Hollywood Director Says Trump Could ‘Go Down as One of the Greatest Presidents in History’

David Lynch — an award-winning director who helmed “The Elephant Man” and “Twin Peaks” among other notable projects — spoke out in what appeared to be support for President Donald Trump in an interview published Saturday in The Guardian. . .

During the wide-ranging interview, 72-year-old Lynch said that Trump could very well “go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much.”

Lynch, who has been open about his admiration of former President Ronald Reagan and who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) during his 2016 presidential campaign, also noted that he feels Trump is able to get things done as president.

“I am not really a political person, but I really like the freedom to do what you want to do,” Lynch told The Guardian’s Rory Carroll. “No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way.”

Lynch doesn’t necessarily think that Trump is doing a good job as president, per se, but, according to Carroll, this allows other “outsiders” to come in and do the job as president in the future.
