This Lesbian Actress-Turned Politician Claims ICE Is a ‘Terrorist Group’

Cynthia Nixon, an actress turned gubernatorial challenger for New York governor, called the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency a “terrorist organization” and wants it abolished, according to published reports. . .

Nixon, a Democrat, made the comment Thursday at St. Paul and St. Andrew United Methodist Church on the Upper West Side in New York City. She was there to support undocumented Guatemalan immigrant Debora Vasquez-Barrios, a mother of two who sought sanctuary at the church in early June after ICE told her that she is facing deportation.

“ICE has strayed so far from its mission,” said Nixon, who previously starred on “Sex in the City.” “It’s supposed to be here to keep Americans safe but what it’s turned into is frankly a terrorist organization of its own. It’s terrorizing people who are coming to this country.” . . .

“I think we need to abolish ICE,” Nixon said earlier in the day on “The View.” “That seems really clear. They have strayed so far from the interests of the American people and the interests of humanity.”

The 52-year-old actress is challenging Gov. Andrew Cuumo for the Democratic nomination for governor. Last week, a Siena College poll showed her behind Cumo, 61 to 26 percent. The primary is set for Sept. 13. (Read more from “This Lesbian Actress-Turned Politician Claims ICE Is a ‘Terrorist Group'” HERE)
