As his victims wept in a Michigan courtroom on Wednesday, disgraced long-time USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for abusing young female gymnasts who were entrusted to his care.
“I’ve signed your death warrant,” Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina told Nassar, following days of accounts from about 160 of his victims.
Spectators and victims cried, applauded and embraced as Nassar, 54, wearing a dark blue jailhouse jumpsuit, was led out of the courtroom. Rachael Denhollander, the first woman to publicly accuse him in 2016, shared a hug with Angela Povilaitis, the lead prosecutor.
After the sentence decision, the president of Michigan State University, where Nassar also worked, said she was resigning after facing a barrage of criticism for not doing enough to halt the abuse . . .
Nassar, who served as the program’s physician through four Olympic Games, apologized to his victims during the hearing, telling them, “I will carry your words with me for the rest of my days.” (Read more from “USA Gymnastics Doctor Gets 175 Years” HERE)

Deputies in a Texas county have settled a lawsuit brought against them for injuring a man who refused them permission for a warrantless search of his home after he told the officers the person they sought wasn’t there.
The deputies didn’t believe the homeowner, Huntly Dantzler, but it turned out he was right.
Before they discovered Dantzler was telling the truth, however, they handcuffed him, threw him to the ground and arrested for him refusing to give consent. The officers then coerced his wife, Susan Dantzler, to allow one of them to conduct the warrantless search.
After a judge ruled that at least some of the couple’s claims were valid and would require a trial, the deputies agreed to a settlement, the terms of which were not disclosed.
Earlier, a ruling from U.S. District Judge David Ezra left charges standing against the officers. (Read more from “Cops Settle Case After Injuring Man Who Refused Warrantless Search” HERE)

By PJ Media. There is serious talk on Capitol Hill about the appointment of a second special counsel amid several new bombshell revelations swirling around the Trump/Russia probe. First, there are the allegations of shocking and substantial government surveillance abuses under President Obama outlined in the FISA abuse memo. Secondly, the FBI lost five months of key text messages between the anti-Trump/pro-Clinton FBI officials Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page. And now there’s talk of a “secret society” of officials within the FBI that apparently met the day after the election of Donald J. Trump to plot against the president-elect.
The thousands of texts @TGowdySC and I reviewed today revealed manifest bias among top FBI officials against @realDonaldTrump. The texts between Strzok and Page referenced a "secret society."
Top Republicans now believe there may be real grounds for a second special counsel, Fox News reported Monday evening.
Reps. Devin Nunes (R-CA), Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and Bob Goodlatte (R- VA) met on Saturday to discuss the FISA memo and the text messages. On Monday, the trio put out the following statement:

FBI Official: FBI Agents Threatened Physical Harm to President Trump in Missing FBI Texts and Other “Frightening” Communications
By True Pundit. A high-ranking FBI official confirms a number of the missing 50,000 FBI text messages — as well as other text and email messages among FBI brass — reportedly discussed initiating physical harm to President Donald Trump.
The FBI official urged the U.S. Department of Homeland Security — which oversees the U.S. Secret Service — to launch an investigation of the Justice Department, the FBI and all text messages missing and otherwise that threatened the President.
“This is dangerous territory and all FBI text messages and personal phones should be examined,” the official said. “It would reveal some frightening conversations.” (Read more from “FBI Official: FBI Agents Threatened Physical Harm to President Trump in Missing FBI Texts and Other “Frightening” Communications” HERE)
Hannity: DOJ Has Started Recovering Missing FBI Texts, DOJ Sources Say
By Fox News. Fox News’ Sean Hannity said Wednesday night on “Hannity” that the Justice Department has started recovering some of the missing texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, citing DOJ sources.
Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017. This meant that 5 months’ worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from that time period. Specific content from those texts has not been released . . .
Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, have sent a letter to Inspector General Michael Horowitz noting that the IG’s office said on Dec. 13 that it had all the messages between Strzok and Page between Nov. 30, 2016, and July 28, 2017. A Florida man who prophesied in 2011 that Donald Trump would become president, as well as multiple things that would happen after the businessman took office, says one thing remains to come to pass from the original revelation he felt God gave him: the mainstream media would come to side with Trump.
Mark Taylor, known as the “fireman prophet,” recently recounted to CBN News anchor Wendy Griffith how he wrote down what the Lord showed him minutes after seeing Trump interviewed on television in April 2011. Taylor then shared it with friends, including New York Times bestselling author Mary Colbert, who then shared it with some of the most prominent Christian leaders in the country.
“I didn’t know a lot about Donald, I just knew that he was a very powerful businessman, built this empire, and he was toying with the idea of running for president at the time,” Taylor told Griffith.
“Most people thought it was a joke so I’m listening to him on an interview and all of the sudden I hear the voice of the Lord say, ‘You’re hearing the voice of a president,’” the retired fireman said.
Taylor then went into his office and wrote out what he felt the Holy Spirit was showing him about Trump’s ascendancy to the highest office in the land.
“He was saying basically that America was going to prosper like never before. Israel and America, the ties between the two countries would be stronger than ever before. The dollar would be the strongest it’s ever been, it was very detailed as far as what God was showing me.”
In all, Taylor penned just over 500 words based on the divine download.
When Colbert saw it, she was convinced it was from the Lord.
“As I read this prophecy I saw the Father’s rhythm throughout the whole prophecy. And I recognized the rhythm, or frequency you could call it, because God has His own frequency,” Colbert told Griffith. “I literally collapsed into a chair and said, Donald Trump is going to be our next President?!”
Taylor originally thought the message meant Trump would run for office in 2012, but it was not to be.
“I thought I’d truly missed it,” Taylor said, but then the businessman turned reality television star announced his candidacy in June 2015.
Colbert admits having her doubts during the course of the campaign as Trump’s fortunes appeared to wax and wane.
In June of 2016, she felt the Holy Spirit impress upon her to watch the Belmont Stakes horse race, which ended up strengthening her faith in a Trump victory.
In the race, the horse “Creator” beat rival “Destin” by a nose.
“And the CNN headline said: ‘Creator Wins by a Photo Finish!’ I sat back in my chair and I said, ‘God you’re really going to do this!’” Colbert proclaimed.
Taylor truly believes that Trump is God’s man for the hour, in part to stop an anti-Christian agenda that had been trying to take hold in America.
“The enemy’s timeline has been denied by the Most-High God and it’s through Donald Trump a lot of this is being denied right now,” Taylor said. “And what God is saying right now is ‘No, it’s not time right now because there are many things that God wants to accomplish on the earth right now,’” he said.
Evidence of anti-Christian bias from government could be seen in the Obamacare abortion mandates seeking to override sincerely held beliefs about life and Christian business owners facing steep fines and other criminal penalties for declining to participate in same-sex marriage ceremonies.
Just last week, Trump announced a new division in the Department of Health and Human Services devoted to “conscience and religious freedom.”
“Faith is deeply embedded into the history of our country, the spirit of our founding and the soul of our nation,” the president said. “We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied, or silenced anymore.”
Another recent action by Trump that resonates with evangelicals and fulfills Taylor’s prophecy is his announcement last month that the United States would be moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, thus holding true to a campaign pledge.
“The Spirit says yes, America will once again stand hand in hand with Israel and the two shall be as one, for the ties between Israel and America will be strong than ever and Israel will flourish as never before,” Taylor wrote in 2011. “The Spirit of God says I will protect America and Israel, for this next President will be a man of his word.”
This week, Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Israel and announced before the Kenesset that the U.S. plans to fast track its move of the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, so it takes place by the end of next year.
A Gallup poll conducted in November, before Trump’s announcement of the move of the U.S. embassy, found his approval rating among Israelis at 67 percent. The embassy relocation is popular in the country, which means approval of Trump is likely even higher now.
As Obama prepared to leave office in January 2017, 65 percent of Israelis described him as more pro-Palestinian, while only 12 percent thought he was more pro-Israel. By contrast, 77 percent of Israelis believe Trump is more pro-Israel, according to a poll taken last month.
Just one part of Taylor’s prophecy about Trump has yet to fully become a reality.
“It says the news media would be captivated by him, and they would even begin to agree with him,” Taylor told Griffith. “That’s the only line in the prophecy that hasn’t come to pass yet, so we have to ask ourselves, what’s fixing to happen to make the mainstream media to begin to agree with him?”
Griffith followed up asking what is “fixing to happen?”
“God’s going to clean out the news media,” Taylor said. “God is looking for His people right now, His millionaires and billionaires basically to come in and start investing in these places and buying them out; taking over. God is going to rebuild them and restore them because there is no spirit of truth in them right now — and that’s what God is going to restore.”
Taylor also related that while Trump’s presidency is bringing reformation to what Saint Augustine called the “City of Man,” the “City of God” — the church — will experience a powerful move as well.
“The Army of God will have victory after victory after victory — and I love what Pres. Trump always says…you’ll get sick and tired of winning, if there is such a thing, and that’s the same way for the Army of God it’s going to be victory after victory after victory!” he said.
Taylor and Colbert co-authored the book, “The Trump Prophecies” released last summer, which goes into more detail about the original prophecy and what Taylor sees on the horizon.
Asked whether Trump will win a second term, Taylor responded, “Absolutely. I’m sure about that because when people see the good that the country is coming in to, the prosperity, the economy, the jobs — he’s going to sail in to the second term.” (For more from the author of “Man Who Predicted Trump Win 7 Years Ago: Mainstream Media Will Change Their Tune About Him” please click HERE)

Liberal billionaire George Soros spent more on lobbying during President Donald Trump’s first year in office than he has in any previous year, disclosure forms show.
The Open Society Policy Center, a D.C.-based 501 (c)(4) nonprofit that focuses on domestic and international advocacy efforts and is a separate entity from Soros’s Open Society Foundations, poured $16.2 million into lobbying throughout the entirety of 2017.
Soros’s group reported spending $4.6 million during the first half of 2017 on its lobbying efforts. During the third quarter, Soros added $1.25 million to the total. Most of the lobbying expenditures—$10.3 million—were spent during the fourth quarter, which spans from October 1 to December 31.
Soros ramped up his efforts as the year progressed by pushing funds toward issues that have been seen as a direct attack on the deep-pocketed financier, such as Hungary’s Bill on Foreign Funded Organizations (LexNGO), a crackdown on foreign-funded organizations in that country . . .
Soros also pushed funds to lobby on the Restricted First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act of 2017, the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2018, and the Preventing Preemptive War in North Korea Act of 2017, among others, according to the disclosure forms. The Open Society Policy Center lobbied the Senate, House of Representatives, State Department, National Security Council, and the Department of Defense last year. Amazon’s Alexa will not only call people out for being sexist, but she also predicts what team will win the upcoming Super Bowl. Her verdict: the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to CBS Philly, videos of Amazon’s Alexa predicting that Eagles will win the big game have gone viral.
“I’m flying with the Eagles on this one because of their relentless defense and the momentum they’ve been riding off their underdog status,” Alexa apparently said.
Alexa even finishes with the Eagles chant — “E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles.”
Could this mean that Alexa’s AI somehow can sense the overall sentiment about the game or that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has his money on Philly and making Alexa predict the winner will psyche out the Patriots? No way to tell, but whatever the reason, the predictions are real:

By NY Post. An illegal immigrant who admitted to gunning down two Sacramento-area cops threatened to escape and kill more on the first day of his double murder trial, according to a report.
Luis Bracamontes, who allegedly murdered Detective Michael Davis Jr. and Deputy Danny Oliver in October 2014, smiled in court Tuesday, stating, “I will break out soon and I will kill more, kill whoever gets in front of me…There’s no need for a f–king trial,” The Sacramento Bee reported.
“I wish I had killed more of the motherf–kers,” he said, according to the paper. (Read more from “‘Cop-Killer’ Illegal Alien Wants to Break out and Kill More” HERE)

Illegal Charged in the Killings of Two Cops Wishes He ‘Had Killed More of the Mother——-‘
By Fox News. An illegal immigrant began his murder trial for the 2014 killings of two Northern California sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday with a profanity-laced rant, calling a partner of one of the slain officers a “coward.” . . .
His wife, 41-year-old Janelle Monroy, also is charged in the slayings. She argues that she was a victim of AN abusive husband who frequently used drugs.
Bracamontes, who could face the death penalty if convicted, has had similar episodes in court in the past.
Bracamontes is from Mexico, and repeatedly entered the United States illegally. His wife is an American citizen and faces life in prison if found guilty. (Read more from “Illegal Charged in the Killings of Two Cops Wishes He ‘Had Killed More of the Mother——-‘” HERE)

By Daily Wire. President Donald Trump said Wednesday night that he is “looking forward” to being questioned by Special Counsel Robert Mueller — under oath — in the investigation into whether Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election.
“I’m looking forward to it, actually,” Trump said at the White House. As for the session would occur, Trump said, “I guess they’re talking about two or three weeks…. I’d like to do that as soon as possible.”
“But I’d love to do it,” he declared. Trump again insisted there has been no collusion — and no obstruction of justice in the May firing of FBI director James Comey. “Here is the story: There has been no collusion whatsoever. There is no obstruction whatsoever. And I am looking forward to it.”
During an exchange with reporters, Trump vowed to do the interview under oath — “subject to my lawyers.”
“I would do it under oath. I would do it,” he said, later adding, “I would do it under oath, yeah.” (Read more from “Trump Says He Would ‘Love to’ Answer Special Counsel Mueller’s Questions – Under One Condition” HERE)

Trump Says He Is Willing to Speak Under Oath to Mueller
By The New York Times. President Trump said on Wednesday that he was willing and eager to be interviewed by Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential campaign, insisting that he has done nothing wrong . . .
Mr. Trump suggested that his efforts to defend himself against damaging allegations had been unfairly misinterpreted as wrongdoing . . .
His lawyers have been negotiating for weeks with Mr. Mueller’s team about the prospect of having him answer questions in the inquiry, including what topics would be covered. Mr. Trump said last year he would be willing to speak with Mr. Mueller, but he has more recently suggested that should not be necessary because the allegations being examined were baseless. By Reuters. Chinese scientists have cloned monkeys using the same technique that produced Dolly the sheep two decades ago, breaking a technical barrier that could open the door to copying humans.
Zhong Zhong and Hua Hua, two identical long-tailed macaques, were born eight and six weeks ago, making them the first primates — the order of mammals that includes monkeys, apes and humans — to be cloned from a non-embryonic cell.
It was achieved through a process called somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), which involves transferring the nucleus of a cell, which includes its DNA, into an egg which has had its nucleus removed.
Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Neuroscience in Shanghai said their work should be a boon to medical research by making it possible to study diseases in populations of genetically uniform monkeys.
But it also brings the feasibility of cloning to the doorstep of our own species. (Read more from “Scientists Clone Monkeys, Break Barrier to Human Cloning” HERE)

In a Scientific First, Cloned Monkeys Are Born
By Sharon Begley. There have been mice and cows and pigs and camels, bunnies and bantengs and ferrets and dogs, but ever since Dolly the sheep became the first cloned mammal in 1996, the list has had a conspicuous hole: primates. Now that hole has been filled.
Scientists in China reported on Wednesday in Cell that they had cloned two healthy long-tailed macaque monkeys from the cells of another macaque, using the Dolly technique. The two clones, born 51 and 49 days ago, were created from a fetus’s cells; so far, the scientists have not been able to make the tricky procedure work when they used cells from adult macaques. That would seem to postpone the dystopian day when cloning children and grown-ups becomes as mainstream as IVF. But because “the technical barrier [to cloning primates] is now broken,” co-author Mu-ming Poo of the Institute of Neuroscience in Shanghai told reporters, the technique “could be applied to humans” — something he said his team has no intention of doing and sees no reason for.
Cloning pioneers said the monkey clones represented, as Dr. Robert Lanza put it, “an impressive breakthrough, which overcomes the last major hurdle in the field.” Lanza co-led teams that cloned a gaur in 2000 and in 2014 used the Dolly technique to produce human embryos (but not pregnancies) from the cells of an adult. If successful, a lawsuit by the state of Tennessee against the federal government could empower states to withdraw from the federal refugee resettlement program.
The assessment comes in a new report by the Center for Immigration Studies that spotlights the federal government’s ability to compel a state to pay for federal programs they don’t want.
Over time, writes CIS fellow Don Barnett, the author of the report, the federal government “has shifted the fiscal burden of resettling refugees to the states, often requiring resources be taken from social services, infrastructure, schools, as well as other state taxpayer priorities to implement a federal program.” . . .
If the court rules in Tennessee’s favor, states would be able to withdraw fully from the refugee resettlement program by negating what Barnett describes as a legally questionable 1994 regulation.
Barnett explained that the federal government uses the regulation (45 CFR 400.301) rather than statutory law to allow private non-profits to operate in a state where the state has asked to withdraw from the program. (Read more from “Lawsuit Could Empower States to Reject Refugees” HERE)
