We Finally Know Why Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him

By Townhall. Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) office has provided Townhall the following statement regarding last year’s attack.

“Before Senator Paul was violently attacked from behind, he had no conversations or discussions with the attacker. There was no ‘longstanding dispute.’ This description is untrue. It is impossible to have a dispute when no words of disagreement were ever spoken – neither immediately nor at any other time before the attack occurred. In the decade prior to the attack, Senator Paul had no contact with the attacker.

The attack was a pre-meditated assault that broke six of the Senator’s ribs and was complicated by fluid and blood around the lung and recurrent pneumonia. Any description of this attack that implies a “yard dispute” justifies such violence and misses the point.” . . .

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was left with six broken ribs, including three displaced fractures, and months of intense pain that felt like 1,000 knives after his neighbor attacked him last year. The assailant, Dr. Rene Boucher, attacked Paul while he was mowing his lawn. The senator had just stepped off the lawn mower and was wearing silencing earmuffs and never saw or heard his neighbor coming.

Contrary to original rumors, Boucher’s attack on the senator was not about politics. He was upset about yard debris, according to new court documents. (Read more from “We Finally Know Why Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him” HERE)

Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him Over Yard Debris, Now Awaits Sentencing

A neighbor who tackled U.S. Sen. Rand Paul “lost his temper” over yard debris on the property line between their homes, a court filing in the federal case said.
The neighbor, Dr. Rene Boucher, is asking a judge to grant probation in the case. Prosecutors are seeking a 21-month prison sentence.

A sentencing memorandum filed Friday by Boucher’s attorney said Paul repeatedly placed “unsightly” yard debris near the property line. On the day before the Nov. 3 attack, Boucher burned some debris left by Paul, according to the document obtained by the Daily News of Bowling Green. The next day, Paul placed more debris on the spot where the pile had been burned, it said.

Boucher, 60, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a member of Congress and is scheduled to be sentenced Friday. . .

“Other than the isolated incident that is in issue, Dr. Boucher has been a pillar of his community, a solid citizen, a family man and a devout Christian,” Baker wrote in his memorandum. Trump Praises Relationship With Kim Jong Un, Makes History

By ABC News. President Donald Trump lavished praise on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after their historic four and a half hour face-to-face meeting in Singapore Tuesday, where the two signed an unspecified agreement that the president described as “pretty comprehensive.”

“A very worthy, smart negotiator, absolutely,” Trump told reporters while standing alongside Kim. “We learned a lot about each other and our countries.” . . .

“Today we had a historic meeting and decided to leave the past behind and we are about to sign a historic document,” Kim said. “The world will see a major change. I would like to express my gratitude to President Trump to make this meeting happen.”

“I feel really great,” Trump said. “We’re going to have a great discussion, I think, a tremendous success, this will be tremendously successful. It’s my honor and we will have a terrific relationship I have no doubt.” . . .

“It was not an easy path here,” Kim said. “There’s a history of holding onto our ankles, and it appeared there were times that there were unfortunate practices where they were trying to block our eyes and our ears, but we’ve overcome everything and come to this place.”

U.S. Demands Japan Reduce Its Plutonium Stockpiles

By Nikkei Asian Review. The U.S. has called on Japan to reduce its high levels of stockpiled plutonium, a move that comes as the Trump administration seeks to convince North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons, Nikkei has learned.

The request was made by the U.S. Department of State and National Security Council ahead of next month’s extension of a bilateral nuclear cooperation agreement, according to people familiar with the matter.

Japan has about 47 tons of the radioactive element — enough to produce around 6,000 nuclear warheads. Foreign and domestic critics have pointed to these reserves as a ready source of bomb-making material should Japan choose to become a nuclear weapons state.

Plutonium production is banned in principle, but energy-poor Japan has been allowed to extract the material from spent nuclear fuel rods under the bilateral pact.

Japan insists that it does not maintain plutonium reserves “without specified purposes.” Critics in Japan and elsewhere, including China and some in the U.S. Congress, have expressed concern about the size of these stockpiles. Military’s Homosexual Agenda Continues to Push Forward Forcefully Despite Trump’s Opposition

Air Force Expands Parental Leave for Homosexual “Parents”

By Air Force Times. The Air Force on Friday announced an expansion of parental leave for fathers, same-sex couples, and adoptive and surrogate parents. . .

Covered service members who are having a child through birth, adoption or surrogacy will decide which parent is the primary caregiver and which is the secondary caregiver.

The Air Force said airmen should decide which parent is primary and which is secondary as early as possible. Parents cannot transfer their leave to one another. (Read more from “Air Force Expands Parental Leave for Homosexual “Parents” HERE)

Navy Allows Homosexually Promiscuous Sailors to Remain on Active Duty and Take Anti-HIV Drug Truvada; Air Force Disagrees – For Now

By Military.com. If the policy were different, Lt. Jones might be transferring to the U.S. Air Force now, knowing the service is short on pilots.

But Jones, who has served in the Navy since 2010, will extend his career there instead of joining the Air Force Reserve. The reason? The Air Force does not allow its pilots to take a popular medication designed to prevent HIV infection. The Navy does.

Critics say the Air Force’s policy represents an overly conservative approach that borders on homophobia, since the medication is commonly used by gay, sexually active individuals. Meanwhile, Air Force leaders say they need time to rewrite older policies. . .

Jones, an E-2 Hawkeye pilot who asked that his first name not be published for privacy reasons, doesn’t have human immunodeficiency virus, but the pill — commonly known as Truvada and used as a pre-exposure prophylaxis treatment (PrEP) to reduce the risk of HIV — is banned in the Air Force for those who fly. . .

“I’ve weighed my options,” said Jones. “In the Navy, my prescription is already taken care of and I have that established. If I go Air Force … I’m not willing to put my safety or my health at risk if they’re ignorant to something that’s actually really beneficial for a lot of people.” (Read more from “Navy Allows Homosexually Promiscuous Sailors to Remain on Active Duty and Take Anti-HIV Drug Truvada; Air Force Disagrees – For Now” HERE)

Trump’s Transgender Military Policy Under Attack by 100 in Congress

By The Daily Signal. More than 100 lawmakers have signed a letter calling on Defense Secretary James Mattis to rescind his recently announced transgender policy for the military, as USA Today reports.

Mattis’ policy largely returns the military to the transgender policy in effect prior to 2016, when President Barack Obama enacted sweeping changes based on political considerations and a Rand Corp. study later found to have “mischaracterized” much of the data surrounding service by transgender individuals. . .

The crux of the Pentagon’s new policy prohibits transgender individuals who suffer from gender dysphoria from serving in the military because these individuals have been found to “experience significant distress and impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.”

The Pentagon based this conclusion on its own vast amounts of medical data gathered from years of experience dealing with service members who had gender dysphoria. It also relied on publically available data documenting that transgender individuals with gender dysphoria attempt suicide at nearly nine times the U.S. average lifetime rate, and experience severe anxiety at eight times the average rate.

This level of mental anxiety and distress is fundamentally incompatible with arduous military service. And despite years of effort, as studies agree, a successful treatment for gender dysphoria is yet to be found. Kansas Democratic Party Can’t Account for $900,000 From Clinton Campaign Fund

Federal campaign finance reports of the Kansas Democratic Party for the 2016 election cycle don’t account for $900,000 of the $2.4 million transferred from Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s fundraising operation to the state party before funneled to the Democratic National Committee.

Documents submitted to the Federal Elections Commission by the Hillary Victory Fund recorded 10 transactions from August to November 2016 that resulted in deposits of $2.46 million into accounts of the Kansas Democratic Party. State Democratic Party reports showed receipt of $1.56 million and recorded transfers of that amount to the DNC.

An attorney with a pro-Donald Trump organization challenging legality of the Clinton cash transfers to 32 state Democratic parties said the Victory Fund’s reporting indicated $900,000 was shifted to the state party on Oct. 6, 2016. The state party didn’t report receiving that amount nor transferring it to the DNC, yet the DNC acknowledged accepting $900,000 from the Kansas Democratic Party on Oct. 6, 2016. Archives Stumble Onto New Obama Scandal — ‘Wholesale Destruction’ of Government Records

The archivist in charge of transferring former President Barack Obama’s records into the National Archives has run across a serious problem, according to a report published Sunday: A lot of the records are missing.

“A first-rate librarian, (David) Ferriero has been driving a much-needed digital overhaul and expansion of the National Archives over the nine years of his appointment,” writer Thomas Lipscomb reported for RealClearPolitics. “This will greatly improve the ability of digital search locally and remotely, as well as accessing the files themselves.” . . .

The former president, it must be noted, signed a law that put electronic communications under the 1950 Federal Records Act. However, it doesn’t seem that his practice is quite what he preaches.

Lipscomb wrote that “the accumulation of recent congressional testimony has made it clear that the Obama administration itself engaged in the wholesale destruction and ‘loss’ of tens of thousands of government records covered under the act as well as the intentional evasion of the government records recording system by engaging in private email exchanges.”

“So far, former President Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Lynch and several EPA officials have been named as offenders. The IRS suffered record ‘losses’ as well. Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy called it ‘an unauthorized private communications system for official business for the patent purpose of defeating federal record-keeping and disclosure laws.’” (Read more from “Archives Stumble Onto New Obama Scandal — ‘Wholesale Destruction’ of Government Records” HERE)

Establishment Media Silent: Trump Gets Unexpected Surprise Courtesy of Singapore Citizens

Since President Donald Trump’s first day in office, the liberally biased mainstream media has perpetuated the narrative that Trump is largely despised both at home and abroad, and that in other nations he is almost universally viewed as an embarrassment to the American people.

Thus, it came as no surprise whatsoever when the U.S. media essentially ignored the reception Trump received from cheering supporters upon his arrival Sunday in Singapore ahead of a high-stakes summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. . .

According to a series of photos published by The Daily Caller, the president received a boisterous welcome from not just U.S. citizens who live in Singapore, but also from Singaporean citizens as well.

A couple photos show a pair of young American women wearing red MAGA hats and waving American flags, with one of the girls even wearing a pair of patriotic socks emblazoned with Trump’s name.

Fans of the president had gathered at the airport to greet his arrival, andlined the streets of the route used to transport him via presidential motorcade to the Shangri-La Hotel, as well as the Singaporean prime minister’s residence, the Istana Palace. Here’s the Photo You Didn’t See: Moments From Merkel’s Viral G7 Shot the Scene Changed

A photo German Chancellor Angela Merkel shared on social media has gone viral, with liberals claiming she’s berating President Trump while she stands over him at the G7 Summit.

The photo has been claimed a “victory” by both liberals and conservatives, despite the fact that it shows who’s really in charge (i.e., the guy casually sitting down while others jump through hoops for his attention).

Merkel, who has been dubbed “German Hillary,” clearly understands the power of propaganda and getting your narrative out first. While the photo she shared went viral with the “she’s-the-boss” narrative that Merkel wanted to promote, what people didn’t see was that in the same moments, Merkel and the entire group burst out into laughter.

German reporter Fabian Reinbold tweeted several different angles of the photo, showing how each world leader put him or herself at the center of power in the informal group snapshot. Apparently, the photographic arms race is even fiercer than the nuclear arms race.

Turkish President Predicts Holy ‘War’ Over Austrian Mosque Closures

By The Daily Caller. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan predicted “a war” between Christianity and Islam on Saturday after the Austrian government announced it will shut down seven Turkish nationalist mosques in Vienna and possibly expel up to 60 imams.

“You do this and we sit idle? It means we will take some steps too,” Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul.

“These measures taken by the Austrian chancellor are, I fear, leading the world towards a war between the cross and the crescent,” he continued, according to the German newspaper Die Welt.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz’s decision Friday to shut down several extremist mosques and to dissolve an organization called the Arab Religious Community angered Erdogan, an Islamist who considers the Muslim Brotherood an ally.

Kurz, a conservative who has espoused nationalist policies, made the decision after an investigation into two Turkish religious organizations, the Turkish-Islamic Cultural Associations and Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs, known as Diyanet. Turkey’s Erdogan Slams Austria’s Move to Shut Down Foreign-Funded Mosques

By DW. . .Reacting to the announcement, a spokesman for Erdogan said that Vienna’s move was “a reflection of the anti-Islam, racist and discriminatory populist wave in the country.”

Around 360,000 people of Turkish origin, including 117,000 Turkish nationals live in Austria. Ties between Ankara and Vienna have deteriorated in recent months with Kurz’s anti-immigration speeches and opposition to Turkey’s EU membership bid. . .

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced Friday his government was shutting down a hardline Turkish nationalist mosque in the capital, Vienna, and dissolving a group called the Arab Religious Community, which runs an additional six mosques.

The chancellor said the initiative followed an investigation into images that emerged in April of young boys wearing Turkish uniforms marching, saluting, playing dead and waving Turkish flags. The pictures were found to have come from the Cologne-based Turkish-Islamic Cultural Associations (ATIB) organization, a branch of Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Why Is Obama Meeting With 2020 Hopefuls?

President Obama won’t be on the ballot in 2020, but he is meeting with some of the Democrats who are looking to run for president, giving them advice on how to challenge President Trump, according to news reports. . .

It’s a unique role for a former president who’s seen Mr. Trump, in less than two years, wipe away much of his legacy, from environmental policy to immigration decisions to trade agreements to the Iran nuclear deal.

To date he’s met with Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Bernard Sanders; former Vice President Joseph R. Biden; former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick; former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu; Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti; South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Peter Buttigieg; former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander; and former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., CNN reported, citing a Democrat “close to the former president.” . . .

Mr. Obama left office promising to mentor Democrats, saying he wanted to build a more durable party. His chief effort has been trying to get a better outcome out of the decennial redistricting process, which draws the lines for U.S. House districts. . .

Antjuan Seawright, a Democratic strategist and CEO of Blueprint Strategy, views Mr. Obama as a great unifier whose voice is needed ahead of the 2018 and 2020 elections, but he also thinks there’s a place for 2016 nominee Hillary Clinton to lend a helping hand to future 2020 candidates.
