gender Reversal Surgery Is on the Rise

Around five years ago, Professor Miroslav Djordjevic, the world-leading genital reconstructive surgeon, received a visit at his Belgrade clinic: a transgender person who had undergone surgery at different clinic to remove male genitalia – and since changed [his] mind.

That was the first time Prof Djordjevic had ever been contacted to perform a so-called gender reassignment “reversal” surgery. Over the next six months, another six people also approached him, similarly wanting to reverse their procedures. They came from countries all over the western world, Britain included, united by an acute sense of regret.

At present, Prof Djordjevic has a further six prospective people in discussions with his clinic about reversals and two currently undergoing the process itself; reattaching the male genitalia is a complex procedure and takes several operations over the course of a year to fully complete (at a cost of some €18,000).

Those wishing to reverse their gender reassignment, Prof Djordjevic says, have spoken to him about experiencing crippling levels of depression following their transition and in some cases even contemplated suicide. “It can be a real disaster to hear these stories,” says the 52-year-old. Las Vegas Police: Video Undercuts NFL Star’s Racism Claims

The Las Vegas police department released video footage on Friday which it says contradicts NFL star Michael Bennett’s claim that he was detained by officers last month because he is black.

Bennett, a defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks, was detained early on the morning of Aug. 27, after reports of shots being fired outside of the Cromwell casino. Bennett was in town for the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor boxing match.

After the incident, in which police were looking for a person who fired a gun, Bennett released a statement claiming that he was targeted by police because of his race. He also said that he one of the officers who apprehended him pointed a gun at his head warning that he “would blow my fucking head off.”

“The Officers’ excessive use of force was unbearable,” Bennett wrote in a Sept. 6 statement. “I felt helpless as I lay there on the ground handcuffed facing the real-life threat of being killed.”

But footage from a casino where the shooting occurred, along with police body cameras, showed that the officers were justified in apprehending Bennett, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said at a press conference on Friday. Black Conservatives List the Issues Football Players Should Actually Be Protesting Against

The Daily Caller News Foundation talked to three prominent black conservatives, Christopher Harris of Un-Hyphenated America, Antonia Okafor of the EmPOWERed movement, and singer Joy Villa, about the most serious issues in the black community football players should be shedding light on and what effect the protests have on the country.

“If they really want to protest something in the black community, they need to protest black on black crime. They need to protest the lack of education within their community. They need to protest single moms who are stuck on welfare for generations and keep having kids,” Villa told TheDCNF. “They need to protest that they can be sitting watching TV in their homes and stray bullets from gang violence can come into their home and murder them.”

Okafor also agreed that football players should be addressing issues like poverty in the black community and poor schools that don’t teach students the necessary skills to thrive in college or in the workforce.

“I think there are issues when it comes to the black community, like criminal justice reform. I’m a huge proponent of that. I think that it comes down to over-regulation and government,” Okafor said to TheDCNF, noting that groups like Black Lives Matter advocate for reform but tout people who call for more government. “The protests should be focused on that there is more poverty in the African American community, that a bigger percentage of us are in poverty. I’m living in Baltimore, and I see it everyday. Our schools are failing, and they don’t even know that they’re failing.” (Read more from “Black Conservatives List the Issues Football Players Should Actually Be Protesting Against” HERE)

Fellow Puerto Rico Mayor Rips San Juan Mayor — ‘She’s Not Participating in Any Meetings’

The mayor of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico cast serious doubt Saturday on the claims made by San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, who has repeatedly attacked President Trump and accused him of abandoning Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Guaynabo’s mayor, Angel Perez, said in an interview with The Daily Caller that his experience with the federal government has been different from Cruz’s, in part because — unlike Cruz — he has been participating in meetings with officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other federal agencies.

Cruz has repeatedly accused Trump and the federal government of abandoning Puerto Rico. She demanded in a press conference on Friday that Trump do more to help the island, adding that “we are going to see is something close to a genocide” if more is not done.

Mayor Perez told TheDC that the story Cruz is telling the media doesn’t mesh with what he has seen from the federal government.

“My experience is different. I have been participating in different meetings at the headquarters of FEMA and our government and the help is coming in and right now my experience is different from hers. I’m receiving help from the government, we are receiving assistance from FEMA, I got people over here helping us with applications for the people that have damage in their houses. And we have here in Guaynabo, we have thousands of people that lost partially or totally their houses,” said Perez, who is a member of Puerto Rico’s New Progressive Party. Ex-Bodyguard Eviscerates Hillary as ‘Rude, Obnoxious Fraud’

In a week full of political frustration, former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino is blasting Hillary Clinton for blaming racism and uninformed women for her defeat, NFL players for not standing for our national anthem, and the latest failure of Republicans to address Obamacare . . .

As Clinton makes the rounds promoting her new book on the 2016 campaign, Bongino says he is infuriated by Clinton’s attitudes towards those who did not support her. As an unsuccessful candidate in a very close race, Bongino says he knows how tough it is to lose, but he says Hillary is taking her frustration to a different level.

“Now it’s not that she lost and she’s blaming people. It’s that she lost because we’re all racists and women who voted for Trump are all unacceptable examples of females. It’s so personally condescending that I felt the need to tell people who Hillary really is,” said Bongino.

On Monday, Bongino tweeted, “I worked with Hillary. Hillary is an obnoxious, rude, condescending, fraud who cares about ONE thing-herself.” (Read more from “Ex-Bodyguard Eviscerates Hillary as ‘Rude, Obnoxious Fraud'” HERE)
