Kasich: Don’t Ask Permission on Gun Control, Just Do It

Ohio Gov. John Kasich advised lawmakers in Congress to pass legislation on gun control and relief for so-called Dreamers and then ask permission from President Trump once the bills have reached his desk.

The Republican bemoaned the pace at which Congress is working and how Republicans continually seek the president’s approval before bringing bills to the floor.

“I think the president will sign something, and if he doesn’t, send it to him anyway,” Kasich said of the gun control measures floating around Congress. “Don’t ask permission.”

Kasich said he’s been pressured by millennials frustrated by how long it takes to pass legislation in statehouses and Congress. (Read more from “Kasich: Don’t Ask Permission on Gun Control, Just Do It” HERE)

FBI’s Dossier Work May Have Been ‘Criminal’

By WND. The FBI’s decision to use the unverified “dossier” about President Trump in a top-secret spy court that authorized surveillance on the Trump campaign may have been a crime, according to a letter obtained by Fox News.

The dossier contains the salacious claims that were assembled by a former British spy using Russian sources for a company linked politically to and funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016.

The dossier was the basis for the FBI’s investigation of Trump’s campaign, including special counsel Robert Mueller’s so-far failed hunt for evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Fox reported House Intelligence Committee chief Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., wrote to Attorney General Jeff Sessions that the FBI, “in this instance,” violated “basic operating guidance.”

“The FBI may have violated criminal statutes, as well as its own strict internal procedures, by using unverified information during the 2016 election to obtain a surveillance warrant on onetime Trump campaign aide Carter Page, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee charged Thursday,” Fox reported. Rep. Devin Nunes says the FBI violated its own rules, and may have skirted federal law, by using a Democratic Party-bought dossier to spy on a Trump campaign volunteer.

By The Washington Times. Rep. Devin Nunes says the FBI violated its own rules, and may have skirted federal law, by using a Democratic Party-bought dossier to spy on a Trump campaign volunteer. . .

The manual, Mr. Nunes says in his March 1 letter, states, “The accuracy of information contained within FISA applications is of utmost importance …. Only documented and verified information may be used to support FBI applications [FISA] to the court [FISC].”

He said that Justice Department and FBI witnesses confirmed that the unverified dossier made up a big part of the warrant application and without it there would have been no application.

Mr. Sessions already announced Tuesday that Justice Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz will investigate how Justice Department and FBI agents handled the warrant presentation, which was renewed three times. On FIRE: Watch This GOP Senate Candidate Stun Second Amendment Snowflakes Into Recess

A Virginia lawmaker running in the Republican primary to challenge U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., outraged Democrats in the state legislature Friday with his fiery speech in support of the Second Amendment.

In response to recent attacks from Democrats on pro-gun Republicans, Delegate Nick Freitas, R-Culpeper, asked his fellow lawmakers to have an “open and honest debate” on the factors that lead to mass shootings. Freitas noted that most mass shootings seem to occur in “gun-free zones” and that most mass shooters “come from broken homes.”

“Most of the shooters come from broken homes. What sort of government policies have actually encouraged broken homes?” Freitas asked. He also noted that the presence of firearms can deter violent crime and that there is a natural right to self-defense.

“So when people on this side talk about the importance of the Second Amendment, please understand it’s not just some base philosophical conviction that we all have,” Freitas said. “It is rooted in the idea that while we may be a post-Enlightenment society, the vast majority of horrible atrocities we’ve seen have happened in those post-Enlightenment societies. It’s happened as a result of government systematically disarming citizens and claiming themselves to be the sole responsible party for their security and then turning on those same citizens and punishing them.”

“That’s the most egregious cases, but in the individual cases of self-defense, that’s why people on this side of the aisle hold the Second Amendment in such high esteem. Because we honestly believe that you have an inherent right to defend yourself. And your ability to defend yourself should not be excluded to your size.”

Democrats in the chamber were not pleased with his speech, according to Richmond Times-Dispatch reporter Graham Moomaw.

Freitas said that Democrats are making an open debate on gun policy difficult by comparing Republicans to “Nazis” and “segregationists.” He fought back, noting that it was the Democrats who were the party of slavery and segregation.

“I just want to remind everyone very quickly, it was not our [Republican] party that supported slavery, that fought women’s suffrage, that rounded up tens of thousands of Asian-Americans and put them in concentration camps, that supported Jim Crow, that supported segregation, supported mass resistance. That wasn’t our party, that was the Democrat party.”

Democrats were reportedly so upset that they asked for recess, while Freitas received cheers from Republicans.

Freitas has earned a reputation in Virginia politics as an exceptional public speaker. This is not the first passionate speech he’s delivered in the House of Delegates. Leftists SLAM New Bruce Willis Movie as ‘Racist’, ‘Evil’ ‘NRA Commercial’

Leftists are slamming a new Bruce Willis movie as a “racist” “commercial for the NRA.”

Opening this weekend, “Death Wish,” a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, stars Willis as Paul Kersey, a Chicago doctor who turns vigilante to exact his revenge on a group of men who murdered his wife and brutally attacked his daughter. Here’s a synopsis from RottenTomatoes:

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth’s reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish. Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his city’s violence when it is rushed into his ER – until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family’s assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller Death Wish. Paul Kersey becomes a divided person: a man who saves lives, and a man who takes them; a husband and father trying to take care of his family, and a shadowy figure fighting crime; a surgeon extracting bullets from suspects’ bodies, and a man seeking justice that detectives are quickly closing in on.

Sounds awesome, right? Leftist critics are hating on this movie, blasting it as “NRA-Agitprop” and white man “wish fulfillment.”

And then there’s NPR’s take: “A film ruthlessly engineered to target the pleasure-centers of the most fearful and fragile cohort of American maleness.” NPR!

So with all the leftist hate for this film dragging the NRA into another cultural controversy, conservatives are excited to see it.

The critic score on RottenTomatoes may be a measly 15 percent, but 80 percent of the audience loved it so far. “Death Wish” opens this weekend. Will all the leftist hate turn out conservatives to see this movie? (For more from the author of “Leftists SLAM New Bruce Willis Movie as ‘Racist’, ‘Evil’ ‘NRA Commercial'” please click HERE)

Terrifying Video Goes Viral After Shark Charges at Scuba Diver

Terrifying footage has captured the moment when a shark in South African waters decided to charge at a scuba diver.

The footage, which has been posted to YouTube and was taken with a GoPro camera, shows Elton Polly filming other divers swimming off the coast of Durban, South Africa. All of a sudden, one of the sharks, which is a blacktip shark, according to news.com.au, comes straight at one of the divers.

The video, which was posted on Feb. 27, has been viewed more than 160,000 times and has gone viral. Polly has posted other videos of sharks to his YouTube channel, including one of a great white shark taking on a cape fur seal.

The shark slams right into one of the diver’s faces, knocks his mask off and pulls the regulator out of his mouth.

“The shark was startled and in an attempt to get away, it charged right into the diver’s head, knocking his mask off and the regulator from his mouth,” Polly said in an interview with Newsflare, according to news.com.au. NARRATIVE FAIL: Florida School Shooter Did NOT Use ‘High-Capacity’ Magazines

While Democratic politicians insist on infringing on the rights of law-abiding Americans to prevent the next mass shooting, a report from earlier this week that received barely any attention shows that their efforts would not have stopped the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School gunman.

House Democrats introduced an assault weapons ban bill this week that would also “prohibit the sale, transfer, production, and importation of semi-automatic rifles and pistols that have a magazine or can accept a magazine that can hold more than 10 bullets, and any ammunition-feeding device that can hold more than 10 bullets.”

This bill would have done nothing to prevent the Parkland shooting as the gunman did not use “high-capacity” magazines, he used 10-round magazines. The Miami Herald reports:

Several state legislators who visited the school with crime-scene investigators said they learned from police that [the shooter]’s rifle was not top-of-the-line, perhaps explaining the malfunction.

[The shooter] went in with only 10-round magazines because larger clips would not fit in his duffel bag. …

WATCH: Steven Crowder’s Latest ‘Change My Mind’ Is the Best One Yet

On Tuesday, the latest episode of Steven Crowder’s “Change My Mind” series was uploaded to YouTube.

Titled, “I’m Pro-Gun (Second Edition),” it’s the best episode of “Change My Mind” yet. There are several reasons why this particular outing is so great, but the primary one is that the participants are both cordial and willing to be engaged . . .

Crowder and his first guest then talked about the Sutherland Springs shooting, and the man who stopped it with his AR-15. (Read more from “WATCH: Steven Crowder’s Latest ‘Change My Mind’ Is the Best One Yet” HERE)

Complete Fail: CNN’s ‘Up-Close Look at an AR-15’

By The Daily Wire. On Wednesday, CNN aired an embarrassing clip of one of their employees attempting to shoot an AR-15 in a segment highlighted by inaccurate statements from both CNN and a retired military officer.

Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling accompanied CNN’s Gary Tuchman to a shooting range for a demonstration on shooting the AR-15, which drew instant mockery on social media.

Tuchman falsely asserted that a defining characteristic of the AR-15 is the “power of the bullet” that it fires. This is a common lie spread by the media as the try to scare people into calling for AR-15s to be banned.

Joseph P. Avery, a Ph.D. who has more than 30 years with the federal government in Army combat arms as an Air Force officer and in the Department of Defense, argues that the U.S. military is at a disadvantage because it uses the M-4/M16, which is the military version of the AR-15. Avery writes:

Despite incremental improvements, the M16 rifle and its 5.56 mm NATO round are unable to compete effectively in current and anticipated combat environments because of the physics of ballistic performance, combat terrain, and the nature and fighting characteristics of the enemy…

Pennsylvania Church Holds ‘Blessing’ Ceremony Featuring AR-15 Rifles

By NBC 10. Worshippers in a Pennsylvania church clutching AR-15 rifles drank holy wine and exchanged wedding vows in a commitment ceremony Wednesday morning.

The event at the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary in Newfoundland, Wayne County, led a nearby school to cancel classes.

The Rev. Sean Moon leads the controversial church. He and his wife are known as the king and queen. Moon said in a prayer Wednesday that God gave people the right to bear arms. He held a gold AR-15 rifle throughout the ceremony.

Moon is the son of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a self-proclaimed messiah who founded the Unification Church, often described as a cult, in the 1950s.

The sanctuary believes the AR-15 symbolizes the “rod of iron” in the book of Revelation, and encouraged couples to bring the weapons to the ceremony. An AR-15 was used in the Florida high school massacre. (Read more from “Pennsylvania Church Holds ‘Blessing’ Ceremony Featuring AR-15 Rifles” HERE)

Survey: Conservatives Are Dying Off

For obvious reasons, the broadly liberal demographic trends in American politics have received much less attention since the 2016 election. Yet the fact remains that America is politically sorted by generations in a way it never has before. The oldest voters are the most conservative, white, and Republican, and the youngest voters the most liberal, racially diverse, and Democratic. There is absolutely no sign the dynamic is abating during the Trump years. If anything, it is accelerating.

The most recent Pew Research Survey has more detail about the generational divide. It shows that the old saw that young people would naturally grow more conservative as they age, or that their Democratic loyalties were an idiosyncratic response to Barack Obama’s unique personal appeal, has not held. Younger voters have distinctly more liberal views than older voters. . .

One could probably quibble with the overall definitions of which voters have liberal views and which have conservative views. What’s telling here is the comparison between generations. By Pew’s given definition, younger voters are wildly more liberal than older ones. The youngest voters have nearly five times as many voters with liberal views than with conservative views. The oldest voters have one and a half times more conservative than liberal voters.

Democrats are benefiting from what political scientists call “thermostatic public opinion,” in which preferences about the size of government tend to swing in the opposite direction of which party controls the presidency. Some of the liberal trends in public opinion are a simple reaction to Trump. But there are also longer-standing trends on some social issues. Within generations, opinion on the role of immigrants is moving left and has been since early in President Obama’s first term. (Read more from “Survey: Conservatives Are Dying Off” HERE)

Hate Group Influencing Youtube? It’s Much Worse

By WND. The Daily Caller’s report that the domestic terror-linked Southern Poverty Law Center has been chosen to help YouTube police website content prompted a moment of stunned silence for many who have dealt with the organization . . .

But the influence of the far-left SPLC, which previously was linked to domestic terror in a Washington, D.C., case involving a man who confessed to trying to kill as many people as he could at the Christian Family Resource Council, is a lot more than that . . .

SPLC has a long history of bias against conservatives.

The Daily Caller report said while the “left-wing nonprofit” has come under fire lately for lashing out at legitimate conservative organizations as “hate groups,” it remains among the groups in YouTube’s “Trusted Flaggers” subprogram.

In that position, the organization that once applied its hate label to Dr. Ben Carson, famed neurosurgeon and now secretary of Housing and Urban Development, advises YouTube about “extremist content,” including “hate speech” and “terrorist recruiting videos,” the Daily Caller said. YouTube Secretly Using SPLC to Police Videos

By Peter Hasson. The Southern Poverty Law Center is assisting YouTube in policing content on their platform, The Daily Caller has learned.

The left-wing nonprofit — which has more recently come under fire for labeling legitimate conservative organizations as “hate groups” — is one of the more than 100 nongovernment organizations (NGOs) and government agencies in YouTube’s “Trusted Flaggers” program, a source with knowledge of the arrangement told TheDC.

The SPLC and other program members help police YouTube for extremist content, ranging from so-called hate speech to terrorist recruiting videos.

All of the groups in the program have confidentiality agreements, a spokesperson for Google, YouTube’s parent company, previously told TheDC. A handful of YouTube’s “Trusted Flaggers,” including the Anti-Defamation League and No Hate Speech — a European organization focused on combatting intolerance — have gone public with their participation in the program. The vast majority of the groups in the program have remained hidden behind their confidentiality agreements.

The SPLC’s close involvement in policing content on YouTube is likely to cause consternation among conservatives who worry that they may not be treated fairly. The left-wing group has consistently labeled pedestrian conservative organizations as “hate groups” and has been directly tied to violence against conservatives in the past. Floyd Lee Corkins, who opened fire at the Family Research Center in 2012, said he chose the FRC for his act of violence because the SPLC listed them as a “hate group.” (Read more from “YouTube Secretly Using SPLC to Police Videos” HERE)
