Watch: Campus Reform Asks Students Who Don’t Think Trump Deserves Nobel Peace Prize Why Obama Won His in 2009

On Saturday, Campus Reform uploaded a video in which Digital Media Director Cabot Phillips spoke with students at UC Santa Cruz about the possibility of President Trump being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Some of Trump’s supporters have said that President Obama won the Nobel Prize in 2009, and they think President Trump has done more, and so he deserves the award for the global peace that’s been brought about as a result of the seeming end of the conflict [in the Korean Peninsula]. Do you think there’s any validity to that claim?

. . .

“Hell no, that’s a joke,” one student replied. “What has he done for peace?” Another student said: “I think that’s crap.” . . .

After listening to similarly ridiculous responses from other students, Phillips finally spoke with someone who asked the right question: “I think if Obama won it, why wouldn’t he [Trump] win it, right? ‘Cause I don’t know why Obama won it. I like Obama, but I don’t think there was any legitimate reason why he should have won it.” (Read more from “Watch: Campus Reform Asks Students Who Don’t Think Trump Deserves Nobel Peace Prize Why Obama Won His in 2009” HERE)

Watch: Green Beret Tim Kennedy Gets Waterboarded in Defense of CIA Nominee Gina Haspel

On Friday, Green Beret Tim Kennedy live-streamed himself being waterboarded in his backyard by friends in order to demonstrate his belief that the procedure is not “torture,” as some claim.

Kennedy, who is also a UFC fighter, made the video to protest those who oppose Gina Haspel, Trump’s nominee for director of the CIA.

Haspel has been criticized for her work at a CIA black site in Thailand where “enhanced interrogation techniques” such as waterboarding were used in the aftermath of 9/11.

In 2005, then-head of the CIA’s National Clandestine Service (NCS), Jose Rodriguez, allegedly asked Haspel, who was his chief of staff, to write a cable directing personnel to destroy 92 tapes which are said to have shown the interrogations of Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri. Rodriguez claims that he ordered the destruction of the tapes because the faces of CIA agents could allegedly be seen.

However, Haspel was cleared of wrongdoing after a “disciplinary review” in 2011. In the review, then-Deputy Director of the CIA Mike Morell writes: “Ms. Haspel claims that she believed — incorrectly as it turned out — that Mr. Rodriguez was going to obtain approval from then (CIA) Director (Porter) Goss before releasing the cable.” (Read more from “Watch: Green Beret Tim Kennedy Gets Waterboarded in Defense of CIA Nominee Gina Haspel” HERE)

Mueller Indicted a Russian Company That Doesn’t Exist

By The Daily Wire. This week, one of the Russian companies accused by Special Counsel Robert Mueller of funding a conspiracy to meddle in the 2016 U.S. presidential election was revealed in court to not have existed during the time period alleged by Mueller’s team of prosecutors, according to a lawyer representing the defendant.

U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey asked Eric Dubelier, one of two lawyers representing the accused Russian company, Concord Management and Consulting LLC, if he was representing a third company listed in Mueller’s indictment . . .

“What about Concord Catering?” Harvey asked Dubelier. “The government makes an allegation that there’s some association. I don’t mean for you to – do you represent them, or not, today? And are we arraigning them as well?” . . .

“That company didn’t exist as a legal entity during the time period alleged by the government,” Dubelier continued. “If at some later time they show me that it did exist, we would probably represent them. But for purposes of today, no, we do not.” (Read more from “Mueller Indicted a Russian Company That Doesn’t Exist” HERE)

Mueller, It’s Time to Wrap This Investigation Up

By The Hill. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been the leading story in the headlines ever since his appointment on May 17, 2017. He promised the nation a swift, narrow, focused investigation into the allegations that President Trump had colluded with Russia, and as we approach the one year anniversary of his appointment he has failed to deliver despite extraordinary waivers of executive privilege by the Trump administration.

It would be a terrible thing for Mueller to stain, forever, his superb reputation going into this job by his conduct of the investigation. A key problem is that Mueller has two major conflicts of interest, which suggest, at a minimum, that he is the wrong man for this job.

First, the big legal charge he seems to be investigating is whether President Trump obstructed justice by firing former FBI director, James Comey, a close personal friend of Mueller’s with whom Mueller worked closely both during both the second Bush and Obama administrations. Nobody should be picked to investigate the legality of the firing of a close personal friend or acquaintance.

As the investigation has unfolded, a different conflict of interest for Mueller has arisen, which is that serious questions have arisen about whether the integrity of the FBI itself was seriously compromised during the time when James Comey was the FBI director. It is obvious that Mueller, a former FBI director, is not the right person to conduct an investigation into possible impermissible conduct by the FBI. Soccer Team Renames Itself for Trump

Jerusalem’s largest soccer club announced Sunday that it has changed its name to “Beitar Trump Jerusalem,” in honor of the US president’s recognition of Israel’s capital and moving his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv . . .

“For 70 years has Jerusalem been awaiting international recognition, until President Donald Trump, in a courageous move, recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel,” the club wrote. “President Trump has shown courage, and true love of the Israeli people and their capital, and these days other countries are following his lead in giving Jerusalem its rightful status.”

The announcement comes the day before the official opening of the new embassy in Jerusalem’s Arnona neighborhood, in a ceremony to be attended by US Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan, Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin, Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, Adviser Ivanka Trump, and Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt, as well as ambassadors and officials from all over the world.

The soccer club stated that it was permanently changing its name in honor of the occasion.

“Beitar Jerusalem, one of the most prominent symbols of the city, are happy to honor the president for his love and support with a gesture of our own,” the Facebook post read. “The chairmen of the club, the owner Eli Tabib and the executive manager Eli Ohana have decided to add to the club’s title the name of the American President who made history, and from now on will be called Beitar Trump Jerusalem.” (Read more from “Soccer Team Renames Itself for Trump” HERE)

Middle East Melee: Are Iran and Israel on the Brink of War?

By The Blaze. As tensions mount in the Middle East, Israel’s government is ramping up its civil defense. Bomb shelters are mandatory, gas-masks and emergency kits are issued to citizens at government distribution centers.

“That said to me an awful lot. They are trying to protect human life,” said Glenn Beck on “The News and Why it Matters”. He added, “It’s not the same way on the other side of the border.”

Iranian forces launched more than 20 rockets at Israel Wednesday. Most of the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome aerial defense system. Israel retaliated with missiles and artillery fire across the boundary between Syria and Israel. (Read more from “Middle East Melee: Are Iran and Israel on the Brink of War?” HERE)

11 Iranians Among Dead in Israel’s Strikes in Syria, Monitor Says

By The Times of Israel. At least 11 Iranians were among those killed in unprecedented Israeli strikes in Syria Thursday, a monitor said Saturday.

“At least 27 pro-regime fighters were killed: six Syrian soldiers and 21 foreign fighters, including 11 Iranians,” said Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

That updates the monitor’s initial death toll of 23, which did not specify the number of Iranians.

“The new report is due to the death of wounded or missing persons whose deaths have been confirmed,” Abdel Rahman said.

Israeli officials told Hadashot TV news Friday night that the security cabinet believes Iran “has gotten the Israeli message, and won’t mess with us in the near future,” — a day after Israel launched dozens of strikes on Iranian military sites in Syria in response to an Iranian missile barrage directed at northern Israel. Black Support for Trump Is Rising into the Danger Zone for Democrats

The latest YouGov/Economist poll (May 6-8), one of a few that comprehensively breaks down support by ethnicity, has some frightening news for the Democratic Party.

While President Trump’s approval holds steady among registered voters at 41 percent, his support among blacks in this poll is striking. If it holds for 2020, it could be devastating for Democrats. Among African-Americans, 16 percent approve of Trump, 10 percent are not sure, and 75 percent disapprove.

While that sounds highly negative, these are high positives for a Republican politician among black Americans. Approval of 16 percent is 8 points higher than the 8 percent of black voter support Trump received on election day 2016, and 9 points higher than the black vote Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney received in 2012. The “Not Sure” at 10 percent is staggering, and the 75 percent “disapprove” rating is consistent with the low 70 percent aggregate found in any YouGov poll among this demographic.

The same poll, with their rounding, reported in January that Trump approval was at 10 percent among black Americans, 15 percent were not sure, and 74 percent disapproved, so the numbers are not only steady but improving in Trump’s favor.

This result may actually be underreporting Trump’s black support, as this records “all voters,” which consistently has lower figures for Trump in all categories, as opposed to registered voters. YouGov/Economist gives Trump a 40 percent “All voters” approval rating four points lower than their registered voters findings (RealClearPolitics favors the registered voters results across the polling companies it reports). Donor with Rare Antibodies Gave Blood Every Two Weeks for Decades to Save Babies

. . .[James]Harrison, known as the “Man With the Golden Arm,” has donated blood nearly every week for 60 years. After all those donations, the 81-year-old Australian man “retired” Friday. The occasion marked the end of a monumental chapter.

According to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, he has helped saved the lives of more than 2.4 million Australian babies.

Harrison’s blood has unique, disease-fighting antibodies that have been used to develop an injection called Anti-D, which helps fight against rhesus disease.

This disease is a condition where a pregnant woman’s blood actually starts attacking her unborn baby’s blood cells. In the worst cases, it can result in brain damage, or death, for the babies. (Read more from “Donor with Rare Antibodies Gave Blood Every Two Weeks for Decades to Save Babies” HERE)

How Did Americans Respond to Kanye West’s Support of Trump? A New Poll Has Answers

Rapper and entertainer Kanye West began an online conflagration after he began tweeting support of President Trump, but a new poll shows how many Americans believed the campaign was authentic.

While more than half of Americans believe West made his comments simply to seek publicity, only 39 percent say that they think he believes in what he’s saying.

The CNN poll showed that many more Republicans had faith in his authenticity, 56 percent, than did Democrats, of which only 30 percent think be believed in what he’s saying.

West angered many on the left and thrilled many Trump supporters after he began posting videos of online personalities who were supporters of the president.

“You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him,” West tweeted. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone.”

Gun Manufacturer Issues Scathing Rebuke Against Dick’s Sporting Goods, Pulls out of Stores

Dick’s Sporting Goods is continuing to feel the consequences of its decisions on weapons following the deadly Parkland school shooting.

Another major gun manufacturer announced Wednesday that it is severing ties with the sporting goods store after it hired three Washington, D.C., lobbyists to push for gun control legislation, the National Review reported.

Dick’s had already banned the sale of assault-style weapons and raised the minimum age for purchasing a gun to 21 after the mass shooting at the Florida high school in February that took the lives of 17 people. But the move to lobby gun control efforts on Capitol Hill was the last straw for several prominent gun manufacturers.

O.F. Mossberg & Sons Inc., the parent company of Mossberg guns, issued a statement announcing the end of its relationship with Dick’s Sporting Goods. . .

“Make no mistake, Mossberg is a staunch supporter of the U.S. Constitution and our Second Amendment rights, and we fully disagree with Dick’s Sporting Goods’ recent anti-Second Amendment actions,” he added, telling customers to “visit one of the thousands of pro-Second Amendment firearm retailers” instead of Dick’s.

Nancy Pelosi Raises Eyebrows and a Whole Lot of Questions with Incoherent Rant on Iran

Democrats’ swift condemnation of President Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear deal may have been too quick for Nancy Pelosi to coherently gather her thoughts.

The House Minority Leader slammed the president for his decision, which she claimed threatens global security, but was soon rambling in her weekly briefing with reporters.

“For the president to destroy the successful Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action gravely endangers our global security and defies comprehension,” Pelosi said Thursday, referring to the Iran nuclear deal as “one of the great diplomatic achievements of our time.”

The California Democrat then held up a book which she earlier explained contained statements by Democrats in favor of the Obama-era policy.

“I show you this book because we didn’t ask people to sign a letter,” she said. “We asked them to study the agreement, to study the validation of ambassadors, and generals and admirals and military people across the board.”
